I hope so too man. I have not been contacted, but they do have my address. I would not keep it a secret if do receive something. Here's the answer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6mmTRheUzgIn short, no, I'm not one of the first it seems.

Which exact versions did you use and find worked?

Just a quick question for a minor still annoying issue every time i run cgminer a file named poclbm130302GeForce GT 330Mv1w256l4.bin appears in my desktop. Is there a configuration to stop this from happening or to move it to another folder? Thank you. It will appear wherever you run cgminer from so don't run it from your desktop folder.

I'm running Xubuntu (linux) and as mentioned before I installed the drivers via the public repos. If I'm only mining on one GPU with two OpenCL instances then wouldn't that be a configuration issue in cgminer and not my driver?
Fine, don't believe the person who wrote the application

The README needs updated on the display: The cgminer status line shows: ST: 1 SS: 0 NB: 1 LW: 8 GF: 1 RF: 1 WU:4.4/m Since there is a DW now as well, which isn't listed. It's for Discarded Work per the pool info screen. What does that actually mean though? I have 3 rejected shares, 11 stale submissions discarded due to new blocks, and 5049 discarded work due to new block. But I don't know what discard work actually is. Shares not submitted similar to stales? Or something else? With 4716 share submissions (3 rejected) at difficulty 2 (so 9426 accepted / 6 rejected at difficulty 1) is 5049 discarded work due to new blocks high? It seems like a big number. Thanks. No you've got it backwards. The DW field is now GONE because it's meaningless so you are running an older version.

You are mining only on the first GPU with two openCL instances pointed at the same card. You have driver fuckage. Use an uninstall application (not the uninstall with catalyst control centre) and try a different driver.
|
|
|
Yes you have discovered the pain that is the lack of a clean uninstall option which causes endless support requests.
|
|
|
Should be fixed now. Why issues disabled? Because people used to use it for support for their mining issues rather than meaningful code issues.

is there any way to "specify share difficulty" in cgminer, in .conf file maybe? i switched to P2Pool on stratum and was wondering if i can change to diff2 shares instead of diff1? or does it even matter?
P.S. Cgminer is the best miner out there in my opinion. Con keep up the great work!!!!
Thanks! Much nicer than the same newbie questions over and over again Alas it's not up to stratum or cgminer to set difficulty as there is no official way to do so (yet?). Though some pools allow you to specify by the password field instead as you can see from rav3n_pl's response.

Apparently there is an official BAMT update which curtails the cgminer problem now.

Hey tiktoc,
Nope it runs dual 5870Ms stock speeds the cards should be getting 150mhash each and OCed 185ish mhash.
bump for help.... when i specify to use one card of the other, it seems only the left card gets used as the right side dosnt even get warm.. not sure if its a cgminer glitch, driver issue or hardware problem :-/ still trying to work it out.
Driver baby.

Whenever i start cgminer a windows pops up and says cgminer.exe has stopped working.

How to auto-fan and auto-gpu interract? I'd rather run up the fan than drop the clock speed so I have been using only auto-fan but I'm wondering if that's the best way or not.

Is this saga finally coming to an end ? No. What if I say Please...? Dunno, I've tried everything, including sacrificing goats, and virgins, and virgin goats, and I still haven't seen any hardware.

Utility depends entirely on what difficulty your pool is asking you to mine at. It is no indicator of how well your device is working.

Oh I'm not surprised windows is the more common download. It also doesn't take into account people getting cgminer from elsewhere as it is in linux distribution repositories that don't need to necessarily download from my server, and people getting source from git, so I think 80% is an overestimate for windows. Windows does have certain advantages with other overclocking tools etc. while linux has other advantages (as I've said in the FAQ too). My main point was to show how much it's being downloaded now and the rate of rise is quite dramatic of late, explaining why we're supporting all the same questions from scratch again that we've been answering for almost 2 years now.
