821  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How greedy you are ? on: July 26, 2015, 08:29:32 PM
The only winners are the people that don't gamble.

Maybe but then some people only gamble what they can afford to lose and are successful in other walks of life, its just fun to them:

823  Economy / Gambling / Re: Is there any PVP based on skill games out there? on: July 22, 2015, 09:04:41 AM
It would be awesome if we can bet for bitcoin for Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft.
Anyone knows any site can do or anyone interested?
if you mean e-sports betting like dota, and yes nitrogensports.eu had some e-sports bet.
but don't know if there is a hearthstone betting game, just check it out.

maybe some mis-understand,
I am not asking to bet on the game,
is looking for making a pool and winner of the game take it all

I don't think there is any site doing that at the moment.

Some people have in the past used this forum to find opponents for other games like 8 ball pool (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=962358.0), and it does work. You could try to do the same thing and create a thread to look for Hearthstone players here.

Its in the works with a few people i think. I noticed agar.io have just added an option where you can create your own games, this makes it possible to manually gamble vs others but its nothing like it being put into the site at default.

Great interview with openbazaar's Brian Hoffman, lead developer

Seems like a top bloke, i think the end product will be solid.
825  Economy / Gambling / Re: Recomended poker rooms (poll version) on: July 20, 2015, 10:42:17 AM
This discussion started in this thread
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1127239.0

But there was no voting mechanism and after a few suggestions I decided to create this one with a poll. You can continue the suggestions and discussion here, and you can add more poker rooms to the poll.

The objective here is to vote on the poker room you would recommend and explain why, so that it's easier for someone to start trying some btc poker rooms, and with the hope that the player base might start growing in some of the best rooms. For now I believe that most btc rooms have a very small player base and there are many rooms out there, so it's hard to choose one that is reliable and trust worthy.

Went with seals although i've not tried out some of the others and heard betcoin is alright.  When i first got into bitcoin i played a bit at seals and the software was decent and traffic was not bad considering Smiley
826  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitfinex took my bitcoins on: July 19, 2015, 08:18:13 AM

Bitcoin being "complex" like this is going to keep people who want simple payment options away from bitcoin.

However bitfinex acted correctly in this case i feel OP.
827  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ebay Forbids Bitcoin for Payments on: July 18, 2015, 03:23:43 PM
On Tuesday, Andy Shroder posted on Reddit that eBay Inc. had removed his merchant listing  because he accepted bitcoin for his products.

Quote from: ebay
Please understand that you mentioned you accept ‘Bitcoin’ as a method of payment. Some online payment companies are fairly new and inexperienced and they do not provide sufficient fraud protection to members. When we review payment methods to determine whether they are allowed on eBay, two key factors that we consider are ‘Security and Safety’ and ‘Ease of use.’ Please do not offer this payment method.

So, 'Hard of use' payment processor is guaranteed for the 'security and safety' and make all customer is comfortable Huh eBay must consider this, again.

In 2013
Quote from: John Donahoe CEO of eBay
It’s a new disruptive technology, so, yeah, we’re looking at bitcoin closely. There may be ways to enable it inside PayPal.

Roll Eyes

Your thought?

This is not a new thing, ebay also prevent a whole bunch of other ways to transact. Its been in the terms and conditions for ages as far as i know.  I dont think ebay are against bitcoin as such its just too complex as a means of trade for average person right now.
828  Economy / Gambling / Re: What percent of internet Bitcoin poker is Luck vs Skill? on: July 18, 2015, 05:34:46 AM
Of course 100% skill you need if you play in fair site. I meant sometimes you find poker site with cheating.

it can never be 100% skill; skill has nothing to do with the cards youre dealt. skill only plays a factor in how you play with the cards youre given to turn a profit in the long run.

I can't agree with you more, that's why those best pro poker players win big tournaments, they have best skills and they are top players in the long term, although there are a few amateur players can win a few tours but can't win in the long term unless they turn pros.

thats where the experience comes into play; even with unlucky deals, the top players should be able to turn even a marginal profit by making the right calls in situations an amateur would have no idea what to do. i suspect that these sorts of people quite literally live for poker though Grin

im agree with you in poker game must know, when you must calls in right situations even you have worst card you still win a pot

untrue; its about knowing when to minimize your losses and not play the hand. given the worse possible situation, its more than unlikely you will lose. if anything you might win the blinds from bluffing, but those are risks, and big risks at that.

sometime bluffing needed but look time and a card . sometime player are too carefully and im sure bluffing it worth to use in good situation. that's my opinion

key word is sometimes here, you should never become too predictable when playing poker, to an experienced player, a predictable player might as well mean youre seeing their cards.

who play poker it will say i can read card or seeing card but my opinion that's just for make your self confidence.

Experienced players will just narrow your hand ranges down from the very beginning to end of hand.  Every betting round gives the shark more information on the fish, they will rarely try and put players on exact hands, its all about ranges.
829  Other / Off-topic / Re: DO YOU HAVE 1 BITCOIN? on: July 18, 2015, 05:31:48 AM
Earning 1 btc isn't too difficult IMO. However, holding onto it might be for some.

Exactly just sign up to a signature campaign for a few weeks and work your butt off, then just dont sell it no matter what.  Anyone of any age can own 1 bitcoin.
830  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [OFFICIAL]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: July 17, 2015, 05:50:08 PM

I've been finding on the bitfinex platform today that orders wont cancel when i've clicked the cancel button, takes constant clicking of cancel and about 15 mins for it to work.

ditto.

Yeah looks like the whole thing is down for everyone now, i actually did find i was having the odd glitch a few hours before it went down so it was coming.

832  Economy / Gambling / Re: Is there any PVP based on skill games out there? on: July 17, 2015, 12:43:29 PM
the best pvp game is primedice by playing dice with others without any house edge and its really easy, you can also use some strategies so its a game of skill too

I guess it depends on your definition of skill, its EV neutral so could be considered to have no skill or luck.  It only costs time to play in EV land so i dont know what that makes it.

primedice's pvp game does not involve any sort of skill; purely luck, might as well be a 2x roll with no house edge if you ask me, which doesnt tie in with what the op was looking for in this thread.

Indeed if any dice site could make PVP as popular as regular dice it would have to be shut down for not making any profit unless they used adverts to fund it or something.
833  Economy / Services / Re: CloudThink.IO Social Campaign - 24 hour payouts - Daily Bonuses [CLOSED] on: July 17, 2015, 12:36:48 PM
More than 48 hours for waiting but no reply what is current status of this campaign?

as you can see on the title the campaign is CLOSED. Still waiting for payment tho. Maybe he doen't have the btc yet.

Got about as much chance seeing that BTC as Litecoin over taking bitcoin as the #1 currency within the next month.
834  Economy / Gambling / Re: What percent of internet Bitcoin poker is Luck vs Skill? on: July 17, 2015, 07:33:35 AM
When you play online (not against human), it's 75% luck & 25% skill since most online poker is rigged.
Even while you're playing online against human, you couldn't know if other players are cheating or work together with casino owner.

I prefer playing with another human since, it's 75% skill & 25 luck

Online games are probably rarely rigged, at the big sites i doubt any games are rigged.  They already are taking rake no need to cheat. As for collusion and bots yeah that will happen, some people you can still beat like this.  Its all about picking the right games online.

it is not about the game being rigged or not. if it is rigged then all bets are off, and there is no chance and all is losing.
about a fair game, the thing is when you play poker with a human there are emotions involved than can help you win or lose. but when playing against a bot it is all logic so it is completely luck based.
this is more understandable when you are playing with a human face to face. that is what the term "poker face" comes from.

Yeah live poker does requires other skills to be successful for sure, like body language reading capabilities.  Online you can still work out certrain things vs humans online like timing tells etc.  Vs a bot online if you stick with NL games they are still beatable.

@OP There aren't too many skill based gambling games as people suspect that they might get abused using bots and all, if you search this subsection, I think there was a guy offering 8 ball Pool game in a thread, you can try to see if he's still up for it and if you think you can defeat him at that.

Edit: This is the thread I think https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=962358.0

FYI...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=962358.0

but I think is hard to find the players...

Yeah its not a smooth process unfortunately.  Im still waiting for one of the guys who said they were building agar.io for bitcoin gambling skill game.  Thinking its still in the works.
837  Economy / Services / Re: CloudThink.IO Social Campaign - 24 hour payouts - Daily Bonuses [CLOSED] on: July 16, 2015, 06:09:39 AM
Still waiting for my payment. Just be patient guys, admin says he will pay until he can. It means he's still working on the bitcoins to pay us.

Probably wasn't the best idea to have 24 hour payouts in the title me thinks, think its been perhaps 48 hours already for me.
838  Economy / Gambling / Re: Good and relatively safe dice strategy? on: July 15, 2015, 05:19:27 PM
Hi, I want to know what's the best strategy when playing dice if I have 10 BTC bankroll and want to make 40 BTC.
I know only Martingale, and that's bullshit strategy so I was just randomly betting and lost so much.

Best thing you can do is bet 10 BTC on a 25%er 1 in 4 chance single bet.  This way you limit your exposure to the house edge the most.  After that all you need is luck Smiley

The poker games owner can be playing as a player also . They can register in the freerolls or GTD tournament so they can get some of the prize and that will save some of their money from holding freerolls and GTD.

Its possible at smaller sites yes for sure, i doubt it happens at bigger sites as its just not worth it.  You risk reputation and your whole business if someone catches you and people can work out if you are cheating without even seeing your cards.  There have been times on other sites where players have worked out other players were colluding before the site even worked it out, 1 famous time i can think of was this case involving well known player, search: stoxtrader/stoxpoker cheating etc.

I would be surprised even if a site like seals would have the time/would want to risk to cheat certain games - there would have to be a decent stake game to make it worth while.
