So, like most other western nations?

No. The situation in the other countries is not this bad. But recently I have been noticing worrying signals in these countries as well. Here are some of the examples from outside the Scandinavia.

From Italy:

http://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2015/06/17/italian-families-protest-forced-cross-dressing-of-schoolchildren/

From Maryland:

http://nationalreport.net/maryland-middle-school-requires-children-cross-dress-lgbtq-appreciation-day/

I won't give you too much shit for this, there are a lot of factors to blame for this kind of thing happening so often, but a glance over the front page should have been a clue. Perfect example of confirmation bias. Don't let your hatred blind you to the truth.

He'll wait for the next major issue and use it to push his agenda again.
823  Other / Politics & Society / Re: America, here's your bern notice. on: September 27, 2015, 01:56:53 AM
Can you even imagine it? A socialist United States versus a capitalist Russia and China. The cold war will start once again, between the socialist and the capitalist sides. In the end, the socialist entity (i.e the US) will disintegrate, with the conservative states such as Texas, Mississippi, Missouri, Utah, and Idaho seceding from the Union.

Typical conservative warmongering, that believes America needs to be the World Police.

In a 2 party system, its close to impossible to choose a candidate who we agree on each and ever issue...
Bernie Sanders IMHO seems like the most logical choice for the next president of the United States.

Bravo to the OP for including an easy to read summary of a few of his main positions.
A longshot i see somewhere down the road, is Gavin Newsom of California.
This guy is a forward thinker and seems to be genuine in his efforts to help the majority.

As of right now, Bernie has my vote and support, Hillary is shady as shady gets....and the circus of candidates on the GOP side laughable at best.

Thanks, I was unsure if I should include the images or not, but it does get the point across faster.

I used to vote republican, but the current state of the GOP has scared me away, and many others I know.

"Chomsky assessed the political landscape: "Today’s Democrats are what used to be called moderate Republicans. The Republicans have just drifted off the spectrum. They’re so committed to extreme wealth and power that they cannot get votes ... So what has happened is that they’ve mobilized sectors of the population that have been around for a long time. ... Trump may be comic relief, but it’s not that different from the mainstream, which I think is more important.""

824  Other / Politics & Society / Re: GAY MEN WANT KIM DAVIS BACK IN JAIL on: September 27, 2015, 01:52:51 AM
She's an elected official, she refuses to do her job, refuses to resign, she can't be fired, thus ends up in jail. I don't think she deserves to be in jail but she needs to leave her religious bullshit at the door where it belongs. Religion has no place in politics, it's just a convenient smokescreen to excuse bigotry and hatred.

Really?  Apply this principled approach universally or not at all.

State officials really need to follow the Federal Drug Laws, don't they, and arrest any and everyone in possession of or selling marihuana.

According to YOUR PRINCIPLES.

That's a dumb argument, smoking weed is totally like a specifically consitutionally protected act like marriage. If you want to make that argument then say something like

"Then those that issued same sex marriage licenses when it was illegal should be arrested as well!" example

And then I would say, I already said I don't think she belongs in jail.

Not going to cry over it either though. Bigots who support laws based on bigotry should expect backlash.

America's radical shift to the left has begun. It's already too late. Nothing can stop it now.

https://i.imgur.com/cjbY0nE.gif[/img]

Republicans, libertarians, and old people in general are going to be completely losing their minds over the course of the next 5-10 years as capitalism dies and we begin creating a new more compassionate civilization within the corpse of the old one.

http://i1.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/232/757/199.jpg[/img]

There will be blood. So much goddamn blood.

No, capitalism isn't going to die. America has always had a blend of economic policies, and always will. People pretending Bernie is about Socialism vs Capitalism (and he's a democratic socialist anyway, there's a difference) are distracting from the real issues, issues that scare them for whatever reason, or just because they don't want a dem in office due to party loyalty.

A president cannot legislate and tax, it still needs to come through Congress and the Senate, and radical socialist economic policies would never make it through anyway, even if it's democratically controlled.

What people are really interested in, are his foreign policies, and his positions on civil liberties. He speaks strongly and straightforward, and has the voting record to back it up.

A president who is commited to ending the war on drugs, stopping out of control military spending, dismantling the security state, ending warmongering, end corporate financing of candidates, list goes on and on. That's someone I can get behind.
826  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Pope Compares Trans. To Nuclear Weapons: ‘Don’t Recognize Order Of Creation" on: September 26, 2015, 05:58:59 AM
This was more palatable, when compared to his canonization of the baby killer Junípero Serra a few days ago. And IMO, the trannies are even worse than the nuclear weapons. Hiroshima and Nagasaki survived the nuclear bombs, and these cities are booming yet again. But trannies will make sure that the entire civilization is destroyed.

Lol. And how will they go about doing that? That's insane.

BTW, 200k didn't survive the nuclear attacks. To say nothing of the effects on those who survived and their kids.

They're "destroying the moral fabric of society" or some bullshit, they're the same type of people that think sex is a shameful thing. Gender is an outdated concept and slowly becoming irrelevant, and that scares them.

Sorry for the bunch of images, but it's the quickest way to get his stance on most of the major issues across without a giant wall of text.

He has a lot of good ideas, and a solid voting record to back it up. I don't agree with all of them, but that's a two party system for you. And he actually has a chance of winning, unlike the republican candidates.

829  Other / Politics & Society / Trump stumped? on: September 26, 2015, 03:58:24 AM
Donald Trump’s slide in the polls is beginning to look real

Donald Trump still leads the field — but his position has softened significantly. This is the biggest polling average drop he's seen since he first emerged as the Republican front-runner.

Trump loves to cherry-pick polls that show him doing well. He likes to talk about isolated (and iffy) polls that show him doing well with Hispanic and black voters, but those results should be questioned. After CNN released its poll last weekend— the one showing the big drop— he went on Twitter to complain about how he wanted the media to look at more favorable polling — often with shakier or less-proven methodologies.

[...]

But it's rare in recent primary elections for a candidate to suddenly spike, then fade, then spike again. In most cases, the candidate that suddenly spikes never spikes again, with the exception of Newt Gingrich in 2012.

Donald Trump booed by conservative crowd for first time in his campaign

At the Values Voter Summit, a gathering of social conservatives in Washington DC, Trump received an angry response after calling his fellow Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio “a clown”.

Trump later told reporters, “those weren’t boos, those were cheers.”
[...]
The boos weren’t the only negative reaction that Trump got from the audience. When the Republican frontrunner claimed that he won the most recent GOP debate based on polls, an audience member shouted: “No, you didn’t.”

After speaking, Trump left quickly without taking questions from reporters.

I love Trump, he's exposing the republican party for what it is, a bunch of old white, rich, racist, homophobes who care for nothing but how much money they have lining their pockets.

You have described billhillaryclinton perfectly...

Bill Clinton 2008 on Obama: A few years ago, this guy would have been getting us coffee

$Hillary is so far right, she might as well be a republican. Lofuckingl that you think comparing that douchenozzle to Trump in any way validates him.

Trump is the best of the republican candidates, but that isn't saying much. His polls are dropping drasticaly as people get tired of the negativity and people bashing coming from him and the rest of the GOP. They need to focus on the issues more, instead of crying about how they hate poors, browns, and healthcare. Republicans won't win the white house anytime soon though, they've alienated the general public too much.

Most of my friends are content to be bums. They don't really think about the future.

Happy posting! https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1027518.0

P.S. Can you please lock this thread for now?

What does that thread have to do with this? Why do you insist on spamming every thread with useless replies?
838  Other / Meta / Re: A letter to the members of Bitcointalk forum... from a member... on: April 17, 2015, 05:52:14 AM
This isn't a discussion forum anymore, it's just a place for spammers to congregate and spam their ads at each other. That and scams, ponzis, mlm's, and faucets. It's kinda sad seeing what it's become, and even mods participate, support, and even run some of the pay for spam campaigns.
839  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: March 16, 2015, 05:06:28 AM
Community? Are you serious? It's just people begging others to buy in so they don't lose their own money, and spamming their referral links. Bunch of fucking idiots.
840  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BurtW arrested on: March 16, 2015, 02:42:19 AM
Keeping money around is not at all odd, especially if you are of the political leaning that BurtW is, though I would have expected PM's instead. Though that seems to have fallen out of favor recently.
