Yes you are right there performance was not good. They have the target of 187 runs. They played very well in the whole tournament like India played in the ICC World Cup but lost the final match just kike that Kenya also won the all the matches of the tournament but lost the final match.
The target wasn't much high but there wes Henry Ssenyondo who bowled really well and collected 4 wickets for 20 runs. After that there is Dinesh Nakrani who collected 3 wickets for 17 runs. By the way Congratulations to Uganda team they played really.  Smiley

This was expected. Wasn't it? But then, I never thought that the match would be so one-sided. There is no doubt that Uganda is the strongest African team outside Southern Africa. But then, the margin of victory once again proves that there is a big gap between Uganda and Kenya. Kenya is on the decline. Just take a look at their team. It is completely dominated by expats. This is one of the signs, when the team is on a downslide. Same thing happened with Danmark as well. Two decades ago, they were one of the strongest associate sides and then almost the entire squad was native. Now they are nowhere near the other top associates in Europe and the squad is close to 100% foreigner.

Soumya Sarkar may gift a victory to Bangladesh today. But the interesting thing is that he hardly got any support from the other batsmen. Apart from his 169, the next top score was 45 from the no.6 batsman Mushfiqur Rahim. And it's not like the New Zealand bowlers were wayward. They bowled with tight line and length, especially Adam Milne, Jacob Duffy and William O’Rourke. Adithya Ashok, on his ODI debut did a decent job as well. Still, a Bangladesh win is not confirmed yet. The pitch looks good for batting.

In direct confrontation with the federal government, Texas governor Greg Abbott has signed the bill SB4, which would make border crossings unlawful and an offense that comes with imprisonment. Republican states such as Arizona and Texas have been rebelling against the Biden policies for sometime, as they are bearing the brunt of the illegal immigration onslaught. Biden will move against the bill, and this will further polarize the electorate ahead of the 2024 POTUS elections. And more importantly, it puts moderate Democrats in a tough situation.

Hmmm, what has been the valid fault of Biden in all this? I hear some people saying immigrant this, immigrant that, but in reality, the influx of immigrants is not as bad as they say, and the administration is even trying its best to curb many and keep America safe. But certainly not building a war like the authoritarian and selfish Trump, or you don't know that Trump himself is an immigrant by blood? Simply because he was born in America doesn't exonerate him from that. I know his type, he needs total acceptance, and what they or their family benefits from, they do not like others to benefit from the same.

What a load of BS!

No one has anything against immigrants. Republicans even encourage legal immigration. USA receives the largest number of legal immigrants every year, and none of the Republican politicians have voiced against this. This is the same tactic from Democrats for some time. You are equating people who patiently go through the legal immigration process and wait their turn, to those criminals who jump the border without any sort of screening. No sane country in the world allows illegal immigration (other than the US). A few months back, Saudi Arabian border guards massacred hundreds of illegal immigrants near the Yemen border.

866  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: December 19, 2023, 07:38:49 AM
I agree with you. Two decades ago the Kenyan squad had several world-class players. This team could have done well against the likes of Bangladesh and Zimbabwe back then. But in between the Kenya team was almost lost. Their performance deteriorated badly. And we haven't seen a Kenyan team regularly in cricket for a long time. But in the last 2/3 years, Kenya wants to back cricket again. And slowly this group is improving. Compared to teams like Uganda, the Kenyan team is experienced. I hope Kenya's win against Uganda will prove their mettle.

I have noticed some improvement in the performance of the Kenyan team. But now the situation is much different. Teams like Namibia and Uganda are much ahead of them. And 75% of the squad is now comprised of Asian origin players (two decades ago, 75% were native). I am still hopeful of a turnaround, but it will take them a long time to recover from the backstabbing that they received from the ICC. The positive thing is that because of social media, the ICC can no longer ignore the associate nations. In recent past they have seen an increase in funding.
867  Economy / Economics / Re: Energy crisis? What energy crisis? Oil dips to 3 months low despite OPEC cuts! on: December 19, 2023, 07:28:50 AM
Hmm... by now the OPEC should have realized this. New technology has helped non-OPEC nations to increase their crude output. Oil production is no longer dominated by the GCC and CIS nations. For example, USA is the top crude oil producer in the world, and they replaced Saudi Arabia from this spot recently. Anyway, global crude oil consumption has peaked due to rising share of EVs. Here in India, almost 10% of the domestic vehicles in my area are EVs and the share is rising steeply with each passing year. If OPEC+ cuts down on their output, it will not have any impact on the global prices. Only result would be that they will lose their market share to other countries such as Guyana and Canada.
868  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Netball World Cup - South Africa - Cape Town on: December 19, 2023, 07:18:30 AM
Don't know much about Netball, but I assume that English speaking countries such as England, New Zealand and Australia are the dominating force in this sport. 6 countries (including the hosts) managed to enter the tournament directly, and remaining 10 teams came from the regional qualifiers (2 each from 5 continental qualifiers). I like this idea of regional qualification. Unlike some of the other sports bodies such as FIFA, they are ensuring that there is adequate representation from all the regions. For example, Tonga and Fiji have qualified from the Oceania qualifiers.
869  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: December 19, 2023, 06:54:06 AM
Shaheen Shah Afridi is world best bowlers but Pcb overloaded played him in T20, ODI and test cricket regularly.  I think that the resaon they didn't perform well but new 2 bowlers Amir jamal and khuram Shahzad performance in first test is outstanding they picked more wickets in test cricket history as test debut bowlers. Pakistan need to change few player that play well Australia fast bowlers beacuse in 1st test they all out Pakistan in just 89 runs a bad score in second inning. Faheem Ashraf didn't perform well in bowling and batting they will be replaced in second test match against Australia.

Requirement is different for T20 format and test format. In T20, you can't go overaggressive. If you do so, then you may concede 20 runs per over. But in test cricket you need to show aggression, since wicket taking is the priority. In case of Shaheen, this is exactly what happened. He tailored his bowling to suit the T20 leagues, and as a result he can't take wickets in test format. This is why I always say that players need to focus on just one format rather than getting their hands dirty with all three of them. But then, it is up to the PCB to enforce any such rule.
870  Economy / Economics / Re: We need higher wages off course but goverment need to do one thing on: December 19, 2023, 06:44:21 AM
Honestly I believe that it is not the duty of government to decide wages on private sector. It should be solely decided by the market. And if government dictates the private sector and put minimum wage requirements, then it will impact merit. Hardworking people will be paid at almost the same level at unproductive people. In the end, the businesses will be forced to layoff some of the staff, or shut down altogether. Only thing that the government should do is to make sure that there is no slave labor, discrimination or exploitation.
871  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: December 19, 2023, 06:34:09 AM
South Africa conceded a humiliating defeat in the last T20 match and the first ODI match. They lost both these matches by huge margins. The South African team was defeated due to the very poor performance of the batsmen. I don't see any chance of victory against India unless the performance of the team's batsmen improves. South Africa set a target of just 117 runs in the first ODI. At least 300 was needed on this pitch to beat India. We saw very bad batting from South Africa. In today's match batsmen have to bat with more responsibility.

Their batting lineup was not very experienced. Quinton de Kock has retired from ODI format to focus more on T20. And during last match the inexperienced pair of Reeza Hendricks and Tony de Zorzi opened the batting for them. The middle order was quite experienced, with players such as Rassie van der Dussen, Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller. But none of them scored runs during the last match. And then their pace bowlers were completely new to international cricket, including Nandre Burger and Wiaan Mulder.
872  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pakistan Super League #PSL Discussion Thread on: December 19, 2023, 05:37:13 AM
There is some ugly drama going on with the PSL even before the season starts. Ahmed Shehzad is claiming that the PCB tried their best to keep him out of the PSL. He claimed that PCB and all the six franchises were hell bent to make sure that he doesn't play the next season's PSL. He justified his outburst by pointing that he was not picked by any of the franchises despite performing really well in the National T20 Cup. I don't know how much truth is there in these allegations, but when Quetta Gladiators won the tile in 2019, Shehzad was one of their key performers.
873  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: December 19, 2023, 05:22:22 AM
Kenya failed to win their last match against Uganda. Kenya lost by 33 runs against Uganda in the T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier match. Kenya will definitely want to defeat the Ugandan team in today's match. I would say Kenya and Uganda are almost equally strong teams. Both teams have equal chances of winning. In the group stage match against Rwanda, Uganda lost by 2 runs. So if the Kenyan bowlers can do well in today's match as well then they have a chance to win. Kenya will not be able to beat a team like Uganda without good performance from the bowlers.

Two decades ago, Kenya had some world class players in their squad, such as Maurice Odumbe, Steve Tikolo, Collins Obuya, Thomas Odoyo and Ravindu Shah. But those times are long gone. Once the golden generation retired from cricket, they went downhill. Only Collins Obuya is still with them. Now the squad is primarily composed of Indian origin players. Kenya is a prime example where the ICC actually managed to destroy cricket. Anyway, now Uganda and Namibia are the strongest associate sides from African continent. Kenya is nowhere in picture.

This doesn't call for any celebration but weeping, for him to have gotten that much points to the fact that people still appreciate someone who behaved like an authoritarian, anti-humanitarian, someone who undermined the rule of law and democracy and also spit ill messages of division in his mouth. Yes, the world is still voting for him, that is how appreciative people are of odd things and I don't blame them, I only blame their idiocy. Donald Trump is such that needs no introduction anymore. From his campaign that time to his ruling and post-ruling remarks, one should know that he's dramatic, unstable and ungrateful, no wonder he stigmatizes those who joined hands in building America of the forefathers' dreams. I amn't surprised about these polls though as I do not see Trump having such a poll in reality. It's not today we see otherwise in reality.

This sort of scaremongering is not going to work, as we have seen recently. It worked in 2020, but then people got smarter. Biden's term has been an unmitigated disaster. You can't ask people to vote for Biden, for the sole reason of keeping Trump away from power. Even Democrats have been complaining about the situation at the Mexican border but Biden will not listen. FY 2022 saw a record 2.2 million unauthorized crossings and the figure for FY 2023 will be even higher. And after all this, some people still want to vote for Biden just because they want to keep Trump out of power.

The track at Gqeberha is rumored to offer a lot of support for the spinners. So South Africa is expected to play both Keshav Maharaj and Tabraiz Shamsi. India is likely to include Kuldeep Yadav as the full-time spinner, with Axar Patel as the backup. Sai Sudharsan made his debut in the first match and did well. He is expected to be included for today's match as well. Sanju Samson fans on the other hand can whine even more. I will be looking closely into the performance from Arshdeep and Avesh, as these two are very inconsistent.
876  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: December 19, 2023, 04:20:03 AM
Lewandowski needs to move to Saudi or whatever place faster than he imagine, Barcelona doesnt suit good for him this season and he is becoming old. I think is a win-win transfer for everybody, for the player for Barcelona and for the Saudi league to count a new high value striker.

And how would it benefit Lewandowski if he moved to Saudi Arabia? You said he needs to do that, but what is the benefit for him? He isn't playing well in Barcelona, I agree. But he would not gain anything if he moved to Saudi Arabia. Ronaldo did, because money is everything to him. But there are people with a heart in their chest, listening to it.

Are you saying that money is important for Cristiano Ronaldo, but that is not the case with Robert Lewandowski? In the end everyone cares about money. And let's not forget that Lewandowski has at the most 2-3 years left of his career (he is already 35 years old). So this is like the ideal time to move to one of the rich clubs in the middle east. But then I am not sure whether he will agree to a deal from Saudi. A few months ago, one of the Saudi clubs approached him with a €150 million per year offer, but he rejected it outright.

Final match

Haryana won the toss and elected batting. Haryana batsman makes 3 run in 1 over and Rajasthan no any wicket against haryana batsman. Rajasthan bowler out the haryana batsman in the fourth ball of the 2 over. This is the first achievement for Rajasthan. Haryana batsman makes 50 run in 10 over and 2 out. Haryana batsman could not worked hard and struggle. Haryana batsman makes 99 run in 20 over and 3 outs. Haryana batsman makes 287 run in 50 over and 8 outs. This is the target for Rajasthan. This is the easy target.
What an amazing game at the end Haryana won by 30 runs and won the trophy. Sumit Kumar extraordinary inning lead his team to victory for excellent bowling 3/34 and scored 28* helped to much his team to win this match. Rajasthan failed to beat haryana and Abhijeet Tomar 106 (129) batting excellent performed so extra and lead to victory. Aniket Choudhary his bowling spell excellent for 4/49.

This year's Vijay Hazare Trophy was very entertaining. But the big question is whether the performances will be noted by selectors or not. Nowadays, selectors ignore the performances in domestic tournaments and only consider the IPL performance while deciding the selection for national team. Sumit Kumar of Haryana was the player of the match in the final as well as the player of the series in Vijay Hazare. But is there a realistic chance of him being selected for the national team? The answer is no. So what is the point in having such a grand competition?
878  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: December 19, 2023, 03:56:05 AM
It is very sad to see Brazil's current performance. I see them relying heavily on Neymar for their game tactics. In the past, Brazil was very strong in all lines, even their defenders could have the qualities of a striker. In the past, every line was able to score goals and it didn't matter if one or two people were injured because they were still able to show their best performance. I still remember watching Brazil in the 2002 and 2006 World Cups where they performed very well and didn't just rely on one or two players as is happening now.

I am not sure whether there is any decline in the performance of the Brazilian national team. During the 2022 FIFA World Cup, a number of players performed really well, such as Vinícius Júnior, Richarlison and Casemiro. But the other teams have caught up with them. Brazil no longer dominates world football. At this point they are ranked #3 by FIFA, behind Argentina and France. And there is not much gap between fourth placed Belgium and Brazil. England may also overtake them in the future.
879  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Women's Cricket Prediction & Discussion - T20 & ODI on: December 19, 2023, 03:42:20 AM
In women International Pakistan women and New Zealand,  New Zealand women won the toss and elected batting. New Zealand women batsman makes 5 run in 1 over and Pakistan women no any wicket against new Zealand batsman. Pakistan women bowler out the new Zealand women batsman in the fivth ball of the 8 over. This is the first achievement for Pakistan women team. New Zealand women batsman makes 23 runs in 10 over and 1 out. New Zealand women batsman could not worked hard and struggle. New Zealand batsman makes 252 run in 50 over and 8 outs. This is the target for Pakistan women batsman. This is the good target. Pakistani women batsmen scored 251 runs in 50 overs.  They have put the game in a super over.Pakistan women batsman complete this target and won the match.New Zealand batsmen and bowlers would have won the match if they worked hard and tried.

Turned out to be a very exciting match, with Pakistan winning in the super-over. This was an away tour for Pakistan and there are lot of positives for them to take away from it. Although the ODI series was won by New Zealand 2-1, the victory in the last match should act as some sort of consolation for the Pakistan women. New Zealand is quite strong in women's cricket and they have an established first-class system established for the women players. On the other hand, Pakistan women doesn't even have a proper domestic system.

Not sure how it would be successful or not or pan out as they are hoping but you have to give credit to the BCCI for trying to find new ways to print money. At least In India, they are trying to tap and reach out to any potential market.

Useless bilateral will die soon (Barring a few series), these guys know it and already started gearing up.
✂✂✂✂

Already we have 3 months out of 12 blocked for the IPL. Then we have state level leagues such as the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) and the Karnataka Premier League (KPL). I don't understand the requirement for this second tier league. Ideally BCCI should organize a second division for each of the IPL franchises. For example, TNPL should actually be organized by the CSK instead of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association. Similarly, Punjab Kings should organize a second division league for regions of Punjab, Haryana, JK and HP. This proposed 10 over league is just a carbon copy of IPL and it will be repetitive.
