821  Economy / Economics / Re: If there was no fiat where will BTC base its value? on: August 07, 2016, 04:16:10 AM
I was thinking that every bitcoiner wants a world without fiat, only bitcoins. Ok, if there was no fiat whatsoever, then where do you think will bitcoin base its value? Will it be in gold? But how much?

How do we determine the real value measure of bitcoin in an economy that has been very dependent on fiat?

You just need a measure of value. It can be anything - an iPhone, Big Mac or grams of gold.
People have been trading and using money long before there was fiat currency, in fact long before there were any governments.
822  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC at $500 means that I am finally in the green, others too? on: August 07, 2016, 04:14:40 AM
I would be in the green right now but cryptsy stole a big chunk of what I had. I don't know if I will every recover completely, but I'm trying to accumulate as much as I can before the price goes up again.

Cryptsy expects to repay losers in the long run, although people will have to take a discounted value of their assets now. This is better than getting Goxed. You at least have some hope for the future.
823  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: August 07, 2016, 04:13:07 AM
It looks like this match may end in a draw because only one day match left and England haven't declared yet. Unless England bowlers do some magic then they can try to win this match . Otherwise, it is a draw match.

In another match between New Zealand vs Zimbabwe second test. NZ already scored 329 runs just for the loss of two wickets, and it looks this match also they are going win with very big margin.

Yes, this match looks like it will end in a tame draw. Pakistan had a sizeable first innings lead, but they couldn't force the advantage. England did will in the second innings, but have been way to cautious. They don't look like they can take 10 wickets in a day.
824  Economy / Speculation / Re: $2k in january on: August 06, 2016, 03:03:18 AM
i think it might be achievable, though anything is possible with the price so i wouldnt pay too much expectation into it right now
yes, you're right, but this time the price of bitcoin down far enough. bitcoin prices must rise to the height before the end of the year and reached a price of $ 1000 or more, because it is very difficult to reach $ 2,000 in January, if the price of bitcoin unstable for now. There is the possibility of bitcoin prices will not arrive at the price of $ 1,000 before the end of the year, but I hope it does not happen, I expect the price of bitcoin until the price of $ 1,000 before the end of the year

I used to think the bitcoin price could be $1000 by the end of this year. But it could be $1000 some time next year.

The Ethereum DAO hack and the Bitcoin Bitfinex exchange will reduce people's confidence in crypto currency.

While Bitcoin has an impact on other cryptocurrencies, the reverse is not true.
The Ethereum DAO issues (or other alt currencies' problems) have limited impact on Bitcoin.
825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: August 06, 2016, 02:56:54 AM
Australia with that kind of poor performance has no chance to win this match because target is very big. Sri Lanka on home ground doing magical bowling which take Australia in problems as it has been lost 3 wickets into 2nd innings. I feel tomorrow will be final day of this match and before lunch Sri Lanka will win this match.

I agree even though I'm an Australian and want to see my team win but I can't see it happening and I also think it will be all over on day 3. For Australia to have any chance they will need Smith and Warner to at least make 150+ run partnership and one of them will have to be there at the end, more so Smith because he is a better player of spin bowling.

As Australia's coach Lehmann said, Australia lost the mind games as well. After losing to Pakistan, they are now floundering against spin in Sri Lanka as well. This doesn't look like a champion Australian side.
826  Economy / Economics / Re: Companies that pay in Bitcoin ? on: August 06, 2016, 02:53:53 AM
Recently there was an article in newspaper that some It company in Ireland is paying a part of the paycheck in Bitcoins. I forgot the name of the company but I think more and more such copmanies might follow their example.

Once you have service providers like bitwage established in your country, any company will be able to pay you in Bitcoin.
It is no big deal really.
827  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good idea to buy bitcoins now? on: August 06, 2016, 02:52:29 AM
yes that is a fact that after a panic selling when the price of bitcoin has fell down to a very very low level and now the price of bitcoin is now rising again so i think it is such a good chance of buying bitcoin in such a low price, as there is no bad news in the market about bitcoin and the previous selling was because of the hacking news of bitmixer, but now the situation become normal and bitcoin will very soon cover its previous position therefore i think buying bitcoin in present price is too good,

It wasn't really panic selling. Bitcoin markets react badly to hacks, especially if they involve big exchanges.
The price is still significantly below the halving levels.
828  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much drop this week? I WAS RIGHT!!! A DROP FROM 665 to 635!!! on: August 01, 2016, 04:06:24 PM
Time to buy BTC is when it looks ded.

It doesn't look dead now by any stretch of imagination.
If you wait till BTC looks 'dead', you may have to wait forever.  Smiley
829  Economy / Economics / Re: Why better tech can't kill Bitcoin on: August 01, 2016, 04:05:10 PM
The evolution is changing over time who knows if BTC still expand or destroy, nevertheless bitcoin will continue to be used in the next few months or years because of the stability, popularity and usefulness of it.

The better technology will help the bitcoin as the bitcoin is evolving all the time. It can adopt better technology.

Simple ideas like increasing the blocksize generate so much acrimony.
It would be interesting to see better technology get adopted by the consensus mode.  Tongue

India here heading for another win. West Indies performing poor and the series going on the hands of INdia. A 162 runs lead with 5 wickets remaining. India would bat all day long in the third day and might declare and the end. Hope fully they would not even need to play 2nd innings.
I think Today India will get all out very soon because, If WI bowlers pick early wicket today then other players are bowlers so WI will take those wickets very quickly. But India has 99% chance to win this match. It all depend on WI second innings. Still, 3 more days left so This game will not end with Draw.

Rahane has crossed 50 and the Indian batsmen seem in no hurry.
If they play so carefully, it is unlikely that West Indies will take the remaining wickets closely.
831  Economy / Economics / Re: RBS: Sell everything on: August 01, 2016, 03:59:44 PM
Omg really 16 dollar per barrel omg that is crazy destruction price.I think that price will not go so low.If that happent it will destroy world economy very fast and it can caude man wars because of crises.Better go up.

A lot of oil wells will stop pumping before we reach those levels.
$25-$30 is the absolute bottom as far as marginal cost of production of oil is concerned.
832  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can bitcoin rise up to 800$ this year ? on: July 31, 2016, 02:29:00 AM
Its possible, but i think that we saw year´s higher weeks ago

There was a run up prior to the halving and we are in consolidation mode now.
But there is still time for another bull run this year.  Smiley
833  Economy / Speculation / Re: Calm before the storm? on: July 31, 2016, 02:21:42 AM
In recent days, the price had significant resistance in the $ 655 level. Apparently it's consolidating around this value.

Nope. Just going down further. Don't hold onto illusions.

You have been saying the exact same thing when the price reached the $400 level, remember? While you have been advicing people to sell their coins as we were heading towards the $200's according to you, you must look at the current price.... Just admit that you have been wrong.

Just because a conman is successful at pulling of his scam doesn't mean it's not a scam set up to fail/get exposed eventually.

Bitcoin is fundamentally flawed and can't work as it doesn't scale nor offers any usable anonymity.
Worse, everybody ignores this and don't care to fix it.

The scalability factor will get fixed sooner or later.
There are plenty of alts which offer superior privacy and are scalable, but still Bitcoin is miles ahead of them in terms of valuation.
834  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people keep saying BTC is dead?! on: July 31, 2016, 02:12:03 AM
Some people short the bitcoin and say the bitcoin is dead, they want the bitcoin price to drop and buy back.

Mere statements are not going to make a difference.
We know that the markets don't listen even when the leaders of countries try to talk their currency up.  Smiley
835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: July 31, 2016, 02:07:53 AM
India are in a really strong position now, west indies are no match with the indian team right now in both batting and bowling india is looking a really strong team as compared to west indies.

West Indies has to do something for their test team because they were not able to survive just two seasons today and look at india now they almost coverd the lead in very first day looking forward to another easy win.

WI batsman looks like they are playing T20 matches not a test match. No one wants to spend some time on the pitch to build a decent score. Everyone seems in a hurry to hit and go. I thought at least in this second test they may give a tough time to India to win this second match also, but it looks like India can win this match also very comfortably.

WI performance has been pathetic.
No wonder the bookies offered odds of 12:1 for a WI win.
There seems to be no possibility of WI getting their act together for 5 days.
836  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: July 30, 2016, 12:42:23 PM
I have feel pity on Zimbabwe as they are going to have another lost match in their portfolio. New Zealand has 379 runs lead if it finishes its inning now then too easily will win by an innings. They just want to be sure as there is still time so they will keep playing before invite Zimbabwe to start them 2nd innings. Sri lanka needed one victory and against Australia is huge thing to defeat it.

Zimbabwe really didn't stand a chance against a major team like New Zealand.
They should schedule matches with Bangladesh and possibly West Indies.
837  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you quit your day job to go full time on bitcoin? on: July 30, 2016, 11:42:35 AM
Bitcoin will always be just a side income to me and I will never ever quit my day job. I can see a big future with bitcoin but it will still my only source of extra income. I'll earn more with my job today + earning bitcoin online, and that makes me happy onmy daily life.

Yes, that extra boost that Bitcoin provides can be helpful for dealing with miscellaneous expenses.
You need a stable job to take care of regular expenses.
838  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: July 30, 2016, 11:40:45 AM
Comprehensive win for Sri Lanka over Australia. There were some anxious moments for Sri Lanka but in the end, they managed to win.
Surprised to see that they have only won once before against Australia.
839  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to motivate women to use Bitcoin? on: July 30, 2016, 09:18:00 AM
LOL!! funny topic..  Just let them know that they will be able to buy gucci bags and designer dresses. Thats it.,...No more motivation will be required..

Simply put forward what they will be able to buy and they will start controlling bitcoin. as simple as that!

Their boyfriends' credit cards are more than sufficient for those gucci bags.  Tongue
We need more women bitcoin role models.
840  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Putting money in lottery is gambling too? on: July 30, 2016, 09:14:15 AM
Hello everyone, so I joined freebitcoin about a week ago, I can afford to buy around 500-1000 lottery tickets. But when I see last round the first winner has just 120 tickets but other winners got 10000+ tickets, if I buy around 1000 tickets, will it be worth and is it like gambling? Will it be addictive? Guys please tell me that lottery is second form of gambling or not?

Lottery is the most basic form of gambling.
It helps if the winning number/ticket is chosen in a provably fair way.
