what about Multisig, Consensus(unanimous) transaction reverseability? the Memorycoin voting system could be used to create such a system. this could be used to reverse thefts, however this would be an immense technological achievement. do it right, bitcoins are an even better asset. Do it wrong, we have a serious problem on our hands. the problem with such a system is the time it would take to reverse the transaction. hacker/thief could have did many things, such as trade the crypto for fiat or purchase items from bitcoin retailers. that's just my .02

This is really sad, there seems to have been alot of work put into OpenEX. It's like every day there is an exchange hacked.
So far only these 3 seem to be secure enough to not be hacked:

-MCxNow

A Ponzi scheme is a fraudulent investment operation where the operator, an individual or organization, pays returns to its investors from new capital paid to the operators by new investors, rather than from profit earned by the operator. Operators of Ponzi schemes usually entice new investors by offering higher returns than other investments, in the form of short-term returns that are either abnormally high or unusually consistent. Unless you were last in line and everyone else received its money back you really can't say this is trust worthy. Right on this moment the guy can't pay its debts and depends on new "investors" to pay back everyone, right? For this person, i have not a single good word. r3wt. I requested a small BTC withdrawal 4 days ago and am still waiting.  There is no btc moving out right now. i know that makes me look very bad, but you are not the only one with a pending btc withdrawal. i'm still working to make sure that everyone gets something out of this deal. i'm working on building a small system to keep track of who is owed what, so when the withdrawals are processed, a record will remain of what is still owed and to which customer. |

You can appeal this decision by contacting an administrator at admin@openex.pw" as i said i will look into it. i'm in the process of removing that ban since it only seems to catch legitimate users anyway. |

But to stay on topic his "proof" proves nothing. In fact it proves the opposite. There were no large transfer out in recent days so where was the theft? Scammers always be scamming, I feel sorry for anyone that got their coins stolen by r3wt. those involved are going to get caught. pretty simple. i'd be willing to bet you're involved, otherwise you wouldn't be here trying so hard to discredit me. as i said before. tread lightly. |

Its impossible, just like it is to prove you are involved. You took the risk and are legally responsible for your debts right? I guess when its gets to hot you magically receive the btc's back again so there is some hope at least. there is nothing magical about using foremost to recover a deleted wallet.dat from stdin.... and yes, i provided proof. you continually slander my name, and attempt to discredit me, the only honest person on this forum, which makes me think you are trying to keep the attention off of the real perp. let's see what the police can turn up |

The next step is notifying the police with all of this information as well as the server logs. something tell me this guy may have made a mistake and he will be caught. even if he is not, we will settle with the customers. we have yet to reach a consensus on the manner of repayment, but like poloniex we will settle with the customers in some way or form that involves us paying back the customer in the full amount. the website will be down for some months while we continue to work on LUAPOD and a open source rails project we are looking at. however, just as we have always been open and honest we will continue to remain transparent. we may have failed at this point but we are optimistic that we can still right the ship by doing the right thing. |
