It will end up well over 60k .
Remains to be seen how good the staying power will be.
But lots and lots and lots of 60k+ numbers are sweet.
Some days I wonder 💭 will if move over and above ⬆️ 240k by Jan 1 2022
Some days I simply hope for continued sideways action.
Of course I also fear a crash to 20 k or less.
So on an emotional level I really push even keel mindset as much as I can.

Two bits of information that maybe of interest, my apologies if this is old stuff:
1. blockchain.com estimates network hashing rate at 186 EH. Someone is adding a fair amount of hashing power
2. about 6 weeks ago Genesis Mining (owned by Coinbase) raised $431 for expansion; yesterday Coindesk reported that Genesis will be adding 9.4EH to the party in the
next 12 months, and they are probably not the only ones. They are building a new 300MW facility in Texas, suggesting that it could hold up to roughly 85 - 90,000 s19
pro's. I'm guessing they'll be building their own infrastructure, so taking away $31 million means that they would be getting their miners for around $4500, somewhat
less than Bitmain's $11,440. As a business can they offset the 25% import duty added onto Miners against their Texas corporation tax?
At $4,500 small mining concerns are at a huge disadvantage as they don't get any discounts, and with global energy prices starting to rise things can only get worse. It's not
difficult to see that even with cheap hosting at 6c/kWH and a likely 200+ EH going into the new year, a current S19 pro will take well over 2 years to break even.
yep 👍 six cent power is the usual cutoff for mining when things get tightened . Of course a simple price raise to 85k fixes the issue. So stack them while you can boys. |

OT:  The beauty of mining is I modded my garage and it has a 50 amp 240 volt sub-panel along with a 30 amp 240 volt circuit. I am anti coal ,oil and natural gas. As They pollute like mad and have been falsely subsized for 70 years.
but i am a realist and i know they are all needed and will continued to be needed for my remaining years as i am 64 and i figure i got 20-35 years at the most. I also know from working with my partner buysolar that solar ,wind etc have a place in the game. |

As far as I see, a lot of people here are very happy when they read news about this or that bank adopting bitcoin exchange, offering crypto related services or doing something related to crypto.
At some point I understand that people like it because they want to see crypto everywhere but the downside of this is that crypto gets more regulated and I think it losses the magic/spell that it had before. Personally, I think that more adoptions and regulations won't do any good for bitcoin, it will just become a little bit different digital version of fiat. I think as time goes, anonimity, decentralization and these words are fading away and they turn into myths like Greek gods.
the bold type will happen. and anonymity will shrink a lot. Decentralization is gone ended years ago with big pools and asics. I used to mine in-my garage with 22 gpus about 11gh the entire network was 22th so 11000/22000000 is 11/22000 or 1/2000 of the entire network cost was 7kwatts an hour. about 91 cents an hour to mine 1/2000 of the network simply should have mined a few blocks and held them. oh well |

Wondering if anyone knows how reliable these machines are.
I'm looking at purchasing a new one through kaboomracks and have heard many horror stories about the S17's - are these ones supposed to be much better?
They are a very high risk purchase especially buying 1 unit. If the psu dies you can be dead in the water for a month. 100 th is about 37 a day in earnings x 30 = 1110 in earnings lost. yeah it would burn 🔥 2500 kwatts in that month which is 250 usd if you have 10 cent power. but 1110-250= 860 profit lost and cost of a new psu is over 250. so you are back to losing over 1100 for the unit. frankly buying 3 with a spare controller and a spare psu is more rational but is also well over 40000 usd purchase. |

I see someone loosing their nerve.
This is a good time right now look for BTC dips and be ready for them.
I remember end of 2017, early 2018 quite well for this reason. Long-term Bitcoiners (supposedly)... people who'd been in it for years, far longer than me the newcomer, telling me they've lost hope. They saw $20k as the impossible price that was nice to get, and yet ultimately signalled the end. Regulations, the rise of alts, a lack of interest or willingness from institutions or doubletracking from them. It surprised me then, and it surprises me now that people would lose faith after Bitcoin's proven itself time and again. Enjoying every satoshi I can get before the real peak comes. exactly right. Stack the sats and have no fears. I am with you both on this one. I don't know if the OP and others who think like him are concerned because they are thinking of selling. As I am still in the accumulation phase, I prefer the price to go up, but if it doesn't go up I buy cheaper. Everything points to the best is yet to come. I would see the defeatist messages as more logical if we were at the end of December at these levels and without having broken the previous ATH. Yeah lots of negative posts tired of it. We had a nice long up move from july of 2020 for eth. and from sept of 2020 for btc. most of the other coins don’t have a ton of value. Maybe the ltc/doge double coin algo. once again I stress to think crash now is simply too soon. but if we see strong hash rate gain in asic gear I see a possible 2018 repeat 🔂 |
