841  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is for everybody but we must accept it before it can be ours. on: October 06, 2023, 10:47:06 PM

On Bitcointalk I have seen topics that say Bitcoin is not for everyone maybe that thought is based on their own opinions, but I totally diagree with it, if I may ask who will see something good and reject it? No body, even if some people rejected it, it might be because of the laws from the higher authorities like government or military.
Bitcoin is for everybody, but we all have to accept it before it can be ours so I conclude that we must first accept bitcoin before we can have access to it and if you don't accept bitcoin you can't invest on it.

Bitcoin is actually not for everyone, you need to understand that the reason people accept bitcoin is for the promise of higher return of investment. It is only few that accepted bitcoin because they want to control their money.
If accepting bitcoin is for money and you see an old wealthy man who makes up to $100k a day. Do you think that the person still has need for bitcoin?

There is fiat and bitcoin is purely an alternative. If someone is ok with the main, what then is the need for the alternative? Bitcoin is available for everyone, but it is not everyone that will be interested in bitcoin.
842  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Do You Guys Think About This Simple Analogy? Anything to Add or Remove? on: October 06, 2023, 10:32:39 PM
Today I want to share a simple comparison method I used when talking (not persuading) them about bitcoin adoption. I use the internet adoption example. I ask them if they remember the first time they got on the internet. How they got on it and what their reason(s) was or were. I further ask them what thought process got them to decide to use the Internet. I have found out that their answers are all the same. I then proceed to tell them that Bitcoin will be the same. The Internet is a tool and people choose to use it or not. How much harder will life be if they don't use Internet. I tell them that at some point life may be much harder if they haven't adopted bitcoin.

I think that bitcoin has passed the level of your analogy and marketing. This you said in OP should be relevant 10yrs ago when bitcoin was still in its very early adoption. When only a few people trusted bitcoin and when bitcoin was just a synonym for scam.
But today, bitcoin has proven itself beyond reasonable doubt such that you do not need to approach anyone to preach to them about bitcoin. Rather if anyone perceives that you are into bitcoin, they will be the ones to approach you to tell them more about bitcoin.
843  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Many BTC does the Forum's Administrators Have? on: October 06, 2023, 10:12:32 PM
Ok thanks for this, but I really don't know what we can get out of this data? I mean what purpose that it will served knowing the administrators BTC in their possession or how much they have right now?

Maybe this has made me know how rich theymos is;
This will give me the reassurance that theymos will continue to pay for the domain of this forum for a long time;
The data will also make you understand that Welsh is a rich staff Grin

I'm sorry but this is non-sense, sorry to burst the bubble @OP. Unless you are a tax collector,  Wink

Op would have made further efforts by including that of satoshi to the data. It is obviously that of Satoshi's address that people are so interested to know and to claim.
844  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HODL is purely a mental challenge on: October 05, 2023, 11:58:36 PM
...After all, it's a very important lesson to know that HODL is purely a mental challenge. If you want to HODL correctly, you should know and pay attention to all points mentioned above.  Smiley
If you are a holder, you can also determine within yourself how long you want to hold for. Your reasons for holding has to be well articulated. There are even more people holding now than before. They have started to understand it's importance. One of such is the low volatility.

Reason for holding is such a great challenge.
If I am holding to build a house after the bull run and in the process of holding, there is a financial problem that is needed to solve, if I have no emergency fund, it means that I could cut my hodl short and take care of the most needful.
The best hodler is one who holds with spare money, or money that is actually not budget for anything. This is the only way to keep going even in the middle of a dip bear

I agree that hodling is a mental challenge, especially if the hodler is always a checker of the portfolio and a tracker of the bitcoin price.
845  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The fear of investment on: October 05, 2023, 11:26:39 PM
Hello friends

In our modern society, the fear of being scammed by king pins and other fake platforms has made many people to loose interest in investing bitcoin.
This platform is to enlighten the society that there are real investment platforms and also people earn bitcoins for a living, so they should give it a try and invest so they can also earn and also when it comes to this particular fear I think the environment where one is actually staying also contributes to this fear because just the other I was actually explaining the basic essence of bitcoin to a friend and all he could even think of was that I want to basically scam him of his money of which he doesn’t even know that bitcoin is actually a currency on which people benefit wonderful opportunity like through savings.

The fear of losing money through investment makes people prefer saving to investment. I was a victim but my own case was different. I have seen many people who were scammed through bitcoin and that made them to totally hate bitcoin and doesn't really want to hear anything about bitcoin anymore. But in my own case after I was scammed and I paid through bitcoin which actually was my first time of using bitcoin. I discovered it was a scam, then I became curious why they decided to scam through bitcoin and not through bank accounts. That curiosity actually led me to learn about bitcoin. I behaved so differently from many others.

I will also advise to hold your money tight instead of investing in what you do not understand.
846  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] BestChange Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ on: October 05, 2023, 08:28:36 AM

Hello Good day.

Can I ask if why my name was removed in the spreadsheet? It's on Week 194, and it's the latest update. Unfortunately, my name wasn't there. Can you please clarify it for me, or did I get removed? Thanks. Smiley

Obviously, you weren't removed, as Best_Change hardly remove his participants except in rare cases of plagiarism or reputation ruin. Besides, you are a quality promoter of the green banner, you shouldn't be removed without a cogent reason. I also understand that if your name is readded in the SS with the inclusion of Zaguru12, total number of the participants will be 2 above 24. Maybe Best_Change somewhat increased slots.

Congratulations Zaguru12, it is such a pleasure to be selected among many. Keep the honour alife as you journey further in the forum.
847  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitget will introduce mandatory KYC from September 1st on: October 03, 2023, 01:50:45 PM
There is one less exchange without KYC. Who is next?
Why are those exchanges rushing to impose KYC so quickly? We have an average of a large/medium platform every month or a two. I have not read any new legal amendments in Europe, USA, or even the Seychelles and the Cayman Islands, from which licenses are issued for some of these exchanges.

The exchanges are there to serve us, please the government and make their money. If they serve us without pleasing the government, they will run into many troubles. In the process of pleasing the government, the exchanges also enjoy some undue favour and find a way to confiscate funds either on their own or conspiring with the government.

As adoption increases, the government is discovering effective ways to regulating the industry and the more the regulation, the more centralisation is winning the war against privacy and decentralisation.
848  Other / Meta / Re: Here is why Bitcointalk is a reliable source! on: October 03, 2023, 12:47:48 PM
Bitcointalk is very unique compared to other places you can learn about bitcoin. Why I prefer here to google because Google gives a kind of dynamic answer to questions, whereby if you aren't satisfied by the answer, you will have to make another search. This is unlike BTT where a wrong information can be immediately refuted as the conversation progresses.

Why are you unlikely to be publicly scammed?
I consider Bitcointalk as one of the safest forums on the internet. The internet is full of scammers, and Bitcointalk is not without scammers. There are scammers, but you are unlikely to get scammed if you talk in public. Remember, scams are not moderated in this forum. Bitcointalk members are unlikely to scam a random person publicly because others will immediately try to save you from fraud (if they notice).

Your statement seems bogus. There is no way you will consider a forum where scam is not moderated as the safest forum. Bitcointalk has no credit in terms of scam curtailment or moderation. The admin is not even interested, so let's not give BTT such credit.
849  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is there another similar concept? on: October 03, 2023, 12:17:36 PM

° Can an online business besides just a gambling platform, which accepts Bitcoin as payments or for payouts, run a signature campaign on this Bitcoin talk forum, or is the term 'signature campaign' strictly attributed to gambling platforms?

You asked this question because gambling signature campaign seem to dominate the forum. But I will have to mention some other types of projects that run signature campaign in this forum that are not gambling companies;
  • Mixers - After the fall of chipmixer, we have had and still having many mixers in the forum, majority of which is managed by Royse77 and icopress.
  • Exchanges - I have seen many and including the ones that scammed that ran campaign in the forum. But the best of them which is still strong and running a long term campaign is Best_change
  • Others - like decentralisation centred companies like Utopia is running campaign, Trust bank did, wintomato and many others.
850  Economy / Reputation / Re: In Defense of Retaliation-Inspired PMs and Royse777 Camp Management's Reputation on: October 03, 2023, 11:58:24 AM
Royce might not be the most reputable member of this forum, but I am sure that he is not a bad player. For some times now he has cried out on some kind of reputational attacks of him which sometimes arises the case of doubt and uncertainty between him and his potential clients.
I also know that those clients who will be doubtful of the proficiency and sincerity of Royse77 are new to this forum. There is no one who has been here for months who will not vouch for Royse77.

This is a forum that gives people alot of freedom to act, especially the DT members but does not provide an opportunity to punish people who acted wrongly. Everyone will not like Royse77 which is understandable, but it is bad when such hatred is extended to his business and brand.
Royse77 is trustworthy.
851  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Many new projects are now available for users for testing on: October 03, 2023, 11:28:29 AM
You can focus on completing tasks for multiple projects, but I would advise you to create multiple accounts to receive more rewards. If you only concentrate on one project, and it doesn't distribute an Airdrop to users, you may feel disappointed and lose trust in Airdrop events, missing out on many other opportunities. In reality, tasks for projects with Airdrop programs can be quite challenging for newcomers. It's not as easy as before because there are many people cheating by using multiple accounts to earn more rewards. This also reduces the effectiveness of the project's marketing efforts.
If actually you acknowledge that the testing jobs are not always easy and are sometimes complicated for newbies and you also encourage that one should have it more than one. Maybe have to join many testing groups in order to earn more rewards. This simply means that the person will have to take it as a full time job because it will even be more complicated one you are handling such a task with more than 5 projects.
This is actually what gives opportunities for hack because you will need to create many wallets and connect them to different places you may not actually successfully trace when problem arises.
Before anyone will go into such a job, they should verify if it is still worth it at this stage of cryptocurrency evolution.
852  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shiba Inu (SHIB): The Rising Star Redefining the Crypto Landscape on: October 03, 2023, 11:18:22 AM
i'm sure someone with good logic will figure out that investing in shiba inu is no good anymore, better invest in other meme coin that gaining popularity, at least you won't get dumped by millions and millions of earlier holders.
with shiba i lost hope already it will never ever have that kind of bullrun you are expecting.
this coin is already done for from the perspective of investor that try to find massive rally.
I wonder why someone will even still consider Shiba inu as a rising star. Shiba had risen and fallen and many investors have lost hope in Shiba. I do not consider it as a viable investment option anymore. Besides the coin dumped on many people and some are still holding to it which is the reason we will not have many new people to buy the coin.
I have never seen meme coins as serious investment option. The only meme coin that seems to behave differently is the dodge and what made it appear different is the involvement of Elon musk but in the end it is still a meme coin.
853  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do I need a mentor in my bitcoin journey. on: October 03, 2023, 10:21:01 AM
It is not nice for anyone to underrate the power of mentorship. Whoever embarks on a journey with a mentor is slightly going to arrive his destination faster and smoothly. A  Mentor is someone who has passed through the phase of life that you are currently passing through. But anyone that discovers this forum may not have the need for a mentor anymore. Here is  just like having so many mentors and it is now at your own discretion to choose which mentor our group of mentors that you will listen.
854  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What I got from my Friend about Bitcoin on: October 02, 2023, 11:54:15 PM
When I got to know about bitcoin from my friend last two month, she told me more about bitcoin, she also said investing in bitcoin is good. And she asked me to invest on bitcoin that it will be of help to me, she said for more guard she asked me to join this forum bitcointalk. And I accepted her request, so I decided to make some research about bitcoin and this forum bitcointalk because it takes a lot to join a forum, after making my research through the help of the internet I decided to create an account and join this forum. And to my biggest surprise the username has been used, so I used another name then it works.
I will be very much happy to acquire more knowledge in the forum. I am also planning to buy my first coins this week.
Good to know that you researched about bitcoin and also this forum before you joined. This shows your ability to research and therefore means that you will be able to do your own research before you will invest in any cryptocurrency, that is the right thing to do.
Your friend introduced you to one of the most remarkable and beautiful place in the world of cryptocurrency. Enjoy your stay here and never get tired of learning new things and updating yourself.
855  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you manage your finances and family if your income is low range? on: October 02, 2023, 11:23:25 PM
There are many people around us, where their income is not enough to manage a family how do you manage your family and economy? There are many people who manage their family very well even though their income is very low in their personal life, how do you manage it?

If your income is low, you have an extra work to do in order to sustain your family. You must first be smart to detect that your present income is not enough to cater for your family. You have to do the following;
  • Try and handle more jobs in order to earn more in order to sustain your family.
  • You have to learn to spend less. Deprive yourself some luxuries because of your family.
  • Plan to relocate with your family in the case you are living in a very advance area.
  • Endure you do not lose money carelessly
  • The most important is to train your child to leave according to what you have
856  Economy / Economics / Re: Honda Now Accepts Bitcoin and Ethereum As Payment Methods on: October 02, 2023, 11:05:42 PM

As the Heading implies. Honda the giant of Japanese automobile now accept bitcoin and ethereum for payment through a third party partnership deal with a blockchain payment system called FCF Pay.
Honda not only taken the bold step of accepting crypto as payment option, also managed to expand their already huge user base with this important development.

Source
Honestly, it has been a while I last heard a beautiful news of adoption as regards bitcoin. I remember when the news of bitcoin adoption was so rampant such that every headling is either discussing bitcoin adoption or companies set to adopt bitcoin. I do not actually know what slowed down the adoption, it may not be unconnected with the prolonged bear market.

Now that Honda has reminded us again that bitcoin global adoption goal is still alive, let's hope that other competitors will adopt bitcoin as well. I have a strong feeling towards Chevrolet and maybe the controversial Tesla and Elon Musk.
I also know that if the coming bull run does not fail, many companies will adopt bitcoin.
857  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does bitcoin price increase after halving? on: October 02, 2023, 10:51:56 AM
  • Bull run before halving

We should not call it a bull run. These are just some small rallies bitcoin made to create FOMO. Mostly done by exchange to liquidate future traders who open their position with high leverage.

I have always known bull run to be an upward movement of the bitcoin price to a reasonable price. You have just let me understand that it is only a bull run when there is an upward trend after an upward trend without corrections until a new ATH is attained.  Tnks

If based on history, it is true that the bull season will only come after a period of time after the halving, but there have been many questions about whether history will continue to repeat itself and the bull season will still take place after the halving? Because as we see, everything is becoming too easy to predict. Everyone is waiting to sell their bitcoin after the halving, so who will buy our high priced bitcoin?

This is also my fear. According to you, everything is becoming so easy to predict. If we all are waiting to sell after the halving, who will buy our bitcoin at high price? Should we say uninformed newbies, if so, how populated are they. We know that it is during the bull run that many newbies troops to this industry and they join at the wrong time and the market ends up crashing on them.
858  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for October on: October 01, 2023, 08:51:36 PM

I was looking at the chart to deduce what could actually happen  in this month of October, but I was surprised when I actually noticed that bull run may not happen 2014. It could be delayed to 2025. If you look at the chart from 2021, you will notice that the M shape is fully formed and  we know that bull doesn't really happen immediately after the second leg of the M. It seems that consolidation will happen for as long as half bear market happened before the bull run will take off. This might delay bull run to 2025.

Every year, the month of October seems to be a "green candle" month for bitcoin, with skyrocketing prices. Calculating the rise in bitcoin's price from 2013 through 2022 reveals that October has historically seen a significant price increases. So, October this year won't be an exception to that known fact of price increase of bitcoin

Bitcoin October Month Performance

🟢2013 → 60.79%
🟢2015 → 33.49%
🟢2016 → 14.71%
🟢2017 → 47.81%
🟢2019 → 10.17%
🟢2020 → 27.7%
🟢2021 → 39.93%
🟢2022 → 5.56%
⚪2023 → ?? %
Before the month is over, I'm hoping that the price of bitcoin will surpass $30,000.
Still following, 2022 had the lowest rise. So, with the current price of bitcoin, with a 5% rise take it to 30k? The current price is 27,105 and 5% of it is about +1355 which will not the price above 29k.
859  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does bitcoin price increase after halving? on: October 01, 2023, 08:32:00 PM
Halving events have frequently been associated with increase in price of bitcoin with significant upward momentum both before and after halving. Bitcoin halving often generate increased market attention and hype. Expectation of lower supply and likely price increase may fuel positive feelings amongst investors and traders.
This is not the first time that bitcoin is halving. Other past halvings already had a bull run that accompanied it. So, this time around would not be a different one. Talking about the price increase that accompanies the halving, it happens in two ways which is;
  • Bull run before halving
  • Bull run after halving
The bull run before the halving does not last very long, it is only a preliminary to the main bull run but people tend to sell here thinking it is the main bull run. The main  bull run  happens few months after the halving and that is the major bull run but it is not everyone that enjoys this bull run because they must have sold earlier.
860  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you believe Technical Analysis? on: October 01, 2023, 06:45:20 PM
Even outside the world of cryptocurrency, when there is involvement of a word called speculation, there is always a database to fall back to in order to have the idea of what to speculate. You cannot just speculate out of a thin air. There should be some tips of what has happened and how it will likely happen in the future and that is where history has to come in.

The technical analysis is all about interpreting history into a graphical form to be able to correlate the past with the present. This is a very strong to in making prediction in the crypto-currency market. However, this does not work alone, you need argument it with fundamentals. Both technical and fundamental analysis complement each other because it is what happens in the news that will begin to play out in the current charts. Also the chart shows you what will happen in the future depending on the psychology of the traders.
