That's still not right. That would make it 12,000.

I think you mean 6000 * .5 (50%) = 3000 Smiley
8324  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KnCMiner Openday on: May 31, 2013, 05:16:12 PM
wtf learn math

Wheres the Cheap ASIC for us GPU guys...
I wanna see a $300 ASIC, Maybe $500

Wait 6-12 months. ASIC prices will be forced to drop as their ROI enters 1 year territory. One manufacture will drop their price to increase product sales volume and others will be forced to follow.
But but... 6000 / 50 =3000 I dont have three grand in my pocket

I dont get it. What the hell could they be for then? LTC?
What you're looking for is going to be ages old when gpu mining first started. Search for those keywords and settings vs "guide"

settings for mining BTC? ... thread concurrency, shaders, ...

Those aren't settings for BTC mining.

Thanks for trying to help, anyone else?

I reported USB 3 issues, but it was mostly when using more than a few devices. 1-2 should work fine. But usb 3 is unreliable at this time. Especially with things like mobo drivers trying to add stupid shit like UASP and USB SCSI.

go through each device on zadig ensuring its on winusb

I guess i have to only watch the ghs. But i still dont trust it was hotplugged
and no i didnt unplug them.

check your mhs, they dont always display all devices right now

i THINK the drivers were replaced sucessfully, but cgminer's still throwing the same message.

and now bfgminer doesn't work either - which makes me think two things: oh god i broke it, or yea, the driver is installed.

except bfgminer DOES recognize one of them... which makes no sense to me...

Zadig replaced mine. Make sure to use administrator.
You'll know when your com ports disappear.

call me an idiot, but i still can't get this working. i downloaded the latest cgminer, used zadig to change to winusb... but for the life of me i can't figure out how to remove the ftdi driver.

getting these messages:
[2013-05-31 08:16:34] USB init, open device failed, err -12, you need to install a Windows USB driver for - AMU device 2:11
[2013-05-31 08:16:34] Icarus detect (2:11) failed to initialise (incorrect device?)

Thanks again. Never liked FTDI.

Lol ok, please cater us OCD people. I'll try to ignore it. Ok drivers installed. Everything is perfect but one thing, it hashes with 20 devices but only shows 2.

Ok restarting cgminer finally shows them all. Might be a cache thing or a bug?

I don't know what that means. We aren't even using libusb. Is there a reason someone would use libusb vs WinUSB? And that would be the reason to tell Zadig to use your dll and not theirs?
8336  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGMINER ASIC FPGA GPU overc monit fanspd RPC linux/win/osx/mip/r-pi 3.2.0 on: May 31, 2013, 12:28:35 PM
Wow thats a big change. Thanks. Windows users may find this way harder because they are used to real plug and play.

Windows users, do this. Choose one device and replace it with WinUSB, it will replace all similar devices.

The best solution for this is to use a tool called Zadig to set the driver:
 http://sourceforge.net/projects/libwdi/files/zadig/

This allows you set the driver for the device to be WinUSB which is usually
required to make it work if you're having problems

With Zadig, you may need to run it as administrator and if your device is
plugged in but you cannot see it, use the Menu: Options -> List All Devices

You must also make sure you are using the latest libusb-1.0.dll supplied
with cgminer (not the libusbx version)

Bold: What does this mean? There are 3 options, WinUSB, libusb and libusbK. First it says use WinUSB but the bold says to use libusb. Which one is right?

Yes I already switched to usb 2 because 3 failed at way lower devices.
Do I need to install winusb? What is that? Right now I'm using the latest FTDI driver..
8338  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGMINER ASIC FPGA GPU overc monit fanspd RPC linux/win/osx/mip/r-pi 3.2.0 on: May 31, 2013, 12:16:20 PM
We are able to remove -S now right?
Mine isn't detecting them. I have 20 BLT.

It's actually disconnecting and reconnecting all the USB devices. Some are failing with port reset failed and aren't coming back up.

The thing is permanent domain squatting would be possible with no chance of recovery. Also what if you lose a private key. If it expires you can get it back with a new key.
