841  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitcoin is collapsing! Sell your ASICs NOW while you still can! on: December 13, 2014, 09:36:38 PM
I LOL at screwballs who admittedly do not mine yet spend their time hanging out on mining forums posting sob stories about why they do not mine.   Cry

I guess you must just "do it for a hobby" or "to maintain the network"   Roll Eyes

he is not posting a story, but saying why its bad to invest as a hobby into ASICs. Maybe if we have something new this year, then that might be a great investment opportunity for making profits with mining.
842  Other / Off-topic / Re: My Raspberry Pi just arrived! Some problems on: December 13, 2014, 09:32:14 PM
I got everything solved after a few hours of messing around eventually replaced the sd card and reinstalled the operating system and everything is running smoothly to this day.

I guess best place to post this would be a rasp-pie forum. You would hardly get help on a bitcoin forum.
843  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DriveShare - Earn money by sharing your extra hard drive space on: December 13, 2014, 09:25:55 PM
We have perform a second DriveShare load test, this time with 502 Farmers, all seem to work well.
A few more tests and some tuning and we should be on our way to the beta launch for Test group A.
Not long to go!

How do we sign up to be a part of the beta launch? If we own SJCX can we directly do that?
844  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Are ponzi games still a thing? on: December 13, 2014, 09:23:45 PM
I remember a while ago ponzi gambling games were all over the place, now I can't find a single one. They were quite fun, but why did they go down?
If anyone is interested, I would start up one.

You have to look more. And they are now becoming smarter,so you hardly take notice that a partciular sceme is a ponzi scheme.
845  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Microsoft surrendered to Bitcoin on: December 13, 2014, 09:20:57 PM
Microsoft surrendered to Bitcoin as the trend for decentralized currency and decentralized exchange continues on.

PS: The Trend is your Friend.

Uhm, this is quit old news already. There are also a few other threads about it.
But, to have a discussion:

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.

Mahatma Gandhi

Since they use bitpay, they are still in the ignoring phase  Wink
It also provides selling pressure, means price is going down.

yes, but for every selling pressure there is also a buying pressure. Which would potentially make price go up. Evens out.
846  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Direct download for latest blockchain on: December 13, 2014, 09:18:01 PM
Torrent is the best way to go about it .Downloading more than 20 GB directly, without a good speed becomes burdensome.
847  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 13, 2014, 09:10:10 PM
Hypothetically if somebody offered you guys 5000 USD per BTC that you own (and you had to sign an agreement saying you wouldn't buy any more, that's it, your participation in BTC is over) would you take it right now?
If I own 1000 BTC, and I am offered that. I would take it Smiley
Not sure if my wife would stop buying anymore.
848  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin goes down to $200 this week? on: December 13, 2014, 08:41:58 PM
...
Didn;t they sell all the coins in the previous auction?
...

No.  They sold 50k BTC.  They still have ~94K to sell.

Haven;t they decided when they will sell them? It would certainly affect the price over the next 2-3 months.
849  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which is your strategy on dice sites? on: December 13, 2014, 08:39:06 PM
One bet at 50% with all I can afford to use, or not gamble at all.
Its impossible to beat for long terms.
850  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ROBBED on: December 13, 2014, 08:38:19 PM
It may be the thief got the wallet long back and spent the time till now trying to crack the password.

Its scary how a veteran member gets robbed.
I think he mentioned that he had a long tough password. Its usually impossible that it would be cracked by bruteforcing.
851  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BITCOIN Stolen!!! on: December 13, 2014, 08:35:39 PM
why people can't leave bitcoin on cold storage, it's so difficult? it make your btc not hackable or everything related to that shit

If you don't have a lot of bitcoins in your wallet, then moving it to cold storage would be useless, as to spend you will have to bring it back.
But with any amount >5BTC it is always adviced to move the funds to cold storage.
852  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Purchasing bitcoins – a profitable investment? on: December 13, 2014, 08:32:22 PM
Bitcoins are a good investment if holding for long term. It has big volatility so following it regularly would be stressful.

Buy them, put them in cold storage and come back after a few years.

i repeat...

i think bitcoin is good for the long run...

but if you are exper in trading you can gain in less time...

just check to the new altcoin releas...

they are in the pump&dump scheme..
so in you have good intuition you will do good gain in a few time!!!

Its still hard to say, that it might be good in the long run. Just like dollars even if bitcoin is adopted by many people, it wouldn't mean that the price would keep going up.
853  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you earn Bitcoins? on: December 13, 2014, 08:21:26 PM
I stay away from gambling because it's simply against my religion, so I just do services to people or sell steam,battle.net,origin games.

Gambling is the worst way to earn bitcoins. Its the most riskiest, and probably wouldn't be a way to actually earn.
actually a few months ago i won 0.4 out of 0.02 and then bouth myself a tablet

Gambling is really no way to earn bitcoins. But if you get lucky, maybe you can win coins.
But again, due to the edge casinos have, if you continue playing, you will probably lose more.
854  Economy / Speculation / Re: Seriously ... whats your buy price? on: December 13, 2014, 08:16:54 PM
I have been watching the market for a while now looking for a good time to buy more Bitcoin. Over the past several months I have spent a total of 9.27 bitcoin on random gear, gift cards and general use ... doing my part in helping the ecosystem. I am looking for a good price to buy back in and honestly would be a heavy buyer in the low 200's, high 100's.

I am just curious what the price point needs to be for the "no kidding" people on the fence or just hanging on are buying at.

I have asked this question to several friends and family that have been following bitcoin and their price too seems to be the 180-200 mark, in that they would feel very compelled to buy.

Dont know what it is, 350-390 just doesnt feel right! Maybe im crazy and call me out if so...
The thing is that its hard for bitcoin to stay at a fixed price. Even if it does come back to 100$ , then only a few millions are required for price to go back up.
To me a 100$ spot would be the best price for bitcoin, as I don;t use it for investing.
855  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin goes down to $200 this week? on: December 13, 2014, 08:14:02 PM
The only thing that I consider could drive bitcoin down to $200 this week is a US marshals announcement of another auction straight after Christmas. Unless that happens I consider $200 highly unlikely this week.
Didn;t they sell all the coins in the previous auction?
Or are you talking about new sites which might be taken down and auctions for those?
856  Economy / Speculation / Re: Fake buy wall support finally GONE on: December 13, 2014, 08:12:18 PM
Where is the buy wall that you mention?

Your screenshot shows nothing interesting.

Yeah seems pretty confusing. Also, it would be hard to say that its the exchanges who set up these buywalls.
COuld very well be traders doing it.
857  Economy / Gambling / Re: Sports Betting on: December 13, 2014, 08:10:33 PM
for sports betting, is there certain sports that have better odds to predict?

I think individual sports r easier to predict..but not all..! I find tennis...table tennis..badminton easy to predict compared to other sports.

SOme sports like soccer are worse, as a possibility of  a draw happen is pretty high. Thats a huge edge for the sports betting sites.
858  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 13, 2014, 08:07:30 PM
The is a bearish divergence in 1h MACD, and 4h MACD is still negative, while its divergence may flip to red soon.
A triangle is going to break soon, but there is a bit of upward momentum, so I'm not sure. But the next 6h are locally critical. Grin

I am still expecting a >=10$ positive spike before any massive dump (short-stop-hunting, bulltrap, whatyacallit/ever).
Both 4h and 1d MACD are undecided in my opinion. The 1d S-RSI is heading up from ~0, 4h S-RSI is halfway down already during low volume/drop.

What massive dump? I don't think with the good news these days, there will be a dump soon.
859  Economy / Speculation / Re: Imagine the pop when Amazon finally relents... on: December 13, 2014, 08:06:50 PM
I don't know about you guys but I'm not expecting to see amazon pick up Bitcoin anytime soon...I have a feeling they could be one of the last to give in (only if they need to stay relevant)

I am sure they are aware that there are lots of people looking to buy amazon items with bitcoins. So in a way, it is better for them to actually start accepting.
I still wonder, what stops them from doing so.
860  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Does Microsoft Mean for Bitcoin Traders? on: December 13, 2014, 01:21:14 AM
None of these big names adding bitcoin is going to trigger a rally by itself. That's not the point. Right now it's about exposure. The more people know bitcoin exists the more will hop on when the rally does eventually start the bigger it will get.

Patience. I don't expect anything major until the next halving. Gox needs to be far enough in the past that people forget about it first.

I hope not to bother anyone, but is the second time I read someone saying " next halving"

what really mean?

It relates to mining of bitcoin. So everytime you mine, you find a block. Each block gives you 25 BTC. Once it is halved, the reward changes to 12.5 BTC. and this halving happens after years. It just means, that mining reward would be half now.
