841  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoins price is rising again on: July 30, 2016, 09:13:09 AM
After minor fluctuations and gradual decrease, now the price seems to be moving forward. Better we can expect small increase often which may help bitcoin to reach $700 soon. If $700 is touched, it continues to be stable for some more time as it is now.

I don't think the forward direction has been established yet.
We could have a breakout in either direction. Which way is uncertain yet.
842  Economy / Speculation / Re: 626 $ what!?!? Halving incoming.. on: July 30, 2016, 09:10:52 AM
what!?!? Started pump&dump or started natural growth??

i think this is natural growth now as halving hapend week ago so now price should rise, slowly but it will rise to 850$ or even more, we will see in few weeks

I think so. The halving has already passed. We need to promote the bitcoin and attract more users.

Halving has ended now and it goods that we have a stable price. I think now its the right time to permote bitcoins. As more and more people will understand and use bitcoin, its demand will increase and therefore its value will also be increased.

Promoting bitcoins should be done always, irrespective of the price.
The underlying features of Bitcoin is what should attract people to it.
843  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people keep saying BTC is dead?! on: July 30, 2016, 09:09:28 AM
Bitcoin won't be dead until the trading volume hits $0 even then , there is a huge infrastructure build around bitcoin like companies, services, gambling sites.. As long as bitcoin is trading and people exchange goods and other monetary value there will always be a price and a trading volume for bitcoin.

The infrastructure built can actually adopt to using any alt.
If you look at it, the money spent on blockchain applications dwarfs the market cap of Bitcoin.
844  Economy / Economics / Re: Loans too risky? on: July 28, 2016, 12:32:42 AM
i think that loans are really too risky, if you want to make some money then you shouldnt do that because people might just steal your money and that would be it

I wouldnt do that also except for a friend that I can see personally and a real friend. I just cant trust anyone who I know just online or in some forums. Maybe someday but not now. It is really hard to risk.

Yup, even though you have an elaborate system of trust and feedback in bitcointalk, scams still happen.
The online world is definitely more risky.
845  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will this rise hold? on: July 28, 2016, 12:30:47 AM
Well, now I think the price of bitcoin last long at the price of $ 650 more, but if the price goes up to $ 700 +, bitcoin prices may be up and down quickly. This must happen if the bitcoin price rise above $ 700, it's because many people are targeting to sell their bitcoin bitcoin when prices exceed $ 700.

It could start going down from in the next couple of weeks. The smaller mining farms would have to sell more bitcoins because their profits were cut in half because of the halving. At the same time buying is not as strong lately.

The price has been on a marginal downward trend recently. Whether this accelerates or not, only time will tell. If the price drops a bit further, buying interest may pick up again.
846  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: July 28, 2016, 12:28:46 AM
Gold is very good for people who want stable income without risks, but i don't know anything about gold and how to work with it, so i am just using bitcoins.

Stable income? To get stable income from gold, you would have to sell it at regular intervals.
That is not easy. Gold is best suited for long term protection for your wealth.
847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: July 28, 2016, 12:26:34 AM
Australia will be looking for some early wickets heading into day 3 as they don't want to be chasing anything over 100 runs. Anything over a 100+ run lead to Sri Lanka will be tough to chase down on this turning pitch even with Australia's world class batsman. I think it will be a great finish to the game if Sri Lanka can get a good enough lead and I'll be biting my finger nails as I have Australia on to win the game.

Australia have a very helpful lead, but they must be feeling insecure due to the nature of the pitch.
Australia have played really well to get a lead on an unhelpful pitch in Sri Lanka. They should also be feeling happy at getting a Sri Lankan wicket just before close of play on Day 2.
848  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: July 21, 2016, 03:48:22 PM
First test match West Indies vs India has been get started, India won the toss and decided to bat first, West Indies on home ground has very big odds @12.5 so that I placed some amount on it just for fun, as I think easily can arbitrage into this match because West Indies has ability to give tough time to India.

Those odds are pretty good.
West Indies is a mercurial team and you can take a chance with them.
849  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price rise is over on: July 21, 2016, 03:44:30 PM
No one really knows when the price of bitcoin would move on its highest price. As of now the price of bitcoin stable on $650+ mark. And many of us surely waitning for the price increase  more on to those who hold large volume of bitcoin or anyone who make large investment of it.  It depends really on how much patience do we have.

I think the bitcoin price will fluctuate around the $666 level for a few more weeks at least. Then it could rise after.

We seem to be in a consolidation phase.
Boring to the traders, but heartening for long-term investors.
850  Economy / Economics / Re: Government & Bitcoin on: July 21, 2016, 03:42:05 PM
Bitcoin is decentralized, while governments want things to be centralized, that's why it's not something they would want to get involved with. Governments would have to have some kind of advantage, to start using bitcoin. Or, if the majority of people start using it, and therefore businesses and companies, then governments would also have to start using it. Governments might actually try to create their own version of bitcoin.

Why people stubbornly continue to repeat that mantra about Bitcoin being decentralized? It has long ceased to be...

that only proves that mining is being done by those who were willing to invest a lot of money into buying equipment and start a mining farm and have a cheap electricity.
but it doesn't change anything about bitcoin as an Decentralised financial system

decentralized in bitcoin means it has no central control, so if anybody like a developer or a mining farm decides one day that he wants to change something about bitcoin like block size he can't unless there is a consensus.

unlike a bank that can decide to take your money away from you and there is nothing you can do about it.

Decentralized is only happening when there is no pool with 51% or more hashrate than the others. So far it hasnt been however it is only a matter of time until those pools realize and starting to form some kind of alliance however one thing for sure, majority of miners are chinese or located in chinese

I really want to understand mining but damn it is really hard even I am reading it for quite a while still it is difficult for me. But I understand English.

So deisik is saying that there is no one controlling it and that is true right? So anyone, even if you are a big group of miners cannot do it

In fact, I'm saying quite the contrary (and have always been saying that, just in case). Less than a dozen mining pools already control over 90% of hashing power out there. I'm singularly curious how anyone understanding this can still claim that Bitcoin is decentralized? In respect to mining pools colluding, I guess it has already happened, since this is what invariably happens in oligopolistic markets...

It may well be that at least some of these pools are actually one entity in disguise (so as to to raise questions)
Miner can't control bitcoin because even tho they have fee for them when they are mining, it still not big as what whales do hold. The one who can control bitcoin are the people that hold most volume of it.

Whales might control the price, but what happens when there is a hard fork?
Miners might decide which version they want to run. This gives them power.
851  Economy / Economics / Re: The dream of getting rich with bitcoins on: July 21, 2016, 03:38:14 PM
Maybe not to get rich, but sure as hell to earn a decent amount of money with bitcoins.

How much money did you earn with bitcoins? Or did you lose some?
I think i never earn bitcoin in my wallet because this is my first sig campaign and i want to earn my salary  here until its gonna be 20 btc. Then i will invest it in bitcoin to got my earning increase. Bitcoin can value increase 1500$ in a year so i gonna earn all my bitcoin to wait that happen

If your dream is 20 btc and $1500/btc, you will have around 30,000$.
Not many people would consider that rich.
852  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: July 20, 2016, 01:29:04 PM
Pakistan has some plus advantages over England in bowling which played vital role in its victory in 1st test match. I think next test match will be drawn as England will come with some good strategy this time. West Indies vs India they both teams are equal and anything can be expected in their match.
No chances for draw in second test match between Pakistan vs England. My predictions over this series would be: England will be wining this series 3-1. Yes, we should not forget England is the Current Ashes champion and how they humiliated Australia in that series. My prediction is based on Pakistan's batting order too.

For West Indies vs India series, it is too hard to make a call. Still West Indies are favorite as India is always a weak when ever they play away from their home.

I wouldn't bet on England winning all the remaining matches.
We have seen what Pakistan are capable off.
853  Economy / Speculation / Re: End of the 2016 - BTC Price Prediction on: July 20, 2016, 01:24:26 PM
We are going to see 1000$ for Bitcoin by August and 1500 $ by the end of 2016. Once we break the resistance of 688 $ Bitcoin will shoot at 1000 $ quickly just need to look at the chart. We had expectation of huge rise which is at hold and anytime can breakout  this increase at sudden. Once we are above 1k $ next step will be 1.5k$ for end of this year.
The price is already struggling to reach $700, I think it can reach a maximum of $1000 by the end of 2016 that too is very hard, sure it will reach $800.

It did cross $700 before the halving, but seems to be under consolidation now.
We are in no hurry.
854  Economy / Economics / Re: What would happen if a major financial crisis hit entire world in a few months on: July 20, 2016, 01:15:37 PM
Some people has been predicting a financial global crash for a while, it's yet to be seen if it will happen. It seems like the FMI can keep the dollar alive like a zombie even after dying and it works since everyone in the planet accepts dollars, no matter how much hyperinflation there is.
Let's just hope the fucking thing crashes so we can benefit from it.

We need something like the 2008 crisis.
Bitcoin was born in the last crisis and will come of age in the next one.
855  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin to be international currency on: July 20, 2016, 01:06:11 PM
Bitcoin as a international currency because everybody who can make use of the internet can also make use of Bitcoin. So if you look at it that way it is a international currency. If you look it at it from the perspective that the majority does not use it then it is not considered a internationl currency.

You don't even need the internet. You can have off-chain transactions.
You can even have physical bitcoins.
856  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: July 17, 2016, 05:19:58 PM
Pakistan is back to the match. This match belong to bowlers and Pakistan has very talented bowlers. Which turned this match into its favor very quickly target was not high. England could chase this because in previous series against Sri Lanka but into this series playing very bad.

Pakistan won this match by 75 runs. It is fitting that Amir took the winning wicket. England will be under pressure in this series.
857  Economy / Economics / Re: What if US Dollar Crashes? on: July 17, 2016, 05:17:29 PM
when the time comes that USD would crash,it would affect all the economic state of each country since this currency is one of the major pairs in Forex. It would also affect the price of btc since USD dropped it's value.
Yes to us dollar is major currency. But apart from that there are pound, euro, Kuwaiti dinar, etc. So it will affect the world economy but it won't have much affect like decreasing other currencies value by too much plus value of btc will increase.

As the dollar collapse, people will flock to Bitcoin as a modern safe haven asset. Consequently, Bitcoin will see an eruption in purchasing power and global acceptance, quickly decreasing the value of other currencies and be at the top of currencies.

The dollar is quite strong. With the euro and the pound in some trouble the dollar is a safe have for forex traders.
If it comes under attack bitcoin may profit but there is no guarantee. Brexit did not boost bitcoins price for example.

Of course a potential dollar collapse could be disastrous for the global economy and relatively beneficial for altcoins, but I can't see any scenario where dollar crashes in the present century. We all have observed over the years several perfect storms with the power enough to beat the dollar, but it has not occurred, and perhaps it never will occur.

A century is a long time.... I would be surprised if the dollar retains its position for so long, given that it has lasted a few centuries. Rise of other countries like China could be one reason for the dollar's demise
858  Economy / Economics / Re: We must build a new exchange rate system on: July 17, 2016, 04:49:10 PM
We must build a new exchange rate system based on the quantity of money in existence. For example the bitcoin/U.S. dollar exchange rate should be: 1 bitcoin = 500.000 U.S. dollars because all the U.S. dollars in the world are 10.5 trillion. (10.5 trillion/21 million = 500.000).

What do you think about this idea?

That is a good idea. Would you like to exchange my 1 bitcoin with your $500,000? If you do not, your idea will not work.

Some altcoins can choose this method.

This is rich. So you create an alt today and expect its value to be equal to the monetary base of the US dollar? There is only one thing which determines the demand - supply and demand
859  Economy / Economics / Re: Does the next halving really matter that much? on: July 17, 2016, 02:46:20 AM
The last halving we just had a few days ago matters, the next halving matters, and the next two halvings matter, but after that it starts to get a bit too mundane and it doesn't start to really matter once the block rewards starts getting to the ~1.5 level, which will either completely jack up the value, or will result in us having to put in higher fees in order to pay for everything the miners have to maintain.

Fees are not directly linked to the block reward. If the value of bitcoins is high, then the decreased reward (in terms of bitcoin) won't matter to the miners. What is a more important determinant of transaction fees is the block size and related congestion.
Halving should make the price increase because every time halving happens it always increases the difficulty of mining and that would mean that the expenses of the miners also increases so they need to stay profitable for the healthy community.

Miners are important to us in order to fast tract our transactions online and to promote bitcoin in the majority of people where they can get good benefits.

Why should halving increase the difficulty? There is no direct correlation. If anything, if some miners shut down because of the lower block reward, the difficulty should decrease.
860  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save money. on: July 17, 2016, 02:42:11 AM
That's a good tips list. The best one I like is number 8 watching your savings grow, because that is how you can save more. If you have optimized your savings, it will only grow.

But no. 8 is not an advice nor a saving tips. It's a common thing yourself will automatically do once you achieved and properly do all your savings goals carefully.

That's the best part of saving the money, watching it fully grows. Smiley
Yeah i also think what for we watch we savings funds if you has know how much we have save in the banks at least with saving your money will not grow a lot.
I think if you save a lot of money in the bank you can see your deposit money will grow very nice but if you only have a little money I think the growth of your money will be lost or devoured by the bank administration fees every month. I almost forgot if Coinbase also has a system of interest?

I would even say you need really a lot,in my country you wont make a deposit to get some % more of every year,
if you wont have about 1-3 btc in fiat,so that is not fine for me to invest there, and the growth is very very slow.
A bank that has no annual interest? That's unfair for people that trust a certain bank. There should be an interest for people that give their money with banks because that is a form of saying "thank you, you trust us."

Each and every bank pays annual interest, but those interests are in peanuts, its better to save in fixed deposits from where you can earn higher rate of interests.
The interest rates offered by banks are not really that attractive, instead we should invest our money in other investment when we can earn good return.

Banks are just good for safe keeping of your moneyy as you have no risk since it is subject to insurance.

Keep in mind that you are in an era of negative interest rates. Banks can easily knock off a portion of your deposit as fees or negative interest. This has happened only to corporates until now, but it could happen to individuals also.
