Op simple answer is no. If you are new, welcome and google a lot more, but hardware is needed. Different algo coins require different types of hardware. Good luck

In my opinion, all things equal, older collectibles are more desirable than newer ones. There are definitely exceptions to this but I am speaking in general, especially in regards to the "first of a kind"/classic ones such as Casascius.
Any chain split would be a natural separation/distinction because as you said, ones funded prior will contain both sides of the split. They would absolutely be worth more, as long as the price of BTC + Price of New Coin > (is greater than) the current price of BTC. Collector interest and associated premium is the cherry on top. Can't imagine coins would lose value solely because they have "more than their face" or anything like that.
Are there any ETH coins made before ETC? Would be interested to see how those faired before/after the event.
Dont know of any funded eth coins that came out, maybe that monster coin that elianite is selling off but other than that i think just diy coins

Killyou, you dig your own holes....i can say with certainty that 99/100 people would say you shouldnt change the auction rules during the auction. You are the 1 out of 100.

How difficulty affects earnings seems relatively simple (higher difficulty = lower earnings), putting numbers to upcoming difficulty increases is what seems to not be obvious. I still think there might be some gleanable insights from the available data, maybe I'll spend some time with it and if anything fruitful arises I'll report back.
Yes, how is relatively simple, but yet it still gets ignored. How to attach a diff rise to this number of monster miners is pure guess work. Good luck wrapping numbers around this. I just stopped guessing. If you can get in early you might see a decent ROI, other than that it will become a long game fast. Yes its all about ROI , in such volatile market i recommend to buy a device with ROI of maximum 1 month or in dire need 2 month, because what you see now is going to be very different when you start mining and with massive equipment to flow in the market will increase the difficulty tons of time. Wouldnt everyone like machines that roi in a max of 1 month for ever. At that point manufacturers will just keep them. It will always level itself out between seller and buyer and 1 month rois are few and far between

forum rules dude...it ended @ 1.51BTC like I said, it happened to me a few times too...
Auction ended. I'll take 1.55 to be fair, winner is Fattcatt. Please message me and CC the escrow provider with the info. Doesn't quite work that way dude. The auction was won @ 1.51 BTC, that is the price Fattcatt should pay, and nothing more - plus shipping costs if applicable. also a newbie just made an account 2 hours before end to bid it up seems kinda fishy Last time I checked its not "fourm" rules, that when an auction ends, it ends, unless otherwise stated an auction is just a tool used to negotiate price. and unless OP stated he would not use an alt account to bid up the auction than he is free to do so Just because 99% of you all here follow "respectable" auction rules doesn't mean that anyone HAS too. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=238474.msg2539601#msg2539601^I paraphrased from theymos' post You DONT change auction rules mid auction. Never....never. i dont care what bitcointalk says you can and cant do. My god If you want to negotiate a price put it up for sale...why even state terms of an auction then....hmmm maybe so people know the rules of your auction

Probably not gonna get many people here to bite with paypal. Check ebay for that, we use btc or other cryptos here for sales.....

Yeah, It's a weird thing to sell...I guess I'll part it out.
If anyone knows what's inside and wants first dibs I'll let you at it before I show everyone.
Have no idea but interested in what is in the mystery pack.

I was watching many ebay auctions and the price ends around 7300 USD per one antminer l3+ w/o a psu. This price is reasonable. 2.75BTC at today's prices. I'm offering this at 2.75BTC today, 3 btc tomorrow.
When will people stop using ebay to base their prices on Why?? It's the going rate and prices should reflect what the market bears. Unless you're a buyer who is whining about the high prices. Not a buyer.....what happens on ebay should happen on ebay and the price is reflective of risk (chargeback, returns, 14% fees, etc.) Which if done right here should not happen. There is no paypal to back up scammers and return different gear or "defective" gear that they mined with for a month and chargeback... That said all the power to people who can get that price. In hand i dont think its too far off, but ebay should not be referenced as a basis of sale price.

At that price point im out. Will stick with the d3s, less risk with the unknown amount of diff spike we will see. Thanks for the thread and good luck with the group buy long.
