The battle for LA tonight on TNT. Lakers vs Clippers. This is always a matchup I have circled on my calendar. With LeBron back and the addition of Drummond this should be a good game. I like Kawhi & PG13, but I think they’re overrated because of Kawhi’s legendary run in Toronto. They have to prove themselves in the post season this year. Enjoy the game!

tits Man no doubt, all US residents only care about tits because the girls are not pretty endowed at the back. I know this because I know things.

I just wanted to chime in and say that this is extremely off base. Besides being an ass man myself, it is practically American tradition to celebrate the female posterior. We invented the Daisy Dukes, twerking, and who could forget the Sir Mix-a-Lot classic Baby Got Back? I think a majority of American males transition from being a tits to an ass man around the time they lose their virginity...
8403  Economy / Reputation / Re: MoparMiningLLC Escrow in account sales? on: May 06, 2021, 05:43:14 AM
Is it normal for a reputable escrow to engage in transactions related to the sale of accounts?

I don’t believe so, but we all have our own perception of reputable. I consider it a form of fraud to sell accounts supposedly representing a single user and don’t know what the liability could be for assisting in fraudulent activity. I doubt any legal entities care though. It is probably more of an issue with being ok perpetuating account sales and spam on the forum and shows that person is fine participating in the burning of this place so long as they make a couple extra bucks.

I don’t think it’s something deserving negative feedback though. There are escrow agents and DT members who have been caught selling accounts and are in good standing. It’s just an example of someone’s motives. It’s important to understand people’s motives when working with them, so you aren’t caught off guard by their behavior.

Along those lines of thinking... What is your motivation behind starting this thread? Are you an alt account of the person effected or just a good samaritan that happened to be researching feedback left by escrows?
8404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - June 6 on: May 05, 2021, 11:01:31 PM
I think when they stand next to each other on fight night there are going to be a lot of people thinking Logan looks like a giant next to him.
Yeah, Logan is a big dude. However, he was a big dude compared to the Youtuber he last fought. I think I remember him having one nice uppercut, but was largely running away in that fight, and just popping off one jab to keep the distance, rather than putting combinations together. He could be a good fighter if he had that fighter spirit in him, I'm just not convinced he does. He seems to soft, and to worried about getting hit himself to actually pose a threat.

Floyd also knows how to deal with larger opponents, as he's done it for his whole career.

Logan finished 5th in the state in wrestling in high school (with a slight injury) and made a division 1 wrestling team in college. I know he’s got the fighter spirit in him and he very obviously has the physicality to cause problems. The only thing in the air (in my opinion) is whether he has the skills to touch Floyd. I sort of don’t think he does, but he’s been training hard and shit happens. I stand by my thought that Logan has a better chance than he’s being given, and will happily admit to being dead wrong if Logan gets his ass knocked out in the first round.
8405  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you trust the co-vid19 vaccine ? on: May 05, 2021, 07:05:59 PM
My beef isn't with the vaccine directly, but the system that would force this on people.  If you bend over for your shot now (not literally) then you'll likely have us all doing it for the rest of our lives in order to go outside.  I strongly believe it will weaken the human population as a whole.  Like a person who starts using chapstick and finds their lips are dry constantly without it, one day mankind will be dependent upon vaccines to survive if we continue down this path.

I also think it's pretty cool that the look of the forum hasn't changed--at least it hasn't since I've been a member, which has been over six years.  Did it look just like this in the very beginning?  I'm assuming so.  In any case, a lot of folks think bitcointalk is outdated, but does it really need a whole bunch of bells and whistles?  I think not.  The purpose of it is to facilitate discussion, and I think it does that just fine as it is.  It would be very weird to me to see the new forum software (whenever that's coming out, probably in the next century).

It did look the same, but there was no merit, feedback, or trust network.  I'm with you on the nostalgia of this forum.  I will be sad if this doesn't continue to live on.  I'd personally like to see this forum forked even if the 'old' forum was given some new url.  It would be great if this place could go back to before the drama and signature campaigns.  Maybe remove all the additions since satoshi left and get back to what made this place great (actual enforcement of rules by people who care) while all the signature spammers, merit whores, and trust nazis could be free to move to the new forum.

The only colorized coins I’ve ever done and I still love looking at them whenever I have them out to engrave.

I really do appreciate when people order these even though the colorized version takes some extra steps to engrave in order to protect the coloring.  It's worth it to get to appreciate the beauty of these colorized rounds while I'm doing so.  Between the colorization, vanity address generation, .9999 silver, & engraving, these coins would be difficult for anyone to create at this price point.  Don't sleep on them!

I’ve seen people installing splash pads in their yard as a cheaper and easier solution than a pool. I’ve been thinking this might be a good way to go as dogs and kids seem to love them and the maintenance is much easier than a pool. Something to consider.
8409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Doge Success Force Bitcoin to Improve on: May 04, 2021, 11:21:29 PM
I don’t think you could call DOGE a success yet, but it’s growing acceptance has been amazing to watch. I was against investing in DOGE, but now it looks like it may be this cycle’s Bitconnect. I was amazed Bitconnect lasted as long as it did and I would have thought DOGE’s peak would be when it hit $0.07. I feel like we’ve now been introduced to the catalyst that will crash this cycle’s bubble and whether we are watchers or participants, it may be wise to consider abandoning the boat with the rats when the time comes. Until then, dance away you wishful bastards.
8410  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MetaMask warns of new phishing bot on: May 04, 2021, 09:44:50 PM
there are tons of newbies that suddenly wants to try to invest in crypto
Newbie, suddenly and investing should not normally go together, regardless of the sector the person wishes to invest in. The first step should be to gain knowledge on how best to invest or safely store your funds. If one misses this step and jumps to throw money in so as to get quick returns, they are very likely to lose out in the long run or fall for cheap scams such as this.

Maybe what you say is true, but how else would you explain the sudden rise in DOGE? It’s quite clear that the market is being inundated with newbie funds chasing gains. I have a few people I know who jumped into DOGE “because it’s so cheap compared to other coins” not knowing it’s one of the most expensive cryptos out there. We’re well into a period of foolishness and people should be made aware they’re jumping into a shark tank.

This website seems to be similar to reddit except with an older UI. It's obviously more focused on the topic of bitcoin but I can easily find a group on reddit to talk about bitcoin.

I had originally thought this was a place for Bitcoin developers to come together to build on the Bitcoin blockchain.  Then I watched it evolve into a place where users could find crypto services and speak with the developers directly to give them ideas or receive guidance.  Now it's more of a what you make of it website.  Some people come here to spam for income, chat about BTC, find services, get help, trade goods, or just plain take out their aggression on strangers on the internet.  Basically, you can get whatever you want from this website, but with more clutter you may have to dig a little deeper to find what you're searching for.

As for reddit, I've never see any developers there building anything for BTC.  Maybe I'm not looking hard enough, but that seems like a place to just spread BTC news, not actively engage in using or developing BTC infrastructure with other members.

Lakers looking good without Lebron James, leading by 10 against the Nuggets. Anthony Davis is having the best game since he comes back from injury.

Not an impressive win though. The Lakers still needs to improve their ball rotation and plays. Lucky their bench was draining some threes from Gasol and Matthews, and a good winning block from AD at the end of the game.
They were up 10 down the stretch and the Nuggets was able to close the gap at 2.
So, again not an impressive win. I know there was no LeBron and so the Nuggets has no Murray as well.

Indeed. They should use Marc Gasol more. They are too inclined to use Drummond only but forgot Gasol can shoot outside which is a big threat for a center.
If they can open up space thru the rim then they could attack more using Davis.
They are lucky Dozier was injured and the Nuggets were having a difficult time finding their offense while Porter was also having a bad night.
It's a good start, perhaps they can now find some determination with this win against a team from the top.

Where is Kuzma? 31 minutes 6 points. This should be the time where he could shine most while Lebron is still resting. He had his minutes and was good against the Raptors. No consistency.

what we witnessed is another proof that Kuzma is inconsistent, I think he would not last with the Lakers, probably next season he will be traded if he will not improve his game. He can score 30 points at one night, and the next night he will struggle, that's not what the Lakers need now, they need someone who can provide for them as Lakers as a team is struggling.

All depends what they get back no sense in trading someone who is perfectly capable of ballin on any given night for trash back.  Dont know his contract situation but you need guys on the lower end of the cap to be able to field the stars they got.

I'd like to see them do some sort of sign and trade with the Pelicans to get Lonzo Ball back.  I think his play style matches well with LeBron, and I think if they had to do the trade for AD over again they would have tossed in Kuzma instead of Lonzo.

What trade do you guys think would work for Kuzma?  He has been praised by his coach lately for doing the little things, but he hasn't mastered how to fill up that stat sheet every night as others have pointed out.

I’ve seen videos of women’s competitions that are pretty brutal. Some of those ladies look more like models than fighters. It’s hard to imagine that anyone would subject themselves to this, or that they don’t go permanently deaf after a competition. You can deny it’s not entertaining though. I just hope they are well paid. Before learning where to bet on it, I’d wonder where you can even watch it live.
That is the very same thing that I was wondering, we know that this is the kind of game that people like to play when they're drunk and I find it incredibly funny that people do this in a kind of a professional way but when you think about it this is to be expected, however before I even consider to make a bet in any kind of event like this I would like to know where you can find a live stream that allows you to see those competitions because by the looks of it it seems that is something that is completely hilarious.

Indeed.  I repeat my curiosity.  Where can someone watch this sport live?  I haven't ever seen it on ESPN or ESPN2, or even ESPN8 "the ocho" so besides youtube videos I would have no idea how to watch how my bet is doing.  Not that I think there is some huge conspiracy and if I made a bet the outcome would be altered online or something.  I just don't see the point in gambling if you aren't getting extra excitement watching the event from it.

8415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - June 6 on: May 04, 2021, 07:38:16 AM
Lol, the odd is so bad. It is 1.04 currently for Floyd, so when you bet $100 you will only get $4.
I'd rather play slots Grin

10x for Logan Paul is not good either, considering how slim his chance of beating the champ. Should be 50x minimum! If Buster Douglas (pro fighter) can have 40x, the champ vs amateur boxer should have more.

I agree. 10x seems like not enough for Logan given he’s facing the champ, but I think he’s got a better chance than people are claiming. Look at how big dude is getting: https://youtu.be/aL1kBjvuUnY

I think when they stand next to each other on fight night there are going to be a lot of people thinking Logan looks like a giant next to him.

Nice website. I like the color scheme. The NFTs look better than the usual 8-bit NFTs I’m used to seeing. I’ve never owned an NFT so I signed up for the possibility of a freebie. I do wonder if NFTs would be better off in the digital goods section as I think this section could be quickly overwhelmed otherwise, but that’s just a thought. Good luck with the site and the NFT project.

Lakers looking good without Lebron James, leading by 10 against the Nuggets. Anthony Davis is having the best game since he comes back from injury.

I was only able to watch the 4th quarter but I thought they looked pretty bad. Some questionable calls helped them get the victory but I think their bench was the only bright spot in the game. With Jamal Murray out nursing an injury I think this win isn’t as great as it looks. Still, a W without LeBron is exactly what they needed and they got it.
8418  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: May 04, 2021, 02:56:59 AM

I'ved also read that article wherein Lebron James said that he is not 100 percent healthy at the moment and will never be 100 percent like when he is younger, that's understandable as father time is catching up on him. Even though he is not totally healthy but with him back on the floor gives the Lakers some confidence and moral going into the playoff as that is what every team needs right now.
He tweeted today asking fellow twitter users for the most comfortable gaming chair. I think he is planing to sit out a few games now since he aggravated his injury playing against the Raptors. There is a good chance that AD sits out as well due to elbow injury. Which means the Nuggets should have an easy time to beat an injury stricken Lakers team.

That would be a disaster for the Lakers if Lebron will sit, Nuggets as one of the hottest teams now would easily dominate them and Jokic is just unstoppable now together with the role players that anytime read to contribute. The Lakers' chance to win here is if Lebron will be playing, it's okay if Davis will not play as they still have Drummond, maybe as a bettor, it's wise to just bet this game live so we would know if Lebron will play.
Its confirmed that LeBron James will miss Monday's game against the Denver Nuggets due to a sore right ankle.
Also his game against Clippers is still uncertain. So forget it this match will be not an easy sight.
Nuggets are in a great form while Lakers have been struggling without James and the struggle continues tonight.
The odds for Nuggets win are @ 1.55 and going down better to bet now because it many will follow and bet on them to win.

Oh not good news for Lakers fan, but I think it's a good decision though. Those past 2 games Lebron has been playing, it seems that he has push his body just coming back from an injury.

But hey, if San Antonio without 4 of their starters against the Sixers last night played very well and almost got a win in OT, why not Lakers against the Nuggets.  Grin

I think it looks like they’re saving him for games they think they can win to give him extra recovery time. Jokic and the Nuggets have been looking great lately and if I were making a guess I would say that has more to do with LeBron being out than his ankle sprain. It gives AD a chance to be the focus and get his game back into swing, so maybe it’s a blessing in disguise. Hope to see Bron back to near full health for the play-in. It looks like that’s where we’re headed.
8419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - June 6 on: May 04, 2021, 02:52:06 AM
^^ Logan Paul s not a boxer even though he is fighting Floyd Mayweather that is the main difference here, do not just say something like you claim even for fun, one is a professional fighter who retired as an undefeated one and can be considered as one of the best boxers in the history of the sport.
The legacy of Logan Paul is to create Youtue videos   Tongue.

Lol, Logan Paul is just pure Youtube sensation, that's where he makes his money.

Floyd is a pro, never been touch or beaten in his career. But I think he needs to train, he is all serious in his craft, he doesn't want someone, specially a non boxer to get that 0 from him.

Height and weight difference? Not a problem for Floyd, he knows what to do here, maybe toy with Logan Paul early, after all this is an exhibition fight. But that's the closest Logan Paul can go with Floyd. In any case, easy money for both of them.  Smiley

What about the age difference? Floyd is old as hell. At some point (maybe when he’s in hospice) even the average forum user here will be able to kick his ass. I’m with you that 10 years ago this fight would be a total joke (even if Logan stayed his age), but Floyd isn’t getting any younger. He’s got size, age, and probably training intensity stacked against him. At some point his skills won’t be enough to overcome everything he’s going up against.
8420  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Sidechains on: May 03, 2021, 07:45:15 PM
I don't think Bitcoin has its own sidechain except from its one and only blockchain because other than that you have different sources in which Bitcoin is transacted like Lightning Network for example is run as off-chain transactions that is why it is not recorded in the blockchain. If we are talking about hardfork coins comming from Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash has its own blockchain. Bitcoin in the first place doesn't really have any tokens unlike Ethereum so you wouldn't really expect them to have sidechains of their own.
You are confusing 3 different concepts with each other: Second layer, Side chains, Tokens
1. Second layer
Second layer is a different network that is built on top of the main network and relies completely on it. For example if mainnet fails the second layer will fail also.
Example: Lightning Network

2. Side chain
Similar to second layer, side chains are also a different network but they are usually only pegged to main network not built on top of it an they don't rely on main net for security, etc. For example if mainnet fails the side chain can still keep going.
This is also why 1 LN bitcoin is 1 bitcoin but 1 sidechain bitcoin doesn't have to be 1 bitcoin. For example 1 bitcoin turns into X RSK, or 1 bitcoin could turn into 1000 wrapped bitcoin on another chain.
Example: Rootstock, all the wrapped bitcoin tokens, Blockstream's Liquid,...

Another difference between 1 and 2 is the trust. In second layer the trust is minimal while it is not true about second layer specially in case of centralized ones. Sometimes they even involve other signers (eg. liquid) so you rely on those parties too.

3. Tokens
Tokens are inside the same blockchain instead of being in another network. For example tokens built in ethereum platform are all in ethereum network not in a different one.

Nice definitions.  I'm curious if you would consider a merge mined coin like Namecoin to be a side chain, or if you would just consider it a separate merged mining chain category?  I'm also curious about the reasons why merge mined coins seemed to never reach the popularity of side chains as described above and certainly not the valuation.
