#1 use the torrent [1]

for the rest of the way use fast nodes, e.g. the ones from the list below.

launch with bitcoin-qt -connect=IP

from terminal. A single IP. You will have a single connection, but since you can only sync with one anyway it does not matter. Launch regularly when done sycning.

Code:

Unless you talk about malware infected "personal" firewall. No.

And in the above case its not the firewall, but the malware.
8403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Windows qt gui wallet help on: November 18, 2014, 10:20:19 AM
I do not think that it is possible make wallet in Linux, which works also in Windows. The only way, which you can use is to install virtual machine in your Linux, then install Windows, and in Windows install wallet. Virtual machine soft you can find through Google search.

It is possible, the concept is well known and understood and called cross-compile [1]. You cant expect a dev to have every system available, not even as VM. I doubt however that there is anything special with cross-compiling core.

folgende Zeilen einsetzen:

Code:
# How many blocks to check at startup (default: 288, 0 = all)
checkblocks=24

reduziert die Startzeit deutlich. Gibt da auch noch die Option

Code:
# How thorough the block verification is (0-4, default: 3)
#checklevel=3

die nutz ich aber nicht. Je geringer der Wert desto weniger genau wird geprüft. Falls Du das auch nutzen willst, # entfernen und auf z.B. 1 stellen.

Ok that was a little confusing, just some I'm clear (I know I'm slow, sorry for that).  I own 1LKq3WNwc14WrABDTzHm2rVdF2gceMqZfP, the transaction that was fixed now has 3 confirmations.  Once it gets a few more the BTC will show in my wallet.  Then I can resend the "next" transaction?

Yes, you could also send resend the "next" TX now. The 3 confirmations will not go away.
8406  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: unconfirmed transaction what to do ? on: November 17, 2014, 11:16:47 AM
Dont make dust outputs.

One of the outputs is for 230 Satoshi [1].

Why would you even take 3 inputs and make 2 out of them on the same address in the first place?

Agreed, i use to host a very large SMF community forum for wood turning then when my brother the cyber security professional showed me how easy it was to hack on so many levels i just shut it down as i was not making any money from it and i didnt want anyone's info to get hacked.

This version is heavily modified to compensate for these issues. Theymos pays premium [1] for any flaws found.

You guys will in possession of the btc on the wallet. I'm the only one taking a risk here and clearly the people who didn't figure that out are not gonna be contacted cause they probably can't help me lol

Edit: The -salvagewallet command doesn't work so its gonna be more difficult than that.

Might have been wiser not to wave a reward around, plenty greed around.

Anyway, I think the next step would be to get pywallet running and see what it can do for you. Since I never had to recover a corrput wallet Id say you either try it yourself or contact someone of your likeing.

Thx , but why use bitcoin core in desktop because fee or they are the same in web wallet

If you use a desktop wallet you are in full control of your private keys. This way you dont have to rely on some service to keep your coins safe. This is just my view, there is no best wallet for everyone. For some an online service that keeps your keys safe is a better choice. Thats why there are so many different wallets, because someone in the past was not happy with the ones available and made a new one.

#1 make an extra backup
#2 use -salvagewallet [1]

8413  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is a gh/s? on: November 15, 2014, 03:25:13 PM

Just the hardware alone is overpriced. They cost 0.51 and >1$ per Gh. You can get that cheaper from cloudmining services.
8414  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ★☆ Get Help Here | The Ultimate Help Thread! | Free Giveaways ★☆ on: November 15, 2014, 03:22:47 PM
why bitcoin core is most popular and very  used than online wallet ?

I doubt it is. Where did you get that info? Its big and slow and even though I currently run 3 full nodes* and plan on running more I doubt the average user does the same.

* a full node is when you have a complete copy of the blockchain as you do with bitcoin core.
8415  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is a gh/s? on: November 15, 2014, 03:07:49 PM
I just started learning about mining so what does GH/S mean? Like someomne on ebay is selling a bitmain Antminer U2 (Set of 10) Bitcoin Miner + 10 port USB Hub and says it has an operating range of 1.6 to 2.2 GH/s. They are also overclockable to 2.3 to 2.4 GH/s, but not recommended. How many bitcoins is that?

h/s refers to hashes per second and a Gigahash/second refers to 109 Hashes per second. Similar to GHz it gives you an indication how fast the hardware is. This can not be directly converted to bitcoin.

What hardware would you recomend for me?

I dont know. Why would you want hardware in the first place? What makes you think that you need this ancient hardware?

Edit: 109 not 106 thanks: MZ [1]

SharedCoin.com simply takes to blockchain.info. So, I guess, it is not functional...

It is, it just requires you to have a bc.i wallet.
8418  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: help Download blockchain data on: November 15, 2014, 10:28:25 AM
Thanks but it cant be sync with blockchain account ??

Sorry, I dont know much about blockchain.info. I usually catch these misstakes when people talk about blockchain, but actually want to talk about blockchain.info.

Contact their support [1] if you have questions about that account.

If you want to switch to a proper wallet, like bitcoin core, electrum, multibit, etc., the best way to transfer your coins is to just make a transaction. This might cost you a bit in fees, but its the safest and easiest way. Just setup a local wallet of your likeing, make sure you understand how to create a backup, test if you could restore a backup and transfer your coins over.

8419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin be used for military usage? on: November 15, 2014, 10:23:14 AM
Hello,
I am wondering if Bitcoin can be used for military purposes and has military usage

Same as any other thing with value.

Are they even allowed to use Bitcoin?

There is no way for the network to stop a certain circle of people from using bitcoin.

I have read on the website
-snip-
Bitcoin can handle millions of dollars in trades without requiring military protection.
-snip-

Please confirm if Bitcoin can or cannot be used for military purposes and has military usage and if they are allowed to use Bitcoin.

Thank You

It can be used for any purpose that is somewhat related to transfering value this could include military expenses. Bitcoin requires no allowance, anyone can just use it.

What the quote is trying to tell you is that when you use bitcoin to transfer significant value you can do so on your own, without the need of physical protection in form of bodyguards or military forces. It also refers to the fact that bitcoin has value even though it is not backed up by any country and that countries military forces.
