8601  Bitcoin / Press / [2018-01-31] Coincheck hackers trying to move stolen cryptocurrency on: January 31, 2018, 01:13:23 AM
If the hackers did their research well, then they know they only need to trade their stolen XEMs for one coin. Monero. Once they do, there is no way anyone can trace them.

I reckon this might be a good time to start looking at Monero's price hehehe.

Robinson said such hopping among different cryptocurrencies was becoming more prevalent among cybercriminals trying to cover their tracks.

The coins that the hackers had taken made up around 5 percent of the total supply of XEM, the world’s 10th biggest cryptocurrency, according to trade website Coinmarketcap.

McDonald said the hackers were unlikely to try to spend anything close to all of the stolen cryptocurrency at once, because the “market simply couldn’t absorb that much”.

If the hackers successfully moved the coins to an exchange, they were likely to try to swap them into another cryptocurrency before transferring the coins back into a conventional currency, he said. That would make the funds difficult or near impossible to trace.

“I would assume that they are going to get away with some of the money,” McDonald said.

8602  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-30] South Korea Cracks Down on Cryptocurrencies on: January 31, 2018, 12:50:00 AM
Again? I reckon this is an old article published by Coinidol. In the article it said that bitcoin prices tumbled on Thursday, following news that South Korea’s government is considering a ban cryptocurrency trading.

Well it is only Wednesday unless they have a time machine hehehe. I also reckon that there are some altcoin people out there who want bitcoin's price to go down, but failing to realize that if it goes down, it will take most of their altcoins with it.

8603  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-30] Samsung Enters Crypto Mining Market, “Mass Producing” ASIC Chips on: January 31, 2018, 12:30:43 AM
Samsung's move really makes you think deeply about the longterm prospects of bitcoin. If the cryptospace was really certain to fail, then why would a large conglomerate invest in the manufacture of a cryptocoin's most basic need?

I am sure Samsung has already made a feasibility study and longterm projections on profitability.

8604  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITCOIN SPORTS BETTING SPORTSBOOK RANKINGS - 2018 UPDATED! (user reviews needed) on: January 30, 2018, 03:04:21 AM
Can anyone rate bitsport.bet? I made small bets and made withdrawals there and having no problems, but their ratings are low and there are scam accusations that they are not paying out some of their users.

I do not know if those accusations are true or not. It is also hard to trust all the FUD made, some from conspicuous alt accounts, here in the forum.

Thank you.
8605  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON [2017-10-07: update to 0.9.14.0] on: January 30, 2018, 02:54:08 AM
The Aeon hype is starting and I reckon, it will be a victim of high expectations and also of course, high price volatility. I cannot believe someone has already started making it appear that Aeon's development is doing very good.

There are greedy pump and dumpers in Aeon, everyone. Do not succumb to the hype. Aeon's development is still in murky waters.

8606  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-29] IMF’s Lagarde Says That Bitcoin Mining Consumes Too Much Electricit on: January 30, 2018, 02:41:44 AM
I reckon the world's governments will start using that argument to kill where bitcoin can be killed. Its mining process. If their campaign against mining captures more support, what other means of securing the blockchain is there? Proof of Stake? That has its own problems, especially in initial distribution. Also, there was the Vericoin incident.

8607  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-28] Nigeria’s Central Bank Governor: Bitcoin Investing is a ‘Gamble’ on: January 30, 2018, 12:48:53 AM
@1Referee. Africa is a very big untapped market, I reckon. They might have a large, disillusioned middle class, and discouraged from the state of their political and economic system that wants a way out.

Holding bitcoin is a good way out, not physically but financially.

1. I am updating the spreadsheet manually. When the week starts check your post count on spreadsheet.
2. If your post getting deleted make sure you don't post on spammy threads.
3. We're not accepting local boards & from Now post from Economics board is not accepted.
4. We're following GMT+6 Time. So make sure you make the minimum post before Sunday 10pm GMT +6.

1. Ok, thank you, but please check my posts from January 22 to 28 again. I made 31 posts.
2. I never post in spammy threads, my posts are the same as the weeks before.
3. I never post there either.
4. I set my forum clock to +6. Everything is in the right time.

I checked the spreadsheet. It says that I am at post 3502 on the 3rd week and at post 2528 on the 4th week, which means some of my past posts were deleted when the moderators were deleting old threads. But my post count from January 22 to 28 are 31 posts. Please check it again. Thank you.
8610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which privacy coins do you like? on: January 29, 2018, 02:35:21 AM
@ILoveOnions. Good choice on having Monero. But I would say that you should also have Aeon. Smooth, the lead developer of Monero is also the lead in Aeon. With the code rebase also coming, Aeon will be following Monero's path to one of the top privacy cryptocoins.

If anyone of you reckon that you missed the Monero train, then the Aeon train is still right there waiting for you to ride it hehehe.
8611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON [2017-10-07: update to 0.9.14.0] on: January 29, 2018, 02:21:32 AM
It's ok for me to use the command line wallet, but for many others is not. It's simply of stopper for massive adoption of AEON.

Wait for the code rebase. When that is done, development on new features will be faster including an official GUI. Remember that Monero was in the same situation once, but their development team made sure that the core software was stable before adding anything else.

Also, if you are a speculator this is a good time to keep buying.
8612  Economy / Gambling / Re: Nitrogen Sports 🏈0.01 BTC Free Bet on Super Bowl LII: Patriots vs. Eagles 🏈 on: January 29, 2018, 02:14:29 AM
@Nitrogensports. Are you not going to offer more betting categories in the Oscar Awards 2018 betting? You had best in sound editing, best in costume and others last year which were all very good, but I noticed that they are missing this year. Why?
8613  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-28] Bitcoin Not a ‘Legitimate’ Currency, But a Trusted Digital Currency on: January 29, 2018, 01:58:06 AM
That for me sounds like they will start using a pseudo-decentralized ledger system like Stellar or Ripple, especially now that Stripe has stopped supporting bitcoin to start utilizing Stellar for global payments.

But I speculate that it will be Stellar.

8614  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-28] Nigeria’s Central Bank Governor: Bitcoin Investing is a ‘Gamble’ on: January 29, 2018, 01:25:19 AM
But in life what is not a gamble? It all is. Investing in stocks is a gamble, starting a business is a gamble, also getting married is a gamble hehe.

There are things that people in government do not want you to do to have more control of your own affairs and to enrich yourself. Remember, the government cannot make you richer but what it can do is make you poorer.

In any case, keep using bitcoin and altcoins, and always be active in the cryptospace.
8615  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Oscar Awards 2018 Betting on: January 29, 2018, 01:02:20 AM
@STT. Do not underestimate the sportsbooks. Those odds are priced that way for a reason, and they are almost 99% correct with their predictions. Your best way of doubling your bet is to do parlay of the absolute favorite in each category. Something Nitrogensports has disabled.

They also do not have the rest of the nominations like best costume and best sound editing which have the best chance for us to win some bets. Maybe they learned from last year hehehe.
8616  Economy / Services / Re: PARKGENE Signature Campaign ! [FULL] on: January 29, 2018, 12:39:05 AM
Please manually check the post count. I reckon the moderators have deleted some threads for maintenance again that had some of my past posts.

I made 31 posts for this week. Please check again. Thank you.
8617  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-27] ICE Exploiting Blockchain to Expose Crypto Use in Drug Trafficking on: January 28, 2018, 02:25:12 AM
@jjacob. I reckon Monero will be one of the biggest contenders as a store of value replacement for bitcoin. But the high price turns the speculators elsewhere. I recommend making a small investment in Aeon, a close relative if Monero and also developed by smooth. Wink
8618  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-24] Australian Gold Refiner to Launch Cryptocurrency on: January 27, 2018, 05:40:30 AM
That idea has been tried before with different commodities backing a cryptocoin. There is no need for it and it does not make any sense. Bitcoin was created to eliminate the trust for any 3rd party and yet we see some organizations creating a cryptocoin that brings the need to trust back on the table again.

What if the precious metals get stolen, or what if they run with the precious metals hehehe?
8619  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Oscar Awards 2018 Betting on: January 27, 2018, 05:34:16 AM
@kiindje. My bet is the Shape of Water which is directed by Guillermo del Toro. It was simple but a very good movie with a classic feel. I hope the odds for it will be good enough. But if not then I will be doing a parlay for best film, best director, best actor and best actress hehehe.
8620  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 220: Miocic vs Ngannou Info and Prediction Thread on: January 27, 2018, 05:25:39 AM
@eaLiTy. Stipe versus Daniel Cormier was already announced by the UFC yesterday hehehe. The fight will be for UFC 226 coming on July 2018.

I reckon that Dana White is trying to create one of the biggest fight cards in history. Some MMA news sites are already saying that Tyrone Woodley versus GSP and Demetrious Johnson versus T.J. Dillashaw are on as comain events.
