841  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Titan Mint Coins- Serious Issue- ***NEW UPDATES*** on: February 02, 2023, 03:44:27 PM
So heres the latest. I did receive a text this am and he has followed up via email. I need to make sure its 100 percent legit before I fall for a scam.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out regarding your coins.  With the website currently down for rehabilitation, all coin redemption is being performed manually.

Manual coin redemption requires additional verification in order to ensure that we send a coin's BTC to the current rightful owner.  We appreciate your patience with this process, as it has been created to hopefully eliminate the possibility for fraudulent coin redemption.

The steps for manual redemption need to be followed in the order below for us to proceed:

Step 1. Provide Photo authentication that meets the following criteria
A.) The hologram side of the coin must be facing the camera.  Either the coin ID or the redemption code that is beneath the hologram must be legible.
B.) The hologram must be peeled, and the security pattern that appears when the hologram has been peeled must be visible in the photo.
C.) A photo ID of the current owner of the coin, with enough detail to verify name and address, must be visible in the photo.
D.) The current date must be handwritten on a piece of paper that is visible in the photo (i.e. "January 1, 2023").

You may include multiple coins in one photo as long as all the information requested above is clearly visible and legible.  Software is used to verify the photo's authenticity and identify any possible tampering.  Photos that have been edited, compressed, or are blurry or unclear in any way will not pass this verification.  We will notify you if additional photos are needed.

Step 2: Provide the BTC address and coin owner's residential address info
We will ask you to sign an agreement verifying that the redemption information is correct before making the transfer of BTC to your address.  This agreement will include the BTC address that your coin's value will be transferred to, as well as the residential address of the coin's current owner.  Please provide this information as text in a reply to this email.

Step 3: Reply to the email that was sent to the coin's registration address
We will send an email to the address that is on file for the coin's registration asking for authorization to redeem.  Please simply reply to that email with a confirmation that redemption is authorized.

Step 4: Sign the redemption agreement
We will fill in your bitcoin address and residential address and send you an agreement to sign which indicates that you agree to the terms of the manual coin redemption process.  As soon as that agreement is signed, your BTC can be transferred to your designated address.  This will be an e-signature unless you request to have a paper copy mailed to you.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this process, please reply to this email and we'll work to respond as quickly as possible.  Thank you again for your patience.

- Titan Bitcoin Security Team

That's just crazy regarding the fact they minted hundrets of 2fa coins, if I am not mistaken?
Why not just setup the web-service for the 2fa redemption again?

Seems to me, that this manual process is prone to result in scam attempts, besides the fact it's insanely slow and unprofessional.

Also, like mentioned by smoothie already, this could be an elaborate scam-attempt - so unless you are 100% sure you are dealing with Titan-mint (probably just Tim?) DO NOT send any sensitive information.
842  Economy / Economics / Re: [Article] How ChatGPT Will Destabilize White-Collar Work on: February 02, 2023, 03:36:24 PM
The problem is that we often confuse learning systems/neural networks with artificial intelligence. These are completely different concepts and systems. And the goals are different.
ChatGPT can hardly be called an artificial intelligence or a "matrix" Smiley In fact, it is a huge repository of information that can find the right answers among trillions of blocks of information and formulate answers similar to human speech. A sort of Google search engine is a wrapped human-like interface for issuing search results.
Yes, neural networks and other technologies work here to collect and systematize primary information. But this system has no INTELLIGENCE.
I hope you have already seen this masterpiece: "The neural network was asked to draw a salmon swimming against the current. Well, she drew it."

In ChatGPT, the picture is much better, but the intelligence never appeared there. Since one of the areas I do is IT (development), and like everyone else I saw how ChatGPT "produces ready-made ideal code." I tried to set a task for him, something from the area "Write code so that when you click something, something opens somewhere." The system began to ask clarifying questions so that the problem statement was extremely accurately described in order to understand which "code from the knowledge base to take." If there is no clear statement of the problem, you will not receive any code. More precisely, if there is a place where there can be variability and you need to figure out the essence of the process yourself, ChatGPT will not help you. Therefore, if we talk about "replacement" - perhaps he will replace some of the "pioneers" of developers, who are essentially "translators" from human to programming language, not difficult tasks. Although I agree that as the system learns and the knowledge base accumulates, the level of "replacement" may rise

That's one of the funniest things I've seen in a while.

I semi-agree on your statement about "intelligence" - it's just a complex term, and does not fully apply to what is considered intelligent in a human.
There are a lot of levels however, where it's already not possible to distinguish between an AI and a human creation - be that images or a text or any other sort of "creative" output.
With further adjustments / added filters and improved databases I think the gap towards something that feels identical to the interaction we would see from a human will become smaller and smaller and finally vanish. - Unless conscious efforts are made to preserve some sort of difference.

It doesn't matter that the way by which the output was reached has nothing to do with the way the "output" of a human works - If you cannot see the difference in the result anymore this will have massive impacts on human society. There's no way around it.

Thanks.

Good effort, Eclipse, and actually a cool idea to see how these will do.
Question about the cards (I didn't own any of these), the first 3 say buyer funded, so I guess unfunded, how about the "not beta" cards, are they supposed to be maker or buyer funded?
Tried checking firstbits, but nothing came up, so I guess not funded?

Sticker included  Wink

Tongue
Actually, displaying this amazing sticker on the coin-holder made laugh. Nice one. Cheesy

Quote
In the next five years, it is likely that AI will begin to reduce employment for college-educated workers. As the technology continues to advance, it will be able to perform tasks that were previously thought to require a high level of education and skill. This could lead to a displacement of workers in certain industries, as companies look to cut costs by automating processes. While it is difficult to predict the exact extent of this trend, it is clear that AI will have a significant impact on the job market for college-educated workers. It will be important for individuals to stay up to date on the latest developments in AI and to consider how their skills and expertise can be leveraged in a world where machines are increasingly able to perform many tasks.

I'm personally skeptical on the ability of machine learning/neural networks to fully replace humans. I think it's more likely that it will boost productivity by performing the more simple and routine tasks, but there will still be the need for human touch. People will lose jobs because now a professional will be able to do the work of 2 professionals, but AI won't do the work of all professionals.
Do you have a link to the article behind a paywall / need-to-register?

Regarding your statement: Sure, nobody would argue that a complete replacement of "white collar work" is imminent. But I would 100% agree that many jobs are indeed becoming obsolete over the next few years, because they can be managed by just one person with the help of A"I".
All things take time and some industries will take longer to change, but it will happen.
New opportunities will (already are) arising of this, including new job opportunities, but I kind of doubt it will be enough to replace the old ones.
853  Economy / Economics / Re: Rich Mindset vs Poor Mindset : 6 key differences on: January 27, 2023, 01:02:30 PM
There is a wide gap between the rich and the poor. They both have different mindset.

🗝️🗝️ The rich believe that money makes money. They see money as an opportunity but the poor people see it as something to be earned. 🗝️🗝️

🗝️🗝️ Rich people make money work for them. Instead of just working and relying on income, a rich person would take a proportion of their income and invest it but the poor people are said to work for money. A poor person sees $1000 as just $1000. A poor person works paycheque to paycheque for the rest of their life. They neither save nor invest any part of their income. 🗝️🗝️

🗝️🗝️ Rich people spend on necessities and what is needed not what is desired. A rich person with a perfectly functioning phone would not need to spend money on a new one. A truly rich person does not care about trends, they care about net worth. Poor people spend on both necessities and desires. A poor person spends beyond their means. They care about the latest trends, not about net worth. 🗝️🗝️

🗝️🗝️ Rich people think of a long-term goals but poor people set at best short-term goals or none. They do not see the necessity of long-term goals such as money for future living. 🗝️🗝️

🗝️🗝️ Rich people tend to be risk takers but poor person is more likely to be risk averse. For example, when given an opportunity to invest in a startup, poor people are more likely to immediately turn this down. They do not see this as a chance to increase wealth. They see this as a reduction of their disposable income. 🗝️🗝️

🗝️🗝️ Rich people are eager to learn but the poor people are not eager to learn. Most millionaires in the United States were not born millionaires, they learnt how to build wealth. The more they learn, the more they understand the world. 🗝️🗝️

Conclusion
👉👉Recognize where you stand and how you would like to move forward. Having a poor mindset may made your poor forever. The mindset you have will determine the level of your achievement.

👉👉Never get confused about your recent status. Confusion brings distracted and lack of focus. It never to late for a change in mindset. Work on yourself, think positively, be focus, have a dream and work towards your dream to achieve great success.
Very problematic. There are poor people that don't really stand a chance. Sure, if you got all the opportunities, education, health-care etc. in a stable western society, I'd say most of your points apply in some way.
However, if you never had access to a proper education, are struggling each day to survive, there will be no time, energy and resources left to use that amazing "rich-people-mindset".

So, I'd say be careful with these generalizations. Yes, you can find exceptions where people managed to come out of the most desperate situations, but it's just not fair to simply break it down to a "well, your loss, bad mindset is the reason you are not rich, bro" argument. Just saying.
If you got all the foundations covered, sure, it's a good thing to take responsibility for your life and take calculated risks, read books, listen to successful people but at the same time use your own brain instead of relying on some guru-advice and really think about how you want to spend your money and time. Then you got a chance to become one of the rich-folks.

855  Economy / Economics / Re: Is renting an inevitable waste of money? on: January 27, 2023, 12:45:25 PM
If you're young and haven't inherited a property from your ancestors, chances are that you're forced to rent. Personally, I've been renting for over 6 years and have been living with my girlfriend for the last 4, sharing rent and utilities. Overall, we've both spent over €25,000 together, and after spending all this money, you're practically left with nothing and may be subject to looking for a new house at any moment.

The average rent for a one-bedroom apartment is between €300 and €400 at best; thus, I was thinking that taking a loan is as costly as paying rent per month, but after 15-20 years, you end up with a house. My main concerns are the following: First, if you're in a long-term relationship like myself, you can never be 100% sure that you'll be with that person in 20 or 30 years from now, which might prevent you from opting for a loan. Secondly, you need to be certain that the location or city of the property to be bought is convenient for future job offers and so on. Thirdly, because a loan is a many-year commitment, there's no guarantee that you'll be able to afford the monthly payment 15 years from now.

On top of that, finding the ideal house as a renter is almost impossible; there's a lack of housing, and rents are extremely expensive and unreasonable at the same time. We had a difficult time finding a house recently, and it's far from ideal. There is now a new government-funded loan program that is about to start, funding up to 75% of the loan interest-free while the rest is funded by private banks and is subject to a relatively low interest rate. This led me to think about taking a loan and purchasing an average two-bedroom apartment, but I have the concerns that I voiced earlier.

The answer is of course not black and white. Both, renting and owning come with a lot of pros and cons.

Just a few things to consider, when renting:
- the money you would have to pay to your bank every month (which is usally more than rent) can now be used to invest in other things, such as Bitcoin
- you will be a slave to a bank-contract for 20 - 40 years unless you manage to achive quite some financial wealth in the meantime - which is more difficult now (see my first point)
- owning property comes with a lot of stress and time investment if you rent it out to someone else; in contrast to stock bonds or crypto assets mainting your property takes a lot of extra expenses and effort
- you are more flexible to move from a rented place without much liabilities compared to living in your own home

There are some nice benefits from owning property, too. But these are usually well-known and highlighted without the downsides, so I just gave you my idea on the latter.
856  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happens next if Bitcoin drops to zero? on: January 27, 2023, 12:38:42 PM
Please don't let my question cause so much hate on me but rather let's also be realistic at times.
Though I haven't invested a reasonable sum in Bitcoin, I've at some point after watching how the market and price of Bitcoin fell from over $60k to less than $12k something similar to what altcoins do and it prompted some questions like
1. Will Bitcoin ever fall to zero someday?
2. What happens if it ever falls to zero?

It will be if this questions are answered without sentiment as I'm open to learn.

The only way Bitcoin could truely go to 0 was in the event, that an exploit was found to create an infinite number of Bitcoin.
However, even if that were the case, a software update could still be implemented and a chain-rollback would be possible to a state prior to infinite amounts of BTC.

That being said, such a thing is close to impossible - The Bitcoin source code is probably one of the most reviewd open-source-codes of all time.
857  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My step to promote bitcoin on: January 27, 2023, 12:35:47 PM
I see how many people are trying to promote bitcoins in their own way, I am moved and decided that this year, I will play my part in the most little way possible even if I am still a new member here and to bitcoins.

It took me some time to be able to think of something that I could do that will not cost me too much money since I do not have so much of that, and also something that will not require me to talk to people directly because I can get shy.

I decided to get stickers that I intend to distribute among transporters to put in their vehicles and tricycles, and also to put them in places that people can easily see.

I will appreciate someone help preview the post so my stickers can be seen.

Nice effort. This reminds me to do something similar in my local area when I find the time.
Just a tiny detail, I think plural of Bitcoin is still Bitcoin without the s. Not sure if a real convention exists, but that's what sounds right to me.

I agree on some concerned messages though, that the stickers might arise the idea of a typical "fraud" attempt. Any kind of promise in regards of "financial independence / freedom" is always problematic. Maybe re-phrasing the whole thing with something along the lines of "Bitcoin: Time to learn about the possibilities of a decentralized, censorship-resistant store-of-value" would be more appropritate.
