8381  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-02-24]Blockchain Specialists Provide Feedback on “Facebook Login” on: February 26, 2019, 04:11:00 AM
There is no way they are going to use a public blockchain, even for something as simple as logging in. Zuckerberg will want complete control. Either that or Zuck will want everyone to link their real identities to their bitcoin wallets so he can build even more of a profile on you.

They'll probably use a private blockchain, DPoS style with only 5 nodes.

This might be Mark Zuckerberg's answer on how the US government will stay away from him and the company for a while. Remember this guy was under a senate investigation because of privacy and data issues from his social media website, they raised concerns on how their users' data and personal information are going out from companies they haven't even shared it on so with this kind of feature it might eliminate the need of pursuing more evidence as it will provide more transparency within Facebook's system.

It's possible but this is just a strategy. Just because you want to use a blockchain doesn't mean you can't get your users data, especially if you use private blockchain.
8382  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-02-23]Bitcoin Inventor: Become Satoshi Nakamoto with Faketoshi App on: February 26, 2019, 03:53:52 AM
Craig wright can swear all he wants but no one will believe him unless he moves a bitcoin from those genesis wallets

What's his reason for not moving it? But it is also possible that he doesn't move it but just claimed that he did if that ever happened. I'm pretty sure anyone who's sane enough won't believe him because his lie and personality is too narcissistic compared to satoshi.
8383  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-02-24] 3 Properties,are being sold for cryptocurrencies in the Philippines on: February 26, 2019, 03:37:24 AM
I don’t think this is such a big deal, but it’s cool to see how there are some already very open to the use of crypto even while there are limited merchant vendors in the Philippines where you can use and purchase crypto.

If there are clear regulatory standards about crypto, and the government accepts it as a form of payment, maybe there will be more and more people who will use crypto to buy & sell something. But the nature of crypto is not suitable for daily expense imo. Still, it's cool if we can use Bitcoin with lightning to be able to buy something from a supermarket.

Only 3... and sellers on the top of that. Nothing to be excited about. Sure it's better than nothing but it's not like if suddenly there is a wave of people looking to buy a house and paid it exclusively with Bitcoin. To develop the ecosystem we need to start somewhere you can say, and you're right. But only 3 and it hits the news  Roll Eyes

3 is better than none someone said. But yeah, I personally don't think this is groundbreaking or something like that. The nature of properties payment is also unfit to be paid with crypto imo. Maybe the sellers will directly convert it to fiat if there's someone who buy using crypto.
8384  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who's filling up the mempool at the moment? on: February 26, 2019, 03:27:06 AM
Yeah but the catch is that they are all VERY low fee txns.

Deanonymization attacks perhaps? Who knows, it's really difficult to point out exactly who, but I'm pretty sure there is no one who wants to 'hijack' the block with lots of transaction with very low fees except they have some agenda behind it.

I really don't want to go full tinfoil-hat conspiracy theorist here, but along with the low fee transactions spam, bitcoin suddenly dropped in price in a very short timespan yesterday(though not that surprising), along with that, BSV had a 16% pump in the last 24 hours. Hmm. Quite fishy.

What's your guess? Are you telling that BSV supporter 'spam' Bitcoin blocks to pump their price?
8385  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Pump Dump Indodax on: February 25, 2019, 04:43:54 AM

8386  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Is it okay that a Hardware Wallet Has no Screen? on: February 25, 2019, 04:27:09 AM
A hardware wallet with no screen is more or less like paper wallet imo. If you want to use it as long-term storage, and by that I mean not using it to send and receive crypto regularly, it is still okay. But if you want to use it daily/weekly, maybe you should look for another option.

As long as you save it in a secure place, there shouldn't be a problem.
8387  Other / Meta / Re: Hhampuz Ban Appeal on: February 25, 2019, 04:11:59 AM
I see your signature was also not removed, was your ban revoked or can users who get temp bans still keep their signature?

IIRC temporarily banned users still can use their signature. Only perma-banned users sig will be disabled.

8388  Local / Altcoins (Bahasa Indonesia) / Re: [Tanya] Penggunaan Wallet EOS? on: February 25, 2019, 04:02:46 AM
Jadi maksudnya alamat EOS agan masih belum aktif ya?

8390  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What exactly is Bitcoin Core? on: February 24, 2019, 06:35:35 AM
I could have just "googled" it but i need more answers. in English (for noobies, beginners, dummies) please.

Google will give you at least 5 pages full of description & links about Bitcoin Core. I think that's more than enough even though you're a newbie. See links in the #2 post? It will show up on Google.

Maybe you can improve your Googling skills too.
8391  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why do these currency changes exist? on: February 24, 2019, 06:15:50 AM
> This unofficial currency exchange <
With so many legit exchanges in the world, why would the unofficial ones exist?
1. Binance
2. Cex.io
etc.

I'm seriously confused which one you call official and which one you call unofficial exchanges. Who can determine which one is official or not anyway? Bitcoin can be traded anywhere, you can even make your own exchange if you want. It's the same as if you build your own electronic store.

Most of the exchange you hear of will run out of business in 5-10years time but Bitcointalk will still be around as far as bitcoin still has value that means the currency exchange board will still be around and forum member can use it to exchange their coins.

This is a bold prediction. Any reason for you to say this? Imo I can't see Binance go bankrupt.

Looks like this guy has managed to steal a lot of Bitcoins. Here's some receiving address that's related to the hacker[1]:

8393  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum wallet being attacked on: February 24, 2019, 05:19:06 AM
No need to check the signature since I already downloaded from the original website. Electrum.org and I double verified before I downloaded. Also, I changed the name of the setup. thing is really weird because I am not connecting to this server at all. I get this msg even when I am into a different server.

What kind of verification that you did? Checking the site name twice?
Remember that it is also possible that your DNS was hijacked, so you've download a malicious app. I'd rather verify it just to be safe.

8394  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-02-22]Blockchain For Property Buyers Created on: February 24, 2019, 05:03:57 AM
This is bad news for ICO projects like Republia, MPG, and etc. Seems like the real estate/property will face a tough challenge from major players. How they react to this news will be a major factor in their success, but I really doubt those ICO projects will survive. They've run more than 2 round of bounty, 6 months each. Seems like they don't have enough money to market themselves properly.
8395  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [INFO] Informasi Phishing, Malware, Virus Dst (WAJIB BACA) on: February 24, 2019, 04:48:08 AM

8396  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-02-22]Zuckerberg: Blockchain to be Integrated into Facebook Login on: February 24, 2019, 04:38:45 AM
If they successfully implement it, I think it's time to say goodbye to social media project startup who do an ICO last year. I still remember one of them, at this moment they have serious difficulties in product development. Luckily I don't spend my money on those low-quality project.
8397  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-02-23]Bitcoin Is Entirely Legal in More Than 111 Countries Worldwide on: February 24, 2019, 04:18:30 AM
The countries above are restricting bitcoin because they cannot control it in my opinion, and maybe some it are afraid that it will be used by criminals/terrorism related activities...

It's nearly impossible to be controlled imo. There is no way we can stop people from creating a Bitcoin address or doing P2P transaction. As long as internet or other medium exist, it's futile to forbid people from using Bitcoin. Declaring Bitcoin as illegal won't stop bad people from using it, while accepting it might open new opportunities.
8398  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-02-23] John McAfee Affirms One Bitcoin Will Equal a Million Dollars Before on: February 24, 2019, 03:38:21 AM
Both CSW and John McAfee know how to trick social media thinking that they have skin in the game, but if you discard what they say and look at their actions, not much is left of them.

Or in other words: Do less, talk more.

Funny thing is there are still a few people who believe in him. I still remember the last time he tweeted about XVG, the price got pumped heavily. A quick pump that lasted for a few hours. But now, any coin that has his name as an advisor is dying.
8399  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-02-15] Countdown begins for new BTC ETF on: February 24, 2019, 03:26:22 AM
As mentioned every time when the ETF comes into discussion automatically there will be some price manipulation in the market.
I don't think the market is still valuing an ETF anymore, because if it did, it would have reacted to VanEck and SolidX withdrawing their proposal, and I'm actually happy with that.

I'm seeing this narrative still being used in crypto channel group though. I think most people have realized by now that ETF won't likely to happen so that event is not really unexpected. However, any positive progress about ETF will likely fuel another run of speculation (by positive = acceptance is near or something similar). I also think weak hands no longer watch the market, so probably there are more holders than traders.

8400  Local / Altcoins (Bahasa Indonesia) / Re: [ANN][SHR] ShareRing - Token Terpercaya Pertama untuk Bisnis Rental on: February 23, 2019, 07:18:18 AM
