841  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Digitalcoin Dev ROBBED! on: March 18, 2014, 06:44:43 AM
I don't know what the problem is here. I am just posting the same level of intelligence that BCX has been spouting the last week or so. So if posting shitty jokes in a shitty thread makes me a bad person, I guess I am one of the worst!

Also Scrappy_D0, BCX has stated he is not an investor, he is a conscientious concerned  crypto citizen. So technically I am not speaking to someone who is a "DGC Holder", as far as you tho, you have stated you are done with this community and are jumping ship, so once again, not speaking with a DGC holder.

If anyone thinks I have been serious with any of these jokes, I do apologize.

For the rest of the rational people that realize that someone doing something like this may have a reason for it. Hey, whats up. You should check out Digitalcoin! The community is really fun to be around and as long as people aren't overly ignorant or accuse people of things that are impossible to prove one way or another, we are drama free! I realize how ironic that may seem but its true lol.

tl;dr

cant take a joke man?

You should probably check these stats, seems I mine more than you and donate 100% to the pool LOL

http://dgc.cryptopools.com/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool

~BCX~

Ok so if you donate 100% to the pool, that means you aren't  a holder of DGC, you are supporting the pool. Also you JUST came onto that pool. I am on that site all the time and have never seen you listed there. So thats a great way to attempt to look like a great guy, but it backfired and you look like an idiot.

Looking at your profile I can see you have been here only three months. You don't even understand what it means the bcx is mining there do you? Anybody want to clue this noob into what it means when bcx starts mining your pool or visiting your site in the open and clear.

Nah, i prefer to let the inevitable unfold while holding my tongue.

No opensourcecoin === me no vote
843  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: "The Perfect Crime": What if Mark K is a (small-time) Criminal and a Huge Patsy? on: March 18, 2014, 01:56:53 AM
I vote for huge patsy.

I believe that someone working at MTGox probably bugged, key logged, etc until they found the cold storage for the bitcoins along with any encryption passwords. They then copied the cold storage and changed the passwords. It would appear the coins were still there until Mark tried to recover them.

Now the thieves are trying to slowly mix them into obscurity while Mark watches his wallet dwindle down to nothing.

I just find it hard to believe that this current scenario would be a planned exit strategy.

I disagree. This is the perfect exit strategy for Mark, however its a catch 22, and here's why:

If this was Mark's doing, he would want you to think it was a hacker and he's the helpless victim.

Conversely, if this is what an attacker was doing, he would want you to think it was Mark weaseling his way out.

844  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: OpenEx to be shut down[Hacked] on: March 18, 2014, 01:26:04 AM
ok, the new system is up a few things to take note of:

withdrawals process normally, until a situation is encountered where there is not enough in the wallet to pay a withdrawal. in this situation, 10% of the withdrawal is paid, and the remaining 90% is placed in the funds owed table. from the user account page, you will see a new tab that says funds owed. in this tab you will find an explanation for everything, and a table containing:

coin | amount owed | confirmation code

you will be required to copy your confirmation codes. when you sign up for the new site, in the account page you will see a link to claim your confirmation codes. after a code is verified, a share is issued for the amount you are owed of a particular currency. this share will either be paid on a daily or weekly basis, probably daily just to keep you happy. each payout will subtract from the remaining debt. once the debt reaches 0, the share will expire, as you have been paid in full amount of what you are owed. i know this is a terrible inconvenience and many people will probably not be happy with it, but something is better than nothing and this is the best possible way of us to settle our debts with our customers.

if you have any questions or concerns, please continue to voice them in this thread, and i will answer you in due time. i check this thread for new replies several times per day.

thanks,
          Garrett

ok, there is an update on the situation in regards to customer funds owed. please see my last few tweets

https://twitter.com/_OpenEx_

the site will restore from maintenance soon.

the first step is to setup the system to store the amounts owed. the second step is to complete a display for the users of what they are owed. these will both be done today, and we will begin processing bitcoin withdrawals again.

the manner in which you will receive your funds owed is as followed:

you will receive a confirmation code for each balance you are owed. on the new platform, you will enter the confirmation code and the info will be retrieved for our debt with you.

Good to see making through.

~BCX~

you're going to keep doing that until i say something huh?

hello

In March 11th , I  withdrow my 0.47 bitcoin , but I only recived 0.05 btc

user : daemonjason0
btc address : 1Pz1avhev8H3MJ7EtFFtaGMeV82haYhncr
tx : a6c355107bbeb89846661384790214e358ae647be2e08d38095cdc386834da62

Yes, we sent you a portion of what you are owed. this means you are still owed .42

in case you aren't aware, we were hacked, so its impossible for us to payout everyones withdrawals at this time, but we make an effort not to cheat anyone. we send what we can, and keep track of what we still owe. we are working on a plan to repay everyone, if a payment plan doesnt satisfy you there are legal avenues which you could pursue.

Has anyone heard from the OP lately? Thanks Smiley

Yes, i'm still here. if you need to contact me directly, send me an email at admin@openex.pw for a way to contact me directly via Skype.

This is really sad, there seems to have been alot of work put into OpenEX. It's like every day there is an exchange hacked.

So far only these 3 seem to be secure enough to not be hacked:

-Bistamp
-Cryptsy
-MCxNow

yeah there was. the accusations being thrown about me in this thread are ridiculous, and not rooted in fact at all.

@r3wt, may I see the source code?  PM me please

What are your intentions for the source code?
848  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: "The Perfect Crime": What if Mark K is a (small-time) Criminal and a Huge Patsy? on: March 17, 2014, 03:42:52 AM
Yes, of course, its all so clear now. It always has been the Bilderberg's illuminati controlling it all. I'm so happy that Mark Karpeles isn't just a stupid fat fuck that lost a shitload of Bitcoins.

hell of a punchline.
849  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Mizuho Bank added as a defendant to lawsuit against Mt. Gox on: March 17, 2014, 02:43:16 AM
Suing the bank also has the practical effect that the bank will now try to document that it was all Mt. Gox/Karpeles fault. This will help track where the money went.
850  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How i lost respect for Cryptsy on: March 17, 2014, 12:28:33 AM
they are ruining my investments by adding so many shitcoins and obvious pump and dumps. If i'm speaking honestly, it makes me a bit sick inside how they are willing to whore their site out to the flavor of the altcoin week. voting system is unprofessional, site navigation is painful, and i generally dislike their UI, except for the actual market pages which are well designed themselves. other than that, i really have no qualms with cryptsy. they generally have fixed most of their problems, and the only major security vulnerability they've had was session collision, which should have(and to my knowledge it has) been fixed by now. I will point out a couple of positives surrounding cryptsy:

1. they have competent staff members(cept mullick of course Wink )
2. they have the most secure backend, with a custom fork detection system that automates maintenance on the markets, leaving them free to test/improve their source code, and assist customers.
3. they have an actual physical office.
4. there are a few staff members who are dedicated to monitoring User Accounts to prevent theft of User funds.

imagine how great cryptsy would be if Vern stuck to the backend and hired a trader to design the frontend...
851  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ** UNDERRATED ALT-COINS ** on: March 17, 2014, 12:14:06 AM
OSC of course.
852  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Least amateurish Altcoin exchange? on: March 16, 2014, 04:19:52 AM
btc e? didn't know this was comedy hour. session fixation, session collision, predictable password hashes.

kraken? user interface is painful to navigate.

CryptoAve same as above.

cryptsy resource hog, odd withdrawal outages. previous session collision problems. has some cool technology(called BOB, a fork detection system basically) on the backend though, i can attest to the ability of the developer(s). this being said, the user interface is terrible and navigation is painful. They have a full staff dedicated to protecting user accounts. these employees monitor logins 24 7. they also have an employee responsible for reading and reviewing the source code of each prospective coin to be listed on the exchange. if man power and sound business practices are your primary concern, cryptsy might be the best out there in all honesty. voting system is unprofessional

coins-e history of lying and scamming customers. may or may not still be true, another beautiful site with horrible user interface.

bter painful to look at. hire a designer already.

coinex rough start(hacking). good recovery, and neat idea of combining mining with an exchange platform. developers  are not very good at designing user interfaces, as evidenced by the layout of the site, or at the very least they didn't take much time testing navigation prior to launch.

openex piece of shit, totally my fault.

opentransactions a good idea in principal, but in practice it could end badly.

poloniex ugly, amateurish, but pretty fast. developer is honest and pays back his customers for the hacking. very noble in my opinion.

coinmarket apparently the dev team stole a bunch of coins, unless that's all fud.

cryptoaltex uses the openex codebase. probably not a good place to leave your coins.

mintpal best ui i've seen from an exchange, but shady voting system. navigation is tricky, but jquery animations are pleasing to the eyes. i think i like it best out of the exchanges so far, but i'm very opposed to the voting system. that is hands down the most unproffesional thing i've ever seen.

agx.io promising exchange, but user interface is horrible, though pretty

cryptsy is by far the most trustworthy. atomic trade is good, though young.
