New Zealand did well to reach 274 runs, they would of scored a lot more if Watling had the tail stay with him but it wasn't to be, he batted well for his 77 N/O. Pakistan are 3 wickets down for 139 runs with Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq at the crease and both look comfortable, if these two can stay together then we could see Pakistan make 400+ runs and really put the pressure back on New Zealand. Its going to be an interesting day 3 to see which team gets the upper hand in this test match.

If Pakistan succeeds in making 400+ runs, they'll probably win this one. Not a good opening today by Pakistani openers, Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Hafeez, they ruined it all again but Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq saved the day for Pakistan by making a little partnership. Let's see if they're able to continue playing with the same momentum on the Day 3.

OTOH after another golden duck, Mohammad Hafeez has announced retirement from the test cricket. Good thing he won't be facing Dale Steyn in upcoming South Africa test series.

New Zealand has a strong start now they are trailing just by 48 runs, but they have lost two wickets, I feel they'll have to post a big total to put pressure back on Pakistan.

India Vs Australia and looks like Australia are crusing ahead, India has already lost four of their top order batsman and two more wickets are to fall cheaply I feel Australia would win this easily. The biggest disappointment for me are the inconsistent Rahul who keeps getting chance after chance, and Vijay who got to play due to Shaw injury. I would consider Australia as favourites to win this match, and win it comfortably what do you'll say?.

I think its too early to say that Australia will win this test match, remember the Australian batting line up isn't as strong as in the past with Smith and Warner out of the team. Like I have been saying a lot in this thread, for Australia to win the series they will need to rely more on their bowlers then ever before as their batting line up is weak. Australia are on top right now, if they can get India all out for under 200 runs then Australia can really take their time to pile on the runs and try and get a big 1st innings lead. The session after the tea break will be interesting to see if India can survive a full day.

India won the toss and decided to bat. OZ have being successful in putting pressure right form the start as they had being deciding a week ago about it. India are now 206/7 and only player who i splaying well is Pujara with 85 not out. India might get warp up under 275 runs it seems and OZ will all be delighted about it.

No. For Adelaide, this must be a very good score and now India may bowl out Australia within 180 runs too. Hence, I am not considering Australia just in front this stage.  I am predicting all these by considering the India's pace attack and the weakness in Australian batting line up. It may get holed up at any time as India has variety of bowlers to make them struggle. I am still considering India is the favorite for this series and definitely for this first test after scoring a decent total on day one.

No. For Adelaide, this must be a very good score and now India may bowl out Australia within 180 runs too. India's previous record is not very good at Adelaide. They only manage to win 1 test match out of 11. And 7 test match won by Aus.

I agree that current  Australian batting line up doesn't look very good and confident on paper but we shouldn't forget that they are playing in their backyard.

If Australian batsmen manage to survive the new ball then it's tricky situation for india because normaly Adelaide pitch is batting friendly atleast for first 2-3 days.

Then it gives some help to spinner and Ashwin record is very bad outside of india with 62 s/r and if I am not mistaken then in Australia his S/R is almost 90 I guess. but cricket is very funny game so no prediction about him lol. Still I am not expecting much from him. India need to strike with new ball and hope no drop catches.

Fun fact: Nathan lyon used to be a part of the curator team in Adelaide so he knows thing or two about this pitch.

Really it bad time to India team they are loss queck wikets from the beginning there is no bats man give the support to Pujara but he did great job until end of 1st day and get the his century and add one more century to his account and keep going.

IMO, this match is probably heading towards a draw. Tomorrow is the last day of the match and almost half of the batting of New Zealand is still remaining (they're most probably not even thinking of declaring the inning) and full inning of Pakistan is also yet to be played.

Yeah its looking like it will become a draw unless New Zealand try and get another 50 to 80 runs fast in the morning session to get a 250 run lead and then put Pakistan into bat and see how they go. It will be tough to defend on a 5th day pitch and Pakistan could crumble like they have in the past. I think right now New Zealand is the only team to win this match or the draw.

Ashwin is the one that is causing the Australian batsman a lot of trouble taking 3 wickets already and Australia are 4 wickets down for just 113 runs. Its now up to Handscomb to make the runs and so far it looks like the selectors dropping Mitch Marsh for Handscomb is the right decision if he can go on to make a century and put Australia in a strong position. There is still plenty of time in this match so they can take their time to get the runs.
