8261  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Need help retrieving BitCoin Cash (BCH) on: November 27, 2017, 06:12:00 PM
Yes you need electron cash and import the private keys but only use the bitcoin address from your electrum because your bitcoin is there during bitcoin cash fork..
So you should export private key from the bitcoin address (electrum) and import it in electron cash.
Here is the guide to claim  your bitcoin cash https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2054046.0
8262  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: tx only visible at blockchain.info - not at blocktrail.com etc. on: November 27, 2017, 06:04:58 PM
I think its normal they have a different requirements and Explorer only shows if the transaction is inside the mempool, Nodes can choose any transaction that they wanted to add in their mempool based on their miners fee. Also i think miners fee is also the reason why its no appearing in blocktrail..
If your priority is low expect that it won't show in other explorer.
8263  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Newbie questions about antminer S9 and bitcoin on: November 27, 2017, 05:45:47 PM
Never heard that bitcoin developers will change bitcoin to shutdown asic.. thats impossible to happen and the number 1 could be affected is the network all transaction can be stuck or slow..
And buying antminer could be profitable with the current difficulty and price but anytime difficulty and price could increase or decrease but you are in good decision..
8264  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Overclock AntMiner S9 14th/s on: November 24, 2017, 11:55:18 PM
Overclock S9 is possible. Note you will damage your chips if you get wrong and will kill miner!
Best to leave set at standard with overclocking issues can show more HW/Error /Reject +more issue can happen.

Stick to standard unless you are feeling brave.

Asicworld

I have previous experience with overclocking CPUs and GPUs. I think that I have all prereuisits for overclocking - reliable 2000W power supply, cold place (15 Celsius degree or less) where the minner is placed. I will monitor the temperature of the chips and fan speeds.

My main fear is Do I have a way to return the old frequency to the device in case it does not work?

For example when I overclock CPUs I can make hardware reset with jumpers of the motherboard bios setting. As result the device start wotking normally with default settings.

Can I do the same with AntMiner or if the configuration is wrong the whole miner will die without way to restore default configuration?

Yes there is a reset that can restore  default your s9 miner you can found  the reset near to ethernet but first you need to wait for 2 minutes afte bootup before you can reset it tp default config..
There is also other way to reset that can be called soft reset just login to control panel and goto upgrade  you can see the reset to default and perform the reset..
Hope that it can help you to reset your hardware if ever you made a wrong setup then just do a reset... make sure that everything is fixed in the socket because there are sometimes having a firmware fault when resetting..
8265  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: 12 words to valid bitcoin address with PHP on: November 24, 2017, 11:34:44 PM
What honestly you plan in your website? you wanted to make your own web wallet and offers to other users?
I think you can make your own web wallet with JSON-RPC i was honestly hardly to do these when making website in php. i have less knowledge in php i just uses the other command that recommends to me before.. .
Here is the wiki that i use before https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/API_reference_(JSON-RPC)
And i think it can help you about your plan..
And here is for PHP developer commands https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/PHP_developer_intro

base on command listed there i don't see any that can generate valid bitcoin address for 12 word seed..
For more api call i just added this https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Original_Bitcoin_client/API_calls_list

Everything in online when making website is try and error.. so you can experiment and which command could gives you what you need..
8266  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Free electricity for mining on: November 24, 2017, 11:19:41 PM
Not good if you running hardware mining.. that eats a lot of power .. but if you can invest a lot in solar power maybe it could be enough to stay stable in mining..
Maybe would be the best choice if you mine in GPU mining than asic mining.. But i heard there are other big mining farm are just using the solar as power source in day light but in night they are just switching to normal electricity power.. this would be a great to decrease spending in electricity bill.. since we know solar power are not stable.
8267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Core: data consistency after forced exit during startup? on: November 23, 2017, 11:54:17 PM
If its fully synced it would not be  a problem to test try to send small amount of bitcoin core address but first backup your private keys from bitcoin core.. before sending small amount of bitcoin for testing purposes if  its not working fine  try this command -rescan .. and check your blocks if all are downloaded use this command -checkblocks But its should be automatically check your blocks if its up-to-date.
you may also reindex chainstate
Code:
-reindex-chainstate Rebuild chain state from the currently indexed blocks
-reindex Rebuild chain state and block index from the blk*.dat files on disk
You can see the other command check the source below..

8268  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to complete a old bitcoin transfer from 2013 in the easiest way? on: November 23, 2017, 10:59:14 PM
If you don't want to waste a lot of time downloading the full node better to backup the private keys from your old client and import it into electrum wallet since electrum wallet is lite version you can import  your wallet without downloading the  whole blockchain ..
The miners fee right now is different and the fee is really high unlike before..  you can check the default fee here https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/
8269  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: sent BTC to a new electron cash wallet BCH by accident, can I recover? on: November 23, 2017, 10:28:04 PM
I don't think this can help you get your bitcoin back.. do you have control to the address from your bitcoin cash?
If you have a control to your electron cash wallet you should have the mnemonic seed phrase or backup private key from electron cash and try to import it into electrum..
if you see your balance in electrum you are lucky but if this method not work its your bad luck there is no other way to recover it..
8270  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitmainmasters.com - DON'T BUY - they don't deliver orders on: November 23, 2017, 10:01:12 PM
Not good idea to buy in alternatives sites you should buy hardware only in official website which is  bitmain.com if you buy in other website which is not handle by bitmain it so risky to deal to any website that honestly never heard about that site..
For alternative buying hardware i think amazon will be great alternative if you really wanted for safety and use paypal when buying..
I think better to put this thread in scam  section to inform everyone about this and inform bitcoin about this here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1864920.msg18543129#msg18543129
to inform others about what happen to your order..
8271  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: can Mycelium be forced to connect only to my fullnode on: November 23, 2017, 09:14:36 PM
Hello forum

Can Mycelium wallet be forced to connect only to my fullnode (bicoin core installed with the complete blockchain)? How?

Thank you for your feedback!

Joe
No but i think you can import your private key from your mycelium to electrum as alternative since electrum is light version of bitcoin core..
For more additional info check this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1990211.0
8272  Economy / Speculation / Re: effect of Tether on bitcoin price on: November 23, 2017, 08:43:06 PM
I noticed this few days ago but the price was fluctuate november 21 the price drop a lot but the price was increasing back so i think the effect of this news was already been done..
The price of bitcoin right now is really stable but i feel that those who are still holding usdt token will convert back into bitcoin and expect that the price will increase.. This is just base in my own speculation if what would be the effect of tether in the future..
8273  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum wallet shows incorrect sent amount after importing private keys on: November 23, 2017, 08:30:29 PM
It looks like a bug there is someone having same issue with this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2432149.msg24981964#msg24981964
But the differences you imported your wallet from multibit hd to electrum..
This is i think bug since you are just sending $60 in bitcoin..  You seen sending a large amount from your imported wallet in electrum but in HD wallet is fine?
Can you try to re import it with low version of electrum wallet and maybe it can be fix your issue ..  try to download electrum 2.9.2 its stable wallet for me https://download.electrum.org/
And update us if you fix your issue or not..

Give as the address where the bitcoin from before you send? i'll try to import as watch only if it will display well..
8274  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin for $1 Million !!! In ten years? on: November 22, 2017, 11:47:15 PM
Bitcoin is unpredictable but i can't imagine that the price could increase too high until 10 years .. 1 million usd for 1 btc is impossible to happen base on what i predict.
But since bitcoin is volatile there is possibility that the price of bitcoin can be increase more these following years.
Year by year so see the changes of the price and i think the price of bitcoin can be increase more because its in demand coin and more people are interested in bitcoin..
8275  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mining - Help! on: November 22, 2017, 11:44:13 PM
So if theres some1 willing to help me out ill be glad!
Where is the block they are mining based? Which algorithm and is there an end of it? Or as long as the number grows its never gona stop?
I think better to  search more in google about mining or watch a youtube video about mining so that you can understand more about mining..
There is a pool server that you need to use with the script to mine coins.
For additional understanding about mining check this both site

8277  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Using old XP computer for cold storage - how much longer? on: November 22, 2017, 11:15:16 PM
I'm still using an old XP computer for cold storage and to to sign transactions prior to broadcast. Currently running full install of electrum-2.9.3 using chrome and it currently works great with no problems.

Just wondering how much longer electrum will run on XP and if it's time to set up a cold computer with Ubuntu or some other more modern OS?
It will  depends if you computer gets damage you can be still use electrum even in old  version since the newer version of electrum still not work in old OS like windows 7 and xp.
So your wallet will be still safe until your computer gets damaged.. just always save private keys and seeds for future recovery as backup..
As of now i am still using older version of electrum 2.7.1 and still working unlike the latest version..
8278  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to do face to face trades? on: November 21, 2017, 11:59:03 PM
What do you mean by face to face you mean person to person(p2p trading)?
There is a P2P trading but i really ever experience this type of trading i refer you here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1479445.10
And i think no need to pay for fees according to the thread if your trade person to person..
This will be good to prevent losing in paying fees..

8279  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Aintminer S9 setup in a garage? Please help on: November 21, 2017, 11:30:45 PM
Hi, I am new to mining, and I am going to buy some antminer S9. The plan is to place the miners in my roomy garage, but my garage isnt ACd, I live in Atlanta, GA USA so we have 10 cool - cold months which are from Oct to May, and June to Sep is really hot, temperature is usually around 80- 100F mostly 90F. My garage doesnt have any window, so it could be hot during the summer, ( not as hot as outside) but i can open up the ceiling of the garage, and run some flex duct from the miner's exhaust to the vent on the roof, so that the heat from the miners can be extracted outside of the house, but I am glueless about how i can install an intake fan to my garage, since there is no window at all. I cant really install a window, since it s my parents' house. but the garage does connect with the kitchen which is ACd, but that is not an option also, since it would be too loud and affect our activities. I was just wondering if I could make a fan and some cooper coil to  run iced water thru, in order for the fan to produce much cooler air and point the fan to the miner's intake, instead of installing a window. Please help, thank you Smiley
I think you can buy portable aircoin with 4k BTU will be enough or air cooler that you can put water and ice. its much cheaper.
But if you really wanted to make your own with DIY cooper coil tube with fan maybe this video could help  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6ORgHNvChw
For noise of your miner there is a method in youtube called noise reduction that can reduce the noise of your s9 miner.. check this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbAjh5q1Tzw
And i think you can easily make your own just make the same as in video..
8280  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transaction fee on: November 21, 2017, 10:58:19 PM
It will be hard to know how long your transaction will getting confirm if your wanted your transaction to get confirm sooner better to pay fee  higher than the default fee..
Check this for updated fee chart https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/
And you can also see the default fee below.. If your wallet has option to manually pay for your fee better to follow the default fee or higher than the fee from the link given above.. To get your transaction more faster.
