861  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has this ever happened to you as a gambler? on: April 15, 2024, 08:00:15 AM
Even if all of those are huge factors that make someone to move towards addiction, most likely the very first mistake they commit are the false expectations they have out of gambling.
Gambling is a game of chance and is at best a type of entertainment. But the false image of gambling inside the brain of many common people is that it can be used to make loads of money. This is similar to stereotypes and hence needs to be broken and the reality put in front of these people.

However it is tough to stop such people when they addicted over time even if they might actually realize that they are having losses more than they win, it is too late.

They will deposit more and more and lose more, eventually ending up in debt and putting their entire family at risk. But this can be prevented very early.
The issue of gamblers starts the moment they believe they can make money from it. It may still be limited in risk in that sense if the gambler is wise to have approached it carefully, but the moment the gambler allows desperation towards the earning of money through gambling, then the main issue starts. This is why you would see gamblers losing and do not know it is the right time to quit or take a break for fresh breath to be taken. Gambling should never be done in desperation, this will only bring in emotion, and when the gambler is emotional, anything could happen. This can now be aggravated depending on the kind of mind the gambler has. If the gambler is such that has a weak mind, then anything can happen. I've seen a gambler who needed to bet just $25 in the whole gambling session but ended up wasting $1115.

This is simply because such a gambler allows emotion to rule him. He must have thought that his luck was in the next game, but before he knew it, more losses were just piling, and his eyes must have cleared when he had lost that huge amount of money with either no more money to wager anymore or a friend/concerned people near to him cautioned him before he got his mind back. This is how gambling could be so devastating if we are not careful.

This is more reason why we should be disciplined as gamblers, as it's what can help us preserve our sanity towards it. We should have those calculations, budget and management, and also have viable plans that we should never deviate from no matter the situation on the betting floor.
862  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can you be bold enough To introduce your gambling Mate To your spouse on: April 15, 2024, 07:33:16 AM
-snip-
Before I answer your question, let me try to respond to your curiosity about the whole episode. You should know that gambling is not as bad as some people take it, and at times, you may think it is a regular gambling mate but could be a gaming partner. Regardless, the wife knows his husband, and for the guy to have boldly introduced his gambling mate means that they are not irresponsible. If they were irresponsible towards gambling, it would rather be a different thing entirely and the guy would not be so bold to introduce such a person. Even if he saw him, they might have greeted casually, and nothing more, to have warranted further introducing the relationship they have together.

For the record, I know spouses who are gambling and nothing bad is happening in the marriage, and in some cases, it is the woman and not the man to surprise you. It only depends on how we engage in gambling, and if it's positive, I do not see any reason why it should be a stereotypical affair that the spouse would be ashamed of.

Quote
however, the question here is ‘can you be bold enough to introduce your gambling mate to your wife’.
Yes, but on one condition. I must be responsible in doing it and the gambling mate must be presentable. However, I do not see this coming because I am a private person which my wife knows of and appreciates so much. Such as a gambling mate would have been priorly discussed with her if there was any. For this, it would be a rude shock to her in that circumstance.
863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't make your bets when you're tired on: April 15, 2024, 05:55:07 AM
You are indeed lucky if you got it all back from a mistake that could've been the biggest regret of your life if it goes south. Well, this kind of experience will be a good lesson for us too and without it happening we may not realize that we badly need that rest first so that we can think straight.
I also had my own experience in this kind of situation where lack of sleep became an issue but it was not because of the flu or something like a sickness, my only reason was that I stayed up all night chasing my losses and then I wake up way too early just because I want to continue getting back all of it.
It's a wrong thing to do and I learned my lesson the hard way.
Many things have happened in gambling cases and you almost experience mistakes if you are unlucky, I think this incident can be a lesson for anyone that don't force yourself to gamble when you are in a condition that does not support gambling activities, fatigue is the main reason which needs to be avoided before you gamble, because you will make mistakes in setting the bet amount which can have fatal consequences and can lose your entire balance if you lose at gambling.

My friend almost made the same mistake in slot betting, but his friend warned him that he entered the bet value incorrectly because he was tired and not focused on gambling, luckily he immediately changed the bet value before he pressed the bet button, he almost lost the high bet if he lost that bet.
Luck or not, we should do the right thing at the right time, and I do not know the reason why someone would still be betting when he is tired or his current mood and psychology do not support that. What do you expect? Well, I do not pity people like this if I should be frank, gambling is not by force, so why not engage in the activity when everything is set? What if the gambler presses $2000 instead of just $20 while wagering if he has big funds in the account? The risk is too high compared to the benefits, it is better we do the right thing in this regard. I wonder how such a person will even calculate and forecast well depending on the gambling aspect we are talking about, it's certainly that kind of risk I will not be willing to take.

For me, I gamble in casinos when I want to have fun. This means that I can't have fun when I am stressed and the solution to that is to rest and cool my head off first. I can only have fun when my body is active, including being in a good mood for the gambling activity. Also, I gamble the sports for the money, to be precise, but I do this strictly and professionally (if that is the right word to use). I make sure that I do thorough research and also make comparisons online these days. That's a whole lot of work that can't be done in a hurry and surely when I stress my mind, I won't be able to do that because it takes hours of my time to get the conclusion on the entire team I like to bet. And since health is wealth, I better postpone the quest.
864  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not everyone deserves to hear of your winning in gambling. on: April 15, 2024, 02:53:07 AM
In as much as what you're saying is true, gamblers find it difficult to keep their little win to themselves. It's very difficult before you see someone win up to $1000 in gambling and people will not know. For those who are into sports betting and who do it in a betting shop, you will agree with me that before you even come to the betting office with your ticket, they already know that you've won, and even when you try to keep the win to yourself, they will tell others in the shop that someone won a certain amount in that betting shop.

I know of some fellow sports betting friends who will even be angry at you because you refused telling them you've won a bet you've previously played.  People always believe that if me A can win, that they will also win and that's one serious course of addictive gambling.
People will always want them to be celebrated, and for people like me who gamble in their house before people later find out about my win, I would have spent the money and gotten something valuable for myself from gambling. I love my privacy people don't even know that I gamble, When I am in the comfort of my house, I start making a good selection of what my games look like, and since I gamble very well, I take a lot of time when selecting and arranging my games. and from what your betting sites hear, you see a lot of people exposing their wins. If you are the kind of person who bets in a betting shop, you cannot hide your victory, and people will start disturbing you for money. When you finish giving away, they will still be the ones insulting you. And if I win, I tell them, after I have used my money, anything anyone wants to say, let them say it.
You have said it all by pointing to the fact that you are a private person, my friend, you better keep it that way. Thankfully, we have the privacy option in our gambling activities by silently opening our betting apps and doing our thing in our closet in such a way that people might not even know we gamble. If this is what you love, then always do it. And if you are such who cares about giving, you can still do that on a different volition by knowing the people in need and helping them without telling them the source of your income. They do not have to know to the point that they know what you do and be using it to insult you later like you said.

Although I do not see shame here, once you are good at gambling and earn through it, those who are even begging you for the money should be the ones burying their heads in shame and not the other way around where they insult you. For what?

Alternatively, if you are such that like to go out for gambling and are only concerned about the people you would see there and who might know you, why not change location? After all, it is not everywhere you would know people that will be disturbing you. I made this last suggestion because, at times, we can't do everything in isolation, we should mingle as well too. Or else, you might kill your social life if you think you can be doing everything privately.
865  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why they need a license if bitcon is not money? on: April 15, 2024, 02:31:28 AM
This is a true practice of scammers, they must have intended it from the beginning and they are using the cryptocurrency system to get their evil perpetrated. This is why I always tell people that I will never join them in signing up for the no-KYC casino. And even if I had to sign up for a decentralised casino, I would have thought it through for a long time and would even resolve to choose the old ones only. This will also be happening if my trusted casinos fail me, which I do not see coming for now.
I know one thing and that is scammer has no country, no community, no nation, and no religion. They are just scammer nothing else. I want to say that a lot of gambling sites who take kyc documents but they are a scammer. Think about 1xbit, 1xbet and many more.

Scammers kind of have countries, because it is easier to scam in countries where there is a weak law or it is no really enforced or where the government do not have the means to locate and prosecute people doing illicit activities on-line. In other words, scammers do not have contries, but there are some countries that tend to have scammers. It is just like that.
Lol...I was just laughing reading your post.Smiley Scammers are everywhere and I do not think there is a country of the world that doesn't have scammers. The only difference is that the level, reason and expertise of scammers there vary. For me, real scammers are faceless people, they do not just want you to see or know them because their intentions are bad from the very start of their doing. You can take a hint from the crypto projects these days where some people would plan projects like developing cryptocurrency but all to scam people, and would disappear into thin air with time. The same thing goes for some m!xing services and other exchanges where their sole intention is to scam. They will just try to gain the attention of some customers and disappear after some success. We can also say of a few in casinos, many have been swindled by these scammers, and their intention to have created the business was just to scam people by disappearing with their money after a while.

Mind you, contrary to your opinion, these scammers could reside in the most lawful countries of the world like the US and EU, it doesn't matter. All they need to do is to conceal their identities, and even if you believe you know them or where they are, you are only deceiving yourself because all that they are identified with are FAKE. But some countries with weak laws may have enough cheaters that people often called scammers, that is why it is good we know the companies we deal with. Better still, the reputation of the company matters most and this is more reason why I love true licensing apart whether weak or not, after all, they (the company) made that move out of responsibility.

Let us keep this discussion going, where would you prefer to watch your favorite team?
You have a good point and you can't blame the member of your family, focuses vary and could be altered as you guys grow and engage in life differently. If football is your priority at that time, it may not be theirs at the time, or they are just busy at the time you are watching. Also, aside from your family, I would like you to know and admit the fact that we are not wired the same way, some people could be extroverts, introverts or ambiverts, and even if you are an ambiverted person, mood matters to which side you would switch to at a particular time. All these matters to where you would prefer to watch your match.

Like myself who is an ambiverted person, most times, I love my privacy, but at times too, I love to mingle. Depending on the mood at that time and the location the match meets me, I might be watching it privately or at a bar, hotel or other nice places. But for viewing centres, heck No, I do not like the way those places are, the settings are just totally off for someone like me. This is true for at least the ones I've seen so far.
867  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin way forward - Towards $100k or $50k on: April 14, 2024, 05:42:52 PM
In last two week we have seen a fluctuation in the price of Bitcoin as at one point it looked like it will drop to $50k but quickly it rebounded back and crossed $71k once again and now it just under $70k. What do you think would be the next zone, will Bitcoin rally towards the long awaited $100k mark or dip towards $50k? I know no one can speculate or predict it accurately but just share your thoughts with any valid reasons behind it.
A lot of assumptions and speculations are going on now regarding Bitcoin, but one thing certain is that it is a bullish market in the long-term disposition. But the issue I have with the coin is the high level it is at this time that the cycle halving has not happened. Halving is the tradition that normally excites people and attracts more investors to Bitcoin. But things are playing differently these times which calls for extreme care.

Also, I will not be like the blind followers who would just be calling prices in the northward direction only, the market condition can backfire any market no matter how trusting people are towards it. This is especially possible if the immediate days' sentiment after the halving becomes negative. This could cause Bitcoin to move strongly lower, and the breach of the low/support at around $59,150 may signal the continuation of a fall that happened shortly after the ETF approval in January. This might cause a huge fall that might eventually hit the psychological level of $50,000.

However, if the level continues to survive the market and holds above it after halving, and also the market has a positive outlook, then we may see Bitcoin rising and would first hit the high/resistance level around $73,850 which is the current ATH. A break of that level will first probably hit $75,000 due to people's expectations and could cause many higher levels to be touched afterwards.
868  Economy / Gambling / Re: What are your expectations for Casino coins in this coming bull run? on: April 14, 2024, 04:51:41 PM
I do have high expectations for the RollBit token, I believe that this token will reach a new all-time high someday, but still, I will advise everyone to invest only what they can afford to lose.

The best time to have buy RLB was when it bottomed and no one was talking about this token at the time, until it made a new ATH, now the future returns won't be as huge as if you've bought at the bottom.

This is why it is good to always get into an asset before anyone is talking about it, when people are already talking about it, this means that it is already souring high and that might even be the best time to start taking your profits.

RLB token is the best casino token on my list, but still, invest only what you can afford to lose only.
Well said! What made some investors to be outstanding today is that the forgotten asset was purchased by them. Before people realised it, it had appreciated highly in their favour. This means huge money and I love to replicate this if I have the opportunity, and it is also the principle that people follow to gain more when they strike cryptocurrency at lower levels after the bearish season. Besides, no one can underestimate the RLB among the gaming tokens, it currently stands at number 224 in the crypto table based on the market capitalization. This makes it so relevant. The next gaming token to it is FUN which is at number 564, and if I must say, this is a huge distance to be candid.

This makes RLB to be a very good choice as I believe investors would think of it before thinking of other gaming tokens. Nevertheless, I now have my eyes on the Shuffle token (SHFL), it currently stands at the number 2812. But Shuffle is a serious casino, it might not be so long for it to grow pretty fast.
869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum will still be my choice this year. on: April 14, 2024, 04:16:37 PM
-snip-
Do you think I make a good choice this year or I should include BNB so that if one is delaying me in the market, I can try the other one to achieve what I want .
Not for the fact that I already witnessed what happened, but I would have advised you not to rely on Ethereum alone that time if you must deal with it. Ethereum and Bitcoin would behave almost the same way, I've always known that and that's why I've ended my purchase of them since last year. It is no longer a good investment when the price is somewhat high enough, not that you will still not gain but you should be sure that what you will gain will be little, that's my plight and discouragement. Owning to this, what is the point if there are alternatives that can still behave better? This is now evident with how Ethereum and BNB performed this year already, you should have gained more if it was BNB you opted for, or at least diversify your portfolio with the two.

Although this is always practical, but I wonder why some people do not often realise it. Well, it is another lesson now again, and I hope that you eventually go for the BNB. If you did, by now, you will be smiling to your wallet account. It hurts so well when you have a crypto asset but the alternative is the one performing, which would give the person a headache and get him frustrated.

To avoid this, at least, on average, diversifying our portfolio is the best. Even if we do not want to buy so many coins, we could limit them to either 2, 3 or 5 coins/tokens. They would still do the trick.
870  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gold vs bitcoin in a WWIII scenario on: April 14, 2024, 03:56:48 PM
My true assessment is that, since Bitcoin moved in multiples over the past few years, people believe that it is what could be compared exactly with Gold and will always perform well without any challenges. But I see it differently. Bitcoin is still finding its path to survive the test of time even though everything seems perfect, but Gold is way old and has done so well and been used for virtually anything you can think of as an asset and it survived. It is a safe-haven asset which is why it was able to overcome all odds and hurdles, especially during the time of war. For the fact that Gold is one of the common commodities that has not failed people, people/investors prefer to keep their money in it, and not fiat currencies that the war may affect hugely depending on the devastation meted on the country spending the currency during the war. After the war, the currency could have devalued so much.

But with Gold that has no certain government/country control/dependence, it remains the same, and could even be reviewed higher in price since more capital would be injected into it. If the world war happens again, we may see Gold reaching the moon indeed, especially as the population of the world is higher now, and so will the value of its liquidity and price. Well, I would have said a little same for Bitcoin but I can't because it is still young, and most importantly, it is not a safe-haven asset. It is a risk-on asset just like other major fiat currencies. It also has the limitation of internet dependency, which makes Gold even more unique during war. Because, if the war is bitting and the internet ceases, Gold can still be used to make transactions, which makes it more valuable at that time.

The two casinos you pointed out here don't even have the characteristics of such scammers I pointed to above, they might have scammed a lot of people but still they are operating. Those I pictured are worse, and are true scammers, they are are practically no where, and they can't have that high scamming intention from the beginning and still be able to function to this level of the casinos you called. These scammers are big-term scammers, they are faceless, have no address, phone number, or nothing, they are just anonymous in everything and have planned it from the begining. But still, they come as a casino and people are gullibly registering, sending their details/data and sending their money to them.

Who won't know such are there all for the money they want to steal/scam? This is also what I fear most with the no-KYC casinos, they can easily hide under this to steal people's money and even data. Also, I've always said that asking for KYC is not a certain means to trust you, one should still do the thorough investigations. Howveer, the risk of dealing with a no-KYC casino is higher than that of dealing with the KYC casinos, because all what the no-KYC casinos claims it is may not be true since they are answerable to no one. But for the KYC casino that means business, it will easily get them exposed if they falsify their infomation.
872  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Claw Machines: a category of gambling? on: April 14, 2024, 03:19:09 AM
-snip-
Do you consider this a category of gambling game?
Yes, I consider this as a gambling game but not the typical one. For the fact that you use your money to play it, and you are playing for the purpose of what it will give you in return, then you are taking a risk for something which is gambling. This is the kind that little children can even participate in as well, and as a matter of fact, they are doing it. This may just be when they and their parents visit such a mall with such a facility, they may go there, put their coin and try their luck. It is so joyful to these children if they win something in this arrangement, which is why I can term it as light gambling with a possible little attachment. It's a way to have extra fun at malls aside from shopping.

Quote
What are the chances on long run?
While playing this kind of light game, do not create much importance to it than for the fun for the moment. And as for me, I see the chance here to be 50/50. You are just trying your luck, but in a light way, nothing is to be taken seriously here. It is not a place where you can hit that Jackpot.

Quote
Skills matter, or do you have to be lucky, nevertheless?
It's practical my friend, no skills will help you win more, you only have to rely on luck. Just like casinos, the system of this machine has been structured in a certain way, it is only luck that will deliver the winning in this regard.
873  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling by financial dependents. on: April 14, 2024, 02:48:07 AM
Gambling in front of children is really bad. After growing up the bad tendency of gambling will fall into them. If the environment is bad the family does not have to do anything for the development of the children. But with good environment comes bad environment. Not all environments are the same Children need to be engaged in natural environments to keep them away from gambling tendencies.
We have the influence that we need and letting our guards down will not favour anyone of us. We have children, we should give them the best care and treatment and not treat them as if they're mature, when we talk about mature it simply means showing them the basic necessities of life and struggle. Never raise up a child in such an unconducive environment where gambling is daily routine. We know how fast and adaptable children can be, they learn with the slightest chance they're seen.
But it is a pity that some parents do not care about this, some are just insensitive to the future gambling influence on their children, and they live their lives anyhow. Such parents need to still be under their parents, but it is unfortunate their children are now looking up to them. At times, if one parent cares, the other may not care, nevertheless, the children can be using the good guide of the other who cares to overlook what the one that doesn't care is doing. You can imagine, that some children would have to go through all that, but this is still not an automatic reason for them to do adult things like gambling at an early age, some children are naturally cultured.

Most of the children I know who are victims of this do not follow the path of their parent(s), especially if they know what the parent(s) is doing is not good. Also, even for the fact that the parent(s) are doing that, they strictly forbid their children to do it, which means they know that what they are doing is not good. But it is best that parents avoid this entirely for the best interest of their children. Also, in case the environment they live in is not encouraging enough to avoid this, they should be strict and thorough in guiding their children on gambling and let them fully know the evil in it when they expose themselves to it at such an early age in order to scare them.
874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Get one btc right away or 5 btc with a bet? on: April 14, 2024, 02:25:32 AM
It's not always easy to make the right decisions. Are you a gambler? If you're offered 1 btc without playing or 5 btc by playing (with a chance of 2 to 1). What do you do?

you alredy know the logical way. So, my recomendation - listen to your heart’s whispers and let Lady Luck be your guide. Either way, let the thrill of the choice fill you with excitement. It’s not just a gamble, it’s a leap into a universe of what-ifs and might-bes. Go where the magic pulls you!  Wink
Lady luck? Who is that if I may ask? We better not deceive ourselves, no one knows the lady luck you are referring to, that is why the gambler may choose rightly or wrongly in this regard, the risk is too high. This is like you are gambling within gambling itself, you are just on your own here. There is nothing magical here as well unless you are a magician or a seer who knows the right outcome in the spirit realm to choose rightly in the physical realm. But if you are not, I do not encourage anyone to take any guesses on this, losing a whole 1 BTC due to a useless guess will be hurtful. Because the chance of losing the money is unreasonably high. I would rather walk away with the money and call it a day, but rather do a reasonable business/investment with the money that sooner or later would yield good income for me.
875  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does gambling excites you ? on: April 14, 2024, 02:10:46 AM
Sometimes gambling can be very exciting especially when you have warm multiple times, despite your losses it is also exciting because whenever you remember your winning, you also feel better One of the most interesting part of it is the prediction when you are setting up your bed, you are always calm even when you are done setting up your bets you feel like OK you have done well, that’s a good news. We actually come out some people play more than the Bet at the same time expecting to win at least one or two or to cover up the order losses gambling can be really exciting sometimes and also  make you sad.
Gambling is not for the weak, before proceeding to gamble, we already know what's at stake and was willing to take this drastic harsh step though it might affects us in some ways but most of them are focused on relevant streak winnings,  we applying for constant support. Gambling will only bring smiles on my face whenever I get touch with my gigantic earnings and also having the confident actions of winning for my games.
And to get to that level of your gigantic winning, you must be willing to wager gigantically and also risk gigantically with the option you go for. This way, you will get to be persistent about the risks taking because gambling is not what we can control but just rely on luck, and before the fateful day of luck would come, one has to be persistent about the risk-taking. By this, I am certain that you would have wasted enough money, which I can only believe is necessary for you to achieve your gambling big goal. However, all I narrated is for those who are expecting that big miracle like yourself, it is actually possible but you must be an aggressive risk taker at the same time.

This is why advise you to perish that thought, or else, you might hurt yourself a lot before it happens, unless you are such that just wish for that Jackpot but did not make any moves to actualise it. There is nothing as good as taking gambling easy, that's the way we can enjoy it, and the moment we start attributing the importance of making money and also making it big to it, the more it becomes increasingly boring and challenging for us. So, to avoid wasting money, let us take it easy and zero our minds about it, which can encourage us to wager moderately and steadily, and one day, who knows, that fateful lucky day may come without pushing ourselves too hard.

they will be welcome to enter even if they are not experienced. Inexperienced gamblers can learn from their first experiences when gambling to develop themselves into professional gamblers and to avoid making the same mistakes in the future and increase their effectiveness in gambling.
Gambling is 90% luck and 10% skill, which is why even a newbie Gambler can come to a casino today and win a huge sum of money someone who has been gambling for 10yrs had never won, so as such, that alone should tell us that either experience or inexperienced is not the only factor to determine success in gambling, as anybody is likely to be successful, inasmuch as they are willing to take the risk.
If I go by the way you narrated gambling here, then I will not bother myself to think of the concluding part you wrote, because what is the arithmetic that will make the gambling you claimed is 90% luck-dependent to hand you success when it is obvious that you can't control luck? This will be a tough task indeed. But in my own view, I like gambling to be reviewed as luck is 100% needed in some aspects of gambling like when we play in the casinos, because anything skilful you know here is invalid to hand you the winning since it basically works on some algorithms that weren't planned to favour you easily.

But surely, when it is sports betting, it is 50/50, which means that you have to rely on 50% luck and 50% skills, and not that all gambling will be 90% reliant on luck. I do not agree with that. This calls for us to choose what we play carefully especially if we are gambling for the money. Experience will never help us in a certain aspect of gambling no matter how we try. It is smartness in choosing and playing that will be able to help.

What is your opinion towards my research that online casino gambling has more of possesed players who stakes to make profits while the land base gambling is more of players who stakes for funs?
Well, for me, it depends on your definition of land-based casinos because it is not all of them that have those features and functions that will be so different from the online casinos to warrant us calling them better when it comes to entertainment/fun which are the Extras needed in gambling. In my country, and particularly in the city where I am now, you will hardly see a street where you won't see at least 3 physical casinos. But these casinos are just small structures, they serve as alternatives for those who do not have access to online casinos for one reason or the other since these casinos also have their presence online. It's just a means to bring them closer to people.

There are no Extras here, nothing, it is almost the same experience as that of online casinos. You will go there, give the agent your preference/choice, the agent will then input it, collect the money from you and you wait for the result or you come back for the result as the case may be. How boring is that? Why not do it at home at your convenience yourself?

This is of course different from some big physical casinos where you will get virtually everything called Entertainment. But such casinos are not just located anyhow. You will hardly find them in every place to warrant people going there all the time to have fun and gain that Extras needed in the casino. There is no way most people will not opt for online casinos since they are the closest to them when most of the small physical ones can't offer the Extras needed.
878  Other / Off-topic / Re: How can we help beginners not to get addicted on: April 13, 2024, 07:11:12 PM
The reason why I'm not addicted to gambling is because even before I started to play gambling I already understand gambling and its addiction, and my understanding has helped me on how to follow up gambling. Sometimes I ask myself why do people get addicted to gambling, is it because they have no understanding or awareness about the addiction of gamble.

I think majority of people who are addicted to gambling is because they do not understand gambling as beginners, the rules and the side effects of playing gambling excessively.

I think if gambling companies can help to giving beginners to understand gambling and addiction it will help and reduce the rate at which people get addicted o gambling, I mean good lesson for people to get understanding.  Or do gambling companies benefit from gamblers who are addicted, which the awareness of getting addicted can affect their business?.
Indeed, one's effort to participate in gambling should always be appreciated. Gambling is primarily for entertainment. People who love entertainment and like to be entertained love to gamble but some people get addicted to this entertainment game. Those who find this game too easy and a means of earning money become more addicted. It completely destroys life. I would like to tell every new and old gambler that gambling should be used as entertainment, not as a means of making money and that a fixed budget of income should be used in gambling so that if it is lost there is no pain in oneself. A person will never become addicted to gambling if he does not develop a plan in his mind after losing.
After newbies get involved in gambling, their interest in gambling increases. They also think far-fetched about gambling. At some point gambling starts to be thought of as a money making scheme which at some point leads to addiction. While old gamblers can control themselves, it is difficult for beginners to control. As long as a new gambler adequate money, they plan gambling excessively. A few points I would suggest to beginners are: A gambler must set his limits. Avoid gambling beyond a certain period of time. Gambling should be removed from consideration as a source of income. Before gambling a gambler should limit his gambling area. If a gambler can do these things carefully then he will be able to do responsible gambling.
Gambling is not child's play but the issue is that people often take it lightly, and hence the reason for the ugly experiences most times. "Forewarned is forearmed," which makes education about gambling priceless, but it's unfortunate that most gamblers take this for granted and they pay dearly for it. If beginners know of the issues ahead of them in gambling, they will plan better about it to halt the issue and will never be desperate towards the money in gambling not to mention of being addicted to it. They would have known the issues of some gamblers in the past and used their bitter experience to avoid issues for themselves. But gamblers often start without any knowledge, and if they are not naturally cautious and wise, there is no way the issue will not be pronounced against them.

We should continue to be better gamblers whether we are new or old, it is never too late. Gambling has to be approached politely and responsibly. We should use the right amount of money and never allow desperation for the money to affect us. And if we need money indeed, gambling is not the right door to knock on, and I must say it is one of the reasons people often fail through it when they turn to it for the money. Gamblers must also acknowledge that it is a place where luck has a very high stake, so it is not an automatic way of making money like businesses and investments. Due to this, the protection of the account of the gambler and their psychology are so important among others. These keeps gamblers going if their expectations are not fast coming to light.

How can one draw a line between having fun and getting addicted since they occurr in the same process?
We all gamble but our purpose and mindsets towards gambling vary, so it is this mindset and purpose that determine our motives for gambling and what we derive from it as well. If you want fun in gambling, there is a way you approach it and the losses incurred in it will not be hurtful, especially if you are such that is wise enough to plan the risk effectively. Those seeking fun in gambling might just gamble about $3 in the whole session, so by virtue of this small amount, they are not hurt and the losses may not be an issue. This may even be viewed as a means to access the funfilled service directly.

I do this a lot and it is fun indeed. But if it is about the money and the money is not coming forth when the gambler is always losing, this can't be funny and such a gambler will surely frown his face at the situation. However, with both the fun and money-making in gambling, addiction may occur. whereas, many mistake the addiction for fun derivation, but in practice, it may happen if you make gambling your hobby and you don't make any effort to be cautious about it or control it. Of course, it will control you.

Would education on gambling side effect help some people nor to get too engaged in it despite the thrilling experience it can offer?

Education about gambling is not to scare people away in my opinion but to let them know the impending danger of not gambling rightly. This education is even advisable so that the gambler knows what to face ahead and plans towards it. If many had been educated about gambling beforehand, they might have not been victims the way they are today. They would have been more cautious and believed that it is not the place to seek desperate money like many do which leads to desperation and addiction that are frustrating.

OP, if you are in it to make money from gambling and you think gambling will make you rich or change your lifestyle then you can't stop yourself from gambling. If you think you can stop yourself from gambling but you can't control it, don't be disappointed. You can never call this situation a disorder rather it will be a challenge for you. You first try to stop yourself from gambling slowly and then you will see that you have been able to stop yourself from gambling for a long time. If you are still unable to abstain then you can consult a psychologist and you can do family rehabilitation as well as meditation if needed.
What the OP wrote that made me so curious is the Spirit part, how is that even possible? Well, our countries vary, and so do our traditions and beliefs, but still, it will be nice if we stick to the physical realm so that we do not relate what is not there as though there. Well, I will not deny that I'd thought about that in trading many times too until I found the right means of doing it better, nothing is spiritual here. This is why I would like to encourage anyone going through a tough time in gambling to also look at the two important points, which are; 1. They need to locate the rightful skills that will be strong enough to deliver the best to them, and 2. Access gambling as what it is.

In the first part, one can go for the best learning and get to keep their trading psychology intact and also manage their trading portfolio. These are doable and such that are within their power. So, they should be done rightly even as they are cautious about gambling. But for the second part, it might be beyond the limit of the gambler most times. For accepting gambling as it is, we can't eliminate the fact that luck is important here. Can we control luck? That's not possible, that is one of what we accept as a fact but use management to cover for some excess in case the luck is not forthcoming as expected.
