I just wanted to report back(Even though most of you are ass holes) That I just got a Reply back from Knc that they are processing my Refund..

Thank you Knc...

Good luck to the rest of you Suckers......

At least you could get a refund from them, that in my book is light years ahead of BFL and Avalon's practices.

they gave me a refund too.  but they did ask questions, which imo is related to the new reseller programs and decreased Nov pricing.

They did ask why I wanted a refund and I simply told them because Bitcoinorama is a ass hole to people on this thread and since he is a spokesperson for them, I wanted Nothing to do with Knc any longer.

What is it with people like Josh and now Bitcoinorama..  Bunch of no good SOB Used Car Salesmen if you ask me..

Anyway thanks again Bitcoinorama for helping me make up my mind..

you have some serious anger issues.

Honestly this forum is too full of cancer.   Everyone instantly attributes every statement as a scam or as FUD.  All I am saying is, why are more people not concerned with the fact this uses an external power supply?   I have _never_ seen a 4U in a data center with an external power supply.  Further it logistically does not work out with the design of most cabinets, unless you're planning on putting it in a 23" rack.  In any case, you sacrifice density, which means an increase in cost, as space isn't free.  I would also imagine the aesthetics of such an arrangement would not be appreciated by the host.

It's not external, it just doesn't come with it's own power supply.  This is likely due to customs reasons, as lots of Avalon customers has their units held up in europe due to their power supplies.  For batch 3 Avalon had an option of shipping without one. It also simplifies their supply chain.

no it actually is external, but what does it even matter right?

Put it on a fucking milk crate. Jesus. This isn't rocket science.

No more pre-order please...

dito.. would be nice to purchase a in stock item for next day delivery.

If a company offers a miner at a reasonable price, people are going to order it ahead of time, and by the time the company has it all their stock will already be accounted for.

or not .. as we seen bfl .. avalon .... stop falling for these pre-orders ! no more pre-orders ! want to sell something ? have in stock !

No More Pre Orders. Please

stop spamming threads.

Wait wait wait wait wait... that's they're Jupiter cooling? ROFLMAO. Those heatsinks are rated for peak of ~140W, not 250. And they think they can exhaust 1kw of heat with 2 standard 120mm fans?

My 1x250mm 1x200mm, 5x140mm and 2x120mm case was struggling with 800-900W. I told you those thermal simulations were really, really wrong.

Sorry to disappoint you guys, KNC lives in the clouds.

You are obviously clueless, I suggest you check the specs of the components before pretending you know better.

thanks for this. yup. 320 watts max. well within limits.

I'm aware of the options of getting something in a rack, but my main point was the external PSU. I haven't seen a whole lot of equipment in racks that had external PSUs, so you are either going to have to eat up space in the rack somewhere for the PSU, or create an area outside the rack for the PSUs. Either way, this is eating up valuable space in an expensive area to house things Smiley

True, I agree with your conclusion.

There is an important participant of this forum discussing the role of the PSU for the KnC case:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=273584

I have reached out to them to confirm what the rail requirements are for the PSU. Hopefully they will nip this in the butt and just clear the air as it really seems it has to be a typo.

The saying is nip it in the bud. Not butt. But I appreciate you trying haha

Anyone else notice the knc sticker on one of the heat sinks? Nice touch.

You live in an underpowered country.  Grin
Here 16A x 240V = 3840W per outlet is the norm.

kettles boil water so much faster in 240v countries.....sigh.

Potential customer come to the thread with legit questions and what follows is bashing and off-topic posts a la BFL. Few participants here are completely deluded, desperate trying to hide the facts with a torrent of unrelated words and photos.

This is a behaviour quite usual in people participating in fraudulent pyramid schemes, where the people near at the top try every trick in the book to inspire a false sense of confidence. As they profit rely on keep the true nature of the scheme away from the inquiring mouths, they bash and disrupt any question which could reveal what the scheme is really about.

I hope, for the sake of the potential customers and investors, that KnC is really going to deliver all their orders as promised. However, their lack of a PR person working in this forum shows that something is not right on track. No business can be completely successful and trustworthiness without the good work of PR person.

lol.
