861  Economy / Economics / Re: Apple wants to replace all passwords with biometrics on: June 18, 2022, 01:55:39 PM
With improving technology each day I am sure they will improve and will be in a state where they give zero errors. However I feel there is a bigger threat with biometrics kicking in which is sensitivity of our data. This is giving our facial metrics info and fingerprint scans to a private body, who we don't know what will do with this data point? Today it's not that difficult to fabricate a false fingerprint On a crime scene but I am pretty sure same won't be the case 10 years from now.
862  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Not your keys, not your coins" on: June 18, 2022, 05:03:20 AM
Obviously it's a good practice to have it always and forever people having their own keys while holding Cryptos are much more safer compared to those having stored their coins on exchange but eventually I sometimes feel if the project is a scam in itself there isn't a lot of things that anyone can do about it. Luna for example no matter where you had it stored it's still going to go to zero. I feel it's equally important to keep money in good projects and also diversify the same into different projects in order to be safe at all times.
863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: June 17, 2022, 09:58:09 PM
England have scored 498 runs in which is the highest score in the history of ODI cricket. The previous record was also belongs to England. However, the previous highest score against with Australia and today Netherlands. Although the Netherlands is a relatively small team according to the England team position on the cricket field. However, it will be very difficult for any other team to break this record.
England is holding the top 3 record score of ODI match. Today they scored the highest run against a weak opponent, but the previous two record was made against strong opponent Pakistan and Australia. SRI Lanka was holding the top ODI score record from 2006 to 2016. They have made it against Netherlands in the same venue. Probably no team will be able to break the current top score record of England within next few years.

I think this record set by England will last a long time. Only England has scored more than 450 runs in the history of ODI cricket. England has done it twice. Moreover, the first three records in the record of highest runs belong to England. It is very difficult to collect about 10 runs in each over. I don't think anyone will be able to break this record in the future.
What a match it was today, there was only one team which has so good players that can score around 500 runs. Players like Jos Buttler, Malan, Root and Livingstone and from nowhere came Phil Salt who came obviously out of syllabus. You can easily say that Current England team is the best team England has ever had. I really wish they had scored 500 runs it would have been a different kind of record which would have been written in golden letters, no one 20 years ago would have even imagine a 400 in a 50 over game forget about a 500. On one side i am pretty happy for this but at the same time for bowlers i have felt really sad.
864  Other / Politics & Society / Re: "I do not get involved in politics, but then complaint if things do not go well" on: June 17, 2022, 06:01:27 PM
A friend of mine once told me "if you do not do politics, they will do politics to you". Politics are mostly distasteful - arguments, propaganda, politicians creating problems for their own gain and trying to radicalise people to their side. There is probably nothing clean anywhere in the political arena.

However, as disgusting as they are, the option of not getting involved does not really work. You need to defend your interests and make sure that the politicians of your country know that you are watching and that you will hold the to account.
Politics is not just the national or state of government politics. I think politics and mankind are really two inseparable things, humans will always be involved in poltics no matter if it's within family, your workplace or entire national politics. Because you always have to defend your interests which can only be done if you take sides and be smart enough to do politics. People who say they are not into politics are just ignoring this fact and importance of politics. And you are absolutely right when it comes to national politics protection of your interest and your thinking is very important and eventually it will come back to you if you do not become a part of it.
865  Economy / Economics / Re: LMAO: India resells Russian oil to the European Union. on: June 17, 2022, 05:56:19 PM
India has minimal oil reserves of it's own, it's either dependent upon the gulf to buy oil or on Russia to buy oil for its own consumption only, if it is selling the oil it has for it's own consumption to EU then obviously this is either Gulf's oil or Russia's oil. So there is a very good chance that The oil we are sending to EU is from Russia Only. This shows how sanctions are just scam and you actually are in dire need of Few resources.

Exactly. All the focus has been on India, who are being accused of re-exporting Russian oil. But hardly anyone asks why the Europeans are ready to import refined products sourced from this oil. And there doesn't exist sufficient proof to claim that India is re-exporting large quantities of Russian product. India imports around 5 million barrels of crude oil per day and Russia provides 20% of that volume. The remainder comes from other countries such as Iraq and Saudi Arabia. The diesel and naphtha that India exports to the EU maybe sourced from the Iraqi or Saudi oil.
I always feel blaming counties for which side they are taking in a war is really stupid. In a war situation both the countries generally are equal culprits and it's not the US has never attacked any country on the name of their self defense. So why should the world boycott Russia when they are doing the same? Blaming India just to think about their own profit is really stupid. I would be pretty happy with the India government if they are actually doing this buying oil from Russia and reexporting it back.
866  Economy / Economics / Re: Mike Novogratz says the economy is going to collapse on: June 17, 2022, 05:52:30 PM
If you see it in a way all the economic indicators clearly indicates coming recession you can easily the amount of money that has been printed lately, you can easily see the rates of inflations around the world right now, you can see the war situation as well and how there has been a big bull run since past few years. Any fool can tell there is going to be a recession. But how are we going to keep ourselves safe from it is really an intriguing question, i think best way is to create multiple sources of income and also make sure you create such a position for yourself at the workplace that you become really irreplaceable. I think these are the only two things you can do on income front.
867  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is crypto winter setting in.. and how long will it last on: June 17, 2022, 01:28:36 PM

Many crypto exchanges are laying off employees. Recentlycelsius recently has limited the withdrawal
Bill Gates  has called  Crypto, NFTs as Based on ‘Greater-Fool’ Theory
Yet many other well read people like American billionaire businessman David Rubenstein said that crypto would not go anywhere despite the ongoing market correction.

How long will this market correction will continue and where will this stop.. and where will Bitcoin stabalize

Not only crypto winter is coming in, i can sense a complete VC winter setting in which means VCs all around the world are now trying to save their capital because recession can kick in anytime. For crypto too i think the winter is already going on since last November itself after the 69000 mark was hit the last time. Post that all we are seeing is complete bearishness only.
868  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 8 months low, no better time than now. on: June 16, 2022, 08:10:24 PM
So much have been in the fore play in Bitcoin and to that a lot of issues have forced Bitcoin to behave in the current behavior, from sec calling Bitcoin an anti-environment and eco friendly even though we know all this are campaign of fallacy championed by anti Bitcoin crusader.
8 months low? I thought this was 18 months low right? We have never seen bitcoin going less than 30k since last December as far as i can probably remember. I am sure it is not because of this anti environment fallacy and definitely not because of fed doing some random things with dollar because if that would have been the reason I am sure bitcoin would have pumped instead of going down. It's just mere market manipulations that are going on and won't stop until there is some good bullish consolidation.
869  Local / India / Re: What might be the reason for Bitcoin to go below 25k? on: June 16, 2022, 05:32:57 PM
I was suprised when I saw Bitcoin falling so fast from yesterday's price point till now. June 12th the price was holding around at 29k, i assumed it will go up or go down a little bit.

Some what similar to June 6th and then May 30th. It has been been hovering around the range of 28k to 30k for quiet some time now. Suddenly it went below 25k on a single day and that becomes a trigger for someone like me who saw Bitcoin usd value at around 3k to 4k between 2018 to 2019 in the month of April. In reality that was the golden time to grab 1 Bitcoin.

This situation isn't alarming for me but, i did some checks within the forum and found out that, this situation might have arised because of the LUNA issue or it might have been because of the global inflation situation.

What do you guys think can be the issue? Let's have a discussion here!

HINGLISH REPLY ACCEPTED
Some are saying it's because of the Celsius network breaking down while some think it's because of the global depression coming in, but truth is all of this is just a market cycle, you have to have a depression to normalise the market after an uptrend, if you see monthly charts of last year you'll see how bitcoin was trading every month on it's upper Bollinger it obviously has to see some depression days to bring the normalcy back in the market.
870  Economy / Economics / Re: LMAO: India resells Russian oil to the European Union. on: June 16, 2022, 05:27:31 PM
I first saw this in a Spanish forum, but I see that a national newspaper in Spain has brought it out.

https://www.elmundo.es/economia/macroeconomia/2022/06/04/629a1c44e4d4d8fb2a8b460d.html

In English:

https://www.marketwatch.com/story/why-india-is-set-to-win-big-as-eu-bans-russian-oil-imports-11654021874

India is receiving 600,000 barrels per day from Russia compared to 90,000 barrels per day last year, which buys at below market price, refines and sells at a higher price to Europe. What a masterstroke by the European Union, LMAO.

Nobody thought of this? Last Friday the EU adopted sanctions banning oil imports from Russia.

https://thehill.com/policy/energy-environment/3511129-eu-officially-adopts-russian-oil-embargo/

Once this has come to light, what are they going to do? Not buy from India? It reminds me of exchanges or other entities that don't want tainted coins.

I put this comment here because I think it is the key to the issue:

Once the oil is refined in to diesel, it will be impossible to know about it's origin. And here, the situation is further complicated by the fact that the two oil companies who have purchased huge amounts of oil recently (Nayara Energy and Reliance Industries) also import a lot of oil from Iraq and Saudi Arabia. So they can always claim that the diesel they sell to the EU is sourced from Iraqi crude. After all, it is same substance with the same chemical composition coming from different oil wells. There is no 100% accurate method to find out how many molecules came from Russia, and how many came from Iraq.

So India claims that what it sells to the EU does not come from Russia, the EU claims that what it buys does not come from Russia, when most likely at least some of what it buys from India comes from Russia, and more expensively. LMAO.

871  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Hodlers are actively buying bitcoin these days on: June 16, 2022, 05:18:30 PM
the blockchain analysis shows that a lot of bitcoin hodlers are actively buying bitcoin and increasing their wealth by taking advantage of the current discount offered to them by the weak hands and their panic sells.
as we can see here the number of addresses that are holding more than 1 bitcoin is significantly increasing which shows how people who were struggling to reach 1BTC target are succeeding these days and are even surpassing that target heading to the next one.

source of the pic is reddit
This has always been a trend lately, weak hands sell their holdings in the times when ideally you should buy. This actually is the reason why the rich becomes richer and the poor becomes poorer and this obviously indicates that there will definitely be bull market once again pretty soon and this is just the time for accumulation and not selling your holdings.
872  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you educate petty traders in adopting Bitcoin? on: June 12, 2022, 08:30:50 PM
I have come to realize that mostly on daily basis, petty traders; hawker stall, street vendors, street hawkers, market men and women, kiosks do transactions often and frequently and they are not amongst the top class citizens in the society. Some are uneducated and are not anywhere near technology to get acquainted with blockchain and Bitcoin. I believe if they are informed and have knowledge about Bitcoin properly they will want to key into it so as to save themselves of unnecessary stress and expenses from banks and other groups.
What's your opinion in educating these petty traders and letting them know more about Bitcoin because  I believe this is amongst the grassroot adoption which starts from the base as they do transact more often than some of the big companies we hear of. Although the petty traders do little amount but it is most often on daily basis.
What steps would you take in drawing the attention of the traders to Bitcoin?
I am assuming petty traders here means the people who are trading goods for leaving like small shopkeepers and hawkers as you have mentioned and not crypto traders. So educating them is a hard task because these people aren't that literate they will adopt a change only if it is advantageous for them so if you can offer them some real quick incentive if they adopt Cryptocurrencies only then they will be interested in listening to you otherwise they would barely implement it. The best thing you can do is advise them to start accepting payments in bitcoin however that too won't really be directly profitable for them so I doubt they will do such a thing.
873  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Sudden Adult Death Syndrome: ... Healthy People Dropping Dead At Alarming Rate on: June 12, 2022, 08:08:52 PM
No idea what is the reason for this but I have seen this increasing these days in my country India as well. Infact two big celebrities who weren't that old fell to death just like this only. One was the recent death of very popular Singer KK and earlier this year there as a celebrity named Sidharth Shukla who fell to death in same manner just at the age of 41. I doubt this has to do anything with Covid vaccine to be specific however the possibility of such a thing obviously cannot be completely ignored.
874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: June 12, 2022, 08:01:40 PM
India lost the second match as well as the first T20. Indian players have been playing in the IPL for a long time, at the same time India is the host of this series. However, their performance in both the matches was poor. In the first match, India lost badly despite giving a huge target of 212 runs. In today's match, India has given a target of only 149 runs. Heinrich Klaasen's devastating 81 off 48 balls helped South Africa to win today. With three matches left in the series, India's chances of winning the series still exist.
It was meant to be as the target was low. South Africa now leading the 5 match T20 series with two victory. I believe that South Africa will win this series. India lost the first match for their poor bowling figure during the death overs. And they lost the match today as their batsmen failed to set a big target. Indian team should change their game plan. South Africa won the toss and decided to bat bowl first in both match. And they have chased the target without any difficulties. South Africa will do the same thing if they win the toss in next match.
Undoubtedly South Africa will win the series, India is really not able to find that winning combination. It's just struggling sometimes with it's batting and other times with it's bowling. Today they skittled for just 149 which too was lucky after fall of quick 6 wickets and in previous match their bowlers skittled. India is really no match in front of this south Africa team. I would be surprised if India wins this series from here.

Edit

Damn it was indeed typo, they already made the changes on the document. Celebration lasted for full 30 minutes lol. Every poor soul is $ucked.  Undecided
Hahah for a second i was like wow man this is a really. Good news and then went on to see the tds schedule and then read your message. Cheesy. Things would have been entirely different if it would have been 0.1% which ideally it should be. Because then it's not blocking that much capital of the fellow traders who are trying to trade. But I am thinking about the fellow exchanges who will now have to integrate TDS mechanism in their system and file regular returns with ITD for all such customer.
876  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the future of bitcoin? Commodity, currency or smth else? on: June 12, 2022, 06:49:02 PM
It looks like any cryptocurrency will not be able to replace current FIAT because any of them is finite. "Money" should have an unlimited future because the number of inhabitants of the planet is increasing and the socially produced product is increasing. Now bitcoin is more like a reserved commodity for part of the population. Those who do not buy bitcoin will be able to use other cryptocurrencies. It seems that the currency that will be in circulation and will be affordable, that currency will have a chance to become the main cryptocurrency in the future.
Actually there is no need of money being unlimited if you can increase the value of that money and go down by it's denomination. Both the things are possible with bitcoin and other Cryptos you can go all the way upto each Satoshi and at the same time the value of a bitcoin is increasing as more users are coming in. The truth is even in fiat markets the same thing happens only that value of currency decreases and goods increases here the value of currency would increase and goods would decrease.
877  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the comparative advantage of Bitcoin over other blockchains? on: June 11, 2022, 04:35:47 PM
Bitcoin is no doubt the first digital currency i.e digital gold to be founded. So far it has taken the lead over other crypto currencies such as ethereum, cardano, stellar etc for some years now. It has been in limelight and had been recognized and accepted as a means of legal tender in most part of the world. Currently, many blockchain projects are under development with good potentials and use cases. Now I ask a question, Will Bitcoin survive the taste of time in the nearest future?  Will there be any preferential treatment for Bitcoin if definitely a new contender comes up?
Your thoughts, ideas and opinions are welcomed.
It's so far the most decentralised one. Even thought this advantage could vanish in just one second if Satoshi is discovered or he moves some of his Bitcoins from his cold storage. But so far this is the biggest advantage that Bitcoin offers otherwise in terms of scalability and price of a transaction it is much worse than others. Only two advantages are it's the first blockchain amongst all others and it is most decentralised one too
878  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin mining a zero-sum game? Or is it a race to the top? on: June 11, 2022, 12:49:02 PM
Big firms like Intel are coming into the sector by bringing their custom ASIC knowledge to produce processors for SHA-256 hashing, according to a recent story in Bitcoin Magazine, stating categorically that newcomers and small mining businesses will face more challenges when more efficient mining machines are introduced.
To my knowledge, the mining algorithm was created as a 'Red Queen Game2', or a multi-leader Stackelberg game for the economists out there. The Nash equilibrium isn't supposed to be affected by the advent of technologies that cut the cost of mining operations—at least not if all participants have equal access to them.

But I can't help but wonder if these new big time players could use new technology to greatly influece the Mining and Hashing power of bitcoin thereby reducing its efficiency. What are your thoughts on this?

This is really new and interesting that how these players have started to influence mining sector as well now. I won't be surprised to learn if big mining firms are lobbying or even funding ASIC manufacturers to give these high speed processors dedicatedly to them all on all it's definitely a race to the top. This sector has been completely capitalised and a sole individual is really nowhere in the competition if you compare it to all the corporates in here. It was once a zero sum game but not now for sure.
879  Local / India / Re: RBI deputy governor states CBDC will wipeout cryptocurrency on: June 11, 2022, 12:44:49 PM
I don't know which world is he living in? People prefer bitcoin primarily because of two reasons, one is that it gives you that edge with anonymity and you are difficult to be in radar of governments around the world if you use Cryptos while the second set of people use it for capital gains they think it's value will always keep on rising, CBDC doesn't offer you any benefit out of these two then why would anyone think that CBDC can wipe out Cryptocurrencies? Comparing bitcoin with UPI is sheer stupidity.

They are still living in the stone age in my opinion. They could have made India the most happening place for blockchain and cryptocurrency but they choose not to do so. In these critical times when you are surrounded by failing countries, they could have taken a step further in boosting the economy by accepting cryptocurrency as a part of the new-age tech revolution and implementing proper regulations as well as taxation systems. Such an attitude was accepted by the banks and their governing body.
To be honest I don't blame India for being laggard to support Cryptocurrencies, no big country in the world really did this so you have to maintain that stance on international level as well to save your place in global economics. But yes it's equally true that no big country has taken such harsh steps to curb Bitcoins or Cryptocurrencies usage except China, so what government is doing is obviously stupidity. I am not expecting them to accept crypto as a currency obviously, but I am also not expecting them to curb it's usage as an asset as well.

To be honest I sometimes feel that the government of India is following the Chinese government. China banned cryptocurrency, and India put in place a stringent law that will eventually destroy the crypto business in India. China started working on CBDC and India started doing the same. Following a country won't solve India's problem.
Haha this is really true. A lot of times our government has shown exactly the same steps what the Chinese have been doing. Even though the way they take for doing this is entirely different but the result they want to reach with their steps is exactly the same as what Chinese want to do. China openly banned all the Cryptocurrencies while India didn't do it openly yet did all the things possible to ban Cryptocurrencies or remove them from system.
880  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The future of Bitcoin is set with the launch of Bitcoin academy in Brooklyn? on: June 11, 2022, 08:18:24 AM
The founder of financial tech company Block Inc., Jack Dorsey announced he is collaborating with the rapper Jay-Z by launching a Bitcoin Academy in Brooklyn. The Bitcoin Academy’s mission aims to empower and provide education to the region. The project’s website further details that residents of Marcy House, located in Brooklyn, New York will be eligible for free courses and other benefits like internet data plans.
I think this is the motivation we need to help create awareness in their various countries and educate our people on the benefits of cryptocurrencies.
Thoughts?

https://news.bitcoin.com/education-is-power-jack-dorsey-and-jay-z-launch-a-bitcoin-academy-in-brooklyn/?webview=1
That's a good news for the community as this means wider Availability of knowledge among people. Also this will make the knowledge in cryptospace slightly more organized and institutionalized. Till now the knowledge has only been in informal way. This will obviously bring in good projects which provide better solutions using the blochchain technology as a whole
