This is what you get when stupid politicians try to enforce an uneconomic minimum wage - unemployment.

Is there a war over holly? I thought it was a Christmas decoration. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Just as an aside. I back up the blockchain as well as my wallet. I don't want to have to download the blockchain again if I have a hardware problem.

Don't forget that SegWit will add some extra files.

Isn't POS already available with some sidechains?

Just ask them if they understand the differences between cash, virtual bank deposits and credit card balances. If they don't, then point out that they aren't in a position to comment on Bitcoin.

The real problem is our association with the US. The US seems to be intent on forcing regime changes and destabilising Europe and Asia. They created ISIS by removing Gaddafi, and if Assad goes the situation will get much worse. You must remember that the US hasn't won a war since their civil war, and half of them lost that. Right now, it looks as if the UK would be safer if it built ties with China and Russia, and distanced itself from the US. We don't want TTIP for example. As one person put it - Russia committed an act of belligerance by placing its country so close to American military bases. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Obviously it's time the UK stopped using American software. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Well there are some other topics - BRexit, the US elections, and there is a bit of stress in the middle east.

How did it get to a point where he raped 200 children? That's a lot.
Well you know the British, they are highly efficient at some things. The media reports that it's a migrant thing.

It won't become too large. People who don't want to store the complete blockchain can use pruned node, or leave out the signature section when segwit arrives. Even if you want to storethe whole chain, it is likely that storage capacity increases will outpace the growth of the blockchain. Don't believe all the doom forecasters who don't understand the situation.

Can someone explain to me why on earth a small chunk of BTC would take 7 hours for confirmations? I've never seen one take even 2 hours let alone 7... And it was for a small chunk, very small chunk, like .00007 BTC. Just frustrating AF, but I'm curious to know if there's a certain reason why this would happen? Thanks
Usually a transaction like that would arrive fast. But because the 1 mb block size limit we have a lot of delays in transactions at busy days. I am not sure about the exact time of the transaction but on 27th May the bitcoin network was very overloaded. The mempool was 15 mb, it means that 15 blocks needed to process all of the transactions in the mempool. You can check it here: http://bitcointicker.co/networkstats/You can't blame it solely on blocksize. Throughput is based on vehicle size times the number of vehicles per hour. Increasing the number of vehicles provides a far better solution that creating lumbering giants.

They're only too long if you think every coffee purchase or micropayment must be on the blockchain to be broadcasted to every single node.
If you are buying Bitcoin for cash, then you don't want to stand around for 30 minutes or more before you feel confident that it is safe to hand over several hundred pounds.

I have been drawn to Startcoin by the free Raspberry Pi offer. I don't need a free one, I'm quite happy to buy, but I see the offer as continued promotion of startcoin. I'm considering it as an alternative coin for investment. What is the current opinion of startcoin and the startjoin project?
