8601  Economy / Speculation / Re: April 14, Coinbase IPO and pump on bitcoin? on: April 14, 2021, 04:59:36 PM
There is no doubt that owning Coinbase up until now has been a great financial move.  Personally though, I'm worried that their current market position leaves them only one way to go, down...  The question when looking at the financials is if they're going to be able to make back the funds they raise before losing market share.  I personally try to think from the company's side of things when evaluating IPOs and it's clear that the risk being removed here is that of a Bitcoin bubble inflating revenue numbers.

While it's easy to look at Coinbase as a great company and want to own a piece, I remember there's a quote that goes something like this...  There's a fool involved in every trade, if you don't know who the fool is, it is you.  While it's not necessarily a bad thing to be the "fool" in a trade, you should know why you're the fool and accept that.  For those buying COIN, you are the fool.  You are buying a company with a dominant market share that makes money on trades of an asset that is in a bubble.  There are many reasons why one might be ok with this...  Maybe you think the bubble is going to be so big that Coinbase is going to make a fortune the rest of the year and you can escape before the pop.  Maybe you think when the dust clears they will still be an attractive investment.  Maybe you want to diversify your portfolio with crypto assets but only want to purchase companies.  Who knows why...  Just be sure if you're involved in the trade that you know who the fool is, and you have a plan to utilize the trade accordingly.
8602  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] RTX 3000-Series GPUs (3060 Ti's, 3070's, 3080's) & Mining Motherboards on: April 14, 2021, 04:51:17 PM
1x 3080 sold to @MagicOyster via escrow thru @OgNasty, cheers!

Any special price deals for the escrow agent?  Cheesy

For those complaining about price, I hear you.  I wish GPUs were cheaper too.  Unfortunately, they're just damn near impossible to find right now due to their profitability.  On the plus side, at least we all just want them for mining reasons.  My heart goes out to the gamers forced to pay these prices.  Supply and demand though, gotta give credit to those able to get their hands on GPUs in today's market.  No small feat.  I haven't seen GPUs this hard to come by since the summer of 2011.
8603  Economy / Reputation / Re: OgNasty is a lying piece of kaka on: April 14, 2021, 04:37:56 PM
Certainly 1 small little comment isn't going to cause all of this. This is coming from a build up of multiple encounters and multiple lies, mudslinging, etc.

Of course it wasn't one small comment.  It was my exclusion of her for improper usage of the trust system that started her irrational and emotionally charged attacks against me for years now.  She's a woman scorned.  LOL

Similarly, you're still mad I wore a signature for a couple weeks for an advertiser that you lost money to even though I removed it before the agreement even ended.  You and suchmoon need to both stop blaming others for your behavior.  You lost money because you suck with money and suchmoon was excluded by me for incorrect usage of the trust network as explained in the previously posted quote.  I'm not the cause of your problems, you are.  NastyFans isn't the reason you are broke, you are.  Grow up, accept responsibility for your actions and stop looking for others to blame.

Nice to see you both took my offer of, 'stop telling lies about me and I wouldn't care you exist' to heart.  It took how many hours before you both ran to a new thread to start more drama?  You're both queens...  Make sure to merit each other to add some merit abuse to your attacks...  Straight out of Vod's playbook leading to his loss of his merit source position.
8604  Other / Meta / Re: Is it time to change some negative trust ratings to neutral or delete them? on: April 14, 2021, 04:26:52 PM
I think you are slime who supports anyone that does or says anything negative about me as some sort of revenge for excluding you early on after seeing you repeatedly leave trust ratings for users you didn’t deal with that I personally considered untrustworthy while simultaneously not leaving feedback for trusted members you did actually trust with your funds. Basically, you’ve been on a multi-year slander quest against me for taking my responsibility in DT seriously.

Nice narrative. Whatever makes it easier for you to cope. In fact, let me just admit right here that I'm the worst person on this goddamn forum, just in case that helps you be the bigger man and get rid of all the abusive red ratings you sent out over the years. Fingers crossed.

It isn't a narrative, it is a fact for anyone who cares about those...  Funny how you can't even quote your horrible behavior (I fixed the quote for you).  Whenever I mention the truth of why you started your hate campaign against me or how you robbed Vod of his ownership stake in BPIP as a result of his mental decline, you can't even quote the text you are in such shame over your actions.  I don't know about you being the worst person on this forum, but your actions and behavior towards them has definitely earned you the moniker suchshame.

Excellent, thank you for doing the right thing.

I won't hold my breath for you to do the right thing and exclude Vod from your trust network...

I get a bunch of my posts deleted and then suchmoon wants to deflect to a new thread after her abusive behavior is explained for everyone.  This is exactly the type of behavior this thread was made to "out" amongst the troublemakers.  I make an honest effort to remove a bunch of feedback, point out that suchmoon's behavior is wrong for including users like Vod due to her own irrational revenge scheme, so she insults me and tries to direct the conversation elsewhere...  So typical.

In the end, as a result of his lies and trusting users like ibminer and suchmoon, Vod's reputation was ruined, he lost ownership of his project, and he had to leave the forum.  He wasn't the first to try and spread lies about me until it eventually consumed him and I'm sure he won't be the last as this thread makes clear.

As I stated before, all you guys have to do is stop spreading lies about me and I wouldn't care you exist.  The first thing you do is go make a new thread to whine...  You'd have to be an absolute idiot to think it's me that keeps these feuds alive.  I honestly wouldn't know or care you guys exist if you stopped spreading lies about me.

8606  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trans woman joins women football league on: April 14, 2021, 04:00:23 PM
It's hard for me to view this sort of behavior as anything other than mental illness.  While I'll admit I'm not totally onboard with the trans thing by itself, when you add in competition and use it as an excuse to disrupt the level of fairness then I think it is downright wrong.  A lot of politicians have started to dabble in legislation to stop this sort of thing from happening in the future, but with the PC crowd desperate to push their everyone is the same agenda it is likely to be an uphill battle that will take some time...

This is fun and glad that i have learned something today.

It appears you did not use a key to encrypt this.

Also, pointing out your inability to manage a mining operation to actually make BTC for your investors, like you had claimed, is not 'harassment'.

BITCOINS DISTRIBUTED:

How much BTC is your mining operation sitting on since you and suchshame seem to think I did such a horrible job managing mine?  For you to harass me for the value I was able to create for others, you must be sitting on at least a million dollars worth of BTC, or if you want to ignore USD value like you seem to these days, more than the 700+ BTC I've been able to help distribute, since you know so much more about running a mining operation than I do.

Again, notice how I point out suchmoon's horrible behavior, then her partner immediately runs in with the deflection tactics.  The reason is because suchmoon's behavior below is so blatant and wrong that it is indefensible any other way.

It's irrelevant that Facebook is a fraud? 40. 000 employees getting paid for nothing?

That shit will leave a hole in the world economy when people realize that it's a fraud.

But isn't important enough to be jn a gay forum with soyboys trading and selling pornsite passwords.

This isn't off topic either because I am asking for a loan! You stupid low testosterone Jimmy's

There is too much here on so many levels I think you could write an essay.  From the "jn a gay forum" to the "soyboys trading" and "low testosterone Jimmy's" straight classic.  Topping it all off he's asking for a loan while trying to save the world economy from the hole that Facebook's departure will create!  The title which I thought would be the most spectacular part of this thread turned out to be the tip of the iceberg.

This isn’t true.

I'd have doubted it a couple of years ago but after seeing the shit you pull in PMs... you would be the last person I would trust in any "he said, OgNasty said" situation.

I don’t think I’ve said anything in a PM people wouldn’t expect. I’ve also been critical of LoyceV for leaving merit to attempts at doxxing me & including mentally deranged users who are actively harassing honest members to the DT network. Your other buddy ibminer who is angry he lost money gambling with a signature advertiser I had years ago and blames me for him not getting rich with Bitcoin has been harassing me for years. As a result he is another person who people wouldn’t be surprised has gotten my true feelings sent to him privately. I actually think that would be the preferred method of handling drama here as opposed to derailing honest project threads and making people read all this crap, but I guess signature ads don’t pay for PMs (which are paid in BTC based on a USD amount at the time of transfer)...

Excellent, thank you for doing the right thing.

I won't hold my breath for you or any of the mentioned users to do the right thing and exclude Vod from your trust network...
8612  Other / Meta / Re: Is it time to change some negative trust ratings to neutral or delete them? on: April 13, 2021, 09:59:03 PM
Unfortunately, I've already had to add one back for a user who immediately began harassing me after I removed a feedback rating for them threatening to physically harm me.
So you are getting harassed by the member you removed the rating from? He is angry that you changed your mind and decided not to tag him Huh

When it comes to OgNasty, he's usually blatantly lying about such personal interactions and has a habit of sending harassing PMs to other users. What really happened here is that he came up with an excuse to move his red trust rating to the top of the list after the person whom he had red-trusted previously gained a few positive ratings from successful trades, which would indicate that there isn't high risk in trading with said person but OgNasty can't stand that with people he dislikes.

This isn’t true. One of us has definitely turned into quite the liar. How about this, I’ll even in good faith for the sake of this thread remove it yet again to show that in fact you are full of shit and it is never me going on the offensive with the attacks on people. Quite the opposite. I don’t care you guys exist. If you stopped spreading lies about me I don’t think we would ever have any interaction whatsoever. Try out not lying about me or attempting to derail my threads and watch how quickly I forget you exist.
8613  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Congrats to the Diamond Hands Bitcoin Holders! on: April 13, 2021, 07:56:15 PM
It is not an easy task to hold bitcoin for such a long time for you to be a millionaire through it, they deserve the accolades they are getting. What is worthy of note is; most of these people have money, they have patient and it is paying off for them. Diamond hands or not regardless we are celebrated as well. We are champions for keeping the technology growing is a feet we have collectively achieved.

This is a great point. I’ve heard so many people talk about Bitcoiners like they got lucky. Then those same people buy into BTC and sell when they get a 10% profit... Even now in the community some people talk about a million dollars like it’s easy to get and not a major thing to save a million dollars. Granted, none of the people criticizing have a million dollars, so bless their ignorant hearts.

The Diamond holders are out there, rubbing shoulders with the rest of us on these forums, and I respect their dedication and belief in Bitcoin. I’m glad they’ve been rewarded for their loyalty.

I've removed quite a few negative and neutral feedbacks lately in an attempt to try and spread more positivity and limit negativity.  Unfortunately, I've already had to add one back for a user who immediately began harassing me after I removed a feedback rating for them threatening to physically harm me.  Sometimes being the bigger person doesn't pay.

Again, you clearly have no idea what "being the bigger person" means.

Just so I’m clear, you think helpless newbies trying to sell plots of land on the moon deserve negative feedback to protect the community from them, but someone harassing others for years, knowingly spreading lies, and threatening to cause physical harm doesn’t? So being the bigger man to you means harassing harmless newbies and letting terrorists run free? I think maybe you don’t know what being a man means.

Lakers needs to find some way to try winning those remaining games to stay in good position.

They’ve already slid quite a ways down the standings. I think they might need LeBron back for the last 5 games or so just to ensure they make the playoffs at this point. Looking like another 13 games from now they may actually be in jeopardy of missing the post season without some sort of winning streak.

I don't think I'm an active DT member at the moment, so it's quite possible he didn't realize I had recently removed his negative feedback and was just attacking me as he normally would, which is why he had the negative feedback to begin with.

At some point I hope these abusive negativity spreading users realize they're only training newbies how to avoid being linked to their scams and that their attempts to save the gullible are realistically training otherwise harmless scammers to be better at what they do.
That reply of yours reminded of my thread Should all scam busting techniques be made public? Many scam investigations are also a way for scammers to train on how to better themselves and not get caught.

Yes, we all go through phases when we join the bitcointalk community.  Once you've been around long enough you learn to identify common user behaviors based on their length of time in the community.  I went through a scam buster phase myself and had a back and forth with one of the mods in a section of the forum reserved for staff and donators a few years back.  I was enraged at the time that the administration wasn't doing more to try and stop obvious scams.  This community existed for about 2 years before I came around though, so I guess it took me some time to get on board with the way things should be done here to keep activity moving sustainably into the future.  One thing about making allegations in real life, there are consequences when you wrongly go after someone, and that is a piece of the checks and balances system that is clearly missing here as a result of poor behavior amongst DT members.  This community takes a stance that it's ok if a couple honest users get wrongly convicted as long as many dishonest users receive warnings and I think that is deserving of a change.

I went ahead and updated the solar energy statistics.  The solar system has produced nearly 69 thousand kWh to date and continues to function without issue.

The environmental savings data might be the most impressive as you can see the impact of even this small operation going green on the environment.  This data is calculated by taking the energy produced by the system (kWh) and multiplying it by a conversion value provided by the EPA to estimate the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions avoided.

I posted this in my mining thread, but thought people might enjoy seeing some positives to understand why I spent my money to make my mining operation more environmentally friendly.  When I started talking about going green with my mining operation back in 2014 it seemed like such a distant goal.  Seeing the effects of this effort on the environment now is a wonderful feeling.

LOL... Og's been deleting my posts and reporting my posts as multiposting.

I obviously can't delete anyone's posts here, nor did I report anything as multiposting but that should be of no surprise to anyone.  I would like to request you suchmoon along with your partner ibminer to utilize the Reputation board if you have issues with me.  This thread is to discuss a provably honest community organization, not to cast stones at it's members.
8618  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk forum holding 125 BTC on: April 12, 2021, 10:49:25 PM
The 0.325BTC amount is for the entire month, and does not appear to pay all the forum's expenses. As I noted, the forum spent 56% of that on mod payments, and Loyce noted the forum accrued a liability to pay the treasurers 77% that. That means the forum spent 133% of ad revenue on expenses before hosting costs, which I imagine to be four figures /USD per month.

With the much higher Bitcoin exchange rate this year, I believe it would be making an assumption to think the BTC payment to treasurers would remain the same going forward.  I find it a bit unlikely that this would be the case.  I would even go as far as to propose an 80% reduction in the BTC amount paid to treasurers going forward and think that could be done by theymos without anyone involved having an issue.

I believe the lotto he inquired about (my response still being valid) is my coming $10,000 coin giveaway mentioned here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=86854.msg56118909#msg56118909

So far the poll results for the giveaway are:
no: 1038 (6.4%)
yes: 2914 (17.9%)

Looking like a $10K, 100 Minted Seat coin giveaway is getting closer to reality!  All you need to enter for a chance to win a 1oz/2oz/5oz silver minted seat is to own an online NastyFans seat purchased from the auction at https://nastyfans.org and wait for the giveaway!

Also, as we go speeding towards new highs again I though I would give an update on the current value stored on these coins.  At the current rate, originally minted seats are now holding $241.85 worth of BTC with another $7.19 pending.  That total of $249.04 represents nearly a $150% gain from the ~$100 sales price (ballpark price effected by shipping and if you minted your own seat purchased from the auction or purchased a seat to mint).  Pretty amazing considering the costs built into coins for silver, engravings, supplies, etc.  It is still recommended for those chasing yield to purchase online seats, which sell for much cheaper and thus have a greater return than their physical counterparts due to not having the associated costs mentioned previously.

If you haven't already, you can still purchase minted seats at https://nastyfans.org/mint
