How is it that anyone is still seriously considering anything offered by Havelock?

...

Good luck and...

   ~Happy Investing!
You have to free your mind of prejudice and read the offering again.  This one is designed to have the shares approach zero as the BE200 ASICs reach the end of their useful life wrt maintenance costs.  It is not a standard IPO.

I am Chinese user ,forum should request, the following text use Baidu translation:

Glad to see also AMhash contract in the domestic forum, but most of the customers have doubts about compulsory repurchase, we want to know what is your starting point to make such a statement?

Doubts are as follows:

In the calculation of force began to take effect within 45 days of the company's right to roast the cat (the sale price - pay income) 120% buy back price of all stress, repurchase notification shall be 3 days in advance notice.
This TM is too pit, if the money up, grilled cat repurchase is force; if the currency price, roast cat let user shall bear the losses, is that what you mean?

Web site: http://www.cybtc.com/article-1443-1.html

This is a good question.  I think this is a standard buy-back clause which would allow them to buy back the shares should the need arise.  Imagine that there might be an unscrupulous person in the Bitcoin world (I know this is hard to imagine... please play along) who would buy up all the shares and rebrand the operation in order to expand their own enterprise.  Maybe Sam Cole needs to add some inexpensive hashing power to one of his many Datorhalls, or maybe Sonny Vleisides and Josh Zerlan are looking to bring some innovation to BFL (lord knows they could use some inexpensive innovation right about now), or maybe Creativex aka Eric Corlew is looking to make a come-back with bASIC-mining so he can repay his shareholders (hey, we can dream)...  Anyway,  AMHash could then buy back the shares and regain control of their own operation.  I realize these are rather extreme examples but as you can see, it protects AMHash as well as the shareholders.  These are bargain basement prices for hashing power and maintenance fees.  I would not be surprised at all if someone would try to exploit this offering in such a way but I do not believe that the clause is there to take advantage of AMHash shareholders.

8543  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: October 27, 2014, 08:56:46 PM

I think it would been a far more successful IPO launch to offer a tremoundous price per hash for the IPO, which would then attract investors and stimulate the buying and selling on havelock after the IPO. The way it is priced now, although a decent and fair price, you can only really imagine the price going down and that's even if the IPO gets filled at all.

So, a loss leader? I would worry about expectation-setting for AMHash2, if that contract will be structured like AMHash1.

You people are looking at this way too deeply.  You get a miner without paying the shipping AND you run 1 TH for a buck sixty three per day without the need of buying a power supply!  The div per share is the same as the theoretical reward you would make from a 1 GH miner per second.  Really this is like a gift from AM Wink

Thanks!  Google translate first told me the page was in English and then when I tried to cut and paste it thought the text was Haitian Creole.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy <- lol

1. 合约将从10.31日开始正式生效,也就是正式开始分红,如果31号之前可以IPO够1P,则在IPO够1P后直接开始分红;
2.这里的维护费是包括所有一切费用的,电费,管理人员的费用,租金,其他硬件等等;

Come on guys, English?  This is the main board.

I agree with OP.
Bitcoin is Money and Money is made to be spent.

While I don't disagree with your position, there are many people in North America who save for their retirement years as well.  Ultimately they could spend the money but it is used in 401Ks and RRPSs to both defer taxation and serve as a retirement income.  I'm not sure bitcoin can be used to defer taxes at this time in RRSPs and 401k(s).  Money and bitcoin are not synonymous yet.

i took the liberty to update the design of my sig.
i thought dark blue would be nice considering the prisma's PCB.
+ i've alined the "shipping" line, which bothered me somehow ^^

tell me if that is ok, here is the code:

cool code removed for brevity

i take silence as consent.

Going once, going twice... SOLD! to the man in the bluish logo.  Nice design by the way Wink
Where'd you get the AMHash logo??

FYI
I have just made a complete copy of the whole KNC Forum! I will keep it updated day by day.
Since they no longer need nor want consumers any more, it makes sense that they'll take down their forum like cointerra.

"Suppose we find out that Monopoly Mining Inc. is evil... then what?" lol

Seriously, where have you been hiding?  They ARE!
8549  Economy / Securities / Re: AMHash1: Cost-Effective Mining Contract on: October 25, 2014, 03:22:41 PM
They probably could, but it would take a little while to see the BTC from hashing.
I imagine they're giving up some of that return to have the BTC now.

5PH mining = 70 coins per day.
5000000 shares at 0.00125 = 6250 coins
or 90 days

No.  They are simply trying to unload the chips while they still have value.
8550  Economy / Securities / Re: AMHash1: Cost-Effective Mining Contract on: October 25, 2014, 03:18:41 PM

AM isn't able to mine with profit and pay div, why can AMHash1 ?

AM publicly changed their business model a few months ago.  They were to concentrate on chip sales only.  Due to some disappointing chip results and unforeseen delays, this model did not work out. AM has adapted its plan (more than once) since that time.  Apparently they are not willing to commit the considerable time, effort and expense required in order to self-mine hence they now have partners.
8551  Economy / Securities / Re: AMHash1: Cost-Effective Mining Contract on: October 25, 2014, 03:33:21 AM
The fee is 1.89*10^(-8) USD per unit per second. It will be substracted from the pre-fee payout rate. The exchange rate is based on bitstamp 24h average.

In other words, $0.00163 per GH per day.

-Sahra

Technically, some of those "other words" you speak of are numbers, some are symbols and others are abbreviations but thanks for doing the math for us.  Some of us really suck at comprehension, especially after night shifts Wink

Now is that per earth day?  Awww never miner; I already bought my shares  Cool
8552  Economy / Securities / Re: AMHash1: Cost-Effective Mining Contract on: October 25, 2014, 03:17:26 AM

3. Guaranteed profit; Compared to others, AMHash1 Fund will pay you dividends based on hashrate equivalent calculation protecting your earnings and shielding you from hardware maintenance cost and risk.

Wondering this too..  what is "hashrate equivalent calculation"  ??

The "hashrate equivalent calculation" is

25 / (difficulty * 4.295) BTC per unit per second

Rather than paying you a percentage of the farm's take based on the number of shares you own.

damn, so apparently, FC (and boardmembers) prolonged absence could partly be explained by the fact that china has indeed restricted access to bitcointalk:

bitcointalk has been totally blocked by china interenet so i cannot login very often

are there anymore chinese people in here Huh

"Are there any people in here from mainland China" would be more appropriate.
8555  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 23, 2014, 12:15:07 PM
Yeah, I don't remember them describing the Titan as needing to be limited to mining on an approved range of pools in order function properly, either.

They seemed to have omitted that from the sales description while they were taking everybody's money earlier in the year.

KNC has done much to cover their tracks.....I know understand why Bitcoinrama probably quit and probably signed a NDA....

20/20 hindsight is a bitch

but on the other hand....they went from champ to chump awful fast...hard to guard against something like this when it is

a complete turn around and abandonment of customers

the key is here however ..they 'don't need us as customers' ..they likely realized this sometime last March when they decided

to go all out with their data halls ...from the frankenjupiter on we as customers were just 'used' to further their data hall projects

quite the 180 in my view

but hey what is the downside to the guys who made KNC ...more money and a few pissed off customers....its all good from their point of view

The downside is living with the guilt and shame of having wronged so many others.  All the players weren't bad in the beginning but were corrupted by others with bad intentions and living with shame has grave implications.  Money isn't the be-all and end-all; it can't repair the damage to your soul.  There is actually no point to their greed - they have simply created a race for themselves to capture more of the bitcoin network.  Seeking power and perfection is actually a manifestation of the feelings of shame - they are trying to compensate for their shame by preventing future shame.  Ultimately they will fail.

Speaking of refunds, I just added a new topic to my website -> kncnews.org/refunds

That's a great site you've made!  It would be nice if you could note somewhere that there are still waiting for promised refunds on cancelled Neptune orders.  Here's what they wrote in August:

Quote from: kncminerwebsite
Markup If We're Late

Blah blah blah.... self-congratulatory crap, some boasting,  a few excuses and some lies

...However, we want satisfied customers and there is one area where we need to beef up our output: Neptune refund requests. Most refunds have already been taken care of but there is still a queue to work through. So we would like to share with you our compensation plan and you’ll see that we’ll penalize ourselves the longer a refund takes.

5-10 % Markup On Neptune Refunds

If your refund has not been sent before the start of September you will receive a 5% markup (i.e. if your requested refund order stands at 10.000 USD we will refund you 10.500 USD).

If your refund has not been sent before the end of October you will receive 10% markup (i.e. if your requested refund order stands at 10.000 USD we will refund you 11.000 USD).

These markups will be added automatically to your refund amount, no matter which method of refund you have chosen.

We sincerely hope this line of action reassures customers waiting for a refund that we’re in this for the long haul.

Best,

The Knc Team, August 18, 2014, Stockholm.

What a load of shit.  "We need to beef up our output but meh, fuk u, we aren't going to.  Instead we promise you more money until our time runs out at which point we will promise you something else or maybe offer you three Titans that were returned for RMA but we didn't bother fixing because again - fuk u you unnecessary customer.  We don't need no stinkin' customers, we simply need your money!  Afterall, we're in this for the long haul.

Excerpt from a recent Sam Cole Interview:

Quote
“When we don’t have these customers buy our hardware it becomes a different business model. It becomes much easier, much more open, much more honest,” Cole said in a phone interview. “There’s still going to be $2 billion, at today’s price, mined in the next few years. That’s a lot of cash that’s up for grabs, and we’re going to do our best to take a decent chunk of it.”

Also says:
Quote
After bitcoin’s price collapsed from a high of more than $1,000 to lows of around $300 earlier this month, customers once eager to mine the digital currency have started to ask for their money back, according to KnC co-founder Sam Cole. Yet the pullback by individuals who had hoped to grow rich in their garages belies the potential for companies that have built up the scale to stick the course, he said.

So the Asscole is saying that he wants to go straight and be more honest, while at the same time saying that the problem is customers greed - trying to get rich quick in their basement.

Rather than the REAL problem which is knc failed to deliver what they promised - in hashing power (titan), in quality/safety(titan) and delivery schedule (neptune+titan), customer incentives (bonus rigs, neptune and titan). What a scammy cunt of a (sub)human being Asscole is.

Don't forget the refunds!  Many of us are still waiting for them to refund our money on cancelled Neptune orders.  Anyone still waiting should seriously think about giving "kncminer" some negative trust.  I know there are many other reasons to deal out negative trust and it is never too late - even if you think they wont be back here.
8558  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Block Erupter Prisma (>=1.4 T/device, 0.75-0.78 W/G, <1 BTC/T, October Shipping) on: October 22, 2014, 05:52:50 PM
I got my tracking number from Crazy guy for Batch 1, and there is movement. Crazyguy has a good reputation, and if he says they shipped they did.

It is not safe to post tracking numbers, since people could re-route your order. I also ordered the controller, but not realize it may not come with the power supply, so trying to figure that out now. Maybe I can hook to my EVGA 1300 to a barrel connector. Not sure if I need to worry about the USB adapter, since I will use a controller and not the RPi at first.

I use an adapter from an Orico USB3 powered hub for my controllers.  It works fine.
8559  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 22, 2014, 01:36:17 AM
...and through all of this, kncminer hasn't received any negative trust?
8560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 22, 2014, 01:23:13 AM
So basically they are openly telling you that not only are they not going to sell you hardware anymore, which as miners YOU are responsible for financing their start, they are going to take all that momentum (cash) and use it to crush you like the insignificant fucking bug that you are and they will barely notice as they wipe you off the bottom of their shoe.

If somebody found those hangers and drove them back to the 12th century who could blame them?

I wouldn't

Me neither but please wait until I get my Neptune refund.  Aw f-it! Just grab a handful of doubloons for me while you're pillaging.  Actually is it considered pillaging if you're taking back what's rightfully yours?
