8341  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Table] Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos on: June 20, 2021, 06:24:08 AM
I guess Rollbit should be added in casinos that charge low minimum withdrawal amounts since their minimum withdrawal amount should be higher than their withdrawal fee.
Considering what the fees were at the time of writing, yeah I could have added them on that list. However, Rollbit has dynamic fees while the other casinos on the list all have fixed/static fees that don't depend on network congestion. That means that the Rollbit fees can be around $1 one day and potentially $10 the other day depending on the state of the mempool. Hence, I think it's better not to put it on the list.

Seems like FJ is listening to their community since they seem to have reduced their minimum withdrawal amount though it needs to be lowered even further in my opinion.
They have? Isn't it still 0.004 BTC? I couldn't find info that it was changed.

I don't know if this small detail is worth adjusting under Bustadice. I am a little familiar with the withdrawal options of it.

Basically, the withdrawal fee is dependent on the Bitcoin network congestion. There are 2 options one can use to withdraw.
In my table, there are two entries for withdrawal fees for Bustadice. Right now it says: 0.00000824-0.00004323 ~ $0.30-$1.55 at the time of writing. The first number is for the slower withdrawal and the second one is for the quicker one.
8342  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Table] Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos on: June 19, 2021, 07:15:26 PM
Update:
The table in OP was updated with fresh data and numbers based on information from today. There were a lot of changes, so make sure you check it out. Don't hesitate to post and correct me if you notice any mistakes.

I wasn't able to check the data on a few casinos anymore. If you have a funded account on one of the below sites, I would appreciate if you can check the minimum withdrawal amounts and the withdrawal fees (a screenshot would also be appreciated):

  • Cloudbet
  • Betcoin
  • PLAYBETR

Thanks!
8343  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 4.1.3 released on: June 19, 2021, 03:21:32 PM
Me either, but the website contains shady ads which is good enough to make me avoid that website (unless there's no other reliable source i could found).
Major Geeks is a popular download site for pirated software. I remember it from the days of Rapidshare and warez software in the 2000s. I have never had any issues with apps downloaded from there when I was younger, but I also see no reason in using it for free software like Electrum and things related to your personal finances.
8344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 19, 2021, 11:08:30 AM
Hey guys I need some help for this weekend. I received a free 5 USD voucher for a football bet on any Euro 2020 match. The only problem is that it expires tomorrow night, so there aren't many matches I can bet on. Since the bet is free I was hoping to go for a high risk bet with a good payout, probably a draw. Anybody has a good recommendation for tonight or tomorrow?
I don't see any of the matches from today's program ending in a draw. But, that's just my opinion. Does it have to be one match? Maybe you can do a parlay by betting on Spain to win vs Poland and France to win against Hungary. Those two are the favourites from today's schedule.

Sure, the payout won't be that big. But think about future matches. The money you win from that multibet today can be reinvested in other matches in the future.
8345  Other / Archival / Re: Newbies bumping their thread more than once in 24h time period on: June 19, 2021, 10:55:20 AM
I would hate to see someone banned for this reason to be honest. Repeating such activity would certainly get someone banned but if they are a high quality respected member, instead I would PM them and notify them about the rules. This has happened last year, a Legendary member was bumping their thread within 24 hours of the previous bump. After noticing that, I PMed him and he said he was not aware of the rules.
I am not advocating that members who aren't aware of the rules be banned for multiple thread bumps in a 24-hour period, and I wouldn't like to see that either. But this is different. OP said in his OP that those users keep coming back with new accounts creating the same threads and doing the same bumping activities after their old accounts get banned. That shows that they don't care about the rules, they don't care about the reasons their previous accounts got banned, and they will continue doing the same things over and over again. That in my opinion deserves a ban.
8346  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 4.1.3 released on: June 19, 2021, 08:34:32 AM
The bad thing is that searching by versions (google Electrum 4.1.3) often leads to scam sites that appear first, other than using Electrum.
I don't get such results on my end, it seems all right. I am not sure if the app on MajorGeeks is legit or not, and I don't care to find out.

Recently the Electrum team started providing 2 sets of signatures from 2 of their developers, I suppose to make things safer and more decentralized. Now you can verify each binary against the same old ThomasV pubkey but also can verify the same binary against SomberNight pubkey both found on github.
According to the download site, only the MacOS version is not signed by SomberNight, everything else is signed by both him and ThomasV.
8347  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Why do people say hardware wallets are unhackable? on: June 19, 2021, 08:12:33 AM
If the firmware is modified in a way that changes the change address, it could've tricked you in many other ways as well.
If you are using Electrum as your interface while sending from a hardware wallet and the device isn't displaying the change address, you can cancel the transaction and check if the change address is part of your wallet in Electrum.

When you get to the stage where Electrum displays all the inputs and outputs before it pushes the info for you to confirm on the screen of your hardware wallet, copy the change address, cancel the transaction, and go and check if the change address is part of your wallet. If it is, recreate the transaction and make sure the same change address is used. Wouldn't that work?
8348  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Best way to send BTC? on: June 19, 2021, 08:03:24 AM
Everyone is suggesting that you withdraw your Coinbase balance to Electrum first and then make a second transaction made up of two (I assume) inputs from Electrum to the company you need to pay to.

Let's consider another route. What are you paying for? Would that company allow you to pay with multiple transactions or does it have to be one transaction in the amount of $533? This is something you have to ask them.

You have to withdraw your money from Coinbase either way. You might as well send it to that company's address instead of sending it to yourself if that is possible. After that, you can make a second transaction by sending the remaining amount from your Electrum wallet (whatever is needed). You will save a little bit on fees that way because you won't be increasing the size of your Electrum transaction if you withdraw from Coinbase to your Electrum wallet first. Did you understand?

Let's say Coinbase charges you $20 equivalent in bitcoin for their withdrawal. You will have to pay this no matter where you send it. If you send that to your Electrum wallet, you now have to use that amount as 1 input + 1 input (those $110.56 you have in your Electrum wallet) to create an output to send to the company. If you send the Coinbase amount to the company directly, the second transaction (from your Electrum wallet) will be lighter and thus require less fees when sending.
8349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How do i recover my bitcoins for an address? on: June 19, 2021, 06:49:36 AM
Do you know any where that do btc loans? I need funds urgently to pay bills for my house i live at. Due to pandemic and this sh** that occurred, i am very much out of options. Sad
The lending board as pooya87 suggested would also be the first place I would look.

Regarding platforms outside of the forum, I wouldn't be able to help you much with that. I have only heard about Coinlend. You would have to check their reputation and rates yourself. I have never looked into it personally. It looks like a mobile bot that works for Bitfinex, Poloniex, and a few other sites.
8350  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Source Application - dkbit98 <-- theymos on: June 19, 2021, 06:43:28 AM
...Croatian board definitely deserves to be have another merit source, given our board activity and quality of posts.
Just by looking at how many of our local members are participants in the two top paying signature campaigns (ChipMixer and Best Change), you can get a good insight of the quality of the members posting there. That shouldn't of course be a determining factor, but it's not something to neglect either. No one gets into those campaigns by chance as the screening process is pretty strict.

But our merit per post rate is too low. We practically have to "steal" merits in the general parts of the forum to get some sMerits for the Croatian local as there isn't enough to go around.
8351  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Riddles and Brain-Teasers for Bitcointalk Members (Newbies – Members) on: June 19, 2021, 06:27:44 AM
I think the ideal type of bitcoin transaction (size-wise) would be a transaction with one input and one output. A bad one would be a transaction with multiple dust inputs.
I was looking for a transaction with multiple legacy inputs combined with overpaying on the network fees, but transactions with dust inputs is also a good answer. More and more people are using Segwit nowadays, so it's not as common to see as many legacy inputs as it was years ago. Dust on the other hand is present no matter the type of the inputs/outputs.
8352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 18, 2021, 09:21:54 AM
Compared to yesterday, all 3 games of today's schedule are hard to predict.

Sweden played great defensively against Spain and could have even won the match with a bit more luck. However, they struggled to organize proper attacks and had bad ball movement. I am not sure it will be much better against the Slovaks. With Kulusevski out with COVID, and Olsson being a doubt with a light injury, I see Slovakia as slight favorites. A draw looks like the best choice.

Croatia must win to keep its hopes of reaching the knockout stages alive. They have no injury concerns or suspensions and I expect them to beat the Czechs.

Everyone expects an easy match for England tonight, but don't forget this is a derby. The better teams on paper don't always win. I expect a tough and aggressive match with England eventually coming out on the top.
8353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto gambling is the worst piece of shit you can imagine on: June 18, 2021, 09:06:03 AM
Why??? Why would anyone play on these when there are eur and usd casinos and poker rooms?
Because on many crypto casinos they can stay anonymous and they don't have to share their personal details with anyone else. If you know how to play, it helps you increase your stash for the coins you play with.

I try to move money to Coinpoker.com or any crypto poker and the minimum transaction fee for btc is over 20$ When my intended deposit 20$.

After the fees to get money on crypto poker my remaining balance is 0
You should read about this before you deposit money on a site. Check the TOS, talk with the support, and if you aren't happy, don't play there. It's that simple. You have to pay a mining fee every time you move coins from one place to another. That's the case when you deposit to Coinpoker.com or whatever you use as well. Coinpoker doesn't have anything to do with that. When you withdraw, the casino might ask you to pay a withdrawal fee. Part of that goes to them and another part to the miners. Or, all of it goes to the miners. It depends on the platform. Check it beforehand.

While when you do usd or eur there no big or no fees at all and the deposit is instant to while crypto not.
Is someone holding a gun to your head and forcing you to gamble with crypto. Use whatever you like better.

Burn down bitcoin!!!! It's the worst useless, inferior shit you can imagine, how did ever get a market value
Very mature.

Dear Mr Sir theymos  Smiley

If you aren't willing to promote dkbit98 as a merit source (for whatever reason you might have), at least increase the monthly merit supply for Daniel91. A local board with so many quality posters as the Croatian (and no, I am not being subjective, it really is) deserves a bigger supply of merits if you take into account that other boards have 2, 3, or 4 times more than our guys.
8355  Other / Archival / Re: Newbies bumping their thread more than once in 24h time period on: June 18, 2021, 08:33:56 AM
It's good that you pointed it out. You got the member banned and nuked. All his posts and sale threads are now gone and that will give him something to think about. He now has a choice to either keep coming back creating new accounts and breaking the rules, which will get him banned again, or he can start respecting the game and doing things properly.
8356  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion: Tags for better sorting of content on: June 18, 2021, 08:26:41 AM
For outside forums, you may just add Bitcointalk at the end of your desired search words. So it would help you to search relates words from the forum.
Adding just 'bitcointalk' could be dangerous. Yes, it will show you results from our bitcointalk.org forum, but you could also see links to phishing sites. I am not sure if bitcointalk.com is a phishing site or not, but it appears on the first page when searching for 'bitcoin bitcointalk'. If that site is not a phishing site, another one can pop up.

Adding bitcointalk.org or site:bitcointalk.org is safer.
8357  Other / Meta / Re: Lightning Network subforum proposal. on: June 18, 2021, 08:09:08 AM
I think this applies:
Quote from: mrpep in 2019
Unless a subset of possible board topics is dominating the front page (+50% of topics on the front page belong to said subset), it's highly unlikely that it'll have a sub-section created for it.
In this particular case, there is a problem with that. Most of the LN discussions are centralized in just a few threads that are starting to look like spam mega-threads although they aren't. We can't know how many users would create new discussions in a brand-new LN sub because most users post in the handful of LN threads already available. The users who take part in the Development & Technical Discussions aren't really the type who will create threads in the wrong places. And newbies don't go there that often unless they are asking for help. I think those are also reasons why we don't see new threads about LN issues being created all over the place.

It is worthwhile to grasp one truth for a long time. On this version of the forum, no updates or new sections have been added for a long time. And they won't.
Actually, the Croatian local forum was re-organized last year. We only had a ANN and Marketplace sub before. But proposals were made and the admins were contacted to make changes. We voted and made our forum better. We now have a main bitcoin section, an off-topic sub, a marketplace, and an altcoins board with its child board ANN announcements.
8358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How do i recover my bitcoins for an address? on: June 18, 2021, 07:52:29 AM
i have 2 wallets though, but the one i wish to open is the 1 with the passphrase.
For absolute clarity, when you say passphrase, do you mean the 12 seed words (the recovery phrase) or was the seed extended with an additional word aka the passphrase?
Brute-forcing 5 missing words is already difficult enough, brute-forcing a passphrase on top of that adds another difficulty layer.
8359  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger fake device Warning! on: June 18, 2021, 07:39:41 AM
Although, I prefer Trezor which is completely open source, but this data breach can happen to any company that are collecting buyer's data on their database, this should make us careful of the information we are given out.
A 100% open source hardware wallet is preferable, but for the purpose of this kind of attack where you are sent a fake device, it doesn't matter at all. It would be even easier to introduce a vulnerability and backdoor in a code that is public to anyone if the malicious parties know what they are doing.

The oldest rules still apply: No one is going to give you free money or in this case free hardware wallets. If Ledger intended to do something like that, there would certainly be a marketing campaign beforehand. You don't just ship something to a customer hoping he is still there. You check to see if he still lives at that address, is he even still alive, available, and interested in receiving a free gift.

A lot of thought was put into this scam campaign, and I am afraid it will have great results for the dark side.
