841  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Effortlessly promoting Bitcoin, raising the curiosity of none bitcoin ethusiast on: January 09, 2024, 01:28:31 PM
In as much as it's good to encourage Bitcoin adoption, one should be more careful of what he or she spills out as a result of conversing about Bitcoin because we've heard of so many bad events that took place because of Bitcoin knowledge to the wrong people. Though Bitcoin from my perspective does not longer need too much advertisment because it has gain globe recognition already, even of one does not know about Bitcoin but at least most have heard of it one way or the other.

Our role is just to explain to the ones that are ready to know about Bitcoin, the real Bitcoin knowledge and differential Bitcoin from every misconceptions that has been built in their minds.
842  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will any other coins like Bitcoin be discovery in the future? on: January 09, 2024, 01:01:21 PM
The fact is bitcoin has already been discovered (invented) every other thing that's gonna look like it is not going to be an invention any more but a project that is meant to modify the features of Bitcoin.

There are over 10,000 coins that has been created, some claims that it's more than Bitcoin some even call themselves the new Bitcoin but most are failing already so it's not possible from perspective to have another discovery like Bitcoin but it's possible to have another invention that will not long be Bitcoin like rather an origin of its own.

The most supported coin is the Monero coin because of its privacy and that is what we preach, since monero is providing what we seek then it's the most prefer altcoin.
843  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: have anyone notice this $btcinu on: January 09, 2024, 12:32:22 PM
Haha. It's not just a scam project, but it's a very, very big scam.

I'm surprised nobody is concerned about the OP; this is his/her only post, no reply, no contribution, or further question—probably an advertisement for this shitcoin.

This project is just a one-man's project seeking to reap people's benefits when they finally invest or should I say a pump-and-dump group project. It has to have a well-known name attached to it in order to get attention. By combining Bitcoin and Shib's name as a market strategy, I don't blame anyone for developing such a project because people will still invest no matter how fake it seems.
844  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Blockchain Games Revolutionize the Gaming Industry? on: January 09, 2024, 11:49:47 AM
Blockchain games stand a chance of changing the game industry because they're probably blurring the gap between gaming and investment. which means one could just be having fun and at the same time making an investment that will have real-life value.

For XAI, it's perhaps been growing exponentially, and it seems to be a success among others because it has been listed on Binance, and I bet it's already making an impact.
845  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Seems it's alt season... Any suggestions..? on: January 09, 2024, 11:21:27 AM
I have never heard of these tokens; I don't know how you came about them, but they're probably not recommended by anyone. There are a few things that you need to consider before making a list of coins to invest in, but I suppose those rules were not considered before you chose these few.

Though it's your decision, and if you believe this meme coin can give you the expected return, who am I to say no to you?
So just do more research before you go further. And I suggest you go to coinmarketcap and look at the list of top coins (alts) and make a list from there. I bet it's safer than choosing random coins.
846  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens if all Bitcoin is lost? on: January 09, 2024, 12:01:04 AM
I don't know why people usually get worried about somethings that seems to be impossible or that might happen to a generation that we won't witness. There are so many things happening around bitcoin right now that you should probably be concerned about than an imagination that won't be implemented.

I have probably said this before ( Wake up from that dream mate) go get serious with other things.
847  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Two things I (we) noticed in the local board on: January 08, 2024, 11:43:19 PM
Hello, our Nigerian (Naija) local board!

Recently, I have been so concerned about this local board and the activities here. There are two important things that I (we) have noticed here on the local board and wish to make known to everyone in order to call our attention and hence reduce or probably put an end to such acts.

1. In the cost of posting or actively participating in the forum (local board), people (especially newbies and beginners) have recently increased the shit posts here, bringing in posts that belong to social media or issues that aren't related to the sole purpose of the forum or local board to discuss here.
I wouldn't quote anybody or mention anyone here because I don't want it to be construed from a different perspective or seen as personal attacks. It's good to participate in discussions in the forum, but that doesn't mean one should just publish any sort of thing here. Be mindful of what you wish to publish; let it be at least impactful and relate to the sole purpose of the forum.

2. This is not so concerning, but at least it's needed. For everyone of us here who is delighted to write in pidgin, we should write them well. I noticed some misconceptions in our local language (pidgin). Most of us here, while communicating with pidgin, tend to write in our social media communication language (shortcut) spelling. Although it's not bad, where I became concerned was that while I was reading some translations with pidgins, I saw those shortcuts written in there. For example: Mk Una 4 uses this example. So I thought of how to improve our pidgin writing, and there I discovered it's even harder to find pidgin translator apps, so it's mostly done manually. Well, for us to write our Nigerian pidgin very well, I suggest we (especially Naija local board translators) should go to the Jahoval Witness website (JW.ORG) and read most of their translations to become well acquainted with our Naija pidgin.

Note: I'm also part of the number 2. So we all should just keep trying our best to write in the proper way.

Contributions are open to everyone! Thanks
848  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this the kind of world you want to live in? [read] on: January 08, 2024, 06:34:07 PM
"In summary, what if Bitcoin goes against the intention of Satoshi?"

I suppose this is the nightmare of bitcoiners, that we all pray it never happens, and we keep trying our best to put more people in the crypto spaces into this knowledge never to support CEX or anything that has to do with aiding governments have control over Bitcoin.

We have been under the control of a few people who call themselves governments because of the monopoly of power they have (we gave them), and now we have the opportunity to be free from central control. We all have to do our best to make sure this opportunity never leaves our custody by supporting privacy with all we have.
849  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: What do you know about Nigeria (History) on: January 07, 2024, 07:07:09 PM
I probably know a little about Nigeria history but what you are talking about here isn't Nigerian history but current affairs (historical events) of Nigeria though they could make up a history for Nigeria but it isn't the history itself rather occasional activities that took place.
850  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the bull run begun ? on: January 07, 2024, 01:04:11 PM
I'm sure non of us here knows how the market will perform so I won't say because of the recent increase in price of Bitcoin automatically means we are in a complete bull run but we all should be prepared for both ways.

All people can do is predict or guess but non is really capable of knowing the out come of every thing. So we all just have to be mind full of what we do with our money in the Bitcoin market.
851  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Has anyone ever been able to get a Blockchair API Key recently? on: January 07, 2024, 12:17:53 PM
I guess your mail was probably marked as spam or it didn't meet the yandex requirements for honest mailing lists.. According yandex support, to resolve the problem, go to Yandex Mail and send a test email. This shows the system that messages are not being sent by a robot.

It could also be caused by some anti virus that might be installed in you system. Like; kaspersky virus remover tool or curelt or as RickDeckard said your service provider might be in the Russian block list.

You can read this https://yandex.com/support/mail/web/spam.html#troubleshooting__sending-limits to get more information because I'm limited in knowledge.

853  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Merit decay on: January 07, 2024, 10:23:42 AM
What exactly do your conscience tells you? No right? Yes it's not wise for someone to hoard his/her smerits till it gets to vanished. though I haven't heard of vanish merits so I guess active participants always use there spendable very well. As far as one is active seeing activities going daily he/she will surely be tempted to distribute their merits.
854  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As a newbie, be careful of the Bitcoin information you process on: January 07, 2024, 10:01:49 AM
Yes informations can be misleading or misconcepted, so that is why we are always advised to (DYOR) do your own research in order to comprehend the information that has been given my different people. If we relay on the information that has been given shared on BTT, it can lead to different cases, since everyone is not the same so our opinions about certain things are not same too.

For every beginner like me and you we should always do our own research before we accept informations.
855  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Politics and interest on: January 07, 2024, 02:43:09 AM
The truth is, the politics that is displayed to the public is very much different from the real issues. This people just let us think what we think while they are having a shadow party.

In the war between Israeli and Palestine the UN isn't neutral because they benefit from the wars that happens around the world. The world power and most countries produces weapons that good for wars and this is where there economy lays so in order for their business to grow the side with a country in order to sell their products to them hence increasing the war.
856  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How is an ordinary person's week going in your country? on: January 07, 2024, 02:23:14 AM
Well, I'm just a kid maybe an adult  Cool. So I don't work, life here is kind of different from each other's view. As a student, I wake up at 5 a.m. during school sections and just pick up my phone and check out what's happening around the world. Then I clear up everywhere in my apartment, take my bath, then go get some food and boom, I'm in class for at least 2 hours per lesson, and we have about 4 lessons a day. making it 8 hours in class, and after that, it is over for the day and that is the routine for 5 days in a week. Then, for weekends I just do whatever I wish to do as planned with my schedule.

All this I said is not really the deal, but just a clue to what the real deal is.
857  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Crime and the society on: January 07, 2024, 01:51:07 AM
I wouldn't criticize your point because I'm a socialist student, I conceive your point empathetically. to be honest, we humans made up the word  Crime it's basically deviant behaviors that has been set out by law or has attached some sanctions to it making it seems so strong whereas it could be a norm in so certain society (culture).

Like one of the social scientist Thomas hobbes said " In a society without law, life will be nasty, brutish and short. In as much as law is important crime too has its own value.  I know that point will be criticize but that's the truth. without crime there will be no law, crime is as important as law in the society.

From my perspective crime has both negative and positive impact in the society, only few people understands this.
858  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Carefulness of bitcoin transaction to avoid permanent loss. on: January 06, 2024, 10:09:30 PM
Then I still have another question on this advice. Has any effort been made to produce a software that could retrieve a lost bitcoin?

So shear you thought on this.
I don't really think it's possible to reverse any Bitcoin transaction. That is where this phrase comes in "Not your keys, Not your coin". If you have access to wallet there is absolutely no way to retrieve any coin in it.

In the aspect of software, I haven't heard or seen any software promising to reverse a sent transaction. Except for scammers promising to help you retrieve your lost bitcoin on payment in order to scam you.
859  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Using QR codes as Bitcoin address protection on: January 06, 2024, 08:09:14 PM
I'm aware of the above mentioned negative effect of this action or that it could be hacked and changed which is why i said this below.
Although there could be some negative effect of this action but at least it's a good ideal from my perspective.

In summary, it provides no extra security, introduces more complexity, and is worse privacy-wise.
I curious to know does this also have a negative effect on quick response codes generated by exchanges. I mean are the QR codes generated by exchanges safe for transactions? And how do they generate there own codes.
860  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does inactive users deserve merits? on: January 06, 2024, 07:42:01 PM
I know merits are rewards for good post as others have said but it's solely a personal decision, if you think you have smerits that you feel it's good to reward any post whether they are inactive or active accounts it's totally your decision.

But from perspective it's probably not wise to merit an account that has been inactive for decades as you said because they clearly do not need it. So why waste your sendables on those accounts while there are so many people out there trying their best with good post too that deserves merit.

Once again its your personal decision, you should do what you like.
