Let us just all hope that we will be able to withdraw our XCR soon.

Hey Passion_ltc

Is development on 0.2.0 almost complete? When will you guys start work on Custom Blockchains? I'm not trying to put pressure on you guys or spread fud etc, etc., but my real concern for XCR at the moment is that the launch of Ethereum is less than a month away.

Ethereum (https://ethereum.org/) will arguably offer a lot more features and functionality than Crypti. With Ethereum, as far as I know of, you can use Ethereum as a platform to create virtually anything, DAC's, marketplaces, file storage networks etc. My question is how does Crypti compare to the likes of Ethereum?

When I first invested in Crypti I knew that had Crypti launched before Ethereum, with Custom Blockchains, Crypti could've attracted a lot of developer interest, however due to the massive delays that Crypti has faced, I don't see that as a possibility anymore. What is Crypti's plan currently to attract both investor and developer interest once Ethereum has launched? Becuase if Ethereum launches before Crypti, it will fill the void in the market which Crypti would've filled.

The next question then is what is Crypti's reason to exist if Ethereum launches with more features and functionality than Crypti. What does Crypti offer that Ethereum doesn't?

A bunch of serious questions here. Let's see what Passion_ltc will say.

Hi there,

I was always interessted on Bitcoin but now I want to try some Altcoins and see how things goes . What is basically the best one ?
Most of people tell me Litecoin or Darkcoin , Do you think that Darkcoin have a future ?

~ Madness

The ones with new source:
1. NXT
2. Bitshares
3. Crypti
4. Nodecoin
5. Qora
6. Vanilla
7. ...

Ok, but that still leaves my question unanswered. How do we measure that the coin is really worth something, and further out of these worth something, which is the most promising one? Is having a new code better than taking the old Bitcoin code and improving it?
Should that be the only criterion?

I think there should be a team which will continuously develop the given source code, add new features.

right now im betting nxt for the long run as they are developing services on top of the platform at blazing speed compared to any other coin I've seen right now. the only contender i feel to be a threat is ethereum as they do have large amounts of following and developers waiting to build on top of that platform. i see it as a race to acquire the top devs to create the "kill app" or the "facebook" app of the crypto world where everyone would use it even those not familiar with crypto. its this holy grail app/service that sits on top of the blockchain that would really skyrockect bitcoin along with an "innovative" altcoin that implements it. i say go where the devs are and those that show much progress. regardless btc is here to stay as its the gateway to the fiat world. its just which 2.0 crypto will prevail and right now its nxt vs ethereum imo.

Superb post.

I bet Cryptsy exchange is the next one. That's why they don't update wallets.

--------------

I think may be the crypti strategy is right. In investment I heard this rule: "Scale profits, not losses". So why to began to promote XCR actively, when there is no product which "grows by itself" ? If Crypti team will create some feature which will attract users without ad - that's the point to start to promote hardly. It's more natural thing, but from investors point of view it takes good patience skill.

one part of the coins in limbus (waited months for bter but nothing happened) and the rest still on bter  Tongue
hope they will not disappear, don't know are there already alternatives planned, if .. yes if bter just disappears (hopefully not)?

We have had internal discussions on how to react to "the Bter Problem".    As of now, the decision is to wait and see what they do, as the ball is in their court.   Also, we are just one of about 90 coins that are affected.  It is a long line.

The slowness of Bter's response to enable withdrawals of any coin, indicates to me that they are lacking in leadership, and that they either do not have any set plan or strategy for coin withdrawals, or they do not have the coins and are using delay tactics.

Its not umcommon for exchanges to sell some of the coins into the market to fund their operation, because they know that ALL the coins are never withdrawn, so they can use the average balances for speculation by selling at a hopeful HIGH, and either buying back at a LOW, or waiting for the coin to go dark and its blockchain to disappear from the net.

As the situation changes with Bter, we will be re-evaluating our options.

Why do you think BTER was paying interest for "keeping coins" on the exchange ?  Wink

Everbody is waiting for BTER and DPOS.

I think it must be possible to create BlackJack on CBC  Grin

Waiting on Bter is much like loaning money to a friend, and then he stops returning your calls.

I see on Bter's Titter page that they are trying to use Bitcoinfog service to trace transactions on the BTC blockchain.

as for Blackjack on the CBC........ yes, definitely.......... thats what the CBC's are all about

How's DPOS coming along? Any new updates?

It is in the usual testing right now....... Boris and the Pavels are swatting any bugs they find.

IPO START
- The IPO price will be 0.10 USD per Skycoin, at a fixed Bitcoin price of 240 USD/BTC. So 2400 SKY per BTC.
- We will start with 1 million SKY (1% of total) and then release more over time (between 2% and 10%), once we are sure everything is working.

"A business with terrific economics can be a bad investment if the price paid is excessive." W.Buffett.

Skycoin is superb technology, but it's a terrible investment.

I don't feel using a faucet is in our best interest. I honestly don't see many benefits. The fact that they can be so easily exploited is another problem.
Have we ever thought about running a twitter campaign? I remember a member from pandacoin messaging me and telling me that i would receive X amount of pandacoin for a promo.
I feel like faucets attract members with a low amount of capital, if even that. Who really waits for a faucet...

If we send crypti to people that have expressed interest in similar coins that might get a buzz going for this coin.

"@PND_Tip tip 500 @xxxx Have some Pandacoins Smiley http://pandacoinpnd.org/PND_Tip/"
Oh, it wasn't a promo. It was a tip bot.

If we did something like this with "learn more about crypti @ www.blah.com"

Maybe there is more behind the use of faucets than i know... Any thoughts?

Hello Coinbitz, thank you very much for your suggestion.

I already have some ideas for promotion. Some have something to do with Twitter like you already mentioned, others with Facebook, Bitcointalk and Cryptitalk.

Currently we are in a transitioning process. We went from a not working client to a working and stable client (v0.1.9) with an unwanted consensus mechanism (random selection of forgers). The next step is, to create a consensus mechanism we feel comfortable with (DPOS) and we are doing great steps forward with this. I think we can make more information public in the next two weeks.

After this we finally have a base system we can be proud of. Then we can start the marketing process.

If you want to help out with marketing campaigns or our wikipedia just let me know. I'm currently gathering interested people to create a task force for these kind of things. Smiley

I think of this ad: Tired of mining? Noise? Expensive? Try XCRING! Set up your delegate and get the fees!  Grin
