821  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTC] Vertcoin - Adaptive N-factor in Scrypt - No more ASICs on: February 04, 2014, 10:46:21 PM
So has anyone managed to mine Vertcoins? Still can't get it to work. It's so frustrating.

Yeah, it's working quite well actually. What's wrong?
I don't know. That's the problem. I was trying to set it up last night and eventually gave up because it wasn't mining. I use CGminer with CGwatcher so I downloaded the modded CGminer in the OP and just replaced all the original files with all the zip files in my E:\Cgminer folder. Modded the configuration file as well with the appropriate changes (proper pool and lower thread concurrency) which are not seen below. Started CGminer it just didn't work.

Code:
{
"pools" : [
{
"name" : "Dogecoin - Suchcoins",
"url" : "stratum+tcp://us.suchcoins.com:3333",
"user" : "xxx",
"pass" : "xxx",
"pool-priority" : "1"
},
{
"name" : "Foxcoin - Luckyminers",
"url" : "stratum+tcp://stratum-eu.fox.luckyminers.com:3333",
"user" : "xxx",
"pass" : "xxx",
"pool-priority" : "0"
}
],

"scrypt" : true,
"gpu-threads" : "1",
"intensity" : "16",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"thread-concurrency" : "24000"
}

Foxcoin is being overshadowed by Vertcoins.

Already did. Still doesn't work. The modded CGminer and vertminer is to blame. Spent the last hour trying to fix it but no go. Finally managed to fix it by reverting to CGminer 3.7.2 and now I'm happily mining FOX while I go to sleep for the rest of the night.

If someone can tell me how they got Vertcoin mining it'd be great. It didn't work for me. Also, there's a new miner program called SGminer. It's basically CGMiner but updated and less bugs.

Facing a problem here. CGWatcher is reporting over 500Mh/s mining Vertcoin while generating 0 share acceptance from the pool. Everything is getting rejected. None of my mining settings has changed as I can still mine DOGE and whatever. Everything is getting rejected.
826  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTC] Vertcoin - Adaptive N-factor in Scrypt - No more ASICs on: February 04, 2014, 05:41:41 AM
Does the modded CGminer work with CGWatcher? Does it allow mining other scrypt coins too? Whether they're standard scrypt or scrypt-jane or whatever.

Would be nice if there's a modded CGminer out there that also has the same update as the Vertminer.

i am using vertminer with cgwatcher

under settings point to vertminer (you may have to type it in manually because it only looks for cg miner, but it works)
Can't get Vertminer to work with CGwatcher. Can't create fallback. Nothing Sad

Edit: Ok redownloaded modded CGminer. Works with CGwatcher now. CGWatcher is reporting over 500MH/s mining Vertcoin? That can't be right..

Glad to hear it works with CGwatcher! Can you try mining something other than Vertcoin just to test it out?

Using the internal CPU mining, I don't get a hash output. All I see are over 9000 paws/second. I assume that means it's working?

Oh wait. Joined a pool and now I'm getting a hash rate now. Weird. But I lose more hash with both CPU and GPU mining than just GPU mining, and that doesn't even include the ~100W power consumption increase from CPU mining Sad

Coinium caused a fork apparently. People need to get off Coinium.

Another new developer releasePRERELEASE - same deal, download at your own risk.

Changelog:
- Updated Digging tutorial
- Inbuilt digger now supports GPU Solo/Herd digging.
- Made the progress bar for synchronizing that much more awesome
- Remembered to Update version.

Download Windows Binary
There's a lot of files in there. Do we need every single one? Or just the wallet files? I see a lot of them are related to CGminer and CUDAminer. I assume we need it for solo mining.

Edit: Can't get solo dig to work. It starts then auto stops. Added in thread-concurrency and worksize but still no go.

160 Satoshi... This isn't good..

.conf files go to Roaming right?
Windows?  Full instructions in the readme.txt - click by click. Wink

Yes - AppData/Roaming/catcoin/catcoin.conf
Readme.txt doesn't say anything..

Intro
-----
Catcoin is a free open source peer-to-peer electronic cash system that is
completely decentralized, without the need for a central server or trusted
parties.  Users hold the crypto keys to their own money and transact directly
with each other, with the help of a P2P network to check for double-spending.

Setup
-----
Unpack the files into a directory and run catcoin-qt.exe.

Catcoin-Qt is the original Catcoin client and it builds the backbone of the network.
However, it downloads and stores the entire history of Catcoin transactions;
depending on the speed of your computer and network connection, the synchronization
process can take anywhere from a few hours to a day or more.

Has coinium F&@KED UP? as I have not got any coins even unconfirmed for over an hour and also I have 500-700K/hash (not a lot but should still have AT LEAST some)

Any help?
I'm in the same place - no confirms from the overnight mining.  A couple hours ago we had to re-synchronize some of the pools because there are still too many nodes 'out in the world' using old code.

It will help support the network if everyone makes sure they have good nodes in their catcoin.conf and keep your wallet's running.  Thanks!

But if you're on latest wallet, then I hear you don't need the Catcoin.conf right? Especially since I'm on latest wallet and don't have a .conf.

On the coinium frontend i can now see:

Net Hashrate: 0.22 GH
Pool Hashrate: 146.93 MH

Why are you guys still promoting your pool, when you are obviously holding more then 50% of hashrate? I dont get it.

they're not promoting. people need to move on their own.

To where? We don't even know what is the correct block and the developers haven't said anything. I'm dumping this.

Lol, you've bean threatening to pump and dump this since before the fork. Get rid of it already so I don't have to listen to you, you're pissing me off.

It's not forked fromw aht we can tell, we've been watching it pretty closesly and noticed the coinium discrepancy some time ago.

From raistlinthewiz directly at coinium:

His front end lagged a bit. Calm down.

Thanks for the clear up. That's a bit more reassuring then.

Is anyone else having DOGE deposit delays on cryptsy? I sent it yesterday and it's still not in there.

Status: 154 confirmations
Date: 1/31/2014 17:30
Why are you using cryptsy? It's terrible.

Can somebody confirm current block = 21506
21503 on Coinium. Wallet doesn't say. Looks like we forced a fork. LOL
