Does anybody know how many POW coins are in total and how many have been mined so far. It appears multipools just keep dumping...

http://www.cryptocoinrank.com/Saffroncoin

So 100% of the max supply is POW? Only 10m are mined right now, does that mean we have to endure another dump of 100million coins?....oh boy

This is not POW/POS yet. This is only a POW coin.

It is difficult to understand what you mean by "dump". Rather that will be the amount of coins in circulation. If you read the ANN or check the website, first 90 million will be mined in 20 years. The last 21 million will be exceedingly difficult to mine and would take 50-60 years more to get entirely mined out.

So you can be pretty sure that, 100 million will not be "dumped" atleast not in our lifetime.

Ok that is fair. However to the avg investor those numbers arent obvious, all we see is 111 million total coins which sticks out like a sore thumb. I think you should specify the number of coins available in the first year or two, that way there will be some rarity. Put whatever you just said in the OP also, so the avg person knows whats going on. I dont think Im the only newb that come across the OP, reads the specs, sees 111m coins and thinks thats going to be the supply in the near future..then says 'holy shit thats a lot of coins, this coin is not rare.'

Btw multipools are constantly dumping, just look at the history on bittrex. Its either that or some bot. POW supresses the true price of coins imho.

I am not aware of any multipools mining SFR. The dumps is due to one main reason that entire 10 million SFR are in circulation only on Bittrex. The other exchanges Comkort and Rockytrade are not that big. So everyone is pumping and dumping on 1 exchange. So the price is not constant and varies a lot.

We need to get on more bigger exchanges. 1 more as in Poloniex or Mintpal would do good. So the circulation of coins are distributed across more exchanges and not remain on 1 particular exchange. The price will stop varying drastically then.

Thank you Anderson.
the reason i invest in is this according to reuters: They are currently developing a merchant payment system around SaffronCoin with plans to integrate with their own network of sites and portfolio of client owned ecommerce sites.

Future plans include creation of a Crypto-Currency Exchange to trade SaffronCoin against Euros, Rupees, USD and other Currencies as well as build out a network of physical ATM's. The SFR Dev team is currently exploring development of an encrypted real-time messaging / chat system within the Multi-Tasking Wallet to connect with people and transfer coins instantly.      i see a diamond in this coin if they could make it, not gold a DIAMOND.

Yes after we finish the major developments in SFR, we along with some local lads are going to open a multi crypto currency exchange in India. There is not a single crypto exchange as such in India. We will be trading in fiat and BTC on that. The exchange will cryptoxindia.com . The development will start as soon as we implement the majority of features what the community wants.

Physical ATMs will take some time. Maybe even a year if we are lucky. We want to push the Govt. to have the first Bitcoin ATM in India. If that happens, we would also integrate SFR into it. That would make the first altcoin ATM. But that's a long shot.

May I know about the real people behind SaffronCoin ? I was checking saffroncoin.com, but did not get anything about the devs or its backers !!!

Yea we did not mention all that on the site. We are based in Bangalore. I am Roshan, the lead developer.
866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SFR] SaffronCoin First Multi Algo with X11 and Blake - NEW SFRMS on: June 28, 2014, 12:43:28 AM
Hey squid, it won't be POS only.  SFR is a multi algo coin and your right POS only will take away what SFR stands for.

There are much more imp this to discuss than POS. We can have a look at that much later.
867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SFR] SaffronCoin First Multi Algo with X11 and Blake - NEW SFRMS on: June 27, 2014, 09:36:20 AM
Thanks for the input anderson! Once we complete our active development feature, we all along with the community can have a talk and decide upon what is best for SFR moving forward.

The POOF! service should be reading for Beta launch by tomorrow. We all can have a discussion after that.
868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SFR] SaffronCoin First Multi Algo with X11 and Blake - NEW SFRMS on: June 26, 2014, 03:38:50 PM
What's changed?

I have my Antminer S1 pointed at zpool SFR (stratum+tcp://stratum.zpool.co:3004) for more than two weeks without problems, this morning the miner says the pool is dead and has switched to another coin. And yet the web page for that pool still appears normal.

Anyone know why?

I am not sure of Zpool. If there was something wrong, the admin "grotoc" would have posted it.

Till it gets back working, you could use the other pools.
869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SFR] SaffronCoin First Multi Algo with X11 and Blake - NEW SFRMS on: June 26, 2014, 01:25:33 PM
If you implement POS, is that possible to keep POW? Even if you lower the max coin.
I see some POS coin with no need opened wallet for POS to work, can you implement it like this? If you implement it of course Smiley

We will have a look at that once the majority of the community approves that.
At present that is not on our cards now.
The current thing is POOF and then merged mining with BlakeCoin and anonymity.
870  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SFR] SaffronCoin First Multi Algo with X11 and Blake - NEW SFRMS on: June 26, 2014, 01:21:43 PM
Hopefully they single dumper has dumped all.
We are on the move now.
871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SFR] SaffronCoin First Multi Algo with X11 and Blake - NEW SFRMS on: June 26, 2014, 01:15:04 PM
Dev, one question!

Should we make this coin POS?

PoW will cause dumping the coins from miners where as POS will limit this.

POOF is great.

This coin needs more exposure.

111million coins look huge coins. ("PoW supply should be around 15 mil and POS should be around 45mil")

Rarity will play a big role.

Future anonymity should be different from others, and i believe our dev is capable of doing so.

Yes we have a lot of plans over the course. We can't implement everything at once.
We are taking everything into account.
It is just the matter of time!

I can assure you together we can get this coin into the top 10 of market cap.
872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SFR] SaffronCoin First Multi Algo with X11 and Blake - NEW SFRMS on: June 26, 2014, 12:58:05 PM
why is people selling so cheap? This coin should be 2k sats min

Yesterday there was a big buy of ~4.5m coins @ 750-899 satoshi, I guess he made his profit and getting rid of the coins now or just shaking the market.. should move your buys under 700sat just in case.

edit: looks like it hit its bottom @ 760sat and going back up well fuck him hes just dumping.. I move my buys to 600.

Re-pump @800+ Wink

that sob..

The problem with Bittrex is that you can buy and sell your coins/orders to yourself creating a fake volume and fooling everyone that theres traders..

Lol yea. If we remain on Bittrex in the top 6-7 for a few more days, Mintpal could add us. Poloniex seems deaf to SFR.

Necessary to get on more exchanges so volume gets distributed.
873  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SFR] SaffronCoin First Multi Algo with X11 and Blake - NEW SFRMS on: June 26, 2014, 07:48:20 AM
The supply has already been cut down. Out of the 10 million, the first 9 million were before the hardfork. That was an inflation bug. But those adopted and held in the initial phase would have benefited.

The inflation has already been cut by 67% after the hardfork.
874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SFR] SaffronCoin First Multi Algo with X11 and Blake - NEW SFRMS on: June 26, 2014, 07:26:26 AM
Hi dev, have you contacted polo to add sfr? I still cann't find sfr on the voting list.

Oh yea mate. Many of us have requested them loads. They just seem deaf to SFR.

What amazed me is that they added Dvorakoin and not us while it launched after us and is actually a clone of SFR with some unique block random reward.

I found this from my github account where i saw a pull request from Dvorakoin.

Poloniex is at times weird at analyzing coins to include.

Will again try reaching out to them.

If you haven't please submit a request at http://poloniex.com/CoinRequest .

It is necessary to get onto bigger exchanges to distribute SFR. Everybody at present is trading the available 10 million SFR on Bittrex. That causes some brakes on the price.

someone bought 4.6 and 1.8 million saffrons?

Sorry we don't have a rich list.

SFR will be best wallet outther with POOF Smiley)

Other just used sucking TOR lol.

Yea TOR is not entirely anonymous. Also POOF! will just delete the messages automatically. So no trace of it is left anywhere. You convey your message to your recipient and you can be sure that the message cannot be stored anywhere since it auto destroys itself.
Dev is it possible you might want to cut the down supply to 1/3 . thank you

That would be unfair to those new to the coin and would benefit those who adopted it earlier. We have already cut down the inflation quite a bit with the previous hardfork. That was actually a bug that we checked.

I apologise that the Saffroncoin website saffroncoin.com will be down for a few hours. Problems with ISP.

Dev is it possible to use the same technology for anonymous transactions,  which self destroys itself, only if we want to?

Could be. Not entirely sure at present since all transactions will be written directly to the public blockchain.

But in the future we will have a look at it.
can we have the rich list, please

 Huh Huh ??
880  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SFR] SaffronCoin First Multi Algo with X11 and Blake - NEW SFRMS on: June 25, 2014, 01:52:12 PM
This is the first draft on how we are proposing POOF! the anonymous encrypted messaging service by SFRMS to be -

- You need to activate your SFR address to work with POOF! by signing a message in the wallet to verify your SFR address. It is very easy and fast to setup. This is only a one-time setup. You will then receive a unique pin to login to POOF! You need to keep this PIN safe and use it only to read your POOF messages when you re-open your wallet.

- You can then send a short message of 100 chars to any activated SFR address.

- To maintain the security level of the message, the recipient of the message should read the message within 3 minutes, otherwise the message will automatically get destroyed.

- Once the recipient opens the message, the message will self destroy itself within 15 secs (the exact amount of secs is not yet decided). This ensures that the message leaves no trace behind and is not stored anywhere.

- A user can send 2 types of messages, an unencrypted message or an encrypted message.

- If the message you are sending has sensitive information, you can choose your own key to encrypt that message. The recipient needs to know that key to decrypt that message otherwise all they would see is some junk.

It is a great way of anonymously communicating without giving any of your personal info out to the world. The only thing used is your public wallet address. This system could go on to become the most secure/anonymous messaging platform out there.

We wanted to implement a snapchat like system in the wallet. This is even more secure since Snapchat requires some of your personal info.
