Hardik pandya and Kl rahul are shitty player in Test cricket. Hardik can't bowl 6-7 over in one spell during the test match, check last Ranji match Mumbai vs Baroda. he manage to take 5 wickets in first inning when Mumbai's batsmen were on 20-20 mode. Mumbai scored 465 run in first inning -92 overs-. let's see if including him in squad backfires or not with team combination just like England both are fav of Virat and management.
KL rahul should be out from Test sqaud for good and let him play Domestic season and prove his worth.
Hardik will boost the team confidence as he is one who can bring the energy back in the team and with good fielding skills he can come handy as well in batting too if he bats sensibly and just stayed on the wicket. I think he is potentially India's all rounder like Jadeja and will definitely grow as the years pass by. Will need to back such talents so that they also remain confident. If Virat Kohli can't boost the team's confidence, then I don't know how Pandya can? he's a very good all-rounder but for only shorter format of the game. Test cricket? I highly doubt that. He's not even specialized batsman or bowler in the Test match. Like other poster mentioned above that one need to bowl at least regular spell. He's not able to do that till now forget about any test Match even in ODI he can't keep up the pressure from another end. Check England tour, for example, he was always under-bowled in almost every test match and he gave too many runs with his lousy bowling. His Five wicket haul came on the 3rd match due to Bumrah-Ishant. They were bowling wonderfully and in between their spell, Hardik got lucky IMO. Right now Indian Bowling is not a problem and India need good batsmen in top order and for number 7-8, if we can find Batting all-rounder then its great for us. I think Mayank Agarwal will come in and will open with Murali Vijay. and in lower order Jadeja or Ashwin in and Umesh Yadav out. Hanuma Vihari doing great right now. he showed good temperament in the last test match and he deserves to be in this test squad. this dude got a triple century in domestic cricket. so will prefer him over Pandya any day in test cricket. Indian team needs to back up Mayank and Hunuma. and should keep a close eye on Shreyas Iyer, Prithvi Shaw, Shubman Gill. keep polishing these guys they are our Future. This is my playing XI 1. We shouldn't be very surprised if Kohli makes a 100 or 150 from here. his conversion rates are very good. Both Captain and vice-captain Rahane looking very strong. if tomorrow India go with the one wicketless session. then its bad news for Australian bowlers.

Australia have been bowled out for 326 runs which I think is a very good score on this pitch which will get a lot harder to bat on as the test goes on. India has already lost 1 wicket just before the lunch break for 6 runs. Strac is was really firing up and could be the match winner for Australia, if he bowls well along with the other two fast bowlers then Australia could bowl India out cheaply. Right now Australia is in complete control of the match, the next two sessions will be vital for India to try and survive on this pitch.
This is the time Indian batsmen should step up and take responsibility. If Indians lose couple or more wicket in this session, then the picture does not look good for India in this test match. Pitch and ball are flirting with batsmen. Just hoping to see Pujara and Kohli go strong in this inning. |

Is Tide changing in Test cricket? The touring team started to win matches and series away from home. England won Test series in Srilanka. New Zealand won against Pakistan. And India won the 1st test match as well. India vs Aus match was a treat. because both the team fought well in every session but India came as a winner in the end. Who says Test cricket is dying. |

I didn't expect that from Ashwin Handscomb should stick his ground now and anchor the inning. He can't afford to throw his wicket after a hard job. A couple of more wicket can do the trick for the Indian side. We all know that even starc can add a useful run in the lower order. And India should wrap up lower order quickly before they get set up and cause the damage. |

India are 9/250 which isn't a very big total however Australia bowled very well today and I would have them just in front at this stage of the game. It will be interesting to see how Australia bat on this pitch as it did look like the ball was slow coming onto the bat.
No. For Adelaide, this must be a very good score and now India may bowl out Australia within 180 runs too. Hence, I am not considering Australia just in front this stage. I am predicting all these by considering the India's pace attack and the weakness in Australian batting line up. It may get holed up at any time as India has variety of bowlers to make them struggle. I am still considering India is the favorite for this series and definitely for this first test after scoring a decent total on day one. Australia in peril of losing this series by 2-0 or 3-0 at least. India may cement their number one test ranking for ever just due to this series. India's previous record is not very good at Adelaide. They only manage to win 1 test match out of 11. And 7 test match won by Aus. I agree that current Australian batting line up doesn't look very good and confident on paper but we shouldn't forget that they are playing in their backyard. If Australian batsmen manage to survive the new ball then it's tricky situation for india because normaly Adelaide pitch is batting friendly atleast for first 2-3 days. Then it gives some help to spinner and Ashwin record is very bad outside of india with 62 s/r and if I am not mistaken then in Australia his S/R is almost 90 I guess. but cricket is very funny game so no prediction about him lol. Still I am not expecting much from him. India need to strike with new ball and hope no drop catches. Fun fact: Nathan lyon used to be a part of the curator team in Adelaide so he knows thing or two about this pitch. |

Pakistan are about to take the lead in this test match,Ali and Shafiq are batting well together with Ali making a century already and Shafiq isn't too far behind now on 85 runs. These two can now start to pile on the runs and lift the run rate a little and maybe Pakistan can have a 150+ run lead by the end of play.
Pakistan succeeded in getting a lead, but only of 74 runs. The captain Sarfaraz Ahmed and Bilal Asif should've extended this lead to at least 125+ runs, but as usual, they failed again in batting. New Zealand is now batting at 5 for 1. The NZ's opener, Jeet Raval, has just gone for a golden duck, thanks to Shaheen Shah Afridi superb bowling! This will be an interesting match because the lead is not huge. And if NZ will take a lead of around 200 then it will be difficult for Pakistan to chase in 4th innings. Looking at the collapse of Pak batting line up after Asad departure, the possibility of such collapse cannot be ruled out in Pak's 2nd innings. Now I believe New Zealand can win this test and series because they done great job and restricting Pakistan under 350 is very good for them now they need just 250+ and enough for their spinners because Pakistan is never been good in chase and fourth inning chase is really nightmare for them on this pitch. Still 50-50 chance for both team. chances are, we are going to see another low scoring match. the script is already laid out perfectly in 3 days game still we don't know if that match turns out to be another thriller or single-sided from here. |

New Zealand did well to reach 274 runs, they would of scored a lot more if Watling had the tail stay with him but it wasn't to be, he batted well for his 77 N/O. Pakistan are 3 wickets down for 139 runs with Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq at the crease and both look comfortable, if these two can stay together then we could see Pakistan make 400+ runs and really put the pressure back on New Zealand. Its going to be an interesting day 3 to see which team gets the upper hand in this test match.
If Pakistan succeeds in making 400+ runs, they'll probably win this one. Not a good opening today by Pakistani openers, Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Hafeez, they ruined it all again but Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq saved the day for Pakistan by making a little partnership. Let's see if they're able to continue playing with the same momentum on the Day 3. OTOH after another golden duck, Mohammad Hafeez has announced retirement from the test cricket. Good thing he won't be facing Dale Steyn in upcoming South Africa test series. Pakistan is in a good position of the match as they trail by just 135 runs and 7 wickets left. If they can get a lead of anything around 150 it will be a good margin and batting second to chase minimum score would be the Pakistan looking out. This would be interesting if NZ can quickly all out Pakistan else NZ will lose this match. Pakistan can now afford to risk little bit from here especially Azhar Ali and he should try to bring the run rate up. we have only 60 overs left in the 3rd day. surprisingly Ajaj Patel looked ordinary so far in this inning except for few deliveries. Pakistani batsmen playing him well so far. |

I would think that New Zealand's first target once day 2 starts is to get at least 250+ runs on the board. If Watling can stick around along with the tail, they should be able to achieve this and maybe even push onto reaching 300 runs, any score near 300 is good and gives New Zealand something to bowl to with attacking fields. Right now I would say Pakistan are just in front.
Both the teams always gives surprises but according to the ground status 12 tests played till now and 11 times first bat have won and only once first bat lost it, so New Zealand have good chances of winning the match, so right now you can back with New Zealand and when the odd is low can lay some so if Pakistan bats well then we can get good odd to back New Zealand back. The status of NZ at present is not good as they have lost 7 wickets for a score of just 229 runs. Even if they manage to get 275 runs on board would not be a good target and Pakistan would like to get maximum runs in their first innings so that they have to make minimum batting 4th in the test match. Pakistan would be very disappointed if Kiwis manage to get 300 marks. BJ Watling is doing an excellent job for a team with tailenders so far. Let's see if Pak manages to wrap up this inning quickly. Edit: Bilal takes fifer. and Kiwis inning wrapped up on 274 runs. Bilal and Yasir took 8 wickets together in this inning. i am sure Ajaj Patel is now looking forward to getting his hand dirty too. |
