This all looks excellent! Thanks guys for your time and efforts in this project - you rock!

What's wrong with exchanged i2p? I wanted to check and it seems it's always down...!

Ok, if that is the route the PHS community wants to take, then Noise23 can proceed with the rollback when ready and cryptopia will just delist PHS. Maybe a week or so after the rollback is completely finished , we can try and get on Yobit, there fee is .1 BTC if I remember correctly. ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) FYI: Point of clarification NXT did not go thru with the rollback. https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/official-nxt-decision-blockchain-rollback/Cryptopia is caught between a rock and a hard place, if they allow it for one they would have to allow it for everyone and that could destabilize all of crypto, if a lot of coins started doing it. So IMO, they are a Great Exchange and highly principled. Makes sense. I didn't realize the NXT rollback didn't happen in the end! That would have been a lot more complex/messier than for PHS given the size of their blockchain and zillion assets/currencies... And yes, it's a good sign for Cryptopia; still I believe their business model is very risky. And at the end of the day I don't feel tied to them. Given the price of listing at Yobit I think we shouldn't hesitate, whatever we do with Cryptopia. It's safer for all of us to have 2 exchanges rather than just 1.

|
|
That works only in theory i'm afraid.
Nxt did a rollback a few months back and they are still listed in a few big exchanges. Cryptopia was a good solution when we needed it but if we paid to be listed there we can pay to be listed elsewhere. Bleu, Yobit and other exchanges could be good alternatives.
If your problem is a problem of justice noise23 you can always guarantee to pay back any genuine transaction that was cancelled with the rollback. Not sure how much is at stake though. At least that would show your good faith to a potential new exchange.
My feeling about Cryptopia; -I'm not keen to see an exchange dictate what we should do as a community -I'm not too confident either; they are new and they have so many coins that i don't know how they can manage the type of risks that made Cryptsy fall...
I'm not sure how escrows work but we could set one up so that we can all contribute to financing the new exchange.

Can you tell us more about the reason why Cryptopia doesn't want to do the rollback?

@VladK, there is 15 days limitation for the max PoS weight already.
PoS weight is a chance to get reward. The sum of reward depends only on coindays and have no limit right now. And supportive of the reward period change as well.

|
|
Fully supportive.
-noise23, let's roll back the blockchain -VladK, I'm also with you: we should think about the long term changes needed: PoS halving (or curve/fixed amount) and higher tx. However I'm not sure now is the right time as if we do this together with the roll-back it will have to be done in a short time... which is not great for the community. If we change the coin specs, let's do this in a clean way; have a vote open over a 1 month voting period for each aspect to be updated. This way we allow everyone involved to participate.

I did what kiklo advised a few days back to check my block sizes and they are all <60 PHS.
See below for reference-
------------------- If not already , enable coin control Click on settings, click options, click display, place a checkmark beside Display Coin Control , click OK
Click Send Coins, Click Inputs, Click + sign , This expands the windows, so you can see the actual date & time the block was created. -------------------
If all of us have small blocks (thx for splitting yours btw), then having enough stake time is important for times when only a few small stakers are staking...
|
|
|
I believe the solution will be not to consolidate the blocks and let them be split into smaller ones. We need to increase the number of small blocks trying to stake instead of having less and bigger blocks.
OK, but how do we increase the number of small blocks? I don't think that if we build stake time we will increase the size of the blocks.. unless I've missed something I guess we are all open to suggestions ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

The PHS network appears to be healthy again ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) It is healthy but the situation remains tense when you look at total stake weight (my weight is about 1/6th of what it used to be before the issues we faced). I believe that large holders should stake a little more (at least part of their fortune) so that we, smaller holders, can build stake time. This will probably fix weight related issues (too little stake weight at times). For smaller holders that also means staking even if we don't get much stake due to the bigger stakers - temporarily.

Hmm, Did any of you use Noise's blockchain download to get back connected. If so try a restart your PHS wallet with -rescan to make sure those blocks were not created on a fork. If their valid blocks , they should still be there after the rescan. ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) Worked for me- thanks!

I've got a question on the wallet generator; is it safe to play with the word list to further increase security? If yes are there any restrictions? i.e. word-length or characters?
Thanks

Synced and staking as well! I guess we were a lucky few on the same fork at the same time to keep going. If you are on a different fork (i.e. no sync) try to remove the blockchain and download it again. Alternatively, I've put my blk0001.dat in the dropbox folder here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xjleq1n3ky0hwj9/blk0001.dat?dl=0Hopefully this solves the problem for everyone. The good thing with the issue is that we see how many of us are involved and staking!!!
|
|
|
Maybe it's because there were too few people staking over the weekend, the number of connections and stake weight was quite low over the last month or so, and dangerously close to 0 this weekend... we definitely need PalmDetroit...
|
|
|
If i remember well the last time we had this issue it was due to someone staking with the wrong time (i.e. few secs or minutes early vs. the rest of the network). Could everyone check their system time and adjust if it's not correct?

I also noticed that article, interesting. Moneta is a scam

An extra exchange would be nice indeed! But which one should we target? VladK - It's great to see your interest in developing services on PHS!! - What is the "nothing to stake problem"? the fact that you need PHS to start earning interest? - Changing the size of the message is a good idea if it's for good/interesting services. If not: - if it has a small impact on blockchain size - fine that makes no difference
- if it has a sizeable impact on blockchain size, I don't think it's a good idea. PHS works because many people stake, a big(ger) blockchain may be a hurddle to installing/using the client/staking

Uhm, stupid me, but how come I have missed that also cex.io trades Anoncoins. Has anyone tried to withdraw ANC from Cryptsy, depositing to cex.io?
CEX.io works well, there may be a limit for ANC withdrawals (need to split big ones into several smaller ones). Not sure about the direct move from Cryptsy to CEX

NoobKid how much are you asking for the space in your signature? It looks like a terrific marketing investment

Hi guys,
I believe the exchange rate of XAI is too favorable according to the real coin prices in the market. It should be .5 BARR per XAI to be fair with KEY and FRAC. Can you pls update this before Nov 1st?
