ALS is such a horrible disease which I hope we start to get a handle on in the future. He is an inspiration. I have had the honor of caring for several people affected by this disease and I will say he is not the exception, but the rule.
He served to harden the framework of bitcoin in the very early days and we all owe him a debt of gratitude to making our lives (even those who don't use bitcoin) just a little more secure.
ALS is a terrible terrible disease and its so sad that so little progress has been made even though it has been 80 years since Lou Gehrig's raised awareness. Its also sad that research budgets for fighting the disease are relatively small. One organization working hard to fight ALS is ALSTDI ( http://www.als.net/) . For anyone reading this, please consider them when you are deciding on your charitable giving. weed also works

Why don't we deliver someone to SS# only. and the drones will catch up to us based on our GPS coordinates, so they can get us if we're at work or shopping at that mall.

Dear fellow miners,
That in and of itself is not a big deal. What is rather cool however, is that I'm mining with a single Block Erupter that I bought on eBay for $300. My hash rate hovers around 38 Gh/s. That means of the current Total Hash Rate of 55,000 TH/s or so, I represent a scant 0.069091%. I didn't just find a block, I crushed it with a share value of 15.6G. Was I solo mining? Hell no. I'm contributing a minuscule amount of work to the Eligius pool. Nevertheless, there is my block. Height 298,562. See? Lightning can and does strike. If any of you feel bad about the fact that earned +0.00016263 BTC instead of 25 BTC for my efforts, my address is 19cK8nHieqXxZbWoYFSdSgm2Q3Cb5CEPN6 Donations welcome!!
Happy Mining!, Tony
i don't despise you, but only wizards deserve the 25/50 BTC.

I don't know why satoshi chose 21 million but in reality won't people stop mining eventually? Like it will be to hard and not profitable?
or Bitcoin price will be that high and we could be having 28 picometer Asics for making mining still profitable Lol that is true of price keeps going up then mining will stay profitable and maybe that was satoshis goal and btw what happens when they are all mined up? Don't we need miners? In 2140, when there are no more bitcoins left to mine, the miners will only receive the transaction fees paid by other bitcoin users. We still need them to continue mining and processing transactions. At that point, the fees should be significant enough to keep mining profitable. fees? significant enough? so fees of like 0.1 because bitcoin is pretty much worthless at that point?

- It has to be under $100 - it has to be able to be bought with bitcoin and shipped worldwide - it should be something that most people into bitcoin will appreciate.
