I am depressed about it but what can you do?
You can't make it rain for everyone all the time ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

I have an little problem or bug by cgminer 4.9.2. Who can help me?
Well this is the support thread for CGMiner. So post your problem/bug. Preferably with screen captures, your command line and .conf file if you use that.

Cool. Is it possible for you to open-source this program? I have a few ideas for it. Can you tell what pool(s) are currently mining 0 transaction blocks consistently? Thanks, Sam
Are you saying that some pools can opt out of mining empty blocks? I thought you don't know what's coming until you finish mining the block :-/ I guess you learn something new everday day! As Kano explained, pools can choose whether they mine empty blocks or not. Evidently it used to be common for some pools to mine either empty or very small blocks. My old message was asking what pools were still doing that on a regular basis. I think the answer was none except for the initial work immediately after a block find.

Older versions Identify it as a "BAS' aka single. I think back around March, or page 798 of this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=28402.msg10844936#msg10844936-ck updated the driver to properly tell the difference between a monarch and the older 65nm stuff. CGminer works great with my older monarchs but these units all have later firmware (the latest i think) and they behave poorly when using cgminer. They mine at full speed with that "other" mining software but it has very high CPU usage with many monarchs connected to one host. This was reported before (I believe by Os2sam) where they updated the firmware and never told us anything, breaking cgminer. We've lost all contact with BFL (which was very tenuous at the best of times anyway) and neither Kano nor I have any working BFL hardware any more to update the software, so there really isn't much choice I'm afraid. Yep, I forgot about it over my summer as I shutdown the Monarchs because it was just too warm to run them. But if hardware is what you need I would be happy to send you my unit for development purposes. I would need it back when the software was working with it though.

As I've read off post ain't the best shares just cosmetic, but shares is what really matters?
On a solo pool share count is cosmetic. You want a best share equal to or greater than current difficulty.
|
|
|
PPS pays you a flat rate based on current difficulty. The pool takes a HUGE risk with Pay Per Share, PPS, so they have to charge a higher fee to, hopefully, make up for bad luck.
I will not use PPS anymore now that I understand the risk pools have to take to give us the flat rate. So you will never make more when a pool has good luck or less when it has bad luck.

I don't mine, I use faucets. Much easier.
Just out of curiosity, how much do you earn by doing that? Can't be much, right... Begging is NOT earning. Edit: Let me rephrase that. Taking advantage of the charity of others is not earning.

Are there any issues with the CK Solo server having Mh/s hashrate?
No there are no issues. I mine with BE's from time to time as well as a Jalapeno. There are several others using BE's as well.

* kano looks in the fridge and see eggs - nom ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) The chicken or the egg? That's an even older question then 42 is the answer is for.

and all this....because I'm courious about this hash renting
I want to understand if it's relevant to rent better faster equippement or no matter how many miners as long the total hash is greater...
and for how long....
Well, if you rent 456253.85Ths you should find a block in about 10 minutes.
|
|
|
but generating this magic number does take time and bigger number, longer is the time, no ?
No. Each roll of the 62.3 Billion sided die has an equal chance of landing on the winning side. Higher hash rate means more roll's of the die in a given period of time.
|
|
|
100 000 block eruptors will beat a new generation miner?
100,000 BE's would mine at 33.3 Ths. So if the new generation miner is less than 33.3Ths then yes they would, most likely, beat the new gen miner. Miles per hour is not a valid analogy. Mining is not a race.

Anyone knows the most luckiest here i mean who mined a block with very low hashrate..?? am trying my luck a 31 Mh/s . DO you think i can hit one , if yes then at how much time?
I think someone found a block with 285Ghs. 31Mhs? Are you CPU mining or is that a very low end GPU. Either way your using allot of electricity and wear and tear on your machine.

I just installed Bitcoin core .11.1 over my .10.2. It's starting up and displaying the message "Activation best chain". I have never seen a message like that. What, exactly, does it mean? Thanks, Sam
That is a normal message. It is just checking its blocks to find the longest blockchain and its chain tip. Just wait and it will finish. OK, it's a new "normal" message. So this version is using the standard block chain and NOT the XT blocks, right? Edit: thanks for the reply. Yes, its just a new message not a new behaviour -> https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/commit/3e2559cSounds good. Thanks

It should be noted that while improbable, it is technically possible for any miner to solve a block. There are miners out there that solo mine with low-end miners (ub, etc) as "lottery miners" in the hopes that one day, their little low-power asic miner will solve a block.
any source you have that proofs your above statement....if yes please post here...will love to see it ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) You want proof that miners "hopes" to solve a block? ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Well I'm one of them running either 27 BE's or one Jalapeno solo mining in the hopes that they may one day solve a block. Don't know if that counts as proof? Still I don't expect to find a block and I still wouldn't recommend anyone CPU or GPU mining. It takes too much electricity and too much wear and tear on a machine. BE's take to much electricity too but at least they are made for the purpose of mining. Have fun, Sam

LOL i was mining with my notebook with 31 MH/s lolol ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) ....thanks guys for helping me out.... ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) You'll destroy your notebook mining. ASIC mining hardware has made GPU mining obsolete just like GPU mining had made CPU mining obsolete about 4 years ago.
