Wow this alt forum gets flooded quickly. BUMP
822  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is CampBX a ripoff? on: May 17, 2013, 02:47:06 AM
As far as the OP is concerned; if one cannot afford to loose $10,000 then why on earth would you let the balance get that high before trying to initiate a transfer or withdraw?  Bottom line is, all of these companies (Mt Gox, BTC-e, Bitstamp, Camp BX, etc.) are exchanges, they are not banks, use them as such at your own risk.  Wink

Exactly.

I think we need to pool some funds together and make this quote a PSA ad on this forum.

People, these are institutions that are pioneering a market that is only a few years old! There WILL be issues, LOTS of issues. NEVER let your account balances get uncomfortably high. Withdraw EVERYDAY if you must. The fees are worth the piece of mind.

Now I am not defending CBX at all. They clearly need to hire some support staff because when people are having issues with their money they panic and that is totally understandable. CBX needs to realize that. Hiring 10-20 customers service reps is not going to send them into bankruptcy and it will certainly make the customers happier. Having Keyur on here is good but they need to do more.

But again, read the words I quoted.
823  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Looking to buy TRC/PPC/NVC/NMC/FTC/CNC on: May 17, 2013, 02:18:10 AM

824  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Any escrow agents online with BTC-e and Vircurex accounts? on: May 16, 2013, 11:52:59 PM
I will compensate you for your time, of course.
825  Economy / Trading Discussion / CLOSED on: May 16, 2013, 11:46:06 PM
I am trying to complete this trade with this guy on BTC-e but I cannot find anyone to perform escrow. I am sending him my VouchX code for his BTC-e code.

I would like someone to do escrow. We would send our codes to the escrow agent simultaneously, then the agent would redeem the codes on both sites, verify the amounts then generate new codes to send to us.

Any respected escrow agents available who can do this?
826  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Deposit to BTC-e through OKPAY on: May 16, 2013, 10:59:24 PM
Calm down guys.

Like someone in here already said, OKPAY should be back next week.

Check the news feed on BTC-e.
827  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [WTB] Litecoins ASAP on: May 16, 2013, 10:53:32 PM
UPDATE:

For all you PayPal'ers I can send USD to you via Bitinstant. I don't have a PayPal account but many people do.

I will send $381 USD for 160 LTC.

Lets go!
828  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [WTB] Litecoins ASAP on: May 16, 2013, 10:43:44 PM
I'll do this for moneypak. 1:1. Escrow accepted.

Can't do a MoneyPak right now.

Bump.
829  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [WTB] Litecoins ASAP on: May 16, 2013, 09:53:45 PM
I am looking to purchase 160 LTC at slightly below market value.

I have $410-$415 of Mt.Gox USD, Bitstamp USD or Liberty Reserve USD. $5 Range is depending on which currency you choose.

I can also do a VouchX coupon for for the same amount range.

Of course, I always welcome escrow. Or if you are a newer member you can simply send first.

832  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: U.S. residents no more Dwolla + MtGox now what? on: May 15, 2013, 11:46:50 PM
I've never liked using Gox because of all their send me your birth records BS. Just do a Bank Wire direct to your BTC-e account and then buy btc. You could also use Liberty Reserve.

BTC-e is in the Republic of Bulgaria so I'm pretty sure they don't give a shit what the US gov does. LOL

Huh? You sure about that direct bank wire thing? Last time I checked bank wire was a WITHDRAWAL method, not a deposit method.

Maybe they don't any more. It's still a funding option on the website.

Nah. You may want to check that again. Just to be clear, we are talking about US Dollars, correct?

If so, you got:

Interkassa- The chick on the website is cute but this service is clearly not intended for us dumb Americans
Perfect Money- E currency with some high fees (they did lower them though)
Bitinstant- LOL @ this option. Why do they even tease people with this? Bitinstant does not send USD to BTC-e. Check their site.
OKPay- Huh Coming back soon maybe? They said this week now it's next week.

Anyway, moving away from our discussion, I think BTC-e is pretty safe from the bullshit. Getting USD on is an amazing feat if you can pull it off and getting USD off will probably cost you your left pinky finger by the time all of the fees and exchange rates take turns spanking you.

834  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Using BitInstant to transfer money to a bitcoin address, using cash at CVS on: May 15, 2013, 11:19:11 PM
keeron is a nice guy for writing out those instructions, but you guys still seem confused. Don't worry, happens to all of us at some point or another. Here is the super-simplified instruction manual for Bitinstant new-comers:

1. Set up a wallet at blockchain.info. IT IS FREE AND EASY
2. Click the blue CASH DEPOSIT button
3. Fill out the form. Choose CVS from the list of stores
4. Print out the confirmation page
5. GO TO CVS
6. Pick up the red phone
7. Follow the instructions. YOU ARE NOT SENDING MONEY TO A PERSON. YOU ARE PAYING A BILL
8. When the call is done go to the register with cash
9. Tell the cashier you are paying a bill
10. The cashier will ask your name. TELL THEM YOUR NAME
11. Fork over the cash
12. Keep your receipt
13. GO HOME. Check your blockchain.info wallet. YOU SHOULD HAVE BITCOINS

Voila, magic.
835  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A New Model for a LEGAL US Bitcoin Exchange (Beanie Babies to the Rescue!) on: May 15, 2013, 08:35:24 PM
No exchanges = no significant commerce in BTC.  Period.

If we had as much faith in bitcoins as we do in the dollar, we would not need to convert them to dollars at all.

My heart wants to agree with bitrebel. In a perfect world, Bitcoin is as widely accepted as the dollar or euro and we have no need to cash out.

But my brain tells me that DeathAndTaxes is right on. The above may never happen (or not in our lifetimes) and there will always be the need to cash out.

Then, the bigger issue is how does one even obtain BTC without exchanging for fiat? You could mine, but that's really only for a niche group of people. Earl Bud-Light-Six-Pack isn't going to fire up the ol' mining rig and wait for coins to be generated so he can pay his child support in coins.

In the end, an exchange may ALWAYS be necessary.

838  Economy / Goods / Re: Cuba's Havana Club Rum-Anejo Especial *Their Premium Rum* NOT Available in US on: May 15, 2013, 02:41:53 AM
Do you have the mid-tier Havana Club rum?

Also, can you get Cuban cigars?
839  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [WTB] Your Bitcoins with Cash Bank Deposit on: May 14, 2013, 11:42:41 PM
Well banks are closed for the day in my area, so no more cash deposits today.

Anyone looking to sell some BTC right now? I'm willing to pay BTC-e current price -2% for the rest of the evening.

I can load a MoneyPak card with cash and take a pic of the receipt if you like. All you PayPal guys can use MoneyPak's as well. Just load the code onto your account and voila, magic.

Escrow welcomed as well.

Trying to buy between 2-4 BTC.
