861  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How has Bitcoin changed your life? on: July 02, 2012, 09:50:20 PM
It's changed my life immensely,
Well everyone besides my lover thinks I am a nut considering I closed all my Bank accounts  and every time I mention some critique that is economical or a bank related topic, I hear a snark about Bitcoins in a negative fashion being brought up eventually.

When I talk about Bitcoin I get big smiles with a response of "How much are they worth again?" and when I respond with the amount they are worth in USD, they are talking under my voice saying "Basically nothing, heheh snarf snarf".

You'd be surprised how difficult it really is to buy anything with BTC and think about "Trust" in the back of your mind.

Every Bitcoin directory site is out of date more then half of links are not accepting BTC or are offline or showing up those advertisement search engine pages.

How ever, I do like that the value of Bitcoin goes up daily considering I believe their will be a slow increase in value all the way up to decemeber where it will level off. So even if I spend Bitcoins the way I see it the increased in value tomorrow will just pay me back more in the long run then next time I get paid. So that is a plus but still....

We need to work smarter!
Out of the Box
Practical

862  Economy / Services / Re: [WTB] Working java code that generates a Bitcoin address (recievables required) on: July 02, 2012, 09:31:02 PM
There is working javaSCRIPT code to do this in the homepage at bitaddress.org, and it depends on no external code.

It might be a start.

Now there is an idea.....!

864  Economy / Services / Re: [WTB] Working java code that generates a Bitcoin address (recievables required) on: July 02, 2012, 09:23:54 PM
I could walk someone through creating a bitcoin address they just need to write java code. It sound counter intutive but some programmers have the know how just not the bitcoin know how. Im actually doing this for my pseudoclient documentation and so i fully understand how everything works i just need it converted to code and scince im not a pro java programmer i can not accomplish this on my own
865  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Decentralized Identity Management using the Block Chain on: July 02, 2012, 09:17:07 PM
Im actually working with another member on getting a blokchain openid system going that also is a 4chan board for every adress and you have to claim your adress by bitcoin message signing to mamage your board.

that's great news! How's the progress going? Any links?
I would like to be a part of it if that's ok.
Sure ill pm you shortly, out of respect i need to ask the members' permission that came up with the original idea first.

868  Economy / Services / Re: [WTB] Working java code that generates a Bitcoin address (recievables required) on: July 02, 2012, 08:03:49 PM
Thank you for taking the time to check into that for me!

That's just way to much information for me to know "what exactly is required at a minimum to create a Bitcoin address"
Not to mention, It uses a library called Bouncy Castle so every time I write my own implementations, I can't even test it because it no compiles.
869  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [IDEA] No more merging of outputs for payments = more anonymity? on: July 02, 2012, 07:36:49 AM

874  Economy / Services / [CLOSED] Java coder to generate a Bitcoin Address using Bouncy Castle on: July 02, 2012, 04:04:25 AM
Please PM me how much something like this might cost, I need a working java code that generates a Bitcoin address that is commented very well. I already understand how it all works as far as cryptogophy goes I just can't figure out java yet Tongue

Im' guessing you'll need to use Bouncy castle but not sure if its absolutely required.
875  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: [SOLVED] Bitcoin taking up 100% CPU constantly! on: July 02, 2012, 02:51:01 AM
Good thing my kernel is the newest version!
AFAIK this bug affects all versions of Linux presently...
https://it.slashdot.org/story/12/06/30/2123248/the-leap-second-is-here-are-your-systems-ready

That article claims it's only versions prior to 2.6.39.
No, it says the last time was prior to 2.6.29.

I'll admit I read it the other way.

That article claims it's only versions prior to 2.6.39.

I observed it on 3.3.7-1.fc16.x86_64 and 3.4.2-4.fc17.x86_64.  Not all vulnerable systems hit it, it depended on the system load at the time of the leapsecond.

and assumed it was that because I never experienced any problems but really was probably similar to this observation^
876  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / [IDEA] No more merging of outputs for payments = more anonymity? on: July 02, 2012, 02:24:08 AM
What does the community think about Cheaper In Bitcoins to have the option where multiple addresses(as many required) can be generated to one fund one order. The only merge that happens(On the block chain) is the accidental chance that the same merchant "withdraws" the same coins to an address, which sounds unlikely if Cheaper In Bitcoins was getting a lot of traffic.

Half-baked?
Good Idea?
Huh?
Thoughts?
Questions?
Ideas?
Suggestions?
(Hey that last bit rymed!)

879  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Free Talk Live CIB Advertising Fund Raiser! on: July 01, 2012, 10:39:32 PM
Id like to advertise both cheaperinbitcoins and just bitcoins it self, i cant remeber who sent in the scripts for bitcoin i remeber one of them involing a knock off of the ATT "you will" but with Bitcoins; there were two other ones.

Well if free talk live already has bitcoin advertisiments ill look else where to get it broadcasted(maybe locally). Id still like to get a Cheaper in bitcoins.com advertisment running on free talk live and volunteers for either the bitcoin and possibly the cheaperinbitcoins advertisement it would help with production costs so much.
880  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Free Talk Live CIB Advertising Fund Raiser! on: July 01, 2012, 04:19:28 PM
Hello everybody, I have talked to the guy at Free Talk Live about getting a radio advertisement made and quoted me $100 to make the advertisement and recommended I spend $100 in advertising funds and I have currently raised $50 in the last month but I need your help to make it to $200.

On A side note but still related:There was also this one time where a writer sent in professionally done radio scripts that was aimed at purely advertising for Bitcoins, I think it would be awesome if we could get that going on the air as well. If we could get some volunteers for voice acting, and production we could cut the costs down to $100/advertisement/month.
Here is my (Already Backed up offline) address for the fund: 1NY2tG3Ao4qAfoU8h67qtCQAU3ksAQMLev

Cheers Mate!
