1echo I can only suggest you try the wallet and check it out yourself - surely judging from the thread the coin could be dead, but when you start staking you realize it's fucking kicking Smiley

This is a very quiet community... Grin

I'm still holding on to my PHS but this silence sometime makes wonder; is this coin dead?

Or is everyone just quietly staking?

When things simply work there is no need for fuss or scammy innovation claims.
The community has over 1000 followers on Tsu and many staking nodes...

Thanks for the offer runpaint but I'm already staking Wink

You can see it for yourself: K8q6EGyGDfuCRK8AHdUZRAoLDY2qkSoFo1

PS- in fact I believe the stake comes too fast with the Key algo, which I think doesn't incentivize people to stake ongoing/for longer (including me).
It took less than 10 minutes to get the full staking weight paid even if last time I staked was about 4 months ago...

Great that worked! Thanks runpaint  Smiley

For Linux users; note that downloading the wallet from Git and compiling works well..

Hi runpaint - I can't get the compiled wallet (from source) nor the one in the link you shared to connect to peers...

You can make it a "proof of action" type of promotion - with a message to be posted on social media. It probably takes time to manage/follow, but it's what's the coin would need to gain awareness/traction.

Before that, however:
  • the number of working nodes should be increased (or a new .conf file shared) - there is no point in getting new people if the wallet doesn't sync.
  • also, I don't think it's worth having the promotion without a roadmap..

Stole a few more in the market as well  Cool

Is now a good time to buy?

It's 64÷ interest rate for a little while still and it's dirt cheap; what else would be a better time if you're not looking for a quick I/O!
874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ANC] Launching AnonCoin - Prebuilt Windows binaries. Not PRE-mined. on: July 18, 2015, 10:55:36 PM
can any of the other coins be used with TOR and those other ones like ip2 etc?  is this the first coin that is specifically designed for use with this kind of thing?

1. ANC was the first to integrate I2P with a SAM bridge
2. I am not aware of other coins with native I2P integration yet
3. Any coin can be configured to use I2P or TOR manually

ANC development has been extremely slow and the original developers have left.

I now believe that Monero is the best privacy option in crypto that exists today.

Peter Todd, Greg Maxwell and other bitcoin core devs seem to be of the same opinion

No offense, but you should not abuse your Anoncoin Twitter Account for advertising Monero Coin.

And you're rather nice...

And staking is automatic; forgot to say.

When you have coins in your wallet it takes a bit more than 9 days to get your first stake. You need to launch the wallet for staking at least from time to time; it ensures you get the full staking interest and you help securing the network..

Enjoy  Cool

Is there a prediction to launch a 64 bit linux binary? I'm trying until now to compile the source code in my Linux Mint. I never got an app working through compilation.

You mean to make the PHS wallet work on Linux with a 64-bit machine?
If I can be of help in any way; I've just gone through the process...

I would be thankful if you helped me step by step.

Alright - tried to do so... I've just sent you a personal message. Hopefully it will make the trick - I can try to support you further but for the more complicated stuff you'll be better off talking to Mr Palmdetroit!

OK I managed to move my PHS QT/wallet from Windows to Linux now.
In case someone faces the same challenge starting with Linux, here is what I had to do:

  • Launch the wallet in windows, go to the console, and run the command
  • dumpprivkey <PHS public address>

  • Do this for every PHS address in the wallet and copy the private key somewhere
  • Install Linux QT and sync the blockchain, go to the console, and run the command
  • importprivkey <PHS private key>

  • Do this for every PHS private key
  • Then go to file (main QT window), backup wallet
  • For some reason the wallet was saved in the QT folder, not the .Philosopherstone one
  • Name the backup wallet.dat and move to .Philosopherstone hidden folder (needs admin permission)

That's it! Enjoy the staking Smiley

Creating so many coins out of the blue looks just like altcoin scams in the end; not good for the credibility of VTC.

Hi Palm,
I've moved to a Linux wallet but don't manage to recover my Windows wallet. I get an error message "wallet.dat corrupt: salvation failed" - do you know how i can fix that? I haven't been able to stake for a few days that's a pity..

Cheers
