861  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: January 23, 2024, 02:56:30 AM
I think Patriotism is not an issue for now. But they have lost the quality of their players. I don't know why that happened. Is it because there is no support from the Brazilian government for their football? To be honest, I used to know several clubs in Brazil such as Flamengo, Santos, Internacional and Sao Paolo. That's because they often appear in the inter-club world cup. And that can prove the quality of the Brazilian national team because I'm sure many of the players in the Brazilian league are Brazilian players because it seems impossible for European star players to decide to play in the Brazilian league.
Soccer is one of the most popular practices in Brazil. The government actually uses it on their favour by promoting the sport and investing on it. In 2014's brazilian World Cup, the government invested above 30 billion reais (about 6$ billion dollars) in infrastructure, services, support and other expenses for the international event execution. That is a lot of money, especially when considering the precariety the country faces in health sector.

Moreover, soccer is the main activity practiced since an early age at schools, at home and at spare time of the children. At gym's lessons, students mostly play soccer all the time... So as you can see there is huge investment and encouragement to the activity. To be a successful player is the dream of most young male children around the country.

How to explain the bad performance, then? Well, I think it has something to do with exccess of individuality. Everyone wants to be the most shining star in the sky, so they don't play collectively anymore, as a team is supposed to work, where each player knows its functions and stick to it, besides the focus of the players not being entirely on their jobs anymore, as there are tons of distractions calling for them outside the fields. Fame, parties, women...

For players who usually have come from the bottom classes of society, such distractions are highly tempting and might be fatal. It's a new world they belong, which they have never had access before. So they want to enjoy it the maximum as possible, and the focus on the career gets compromised.
862  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: January 22, 2024, 05:57:17 PM
On the other hand, in the Copa America Brazil is in group D with Colombia, Paraguay and another person is still waiting for the qualifying results, in my opinion it is a tough group, but I am sure Brazil can qualify with the status of group winners.
Let's see how Brazil is going to perform on Copa America, so we can have a better understanding on what we can expect from the national team on the World Cup of 2026. Personally, I don't think they have great chances to impress anymore, like they used to do during the early 2000's and 90's decade. The new generation of players haven't been following the same pattern of the old ones which brought great achievements for Brazilian soccer.

It seems a long before players were more concerned about patriotism, while now they seek for fame, money, parties, women and trouble with the justice... So, all these aspects reflect on their final performance inside the fields. The commitment isn't the same when compared to players from another nations, which are heavily focused in bringing the title to their people.
863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you holding any gaming based altcoins? on: January 22, 2024, 05:20:22 PM
Thousands of altcoins are in the crypto market. There are lots of catageoy and gaming catageoy is one of these. There are some popular altcoins like Immutable, Render, The Sandbox, Axie Infinity are belongs to gaming catageoy and those coins are working to improve gaming industry. They were performed good in previous bull run. So many people showing interest with them. So do you have any gaming altcoin what you are holding or any plan to holding altcoins from gaming catageoy?
I still hold some SLP from Axie Infinity. I have about 3000 of them, but they worth dust right now ($0.003007), although they already priced 0,34$ in the past. It was so good... The problem is that supply being dropped on the market is just too high compared to the demand these tokens have. So the price is only going to decrease on long term, besides the hype factor which is also temporary. So if you want to make profit from these gaming tokens, you have to sell them constantly during the hype and exchange profits into Bitcoin for long term purposes. Don't hold them for too long.
864  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you blame someone for your gambling losses? on: January 22, 2024, 04:54:23 PM
There's a time that gamblers could handle their emotions after losing in the casino, but of course after going home when the wife or family finds out that he lost a lot of money, of course their reactions would be mad and angry to the gambler which is there's a tendency for them to be triggered and lose control of their emotion where they would put the blame to others, worst is they would be violent or verbal abuse. A responsible gambler are ready for this kind of scenarios where you don't only have to control your self when playing gambling but also before and after since you know the risk of engaging in gambling. If there's someone to blame it would be yourself cause your the one who started it in the first place.
It's normal the wife of a gambler will get mad on him after he has lost a considerable sum of money betting which was going to be used for family's expenses. The gambler should be humble, apologise with his wife and promise it's not going to happen again. But if he tries to strike back with accusations and blaming someone or something else for his addicted gambling behavior, then I think this person isn't just an addicted individual, but also a bad character one. Nowadays everyone talks about narcissism, as the characteristic of someone who always think to be right on their actions, while blaming another factors for the faced failures, but I prefer to say bad character. Even addicted people can be humble to accept they are commiting mistakes and prejudicing people around, but a narcissism can't.

So I think the best this wife can do is to stay away from the husband, because it's not likely he is going to change, as the first requirement to change is to accept his flaws. Something he is not willing to do...
865  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your Roller Coaster feeling When You Gambling on: January 22, 2024, 04:27:40 PM
An hour before going to a casino?
Feeling good, excited and hopeful, like a child ready to play his videogame.

After logging in and pulling out the games you are about to play?
Start imagining positive outcomes for the games I'm about to play.

While playing?
Then it depends what is happening while I'm playing. If the results are being profitable to me, I feel like my expectations are being fulfilled, so I already begin to tell myself I should quit anytime soon, before my luck changes for the worst. On the other hand, if I'm losing, I will start thinking "what a bad day to gamble...", so I lose my initial excitement, because it's not my lucky day.

After you experience successive losses?
I may feel inclined to recover losses, but that is dangerous, as the game has already ceased being funny to be a duty. I have to make some effort to convince myself it's time to leave, but I'm pretty confident I can do this, as I've already done in the past successfully.

After you won successively?
When I win, it's easier to leave the game than when losing, to say the truth. So that is what I would do, without any doubts. After winning successively, it's time to start thinking about how to use the prize in benefical ways.

After you log out whether you win or lose?
After losing, it's hard to not think about the loss after logging out. But inevitably after few days or a week I'm already fine about it. So I focus myself on another tasks and activities, giving a long break from gambling in order to recover myself financially. If I win, I will probably feel encouraged to come back playing sooner...
866  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: While placing bet what comes your mind on: January 22, 2024, 04:15:18 PM
When I initiate my gambling session, what comes to my mind is each step of the plan I already had in mind before I started playing. So I execute the plan, and scheduled. If I win, my mind tells me to stop, because I have already reached the profit I was dreaming about when I planned my gambling game. However, if I lose, then it's a little more tricky, because there is an inner conflict inside my mind, like those small angel and devil on each side of your ears, telling you to stop and the other telling you to continue, respectively.

I confess it's not so easy to stop when this happens, because you never want to swallow a defeat to the casino. So what comes to my mind are new possible strategies and plans to continue playing and recovering the loss money. Since this kind of thought is nothing new to me, I already have some experience calming emotions down and taking control of my mind, hearing the advices of the small angel, instead of the devil one. If the same happens to you, don't desperate yourself. Remain conscious to make a rational decision. Don't let your mind take control of you and you should be fine.
867  Economy / Economics / Re: The world's logic favours income makers, not the savers on: January 21, 2024, 09:50:14 PM
It looks like most people prefer to save money for longer periods of time than one month before investing what they have accumulated, mainly due to emergencies reasons. That is understandable, but on this matter I still prefer to not wait for too long, especially now that we are near to a potential increasement in Bitcoin price, so every progress you can make on your portfolio for now, more profit you are going to make soon. It's like 'once in a life' opportunity which shouldn't be wasted.

Emergencies might happen, indeed, but we also have to analyze the current circumstances and events which are going to happen soon and how benefical they could be to us and regards more efficient preparations for future possible emergencies. Does it sound like irresponsibility? Maybe... But I can't see my money losing price idle 6 months or 1 year at the bank. For me, the real emergency here is to exchange it into something which has a real value as soon as possible...
868  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why they need a license if bitcon is not money? on: January 21, 2024, 09:35:52 PM
Why casinos have license even though bitcoin is not money? Because the casinos pay taxes, have employees that work legally. Imho these are two main reasons why there is a license. There might be a possibility, that license is only needed for reputation, for casino to show users they are not going to scam.
To operate legally always give the companies wider access to the gambling industry. It allows them to take advantage of the full potential of the industry, as legalized casinos can legally work in more territories around the world, so gamblers feel encouraged to play on them, since there is a considerable portion of players who avoid unregulated casinos not exactly due to reputation reasons, but to avoid issues with their local regulators.

Legal casinos can advertise themselves freely without fear of retaliation, and gamblers can play on them without fear of retaliation as well. If licenses weren't important, there wouldn't be so many crypto casinos going for them. For people in this forum it doesn't look good, but the reality is that we aren't on the shoes of the people who run casinos. We don't know their necessities, obstacles, struggles and why they do this or that, but I guess if it were possible to remain unregulated on this niche of the market, they would be until nowadays.

Unfortunatelly, crypto industry has been changing along the years, becoming more and more regulated each new day, and that is a reality we have to cope with.
869  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your state on mind if your son stole your money to gamble? on: January 21, 2024, 09:12:32 PM
My friends aunty called him on the call while we were conversing today, and  she was complaining about how her son has withdrawn #20,000 approximately $15 from her account through mobile transfer to play bet and he lost it all.
She complained bitterly and pitifully because she struggled to safe such amount of money.
First of all, her son shouldn't have access to her banking account. If he went through it using her mobile device, it means he knew her password or it was configured to login automatically. Sorry, but it's her fault as well for being so careless with her mobile device and banking account. Imagine if it was a thief, instead of her son to take the device (after all, not that it makes much difference at all... Grin). I think the damage would be much superior than 15$...

Now, the mum is calling on everyone she could to intervene, discipline the child and force him to provide the money in any means he can without the concern of how he could refund the money.
Well, of course she is right by disciplining the son for his wrongdoing, however, to order him to refund her through any means can put this young into more trouble... He can seek for money though illegal activities, and it can introduce him to the criminal world. I guess the right approach would be the mother to find a work his son could execute and put him to work there until earning the 15$ back. The point is that she can't say to her son to get the money back without giving further guidance on how to do this correctly.

Question: would she be so disheartened and mad as this if the son had won the bet on a multi million price?
Dear fellows, let's assume you are the mom, what would be your state of mind on this context?
I believe she wouldn't be mad on him in that case, as it would have been a very fortunate surprise for the whole family. But at same time, she would have to discipline him in every cases. If I were the mother, I would grab the whole prize and invest it for the future of my son. By there, the money would remain untouchable by him as punishment for the theft.
870  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would it be like owning a Bitcoin in 2024? on: January 21, 2024, 09:01:34 PM
So what is your take about this, would you advise on owning Bitcoin in 2024 or do you see it as a total risk?
Owning Bitcoin is one of the best things you can do in 2024. The market, adopters and analysts in general are pretty confident and optimitisc Bitcoin will get more valuable between 2024 and 2025, mainly due to halving event which is probably going to take place in next April. Of course there are risks involved, because this is a high volatile investment, with huge upsides and downsides, although what I keep in mind if that Bitcoin has never disappointed us on long run, taking its history into consideration since the beginning, so I feel secure to advise people to purchase as much as they can right now.

Although the risks are real, in my opinion they totally worth the potential rewards you can get from it. It's not a dumb risk like investing in altcoins, ponzi schemes or doing illegal stuff which will put your physical integrity in risk for money... Bitcoin is something else, so don't waste the opportunity you have in your hands to join the train of next bull season. Personally, I'm expecting at least 50% profitability over investments being made at this moment, and I suppose it's a conservative prediction yet.
871  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Patience can help alot on: January 21, 2024, 08:33:08 PM
Patience is one of the most important traits in gambling, because it will prevent you from desperating yourself on the hard moments of your gambling session. Impatient people tend to do desperate moves, like going further into chasing losses because they can't accept the fact to have lost money, so impatient they are, the desire to recover the money immediately is overwhelming, while a patient person would simple stay calm and conclude it's better to recover that sum of money lost through another ways, which don't involve gambling practice.

Patient people can trace long term goals and go for them, step by step, while impatient people are immediatist and want everything for yesterday. Furthermore, it worths mentioning impatience is heavily related to anxiety, what is also seen as a common characteristic among addicted gamblers. Therefore, I conclude saying patience not only can help a lot, but also is a decisive factor which gamblers should develop inside themselves in order to turn their whole experience with gambling more enjoyable, besides acquiring higher life quality as well.
872  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rich, average or poor. Who loses more? on: January 21, 2024, 08:08:42 PM
Although the wealthiest may lose more money, the relative impact on the poor is more discouraging. Poor gamblers risk more than money—they jeopardize their livelihood. This goes beyond numbers to the personal cost of gambling losses.
Yes, proportionally to their total income, poors are risking more money than the rich in gambling, therefore the negative impact in much worse on their finances on long run. However, I believe riches tend to maintain gambling as a hobby for longer periods of time than poor people. A rich gambler can play in a frequent basis for his whole life, while a poor gambler may have to stop playing at some point in order to avoid the negative impacts over his finances.

As regards gambling, I support responsible, informed decision-making. Tell individuals about the risks and how to gamble properly. Finding a balance between game excitement and potential consequences is key. In an ideal world, we'd all recognize the difference between a harmless flutter and a dangerous addiction.
I agree with you. Tell people they don't have to completely get rid of a practice, rather they just need to slow down a little bit. Instead of buying a lottery ticket every week, buy it once every two weeks or once a month. Decrease the frequency they spend money with gambling and they may still be able to bet without compromising their lives entirely. Who knows, maybe by playing once in a while they can still hit the jackpot and win a considerable sum of money which will help a lot their families. I believe that is how we can be responsible in our practices, while not being extremists.
873  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do i handle my first gambling experience on: January 21, 2024, 07:39:47 PM
How do I prepare myself for my first gambling experience?
Set a limited budget to gamble, which shouldn't involve money you can't afford to lose. Only use money you would use for entertainment purposes. Keep your funds destined to basic expenses and emergencies apart. Never go beyond that initial budget.

What are the things I should expect as a first time gambler?
You can expect to have a fresh experience which might excite you a lot! That is why you should be careful with your emotions and impulses. However, you should expect gambling to be a pleasant activity where you have chance of growing your money, although you must be aware the chances are against you on long term, what means it's not intended to be a reliable method to make extra income. It's not a side hustle, neither a life changer.

How do we react to my first gambling results be it winning or lose?
React quitting the game, once your budget is gone, or once you made some profit. Those are the only two alternatives you have being rational and seeking for a healthy experience in gambling. Don't give too much space to your imagination thinking about another decisions which go beyond those two. That will be dangerous for you.
874  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: January 21, 2024, 07:32:48 PM
Is there proof of funds or addresses we know are own by this great website Freebitco?
Concerning prove of address, I don't think there is any of such, atleast, FreeBitco have never announced any of such to the public.
And concerning addresses we know to belong to FreeBitco, I in particular have no idea of such, but I guess it won't be too hard to find if we should begin looking for that, and besides, I believe there are some of us here who must already have such address(es) handy, they can comment if they actually do have, but for me, I don't think I've ever withdrawn money from FreeBitco, so, I do not have any of their hot wallet addresses handy at the moment.

But by the way, I am curios to know why you are asking about this? For I am very sure that there is no casino that have a prove of addresses public, what exactly do you need this information for?
We only know our personal deposit addresses to freebitco.in. Of course they must be linked to a major wallet, so it must be possible to reach it through following the trace of your personal address.

He must be asking about it, because knowing this information means a 'proof of funds' the platform really holds an amount of money compatible with the size of their business. If they have low sums of money on their address, it's not a good signal for users. To have a big wallet is a good indicator the business is doing well. Moreover, by following the movements of the wallet (deposits and withdrawals), users have a better understanding how the platform is doing in real time.

Probably you have already seen on social media crypto enthusiasts warning when a crypto platform or a whale have moved large funds at once. It usually means something is going to happen which will affect the whole ecosystem or the users of a platform in particular.
875  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Increased Gambling Risk for the Younger Generation on: January 20, 2024, 08:14:52 PM
Gambling has reached a point where it's impossible to be forbidden, exactly due to the accessibility factor, which makes gambling available to everyone at the reach of their fingers at a smartphone device. Naturally, younger generations are the most affected ones, because they are the individuals who make use of such devices and internet for the longest periods of time, besides the fact they are still unexperienced people, so they are prone into absorving what the world has to offer them, without much critical thinking.

Since you can't forbid gambling, the doubts arise regards how to deal with this issue then. I believe the best approach is a positive, propositional and frank conversation. Explaining how gambling works, why it's not profitable on long run, how to gamble responsively, what the correct reasons to gamble are, and so on... And if the young is too wishful, then go gambling with him, but guide the whole process. Set up a limited bankroll, have some fun and once you are over, just tell him it's time to stop. At same time, show him the consequences of not stopping on the right time.

Stay vigilant and attentive to the young's behavior right after he was introduced to gambling. Check how he is going to act from that moment on. Give him space and freedom to act, but not neglect him, as he is still learning and acquiring new experiences. We never know how these experiences are going to affect him and his future decisions, so it's a sensible moment.

If the young gets out of control, despite all the guidance and care received, the next step is to seek for professional treatment, although the chances of that happening are really low if this individual comes from a functional lair which gave him all the support mentioned above.
876  Economy / Economics / Re: Imagine African countries using Bitcoin to pay salaries, on: January 20, 2024, 07:53:30 PM
With the services of some crypto currency payroll agencies  like Bitwage, papaya global, ontop,  which will make it possible for the government to pay their workers in Bitcoin or other crypto currencies and can be sent  into their digital wallet,
It's hard for governments to implement this, because they would have to purchase Bitcoin in order to pay their employees through cryptocurrency. And then there is an issue on this process, due to the possibility of purchasing Bitcoin for an expensive price, and then on the moment they are going to execute the payments the digital currency is devalued... Then the government would face deep losses which would impact the national economy negatively.

Maybe they could create some terms where payments in Bitcoin would be only allowed when the current market prices surpass the prices they purchased Bitcoin for. This way they would never be in loss when paying their employees.

Now, about middleman payment services, I don't think it would be necessary to adopt one or another agency. The government just needs a personal digital wallet to send BTC directly to employees' wallets, like in a P2P transaction. This way the whole process is much simpler, cheaper and safer. Simpler, because it doesn't need a third party service to happen; cheaper, because exchanges' fees are abusive sometimes; safer, because it's dangerous to let your coins idle on someone else's hands, as we have seen so many scams and hacks happening along the years in crypto industry.
877  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: January 20, 2024, 07:33:12 PM
I am thinking again now to start investing a bit in here as I have been losing a lot in gambling, rather than losing every week if I had invested just 30% of the money I have lost there last year I would have near 500.000 FUN in here and also good amounts of Bitcoin in here.
Restart your investments a little bit every week. It's never too late to do this. You have to break the cycle of gambling losses you have been into. Take advantage of the fact the year is just starting and even if just symbolically, it represents a new beginning, a chance of doing things in a different and better way than you did on the previous old year. It's a time of rebirth, renewal of hopes and expectations.

Just like the Fenix reborn from ashes, you can be reborn in this year of 2024 from the losses you faced in gambling. I advise you to mainly focus in BTC, and regards FUN try to reach the 12,500 FUN mark. That should be enough, so you can take maximum advantage of Bitcoin in the next bull run, focusing the biggest portion of your investments on it, although I suppose you already have some decent number of FUN in your portfolio, as you have been here for a long time, right?
878  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The worst situation you're in that you regret that you learn about gambling on: January 20, 2024, 07:14:14 PM
What's a similar case that you're in that made you regret that you learned gambling?

Your contribution is appreciated.
Personally, it has never happened to me, neither involving people I know. I just have heared about stories of other people who I didn't meet personally, but that had end very tragically, due to them not repaying the money they borrowed from loan sharks. That is why we don't recommend anyone borrowing money to gamble, because the outcomes can be devastating for gamblers, making them unable to repay the debt later. The sole decision of holding money which isn't yours is already risky enough and should be disconsidered if you are suffering from compulsive tendencies.

Unfortunatelly in the story you shared, the friend didn't know his fellow was a gambler, therefore he trusted money to him. If it were me, I don't know if I would forgive the gambler fellow, because he should have warned he wasn't comfortable to hold the funds, due to his gambling addiction. Someone who knows to be an addicted has a moral obligation of warning others about their addiction, when they identify they can harm those people somehow.
879  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paying house rent with bitcoin is it appropriate? on: January 19, 2024, 10:17:24 PM
Paying for a house with bitcoin sounds to me a mistake or lack of financial knowledge. Bitcoin is better than Fiat. Bitcoin increases in value and fiat faces inflation. Why then would one spend Bitcoin instead of fiat on a house rent which may expire in few years?
You have to take into consideration that the person may already be a Bitcoin investor for a long time, so he isn't purchasing Bitcoin to buy or rent a house. He already has Bitcoin and will use it as currency. Strange would be to have BTCs and exchange them into fiat to purchase or rent a house, because it would involve extra costs with transactions and exchanging fees. Unfortunatelly, due to not having many offers of houses for sale through BTC payment method, that is what Bitcoin investors are forced to do in order to achieve the dream of the self-owned house, or even to pay for a rent.

Bitcoin is available to be used for everything fiat is used for. There isn't any contraindications. If you can hold Bitcoin for future gains, good for you, but some people have to use their coins in order to pay for a living, food, bills and so on... For many young people, renting a house is necessary, especially when studying and working far from their families.

Accommodating the Bitcoin can birth the person more money to pay his next house rent.
If you can buy the house, it's great. However, not everyone has enough money to do so, therefore renting might be their only alternative for now.
880  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: January 19, 2024, 09:52:32 PM
what is the line that separates addicion from obsession?
that is a theme that I'm deeply interested in.
I believe addiction is more related to the seek for relief, pleasure or escape through the practice of determined activities or the usage of substances, while obsession is related to the execution of rituals in order to avoid a negative outcome to happen (even if it's based on delusional possible outcomes), like the obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), where the person may believe if he doesn't turn the light on and off 10 times, he is going to die... That is an obsession.

many artists after all were addicted to making music, painting, dancing, or doing what they are passionated about, even to a point where it was harmfull to their lifes and relationships

I think the same thing could happen to gamblers

not saying this is good or bad
Yes, one example is Michael Jackson, who was a perfectionist. His originality and outstanding performance are unquestionable, despite all the polemics involving him on his personal life, but on the other hand, it brought negative consequences for him, as he was constantly dissatisfied with his own physical appearance, which took him to do many aesthetic procedures, until his body couldn't hold it anymore, and then he died.

Even though there can be some good outcomes in the middle of the way, every disfunctional, addictive or obsessive behaviors will bring devastating results in the end for the individual. Regards gamblers, they may face several winnings on medium term, but once they hit the long term, these earnings will become dust and then they will face bankruptcy.
