8361  Other / Meta / Re: Should some Bitcointalk's rules change now? on: June 10, 2021, 01:09:55 PM
The donation page says that Bitcointalk collected its donations at a time when bitcoin wasn't worth anything. To be precise, they used the term "worthless". The page also states that the forum finances its operations from ads and they have a huge reserve of hundreds of bitcoins. The forum doesn't need or expects additional donations. Even if you lowered it to 1 BTC to become Donator or VIP, I doubt many would be interested.

This topic introducer maybe seeking for an attention or either just posting because he need merit either wants he's rank to increase
That's a bad attempt dude, a very bad attempt...
8362  Economy / Gambling / Re: List Of Crypto Casinos with The Best Faucets on: June 10, 2021, 12:49:40 PM
On top of this using faucets to reach the minimum withdrawal can sometimes backfire on your account as I remember users complaining back then on why their account got locked and casinos exposed them for using the faucets too frequently.
That seems shady. If the rules allow users to claim coins from the casinos every 10 minutes, every hour, X times a day, when the balance is empty, etc., how can they say that the players are abusing the system? The system allows the player to claim it exactly the way the casino set it up to do.  Huh
8363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much bitcoins was lost permanently? on: June 10, 2021, 09:53:12 AM
Like other users have said, the sole fact that certain coins haven't been moved for 5, 6, or more years, can't be used to argue that those coins are lost or inaccessible. But my guess would be that at least half of the addresses that haven't seen any activity in the last 10 years can be considered out of reach somehow. Bitcoin has had several bull runs in the last decade, and it's hard to imagine that so many people didn't cash in at least a little bit.

I do remember reading a Chainalysis report from the beginning of the year where they estimated that at least $100-$200 billion worth of coins are forever lost. That's the value the bitcoin had half a year ago, it's much more now.
8364  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to sign a message?! on: June 10, 2021, 09:22:25 AM
Okay so as a test I sent 2 transactions to my bitcoin wallet.

One for        0.00011792 BTC to  1Apqmd4bQBaazqvRPA4Si8LzLvGjRaf3bQ (the one I signed already)
Another for  .0.00011828 BTC to  1PMHH5BHtr1WEpesJcBPBZ2FZDdfURkohG (which is address that appeared in the receive after the first transaction)

My wallet showed the sum of both addresses once confirmation was completed.

Then I sent 0.00016200 BTC back to the originating address.

The receiving block chain transaction https://mempool.space/tx/4b941d7b2b0bc274f90d4d8310fbed3e640ffe9a5924389b73a85870b72d7cb9

Shows that most of the BTC came out of the second address (emptied it completely) and 0.00001200 BTC came out of the first address, and I'm assuming carried with it a hefty fee do to the small amount in the transaction of the second address ? (Fee was like 0.00007420 BTC)
The amounts that are being transferred don't affect the total fee that the sender has to pay. The fee is determined by the number of inputs and outputs, type of addresses being used (Segwit or Legacy), and things like 2FA, multisig scripts, etc. That transaction of yours had two inputs. If one of the addresses you initially sent to had enough coins, you could have used only that input and paid less in transaction fees. A transaction of 0.00016200 BTC made up of 2 inputs is more expensive than a 1 BTC transaction that only has 1 input (if the same sat/vbyte fees were used).

So.. it seems, that the balance in my wallet, is simply the sum of all addresses in the blockchain for which I can 'sign' for with my private key.
Private keys - plural. Each address has a different private key.

a) Consolidate them amount all into one address before sending (which I'm guessing would also save me on tx fees?)
If you consolidate your inputs at a time when the transaction fees are low, you will save money when it's time to move those coins elsewhere since you will only be spending from 1 input. Remember what I said before, the amount of coins you send doesn't affect the mining fees you pay. Inputs and outputs do.

b) Send signatures for every address in the transaction to prove it was me that sent the money for all of them
(and not just 20 other random people sending small amounts)
Another reason to consolidate and avoid the hassle of multiple signed messages from multiple addresses.
8365  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which casinos have IP blocks in place for restricted countries? on: June 10, 2021, 08:42:15 AM
Seem like the IP block not working anymore, I tested with IP from USA & France using VPN still can be opened.
I just did a quick test with a French IP address and the restrictions seem to be still active. Try with another VPN provider or different server. Maybe the site doesn't recognize it as a French IP, but one from an allowed neighboring country. Also check your IP on https://www.myip.com/ or a similar site to make sure it displays it from the correct country.

Here is what I get:

I don't know which ones offer faucet now but I was wondering if bitsler coins also qualify for the list? I get some 15k BTSLR coins every ten minutes and there's a contest always going on so technically it's money you just need to have the highest balance among top 25. It's quite complicated and I don't think it qualifies for the list but when I saw JCC tokens, I thought it is worth asking Smiley
You were right about Bitsler. It is possible to claim 25 BTSLR coins every 10 minutes. The maximum is 20 claims in a 12-hour period. I will add that to my list as well with the next update. About those Bitsler coins, can they be exchanged for other crypto or do they have any value outside of the platform?

Budemo vidjeli kako će to ići.
8368  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 09, 2021, 01:14:33 PM
I think it is irresponsible to let the game take place. Firstly, because other players and the coaching staff could be infected, and secondly, because it is a distortion of competition if some of the players are absent because of the infection.
It shouldn't be any different than what we have seen for the club competitions during this, but also in the previous season. Many teams had to play with multiple players sidelined due to COVID. The results were still valid, it's no different from when you have injured or suspended players. The last two years were a huge mess in club football, and all you can do is to adapt and rely on the strength of your squad.
8369  Economy / Gambling / Re: #1 RATINGS of BITCOIN SPORTSBOOKS : poster book discussion on: June 09, 2021, 12:56:13 PM
You have a nice site. One thing we do disagree somewhat is KYC. I don't think that KYC requirements determine the quality of a book. A book's payout history is most important. The top books have a great payout history. Books that are heavy handed in KYC are downgraded here.
I think they do because many gamblers prefer to remain anonymous and if the casino requires them to undergo KYC, they lose their privacy and they can no longer be considered anonymous players. It's also dangerous to give away your sensitive data that will end up being stored on some servers somewhere because of the possibility of those records being hacked or sold one day.

Therefore, if we are comparing two casinos with equal payout history, I would consider the one that doesn't require KYC as the better choice.
8370  Economy / Reputation / Re: Forum made *Legendary Member on: June 09, 2021, 12:43:10 PM
Congratulations, you are now part of a club of members who can call themselves self-made legendaries. Although I started as a Hero when the merit system was introduced, I am also a member of the club after earning +1000 merits as well.  Cool

You might want to edit a few things in your OP:

A little over four months ago I became a full member on the forum, and I now earned enough merits to become a Sr. Member, and I'm now a Hero member.
You aren't anymore...

The obvious next target is Hero Legendary Member, but first I'll have to learn more, improve on my discussions and also explore the other areas of the forum.
Target acquired...
8371  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to sign a message?! on: June 09, 2021, 12:32:41 PM
Is there a way I can 'sign' a non-zero address containing the required funds to show that a) The $ is mine to send and b) The $ is enough to cover the cost of the transaction
The signing process of funded addresses is the same as for empty ones. If you sign a message from an address that contains bitcoin, you effectively own that address and the coins in it.

Regarding point b, it depends. If you are supposed to send a client 0.2 BTC and you sign an address which contains only 0.1 BTC, the client will know (if he checks) that you don't have the required amount. If it's the other way around, he can see you have enough.
8372  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where is giveaway thread? on: June 09, 2021, 12:13:33 PM
Actually, I saw this thread of @Pmalek on the gambling discussion board regarding all gambling sites that have faucets.  But I don't know how much the minimum before you can withdraw the amount that comes from the faucet and it might take years before you can do that even you are actively collecting the faucet.
Thanks for linking to my thread. Trying your chances with crypto casino faucets is possible, but without plenty of luck and some sports knowledge (in case of sports betting), you wont get far with faucets either. I put a link in the OP of my faucet thread to another thread I created about withdrawal fees and minimum withdrawal limits. OP can use that as a source when researching the requirements to move money to his personal wallet.

better try it on Games and rounds there are  several casinos who does a giveaway or conduct some games which give bitcoins  or other alts as rewards.
That is a possibility, however, most of the casinos don't accept applications by newbie members. If they did, you would see hundreds of newly created accounts who apply for those things.
8373  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where is giveaway thread? on: June 08, 2021, 06:04:39 PM
Nothing in this world is free my friend, especially not a rare and precious asset like bitcoin. If you want something of value, work for it. You could try things like faucets, watching ads in exchange for some coins, or answering surveys, but most of the time it's not worth the effort.

This forum is full with knowledge, and it's free. Use that to understand how bitcoin works and then find a way to monetize your professional skills with it.
8374  Other / Meta / Re: Effect Of Plagiarism In Forum. on: June 08, 2021, 05:46:48 PM
Isn't image resizing on bitcointalk pretty simple and straightforward? You just add either width or height number in that "[Img width/height=xyz]" bracket and thats about it? Like 2 seconds work.
Not really. It's simple if you know about it. Where did you get the info from the first time you used those image codes? You either saw it somewhere, asked someone and then memorized the code or saved it somewhere for future use. I am pretty sure not everyone knows about those image tags and just adds the images in their original size or uses another service for resizing like Imgur.
8375  Other / Archival / Re: SCAM Not Moderated? on: June 08, 2021, 12:44:39 PM
then theoretically, the mods will have to mark or delete 95% of all existing ANN ICOs...
Not necessarily. An ICO isn't a scam just because it's an ICO. Many are, probably the majority is. I wouldn't like to speculate on the numbers because I don't know. I think it's necessary to distinguish those that exit scam or just outright take their investor's money without any aspirations from creating anything, and those who fail for lack of interest, quality of the product, other reasons. If they refund their investors, they aren't a scam. They are just a failed project for this or that reason.

Cases where outright theft can be easily proved should result in moderation, IMHO. I know: who decides what "theft" is and what "easily proved" means...
Theft and breaches of contract or any other written agreement can be easily proven. If you make a deal with me where I have to send you money after receiving certain goods or services and I don't, it's a clear case of a scam. That makes me a treat to the community and I shouldn't be here. The proof can be emails, PMs, crypto addresses that were funded or not, etc. That's why it is important to document everything when you do business with someone via the forum and avoid using things like Telegram where any side of a PM exchange can delete everything.
8376  Other / Meta / Re: Effect Of Plagiarism In Forum. on: June 08, 2021, 12:16:42 PM
The link would only appear if you insert the link directly from the website into the image tag, but if I were to download the same image and upload it on some other platform like imgur, it will not show any link to the original source.
I have seen members do that a lot. They upload an image to imgur to take advantage of imgur's quick resizing options. As you know, Bitcointalk doesn't have resizing buttons available when you create new posts. You would need to know the codes by heart to resize your images properly. Imgur, on the other hand, allows you to use the original size as well as different thumbnail and square sizes.

Plagiarism does apply to images cause it can be stolen, but it's difficult to prove, probably the reason why it is not strictly enforced.
Like I said in my previous post, I wouldn't consider posting an image as an act of plagiarism unless it's clear from the post that the author is trying to make the public think the image or artwork was created by him.
8377  Economy / Gambling / Re: List Of Crypto Casinos with The Best Faucets on: June 08, 2021, 11:31:56 AM
Why would they hide it though? Are there any reason why they hide the faucets?
Hiding is maybe a too strong of a word here and over exaggeration. Some sites don't emphasize the fact that they have a faucet and aren't giving it importance. Let me tell you what I mean.

If you open the homepage of Windice, you have a button for the faucet at the top of the site (between deposit and exchange). If you visit BetFury, there is a free BNB button on the homepage that will allow you to claim BNB and BTC. But if you visit FortuneJack, there is nothing on the homepage that would have you know that the platform has a faucet. To claim some sats from the faucet, you have to play Dice and go into the settings to find the free faucet button. Unless you know about it, or stumble upon it by accident, there is no way of knowing about the faucet from just visiting the casino.
8378  Other / Meta / Re: What Would Be Your Reason to Leave Bitcointalk? on: June 08, 2021, 09:22:55 AM
If Bitcointalk forum begins to bring many rules and regulations that will not allow someone to express himself very well. Or when they bring some punishment to stop freedom of speech, I will leave. I am here because I love to share my opinion and read other people's opinion that is my own joy.
I don't see that happening. the forum will certainly not move in a direction of censorship, but there will always be rules you have to respect. If those rules prevent you from posting or sharing certain content, you'll have to follow them.

BTW, why are you wearing that under your signature space? Is it worth destroying your forum reputation over it, if you care about those kind of things?
8379  Other / Meta / Re: A question about unsolicited PMs on: June 08, 2021, 09:15:44 AM
Maybe it would be best to encourage people to just block users who PM them offers and only take action with bans if it's done en mass. I don't think people should be spamming users with offers but I also don't think someone should have to be worried about being banned just for sending one PM.
Is that how you would personally handle such a case? If someone reports a user for sending him an unsolicited PM about working with him, would you ignore the report and maybe warn that individual that he got reported and shouldn't do it again?

On at least one forum I've been on before they allow users to set a pre-message that is shown before you PM them and sometimes users have stated they don't want to receive unsolicited messages or offers about certain things and maybe that would be helpful here.
I have seen that on other forums as well, but I am not sure our current forum software supports such a feature. @theymos does it? Maybe it could be proposed as a feature when the new forum software gets rolled out. A notification stating a user is not interested in any offers could make the difference.
