hi all ...

after compiling from the git ( yesterday ) - the wallet STILL says 'warning: this version is obsolete, upgrade required' ...

just ignore? ... or is there a later version that has not been updated to git? ...

#crysx

if you are compiling from git, you can do a git pull and that will go away. it was fixed about an hour ago. the next wallet releases will be updated in a few days..

an hour ago? ... no worries ...

recompiling again ...

new wallet? ... is this not the new wallet? ... with multialgo? ...

I'm having problems when trying to compile the wallet on Windows 7.

First of all, I had to build secp256k1 libs (it is not said in "BUILD WINDOWS" guide). Secondly, I'm getting these interesting errors:

https://i.imgur.com/ITuGvQx.png[/img]

https://i.imgflip.com/116lqq.jpg[/img]

I'll be updating the instructions and the windows build environment with the release of the next version of the client. I was working on it a bit more last night and finally got my Windows VM setup correctly. So i just need to get my ubuntu machine up and running. and my mac machine.

happening any time soon? ...

#crysx

Did you check here? https://github.com/transferdev/Transfercoin

i have now - tanx ... Wink ...

though very brief instructions - the windows build is always the most difficult ...

which windows are these instructions based? ... windows 7 8 10? ...

fully installed windows or a vm? ...

ill delve further into this this week - as im still settling in to the new place and still unpacking ...

looks reasonably easy ... but as with anything windows based - looks can be very deceiving ...

#crysx

Hey crysx it's been tested on both windows 7 and windows 10. And should be reasonably easy to get through the instructions. But as always if you have any issues I can try to help you through them. Everything to build has been provided including QT 5.6. Just make sure everything is unpacked to the C drive. instead of unpacking it to a folder on the C drive.

much appreciated ...

ill try this tomorrow afternoon ...

im off to bed now ...

nite - and tanx ...

this -l 13x78, i can achieve 480 in some case, your version is the same thing, and btw you did not fixed the nonce validation, i payed for a unusable version

-l 13x78 is crashing in the tsiv version. (out of memory). I think the cryptonight mod was compiled for compute 5.0 with an old version of cuda 6.5, some kernals are failing on compute 5.2. I will take a look when I have time and you will get an update. Why did you change your account newbie? I never trust newbies.

i'm Vaccomondus, i just lost my credentials, i'm unable to retrieve my account sadly, i've sent you a message, i have even create a topic about this in meta, and i'm the only one that know between our deal, so this is the proof that i'm him

you as well huh? ...

damn! ...

bct need to do something about that ... :| ...

hi sp ...

the isp has now fixedthe email issue ...

please send me the latest of the kernels to the address you have - and they wont bounce now ... i will respond if i am still awake - otherwise i will respond tomorrow ...

this will prove that im who i say i am ... i am chrysophylax ...

i completely understand the mistrust of newbie accounts - but pm me a question that only YOU and I know - and ill answer it ... especially regarding all this mess with the kernels and such ...

The lost password to the bitcointalk account is ok, but your email as well? What happened?

no - i didnt lose passwords or anything to the email ... just having issues with it currntly ... the email will be fixed when i can get my isp online to help with the issue ...

its their end so i think when they can resolve it when they can figure out what is happening on their server ... im just a little impatient - thats all ...

i havent even got the test machien running yet - and thefarm is down until i find a new home for it ... the small warehouse i was looking at didnt go through - so im left with keeping thefarm offline ... so no mining on this end in any big way - just a few small gpus ...

im selling off the vast majority of gb 750ti oc lp cards ( i was going to sell all - but i may keep a few ) so that i can upgrade thefarm to much more powerful cards ...

anyway - i guess i can wait ... its just that i CAN test the latest kernels on my gb 750ti oc lp card i have mining currently - but its only ONE card at the moment ...

as for the issues with speeds and miners ... i think a stock test would suffice to show the hashrates of the miners ...

i think you know how i work with testing - and know how i do this ... fedora 23 x64 with cuda 7.5 ...

and after 3 years of being on here ( and on the way to becoming legendary ) THEN having to start my profile here again on a newbie account - im not impressed with the way bct themselves have been 'helping' ( or the lack thereof ) with my issue ... so ill be changing the way i keep posts - on my own forum ( currently granite - but that will change to the umbrella name for all my projects ) ...

so this week will be my 'setting up the test miner and the beast miner' week ...

two machines ...

test - 1 x gb 750ti oc lp + gb 980ti g1 ...
beast - 3 x gb 980ti g1 + 2 x gb 980ti extreme ...

beast is my friends machine ( the one i built that STILL has the 6 card issue - so only 5 cards mine ... if you remember from my chrysophylax profile ) ... this is the machine i will be using to mine in a couple of days - with the test machine actually doing the tests on the kernels ...

alexis78 is NOT a newbie here - just his profile - as mine is ...

i will be testing all the kernels i have and will be placing the results on pastebin as we did earlier ( before i locked myself out of the chrysophylax profile ) ...

my email 'should' be functional again in a day or two - so ill email you direct from there so you know its 'me' ...

#crysx

Why can't you get your account back here on bitcointalk? I don't trust newbies.

because the powers that be on bct havent got back to me AT ALL ...

the only one that did was an admin that couldnt reset my account ... all he could do was allow a little more access to this crap newbie account ... theymos has a ton of emails before mine to deal with - but have not heard anything from him - and badbear aparently is awol with no indication as to when he will be back ... ive emailed a few others - but like i said - NOT ONE of the mods ( only one admin ) has got back to me ... and its been a couple of weeks now since my screw up of the account password and question ...

i cant believe the laid back method that the mods of this forum have towards accounts that are liek mine - hero turning legendary ...

aparently even the admin who helped me told me 'not to hold my breath' ...

anyone here will be most welcome to open a thread on the granite forum - but ill be changing that to the new umbrella name and open a new thread here also - just get back control over my own threads again ( granite and dbm - and now ozziecoin as well since ive taken over ) ...

i completely understand the mistrust of newbie accounts - but pm me a question that only YOU and I know - and ill answer it ... especially regarding all this mess with the kernels and such ...

ill be fixing the email issue tonight i hope ( if my isp can do so ) and will be back up and running ...

i can prove a great deal with regards to how genuine i am as being chrysophylax ...

want to see how serious ( and accurate i am with any of the questions ) - chat me real time in skype ( chrysophylax69 ) ...

try me ...

I'm having a hard time syncing the wallet.
Compiled the latest git, cleared the blockchain, it hangs and only gets orphans or continuously reorganises the chain.
Stopping and restarting may help, still I can't reach the last block.
Any snapshot?

hi pallas ...

long time also mate Wink ...

ill open mine up and see what happens ... its been compiled from git only a couple of days ago - so unless there has been an update ( which is easily recompiled anyway ) it should sync also ...

did you compile or just use the readily available one? ...

Has the Windows version been released?

I see Linux and Mac.

hi antonio ...

been a while mate ...

cant you compile windows versions? ...

im learning how to do it on windows - but would much prefer to cross compile via linux ...

need to learn how to do both - as i need this for my own coins also ... apparently windows compiles are WAY more complicated than any linux compiles ...

#crysx

Hey cryslox,

Never tried to compile a wallet. Not sure what all I need to compile. I guess I can google.

Compiled a few miners (Nvidia) but that is it.

yup - thats kool ...

i just dont really know how to cross compile the versions ( inside linux ) which would be a HUGE advantage ...

no success with qt5 at all ... ill bet that a fedora 23 x64 issue ...

in any case - im glad to see you still around with a lot of coins thats goign aroudn ... been chatting to alexis78 regarding decred and blake* kernels ... you still have those evga 750ti sc cards dont you? ... the super clocked ones? ...

i dont want to go off topic here - so skype me if you can ... im still waiting on the bct people for my profile - but that does not seem to be happening anytime soon ...

will be opening my own forum for the public discussions as well - im not impressed with the lack of concern over my 'hero turning legendary' account ... hence the newbie account i have ...

at least on a forum i CAN do something about - i wont lose the accoutn and have a much more speedy result ... though ill still wait for the bct people to react to the messages that have been sent from me ...

I believe this coin can be pumped again, you can see almost every coin on bitrex is pumped 5x at least. And this one can even higher. I will buy some. Now when soopy is with DRZ we can expect only rise!

things will happen when they do mate ...

plans are put in place for a reason - as a goal ... timeframes have not had a good history with keeping to them - BUT - there will be as much progress done as possible ...

ive watched the nodes roll the processing of the blockchain - which means there are new wallets being setup and thats a good thing ... the larger the network - the better ... especially if staking coins is what you are looking at doing ...

as we are no longer on bittrex - the two exchanges that droidz exists ( ccex and yobit ) will have the major part of trading ... again - another good thing ...

hi all ...

forcing qt5 in fedora 23 x64 has some interesting issues ...

Code:
cc1plus: warning: command line option ‘-std=c99’ is valid for C/ObjC but not for C++
In file included from /usr/include/qt5/QtGui/qwindowdefs.h:37:0,
                 from /usr/include/qt5/QtWidgets/qwidget.h:37,
                 from /usr/include/qt5/QtWidgets/qmainwindow.h:37,
                 from /usr/include/qt5/QtWidgets/QMainWindow:1,
                 from qt/bitcoingui.h:4,
                 from qt/bitcoin.cpp:4:
/usr/include/qt5/QtCore/qglobal.h:1067:4: error: #error "You must build your code with position independent code if Qt was built with -reduce-relocations. " "Compile your code with -fPIC (-fPIE is not enough)."
 #  error "You must build your code with position independent code if Qt was built with -reduce-relocations. "\
    ^
Makefile:2600: recipe for target 'qt/qt_libbitcoinqt_a-bitcoin.o' failed
make[1]: *** [qt/qt_libbitcoinqt_a-bitcoin.o] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory '/mnt/horustor/compile/coins/vergecurrency/VERGE/src'
Makefile:523: recipe for target 'all-recursive' failed
make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1

so as with a few older wallet compiles - the error says that qt5 needs to be compiled with -fPIC instead of -fPIE ...

ill change that in the makefile now and see how that turns out ... then sleep ...

will let you know how it pans out - if you are interested ...

Right... well  thats why i mention the 650 watt usage.  thats one miner.  Im gonna start small, and just go for enough power for one unit...

then work on the next one..and so on.

I think i figured it out enough to get 1 300ah batter,   3-200watt panels, and ofc a controller.

course, i wont know til i play with it, if thats really enough.      oh and inverter ofc

that should be 3days at the 1500w level.

will ..eventually see how it goes.

g

keep me informed of your progress ...

id be very interested in how it all goes ...

I've been trying to plan Solar power for my office. (i use the mining rigs for heat in winter)

i have to shut one rig down, eventually cuz its too hot.   which means no scrypt Sad
but im hoping to put up the panels asap...

I just have a hard time converting the Solar DC watt to  AC watt...that i need lol.

ie: 650 watt full time  rig...  and a 1200watt  rig...    hm 1500watt would be smarter. (AC in summer/ scrypt in winter) lol.

is there a formulae for that? PM me that? Smiley

g

it actually depends on what you want to do with it ... full dependance on solar means large solar capacity - as even the smaller miners use a huge amount of power ... where as hybrid solar / grid is another thing altogether ...

im currently working on a unique cooling system that may be be the answer to my issues ... as i dont just have one or two mahcines Wink ...

that project hasnt started yet - but it will ... so as long as i can mine ... i think verge will be on that horizon most of the time - along with granite and ozziecoin of course Tongue ... but massive changes are coming to them also in the coming weeks and months ...

I'm always around...

Anyways, the build process with autotools is quite verbose in its output, it won't just silently fail to do something

hahaha ...

then you havent been bamboozled by the redhat team as yet ...

im a 'rhel guy' - and let me tell you that there is nothing that these guys would luv more than to add more 'red tape' ( pardon the red pun ) to their distro ... bloody fools ...

but its what i know - and im guessing its something to do with it ...

and before anyone suggests - NO! ... i wont go debian based ubuntu ... all my ststems are rhel based and i wont spend the next 2.5weeks reorganizing and redesigning the servers and workstations and especially thefarm ... Tongue ...

will get to the bottom of it ...

just need to locate what it is thats missing from the compile structure that is causing this part to skip ... if in fact the qt part is processed at all ...

#crysx

if you see something that is fedora specific holding it back, feel free to make a pull request that fixes the build for fedora use on our repo. (just please make it fedora conditional, so it doesn't break the build, pull requests are auto-tested by travis-ci builder)

the very last lines after make it complete should tell you exactly what happened.

tanx ...

ill do what i can on my end - but possibly not tonight ( adelaide - south australia - australia ) ...

i appreciate all the help also guys ...

tanx ...

#crysx

Another Awesome Aussie !!

hahaha ...

you are a funny ( but also awesome ) guy ...

Wink ...

#crysx

Live in beautiful downtown Busselton WA!!

i hear that western australia is a beautiful and HUGE place ... especially in perth and fremantle areas ...

ive visited a few times but havent stayed there long at any one time ... a friend of mine lives near the curtin university close to where she lives and she used to be an adelaide country girl ...

but ill be there soon by the looks of it ... you guys have a lot cheaper electricity off peak - and allow for better rates overall ... thefarm will luv it there i think Wink ...

#crysx

Yeah I live about 2 hrs south of perth/freo on the coast and when they were giving massive rebates on the solar power upgrades I went ball deep and pay $0 for power they actually pay me got that many panels on the roof cant tell what color my roof tiles are and rigs run like a fat kid running to the cake shot !! (and im not being mean I was that fat kid lol)

nice ...

so can i move thefarm into your living room then? ... Wink ...

will be so much warmer in winter ... hehehe ...
