821  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Article on Bitcoin in my Local Newspaper!! on: December 28, 2016, 07:19:43 PM
There's nothing new in here when we talk about demonetization, as the days it started gave a boost in the prices of bitcoins which made people a profit of more than 30% per Bitcoins that were sold with such increments than the actual International market rates. This is catching lots of eyes' attention and will surely wake up the government soon, and I don't think they will ever give it acceptance because they won't be able to trace and that's their disadvantage here.
822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The New Bitcoin Millionaires Club on: December 28, 2016, 07:15:07 PM
With a hard set total supply limit of 21 million Bitcoins, excluding those not already mined and others that have been lost, there can only ever be a maximum of 1 million Bitcoin owners who own equal to or more than 21 Bitcoins.

Do you class them as the new Bitcoin millionaires?

If we consider those guys as millionaires who possess 21 Bitcoins based on current price of bitcoins, then definitely no, because we are mathematically wrong here. And this is not a good thing if there will ever be such amount of people only who will possess 21 Bitcoins, as that will become the biggest holdback if the coins are not spread among other users.
823  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has no competition on: December 27, 2016, 05:09:09 PM
Ether was shaping up as a major competitor for Bitcoin. But now, it is slowly slipping in to oblivion. What has happened to Litecoin, Namecoin, and Ripple has happened to Ether as well. This is the problem with altcoins. They will stay competitive for at most a year. After that, the promoters will dump these coins and they will lose their value.

It's not just Ether that is being dumped like other well-known alts, but even some currently appreciated projects like Monero and some other ICO coins, which were thought to give bitcoins some competition, were just being used to "trade" alone for the purpose of profits and nothing else.
824  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost Forever: 26.04 BTC Burned In 2016 on: December 27, 2016, 03:34:00 PM
Last October a website called BTCBurns.cf identified 397 burn addresses containing 2,657.8686 BTC lost forever. It has gone offline. Since it stopped keeping track 26.04 additional bitcoins have been sent to these addresses.

The total number of unspendable bitcoins is now 2,771.4086.

http://bitcoinwhoswho.com/blog/2016/12/21/btc-burn-addresses/

I just found out about it, how many bitcoins of those users had been burned and how many they have right now if throw away so easy for them, that can't be come from one guy. Make some people jealous to see that waste of money, but as it stated from the beginning
"Lost coins only make everyone else’s coins worth slightly more. Think of it as a donation to everyone
I think that's why we get recently pump to the price, worth slightly more.

The lost coins have nothing to do with a pump or I would say, a steady price rise and so the same thing can be said reversibly.
Such coins could have been used for anything including "donations" to an actual charity instead of being burnt, but they didn't.
Should they still be considered as used in a better way?
825  Economy / Speculation / Re: How long until India "bans" bitcoin and it's effects? on: December 27, 2016, 03:24:27 PM
Freedom from what? It's prices?
If it's related to it, then I think the price has already settled back down to where it should be and no more enjoyable deals are available here.
Apart from it, if we are talking here about trading bitcoins, then there is neither legality nor illegality of bitcoins being discussed currently in the country, but as we are all heading towards a cashless economy, I think Government will possibly favor Bitcoins instead of going against it, seeing the potential it has, whether as a currency or as a commodity.
826  Local / India / Re: ABP news Indian news channel talking about zebpay and Unicoin --- Bitcoins on: December 22, 2016, 10:34:30 PM
But don't you think these guys are creating a false/misleading image of bitcoins in front of Indians by showing it as a "source for people changing their black money for bitcoins"? This is not how we wanted everyone to know about it, still whether positive or negative, I think this will surely get bitcoins somewhere here in India as a lot of publicity is being done currently and I am now hearing about bitcoins everywhere.

One more news In Indian all most bank Managers Know about Botcoins.....

When did I say that I don't know about the news? I knew that it's true, but the way media is introducing bitcoins in India should not be the way it should have shown up. PayTM managed to grab a lot of users during these "cashless" times and I find it very hard for bitcoins now for being started to be used by an average user now as PayTM has captured all the market. Not just that bank managers only know about bitcoins, even they were involved in converting old cash into new, which makes all this demonetization thing worthless.
827  Local / India / Re: I am feeling very sorry for Demonetization in India on: December 22, 2016, 10:27:39 PM
I touched the 500 rupee note today, after around 40 days since it was introduced  Undecided

tbh a very good chunk of people were able to convert oldies into new cash, as there have been huge seizures in new currency too..

That had been very much surprising as how the government is able to catch those who converted their old cash into new notes, and in most huge seizures where new notes are being found, I haven't seen any with new 500 Rupee notes but new 2000 Rupee notes. Don't really know what's the logic behind this.
They said they had included some nano chips in those new notes, do you really think that's the case? If so, what would be the production cost per note?
828  Local / India / Re: Link for list of exchanges with rates? on: December 22, 2016, 10:23:27 PM
Didnt someone make a live link for all the indian exchanges and rates?
I guess, u r talking about www.bitcoinrates.in.

The site doesn't have a reputed name included there, and that's trybitcoin.in
Currently, they are providing the highest rates per bitcoin and are trustworthy, did 2 trades there and can confirm that transactions were smooth as well as quick, and customer service was good.

Zebpay is paying the most in case of selling bitcoins.but can also try localbitcoins.com where u can genuine buyers and get away from spammers .because they are too many out there .

Localbitcoin have too many of the spammers and they will pay you either form the hack account or from hack paytm account. Be caustious while dealing with such people as its becomes difficult if you cannot find out. Best is it to ask for ID proof if you selling the btc so that you may have some genuine checked. .

Not spammers, but scammers.
And never deal with PayTM guys as most are fraud deals.
829  Local / Press & News from India / Re: [2016-12-21] NDTV: In a Post Demonetisation World, Indians are Giving BTC a look on: December 22, 2016, 10:13:28 PM
Demonetisation has become one of the major reasons why Indians are heading towards bitcoins, and this has helped the growth of user-base a lot here which is why I feel thankful to our PM as due to him, this has become possible. But due to so much negative publicity by media, it is going to be very hard for bitcoins to being used as an alternative to PayTM which has gained a lot more popularity by playing a square on the spot.
830  Local / India / Re: how many Indian woman using bitcoin? on: December 22, 2016, 10:06:31 PM
OP, please don't think that women are not into bitcoins and don't take them as underdeveloped or non-techy because I don't know about many, but I have a group of girls, I mean they are my friends who use bitcoins for their daily use and even trade this. They once did a joke by saying that there will come a time they will start ordering their groceries too using bitcoins, but I said that their wish will soon come true.
Which city you are located at,honestly saying dude i havent seen any girl till now who talk about bitcoin or cryptocurrency.i know there are many women which are expert in crypto field and are working in well known company but if we take in general then india lacks far behind.

I won't disclose where am I located at currently, but yeah, I do know that they are very rich in exploring and learning new things.
They are all studying computer science and so, using bitcoins is general among all of us (I mean the group), won't say they are experts but they definitely take part in any bitcoin related events that occur in our country.
831  Local / India / Re: Price drop on: December 22, 2016, 10:02:19 PM
The price has dropped since yesterday from 64k INR to 56k ,

What do you guys think is this still a fair price to buy at ?

Personally I feel preev market rate + 1-2 k is a good price as it was in the past.
I think price will fall more and settle at 50k in December.
You should wait before Christmas ends and buy after it

Really? And what do you think now?
The price is back above 60k and Christmas is near, still everyone thinking that the price will fall?
I hope we see $1000 in India once again as it was already there when we crossed the 67k mark before.
832  Local / India / Re: The Best Bitcoin Exchange in India on: December 22, 2016, 09:53:27 PM
As in?

you did not request for withdrawal yet they processed it to your bank? That is strange.

Yes, I didn't request any withdrawal to be processed, but it got processed automatically and the funds got transferred without my consent.
I don't feel bad because the amount was not that big, but for big players, this might be a problem if they didn't knew this before and got their funds auto-withdrawn.
833  Local / Regional Languages (India) / Re: आपके बीटकॉईन को पे-टीम कॅश मे बदलने केलीये.. on: December 22, 2016, 09:16:28 PM
Dudeperfect, your offer is good.
But I want to caution everyone who is going to sell their bitcoins for PayTM money, as I have come through a case recently.
A person just bought bitcoins and sent PayTM money to the seller.
A few days later, that buyer just called the PayTM guys asking why the amount got deducted and PayTM people said that you have mentioned that you bought some Bitcoins, and the buyer replied like, "What? What the hell is Bitcoin?" He said he needs a refund at any cost or he will lodge a complaint and PayTM reversed the funds back to his wallet. I just wanted to let everyone remain safe, that's why I shared this. And TBH, this is not specifically for you, OP.
834  Local / Press & News from India / Re: [2016-12-19] India Today: Exposed : The unrestricted bitcoins bazaar on: December 22, 2016, 09:10:48 PM
The worst part is, I don't think even these people publishing the reports are manipulating the common man.

they truly have no Idea about the true potential about bitcoins, they just take the limited knowledge they can get from word of mouth, distort it unintentionally and publish it to create breaking news.

I will give you an example:

A cash to btc trader told the undercover reporter that " Aapko bitcoins Zebpay ka jo current rate hoga uske 20% extra mein mil jayega, koi bhi note chalega"

Media intrepetation?

"Iss Kaala Baazaar ke dhandha khule aam ho raha hai, websites ke dwara log apna kaala dhan chupa rahe hai, dekhiye in badi companiyon ka parda faash aaj raat 8baje."

ffs

Lolz, correct. They just misinterpret everything and put it accordingly, based on their assumptions completely without even understanding the concept behind that thing. Bitcoin has never been a Kala Bazaari wala dhandha, at least not for us who actually know its potential and its use. Just because few asses out there are purchasing bitcoins because they don't need anything specific like they need to show for even Gold nowadays, this media is just making bitcoins "black money chhupane ka ek matra raasta". I just can't do anything but clap on all their idiotic comments.
835  Local / India / Re: New to Bitcoin Currency on: December 22, 2016, 08:32:38 PM
Thank you. For help. Verified 15 days ago. Using it now.

Found many ways to earn free coins. In play store found legit app developer's game Blockchain for earning Bitcoins.
Takes time lot time to earn but good and free payout every Tuesday. I earned 0.0006Bitcoins in two weeks.
I want to know PrimeDice is good site for playing for bitcoins?

That's good that you are now verified there. And yes, it takes a lot to earn bitcoins because of its high value currently.
PrimeDice is a dice site where you can play either through their faucet (200 satoshis after signup) or you can deposit your own bitcoins and start playing with their high-low dice game, it is a good site because it's been online since many years and has a very good reputation here at bitcointalk among many other gambling websites.
836  Local / India / Re: Request to all Indian members on: December 22, 2016, 08:28:11 PM
The problem we encounter is we speak in different languages and every state has its own language so we are using English as a mode of conversation so counter that and so is the reason we are having less activity inside this sub forum  Smiley We are the only country in the world where people speaks more than 300 languages ,such diversity in cultures.  Smiley
I do not think it is just diversity in language that keep us from posting in India local forum.
We could use English here as there is no such compulsion to use Hindi or any regional language.
If we have more good discussions,we definitely get more activities here

Whether compulsory or not, but I think that the languages which this part is made for, should be spoken inside here.
And when I used to speak it in some parts of this section, I was asked to leave the conversation just because they didn't understand Hindi and said that I should post in English. But I agree with you that we need some healthy discussions out here.

I don't have a budget but an idea to propose, that why not Indians start a signature campaign for Indians only and ask their friends to join the forum to learn about bitcoins as well as earn something in return? That would be interesting if users start engaging even if they are here for bitcoins, but only active participants should be allowed. Smiley
837  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why some people prefer Bitcoin over fiat ? on: December 22, 2016, 08:22:41 PM
Bitcoin is being used widely in porn sites, gambling and drug dealing sectors. Is that why the btc made for ? I have seen a lot of members in this forum discussing about buying drugs, gambling and enjoying porn with bitcoin. Is not it a misuse of a currency ? Block chain tech is a awesome tech and btc is getting popular. I hate these misuses of precious btc. It hurts me. This will lead into unhealthy society along with unhealthy future generation.

Whether bitcoins or fiat, both are being used for such purposes and that's not bitcoin is made up for, but when there is graciousness and benevolence, there will be enormity and rebelliousness too. We can't control minds, we can just expect and so, let that unhealthy society be kept aside if you don't want it to be a part of us, but you cannot ask them to get themselves removed as because they have become a "part" now.
838  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin is a good investment now, because... on: December 22, 2016, 08:16:02 PM
Bitcoin had been, is now, and will always be a great investment source because there is an assurance that the price will always grow and not just be doomed by anyone as it is being spread among many users and as we all know the wider the adoption (demand here), the better the value.
839  Local / Press & News from India / Re: [2016-12-19] India Today: Exposed : The unrestricted bitcoins bazaar on: December 22, 2016, 08:11:45 PM
mindless journalism without any research.

I had seen the video they published, bs about how its all about the dark market and Anonymous hackers founded bitcoin for drug trafficking.

We need some genuine media outlets  Embarrassed

This is what's dragging bitcoins into dark in India, this journalism and media itself.
I hate all News channels here because they are "PAID" and they only show what they are asked to show.
But this is not doing any good for bitcoins in India, as it is evident that bitcoins are surely going to be seen as a "black-money-converting-commodity" from the very beginning here.
840  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hello! Freshly joined on: December 22, 2016, 07:56:51 PM
Welcome to the community, so far I have been working for bitcoins here itself, so I think you are at the best and correct place to earn bitcoins with many different ways like signature campaigns to selling your services here to getting paid for micro tasks. And if you want to store your bitcoins, offline wallets or physical hardware like trezor, but it would be expensive.
