lol
8302  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL calling "loyal" customers (from +1-866-723-3108) on: November 08, 2013, 12:21:58 AM
So, instead of blasting emails to all those that ordered in the past offering 20% coupons, BFL decided to give a telemarketing firm all the phone numbers of their customers. So much for their ToS stating in no uncertain terms that no information will be sold, given, traded, etc. to ANY third party. Then again, there was no "promise" or cross-my-heart-hope-to-die clause either.

very good point Phinnaeus

My caller indicated that he had access to the entire dataset, including, specifically, physical address.

yes, I don't think there is a way to game this
8304  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - Discussion Thread on: November 07, 2013, 11:44:37 PM
want to make sure I got this straight

created an encrypted wallet on an offline machine

made a backup of it on a USB stick

is it safe now to use that stick for other stuff, plug into internet connected machines, because it is encrypted right?
8305  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL calling "loyal" customers (from +1-866-723-3108) on: November 07, 2013, 10:31:52 PM

8307  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 07, 2013, 09:57:23 PM
Bitcoin value doubled in 3 months

19 times in a row

This is like Moore's law but for Bitcoin.

Maybe we should call it Rpietila's Law Cheesy

I can get behind this.

+1

It appears, sir, you may acquire both fame and fortune

China doesn't seem to know what panic means, all this bear crap is making Bitcoin as tough as nails and multiple big markets are much stronger. This could go a long way.

That's cause pandas aren't really bears.

I actually laughed out loud

fell for the last bear shakeout and lost .6 btc. hanging in through this one. i've learned after 8 months in this game.

Did you notice the recent high of: 324.20?

I missed it. Too busy watching that IBM Finance Exec video on bitcoin.

yeah thanks, no BFL, never again, I could have taken the 9 month schedule slippage and 100% power budget miss in stride, but the incessant lying and abuse has turned me off forever

so the dual chip USB furies are already pointless?
8315  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1100 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees, Stratum, MergedMining, Private Servers on: November 07, 2013, 05:16:17 PM
was thinking more in the $1500 range, 5K seems like a lot for a hashrate that will be pretty modest in mere weeks

Reporting me to the police for being a "terrorist" is something I will never forget.    Grin

So what is the non-pointless mining hardware now?  I have always been small time, but I want to stay in the game.

Ran a trio of 6950s like galley slaves, graduated to a BFL full 60GH single just in the nick of time...it is already making less than the GPUs were.
