8581  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEED ADVICE] Comparing between STO & ICO on: February 03, 2019, 09:58:16 AM
I'm aware there are many new security token projects nowdays. As far as i know, security tokens are hard to get listed on exchange because of regulation of some countries. Big exchanges would rather not to list security token than getting banned from some countries.

Blocktrade or Dx.Exchange is already operating. Blocktrade has MiFid II license which allows them to trade tokenized securities. CHX (WeOwn) will also go live this Q1 which will make tokenizing shares/securities quite simpler so that exchanging STO would become much easier. I'm sure those big exchanges will pursue the license if they want to stay in the game.

STO is not that good. There are only few projects that can fully operate and make profit. It means only few projects are worth it to put your money as company share (security tokens) and get dividend. It also means that capital gain is overall better than dividend payment.

You're looking it the wrong way. Compared to most ICOs, STO is way better because it guarantees investor that they can have profits/dividends. I believe most investors will be happy for that even though the number of STO is small because in the end they only care about profit.

By the way, what is disadvantage of KYC for bounty hunter? Did they have posibility use our data for bad thing?

Of course, it's possible. How can you make sure that your data is not sold in the black market? KYC is a double-edged sword.

How about project who have starting ICO in exchange platform? Such as LATOKEN.. Did they have more succeed percentage comparing with regular ICO?

No, where you do your token sales doesn't have any guarantee that your project will be successful (in terms of price too). Even if it can pump the price, it won't last long.
8582  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [02/02/2019] Why Pantera Capital Thinks This Bitcoin Bear Market is Different on: February 03, 2019, 05:42:23 AM
I agree with him when he says 2014/15 really felt like it was still possible it would dwindle to nothing. Regardless of how much of a grind is ahead I think that possibility has passed.

When he says the fundamental is better, I kind of agree as it seems more institutions like Fidelity are willing to open up a Bitcoin services. More countries have started to regulate ICOs too which is a good sign that this unregulated market has at least being recognized by the government.

Still, I wonder how long will this bear market last, it's been 411 days at least. On the other hand, it provides a good opportunity to buy some germ while it's still cheap.
8583  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Unofficial Quadriga Cx Thread on: February 03, 2019, 04:58:33 AM
Interesting Tweet from Kraken's CEO:

Cryptomeds also said that he have collected txs, wallets and other related information that could be used to find the Quadriga cold/hot wallet address. He also mentions Quadriga connection with Cryptocapital, which also has a connection to Bitfinex (no surprise), CEX.io, and so on. If anybody want to read about Cryptocapital, here's a good start[1].

8584  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Can a new crypto exchange take a place in the market? on: February 03, 2019, 04:35:12 AM
What is the target market for the exchange? If it aims to provide services to a specific country which doesn't have any major exchange yet, then the probability of it to succeed and become a major player will be very high. I think it will become like Coins.ph or Indodax. But if it aims to compete with Binance or others exchange it will be very difficult to do.
8585  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Worried about quality posting, this may help on: February 03, 2019, 04:13:01 AM
Taking your mind off merits would ironically help you receive them

This kind of mindset might help you to stop being disappointed when your post doesn't get any merit, but I'm not sure whether that will help you to get merits or not. If you really want to get merit then focus on your post quality, increase it and then merit will comes. Just because you set your mindset as "I'm not looking for merit", you won't automatically get any merits too.

8586  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Linux Update issue with #egg=electrum[fast] on: February 03, 2019, 03:42:13 AM
I face the same error, and before the "requirements message already satisfied" it seems that python got an issue with the .cache/pip directory. So my best guess is that python can't execute the cache directory but shows that the requirements to install the package are already there.

A workaround is to delete the .cache/pip directory, make a new one and make sure that your user account has the correct permission to write/read.
8587  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This guy says crypto ruined his life but he spent it on a high risk lifestyle on: February 03, 2019, 03:15:31 AM
I'm not surprised if the story is true (a lie is still a possibility), a lot of people went berserk when they have a lot of money which they 'created' out of nowhere.  Quite ironic how he invested in relatively a mid-term period and then all of it gone quickly. It reminds me of another story, where somebody got $1 million and then gambles it to invest more and buying a lot of expensive things. Maybe the golden message from this story is that we should invest and cash out some (save it) proportionally to ensure we got our profits and we don't miss the next train.

Best of luck to everybody out there who already make more than $1 million from crypto, make sure you use it wisely.
8588  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I Need Two Crypto Writer Partners on: February 02, 2019, 01:06:32 PM
You might want to contact ICOEthics. He's doing a very good job at writing and finding a scam ICO projects. I'm not sure if he's interested in joining your team but you should definitely check him out. He has a good reputation too, most of his time is spent on Scam Accusations board.
8589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How do you change a large amount of coins without registering? on: February 02, 2019, 12:41:29 PM
trading in the forum is riskier.

It depends on how you do it. If you use a reputable escrow, then the chance you got scammed will be much lower than if you use anonymous instant exchange without any reputation. In fact, I tend to believe that trading or exchanging coins in this forum with escrow + multisig is much safer than using services like Changelly. I'd suggest OP to read further about it and of course, compare it with other available options.
8590  Local / Altcoins (Bahasa Indonesia) / Re: [Q&A][TIPS] Seputar Bounty/Airdrop Di Sini on: February 02, 2019, 12:28:53 PM
Sepertinya menarik daripada sendiri-sendiri bikin konten, kalau mau bikin platform publikasi lalu disatukan biar platformnya jadi tebal, banyak traffic, dapat iklan juga.

Jadi deh Hackernoon ID

8591  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: 2 weird happening now in ELECTRUM WALLET. (calling all devs from electrum) on: February 02, 2019, 12:03:42 PM
Try not to use the wallet file that the Fake Electrum has generated.
Instead, restore it to the Original version via SEED. You may also needed to scan the whole computer for possible malware installed by the fake version if there's any.

If I understand it correctly, OP already did delete the old wallet and start from the beginning but when he tried to make a transaction the error comes out because he's connected to a bad server. So here's what happens: he used an old version of Electrum which connected to a bad server and failed to make a transaction. After that, he downloaded a new Electrum (the legit one) and tried to use it but it fails again because he's still connected to a bad server.
8592  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: can I safely send BTC from SegWit to legacy wallet? on: February 02, 2019, 11:42:18 AM
One possible inconvenience is that if you use a native SegWit address, you have to either send it first into nested SegWit or legacy address before sending your BTC to an exchange (might change in the future when more exchanges support native SegWit address). Other than that, I don't think there's any other problem.
8593  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Kraken, Coinbase pro, Binance, dan bitmex 4 teratas dari top 100 Crypto Exchange on: February 02, 2019, 05:52:25 AM

8594  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a reason why almost all cryptocharts have this special look? on: February 02, 2019, 05:20:38 AM
It's because all of them mooned in December '17 to Jan '18. New moon boys join the ride and blindly buy anything because it seems any coins can make them rich quickly. After that, they crashed dramatically altogether and a lot of people leave the market because they think this is another failed experiment. The graph is quite funny though.
8595  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is Inflation a Bad Thing? on: February 02, 2019, 04:48:23 AM
I believe there should be inflation to get the economy of Bitcoin going so the market cap rises on actual economic activity than pointless speculation. This should be fixed at about 1.5% annually. This will encourage investment and commerce, which is the point of a currency.

I'm not sure if I get this point correctly, but why inflation is required to push economic activity? I'm pretty sure more adoption (merchant start accepting bitcoin, etc) is the key for healthy economic activities, and as you said, not mere speculation. If you want to encourage investment, there is no need to produce more bitcoin. If the supply of the money increase then its buying power will decrease too. Instead of doing that, we should encourage valuable development which will be worth more in the future than today.
8596  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Who currently has more subs? on: February 02, 2019, 04:18:08 AM
- Why do they sell these bots? Will not it be easier for bot owners to use themselves instead of selling?

Because their bots can't guarantee they will make profits. Trading bots are just a bot, they can make mistake because all of them depends on technical analysis which sometimes sucks. Selling these bots would be more profitable because they can get at least somewhat better income from users.

- Do the owners of these bots use their bots?

No one really knows. I tend to believe they don't use it or rarely use it.
8597  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CLOUDBET IS SCAM! They are not paying for winning bets! on: February 02, 2019, 04:08:24 AM
I am not sure how to move my thread to "scam accusation", I will contact admins, maybe they will help.

There is a move topic option on the bottom left of the thread that you started. You can click it and then you'll be able to select which board to move and then click ok/next something similar. It's faster than contacting an admin, which I doubt he'll respond to something like this. Mod might help you though.
8598  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-2-1]Wikipedia Accepts Bitcoin Core & Bitcoin Cash Donations to Promote Kno on: February 02, 2019, 03:45:43 AM
I don't get the reason why BCH was accepted. They said it was because their donors were interested in different cryptos, but why BCH? Why not LTC? or XLM if they want to get the lowest fee as possible?

Something sounds off.
8599  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: how to create a shortcut to electrum btc wallet on: February 01, 2019, 08:49:33 AM
Another way to do it (after you install your Electrum) is to open your "Activities" window (press Windows key on your keyboard or click "Activities" on top-left of your desktop), and click Electrum. Your Electrum apps will open and you'll notice an Electrum icon on your taskbar/dock. Right-click the icon and click "Add to favorites".

This will make you can run Electrum by simply clicking the icon on the dock.
8600  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Buying your first Bitcoin or accumulating towards a goal? on: February 01, 2019, 07:32:38 AM
This is one of the most valuable thread I've ever read there. Even though I'm not new to this crypto world but I still don't accumulate to the point as OP did (and it looks like OP is here longer than me), so congrats OP. The guide covers a lot of topic from learning about crypto and fiat to the differences of BTC and BCH, I'm not sure if this will attract more people to read or they just skim it (because they want fancier design?), but it's good.

I'll beat you and get my first Bitcoin at the end of this year (hopefully)!
