I have still been unable to get mtred, rfcpool and bitp to connect using cherry picker.  I am still getting the security messages even after installing the ssl files in the java security folder.

rfcpool is closed, so you don't need to worry about that one.  Bitp.it is SMPPS so you would only use that as a backup.  MtRed is good though, so hopefully you can iron out the issues with that.

Did you try downloading Bloodred's pre-generated jssecacerts file?  Did you put it in C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\lib\security?

Also, what version of java do you have installed?  32-bit jre6 update 26 works for me.

Good luck

Thank you for your help.  I apparently have an x86 version and 64 bit so I put the certs in the x64 and we are good now.  Thank you for the help.  The community and program are great.

867  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: is bitminter safe ? on: August 17, 2011, 09:59:06 PM
My brief experience so far with bitminter is awesome.  The software is awesome and easy to use.  I remotely set it up for a friend of mine and he is able to use it and he can't do much on a pc.  So far no complaints.

The cherrypicking.jar file does not work for me.  I start the program the hourglass comes up for a few seconds and it shuts down.  I can run the program only by the start.bat.  Is this correct.  I just did the update and says the jar should be updated.
Does the resulting .jar file match the checksums in the 2nd post? If you don't have a tool to calculate checksums installed, you can use this online version: http://www.hashemall.com/
Select MD5 and compare your updated .jar file to the MD5 value in the 2nd post.

Also i just updated and I can't find settings.cfg anywhere
It won't be created automatically, if you want to change any of the parameters you can create it yourself in the cfg folder as a regular text file.

Cherrypicking.jar file does match the checksum on 2nd post using hashemall online tool and MD5 value
But it runs OK if you use the start.bat file right?  That's actually how it is supposed to work.

it runs with the start.bat correct. I thought I had missed something. Thank you.

Previous problems with software solved new issue is with mt red pool. It tells me security problems.  Which I then installed the certificates from the link in the java security folder and still not connecting.  Any other ideas.  Any help is appreciated.

I just purchased the program today and started loading in my pools.  When I change the files to use the poclbm.exe the program has issues connecting.  When I change it to use the guiminer interface it starts up the interface but won't start the pool it only tells me where is the most efficient.

Are you trying to use cherrypicker with guiminer?

You need to use this:

http://github.com/downloads/m0mchil/poclbm/poclbm_py2exe_20110709.7z

^^WARNING, THAT IS A DIRECT LINK^^

extract that to a folder.  Then go to your cherrypicker cfg folder and open up poclbm.cfg and fill in all of the details and it should work.

Thank you.  Appears to be working now.  Wish it did work with guiminer.  The interface is a little nicer.

Love the site.  Prices look good.  As soon as I build my bitcoin up enough I have my eye on a few items.

I love the software.  Really nice look to it.  Simple to use.  It makes showing my computer challenged friends easy to show how to mine.  I just set my friend up remotely from my house it was so simple.  If he can do it I think there is hope for bitcoin to make it mainstream. I will be jumping in soon I have to stay in mineco so I don't lose my shares until the block finishes.
879  Bitcoin / Pools / Mineco.in Eligibles shares Decrease while Mining? on: August 04, 2011, 02:37:58 AM
I have been processing on mineco for over 2 days straight now and I have noticed my eligible shares for reward are going down as I continue to process more.  The other thing is the account page shows almost double the amount of blocks found as opposed to ones that are eligible.  I can't figure why my shares eligible for reward would decrease.  Also guiminer shows about 25% more shares found than show on my account page.  Any thoughts.
880  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin silver 1oz custom coin... gauging demand on: July 31, 2011, 05:59:25 AM
I would be interested if the price is right in several.  Also like the idea of .999 silver and an ounce would make a nice piece.
