U pozitivnom smislu.

Only the price that is the factor of a shitcoin? lol, you need to learn about decentralization.
Not only price.

Then, what other factors did you have in mind when you said this:
"Besides I can be correct to say that bitcoin was once a shit coin, when it was worth many figures less than a cent."

No, you can't be correct in saying that because nobody in their right mind called Bitcoin that.

The term "shitcoin" was first used by member ribuck back in 2010, when he perfectly predicted what would happen in the following years:

...it would have to be better in some way other than just "I started the new chain, so I've got a lot of the easy-to-generate-at-the-beginning-coins."
You say that now, but if bitcoin really takes off I can see lots of get-rich-quick imitators coming on the scene: gitcoin, nitcoin, witcoin, titcoin, shitcoin... Some of them are sure to attract users with promises like "Why use bitcoin, where you can only generate 50 bitcoins every few months? Use shitcoin instead, and you'll get 51 shitcoins every 2 minutes".

Of course the cheap imitators will disappear as quickly as those 1990s "internet currencies" like flooz and beenz, but lots of people will get burned along the way.

From that point on, the term "shitcoin" was a synonym used for all the clones and copycats of Bitcoin, with no real purpose, that followed.

I am not defending altcoins but I am saying that altcoin promoters or lovers shouldn't be segregated.

Why not? Even those altcoin lovers (God forgive me for saying this) have the right to speak their mind, and they do have their own space on this forum. The Altcoins section is there mainly because all altcoins are basically spin-offs of Bitcoin, so they're connected to Bitcoin and blockchain tech in some way. But let's be real, that doesn't mean the altcoins talk is super crucial for the whole Bitcoin ecosystem.

This is about freedom, let us allow everyone to enjoy this freedom at the confine of the forum rules and regulations.

Yes, people have the freedom to express their opinions. So what are you ranting about?

~snip~

This is why we have built JustBet. You can directly play from your web3 wallet. Instant payouts, no deposit, no withdrawal, no KYC, no bullsh*t. No one can ban you. Use decentralized casino and stay safe.
^ How many web3 gambling casinos are out there now?
That is definitely right, a KYCed casino should left behind on this web3 casino. They doing trap promotion that seems a bait to their customer from banning and saying goodbye to their money once it has a balance. It is a shame that the casino has had many complaints recently.
Has your Justbet promoted it here?
Every promotions for casino is a trap promotion, it's the same with every jackpot you hit from casino, it will take heavens grace and your own knowledge to avoid giving the money back to them because of your own greed.

The problem I have with web3 casinos is how they will maintain no KYC policy while they are growing, it's like been decentralized, since all you need is to connect your wallet to the platform and gamble.

I remember what happened with Uniswap, they work in such manner too, but they later succumb to the SEC power, they block project off the platform.

If they can do this, any web 3 online casino can come up with rubbish too, whatever this person is telling you about web 3 casino is another promotion too, will they keep to it on the long run? That's a million dollar question.

Even if they're Web3 casinos, they're not completely decentralized. They still require a website, software, a centralized database on servers, a domain, and a bunch of other centralized stuff that are under regulatory control. They might be able to fly under the radar for a limited time, but eventually, their activities are likely to catch the attention of authorities or regulatory bodies.

846  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinex hacked, $18M stolen? on: September 13, 2023, 08:47:32 AM
edit: i found archived snapshot from June 20th and there you could see the details. What's interesting though is that just a few months ago they allegedly had $182 million in their reserve and now it fell down to barely over $20 million.

https://web.archive.org/web/20230620035753/https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/coinex/

Perhaps the financial reserves data is automatically retrieved from their hot/cold wallet addresses. Given that many of those wallets have been drained (and Coinex may have made some transactions themselves to safeguard the funds), this could explain why the total has decreased significantly and why there is no longer detailed data showing individual token allocations.

You can actually copy the addresses from the website archive and check them in the blockchain explorer. The ones I checked do indeed show the withdrawal of all assets in the last 12 hours.

849  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ouch, today someone made a transaction with over $500k fee. on: September 12, 2023, 04:40:59 PM
If that were true, it would be an incredibly costly way to spread FUD, with an almost negligible impact in the end!! I can come up with at least a dozen more effective ways to spread FUD if someone were truly willing to invest that much money.
My belief goes to their belief in mining pools that won't enjoy those bitcoin. If a mining pool is greedy and take it, that mining pool will be criticized by community and I did not check but some mistakenly transactions like this one, only went to big mining pools.

But still, that would be too much of a gamble. Over 2% of all blocks each month are mined by solo miners or obscure mining pools that are unknown to the public. If there's no one to point fingers at, the community wouldn't have anyone to criticize.

I wonder if F2Pool stated how exactly is the unlucky sender supposed to make a claim. I wouldn't be surprised if they got flooded with spam messages from either jokers or scammers pretending to be the sender, so it might take some time to weed out the fake ones and verify the real one.

Regardless of the communication method, I'm confident that the folks at F2Pool are smart enough to know the only surefire way to prove address ownership. We're in the crypto world, after all.
850  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ouch, today someone made a transaction with over $500k fee. on: September 12, 2023, 12:20:41 PM
The in and out transactions look big enough in number of transactions pointed out by Jameson Lopp but I don't really think it can be a software bug. It can be something intentionally did to create fud like Bitcoin is not perfect, you can lose money with it by using a Bitcoin software to send transactions. The market is still in rumor season so I am keen on this assumption.

If that were true, it would be an incredibly costly way to spread FUD, with an almost negligible impact in the end!! I can come up with at least a dozen more effective ways to spread FUD if someone were truly willing to invest that much money.

Why do you think it's not just a software bug? It's happened before, you know.
851  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin User Just Paid Half a Million Dollars for a Single Transaction on: September 12, 2023, 12:09:03 PM
1. It appears to be a legitimate mistake not trying to launder the money via mining which is mostly the other possibility.
The topic of laundering always comes up whenever we see such abnormal transaction fees whether on bitcoin network or other chains but to be honest, I would like to know how this works.

How does one Launder money via transaction fees if they don't even know the next pool or solo miner to confirm the block?

Right. This could only work if the pool had internally included the transaction in their block. However, I find it unlikely in this case because the transaction was publicly broadcast, so F2Pool would have no way of knowing who will mine that block. Besides, Chun Wang from F2Pool already stated that he will put these 20 BTC on hold for now and wait three days for the owner to claim them.

Thanks for your story. I didn't know they send out "unexpected bonuses"
I think that is very bad and goes against responsible gambling.
Sorry but how is sending out an unexpected bonuses to a customer very bad , and goes against responsible gambling?

Good point! I'm not quite sure if his problem lies with the "unexpected" or the "bonus"?! Personally, considering we're in the gambling section, I'd say the "unexpected bonus" sounds way more enticing than the expected one!  Cheesy

Funny how some forum members are asking admin to add more sub-board like Cybersecurity and NFTs to the forum and yet we have some that wants to remove some.
Yep--but the old rule is that you can't please everyone all of the time.  That said, this is the first time I'm seeing a request to delete any child boards.  What we usually see is just what you said, people requesting subsections for crap like NFTs.

Oh, what a surprise! OP is doing the same thing: Altcoin Wallet Board In Alternate Cryptocurrencies Needed - Why Admin Sleep ?

Looks like someone took a wrong turn somewhere. You know, when you want to visit shitcoinstalk.org, but autocorrect redirects you to the wrong forum.  Wink
856  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit - be aware, i was lucky on: September 12, 2023, 10:04:08 AM
But as casino side, They view this as unprofitable and abused to their promotion that’s why they ban such user after withdrawing the funds. Not all user in the casino is doing this so they just banning someone that doing it instead of updating the ToS just for the sake of controlling minimal number of user that doing this thing.

Remember, that there’s no money loss here. The OP got his money including the reward. I wonder how can he be mad and accuse a casino scam after he got his 100% balance.
No money loss, is not the point to justify a wrong or a trap to use it as a bait for players to ban their account. I don't know if the OP is mad or not, how strong his feeling about it. But what I am saying is it's a good excuse for Rollbit to use this shady promo and banning many accounts.

I agree with this. And I'm not talking about this specific case because I can't know for sure if this is actually the reason that caused the player to be banned or if there is something else that we don't know about. But generally, if a casino allows betting at certain odds or certain methods to clear bonuses and meet wagering requirements, then they can't use that as an excuse to restrict players. This should be defined in the bonus terms, or even better, regulated by software on the platform itself so that the player cannot even use such methods accidentally. If a player has not broken any defined rules, then they have no basis for restricting him, regardless of his betting patterns. I'm just illustrating here, but if, for example, they have a x5 wagering requirement to clear the bonus amount, then they can't limit a player because they haven't wagered their amount 50 times. Likewise, if they haven't defined what odds are required, then they shouldn't limit the player just because he bet 1.01x, not 1.5x or 2x. Such practices of restricting players without a valid reason are considered discriminatory and are even illegal in some jurisdictions, regardless of what is stated in their Terms of Service.

Better to post the whole BB code so that the other members also know what just happened. I had no idea what was going on until I just checked this thread. This shows that they know what they are doing and just refuse to update us what on what happened.

At least now we know he's still alive and lurking around, probably setting up his new scam. What an a-hole. The least he could do is update us on what's going on with the platform.
859  Other / Meta / Re: Too Many Forum Boards - Outdated Threads - Let's Delete Boards on: September 10, 2023, 10:28:05 AM
The problem is that in the small and outdated forum board, can be also important thread, which can be missed.

Actually, it's the opposite – on smaller boards, you can easily find important threads because they stick around on the first page for longer. All these boards you mentioned serve a purpose and should stay, even if they haven't been updated for a while. Take "Important Announcements," for instance. If you read the description, it says, "Only VIPs, global moderators, and administrators can post here." So, it makes sense why there aren't many new topics, but every new post will definitely get noticed.

Why we need in Archival board Chinese students with majority threads in 2011 ?

That's exactly what the Archival board is for.

By the way, it's considered disrespectful to write whole replies in a different font color and avoid making multiple consecutive posts. Read the forum rules.

Imam isti vibe kad obilazim šaltere (zato ih i izbjegavam), ali uvijek sam to pripisivao potplaćenim zaposlenicima. Iako, to nikako nije oravdanje.
