8621  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: forgot my password on: December 09, 2016, 01:20:46 PM
is there anyway to recover my password with my masterkey?

If by "masterkey" you mean Master public key then no , that won't help you recover your password or your bitcoins. Unless you have the seed as mentioned above , your bitcoins are lost forever.
If you kept the password in a .txt file for example then you could always try to recover it using some recovery data tools.
8622  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin v Tax on: December 09, 2016, 11:41:41 AM
From where they (governments) will gather the data ? logically from exchanges . Isn't Bitcoin meant to be decentralized ? the answer should be "yes" . Then , It's peoples fault If they are using centralized exchanges where they have to provide their real photos and ID scans while there is the ability to avoid all that and trade somewhere else without providing the least of your personal information's .
In other words , If they tax it (which they probably will and It's just a matter of time till they do) , It will be peoples fault only.
8623  Economy / Exchanges / Re: HAS COINSBANK TAKEN ANYONE ELSES MONEY? on: December 09, 2016, 10:49:57 AM
I'm using CoinsBank for sometime now , I'm not sure exactly of the time till the funds gets added as I have SMS notification activated but usually , It takes some minutes until I receive the notification so I'm assuming It should be either instant or until It gets a few confirmation in the blockchain. It shouldn't take more then one hour in worst cases unless you didn't pay enough fees.
8624  Economy / Services / Re: Need escrow for skrill to bitcoin exchange on: December 09, 2016, 10:24:15 AM
0.01 for trusted escrow, hope anyone is awake

Here is the escrow list for the next time : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855778.0 I checked and they are all offline (or at least inactive) . Ranochigo is connected though : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1306343.0 and he is offering free escrow services.
8625  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain wallet - credit & debit card funding is live on: December 09, 2016, 09:47:54 AM
I remember they launched the Beta in UK only and wanted to go to the whole Europe after. It's a good thing I suppose since there is a lot of people using Blockchain.info wallets , so It could target a larger audience with an easy way to buy . I want to know about the fees though ? how much do they charge compared to Virwox and other services

8626  Other / Meta / Re: Board suggestion - Tasks? on: December 09, 2016, 09:33:38 AM
Yes, Services is currently a mess. From the signatures campaign threads that are constantly being bumped up, over the micro payments for X task, to the payment of Y after registration and deposit at Z (which is essential paid referral/affiliate). Something should be changed.

How about "Paid Tasks"?
IMO micro payment tasks should go into micro payments (even though they are services).

Micro earnings section ? Everyone have the assumption that the section is used for faucets only and I don't think It would be wise to use it for something else at this stage because people will probably continue to post in services as ME section is a mess with all the bumps and that would make the new threads (about tasks) pretty invisible.

Maybe signature campaigns or other kind of campaign should get a separate section since we see some newbies asking where that section can be found and also as you mentioned they get bumped up more often when they are asking for new ones to promote and for simple messages to say payment is already sent.

There is definitely not enough signature or social media campaigns (even If there is , they come to an end after a small a few weeks/months , only a few lasts for a longer period of time) so making a new section is useless .

8627  Other / Meta / Re: Board suggestion - Tasks? on: December 09, 2016, 08:22:41 AM
I guess you mean something like Fiverr and SEOClerks ? that could be a good idea If there is enough demand for it. I use from time to time the services section for this kind of tasks and making a dedicated section for this kind of tasks could really make things easier for both who wants to get hired and who wants to get a job done . (the name should be "Quick tasks" If I had to choose one)
8628  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to trade bitcoin(help) on: December 09, 2016, 07:34:49 AM
I am new to trading. I don't have an experience and reputation about trading and that's why I'm here for asking a help to an experienced person.
Can you give me an idea on how to trade and where to trade?

Well, to be honest it isn't the brightest idea to try trading as a newbie because you are likely to get sucked in with outrageous claims made by people that are trying to get money from you(ICO scams especially.)

If you are just looking for a good online altcoin trading website, try poloniex. Method? Buy low sell high.

Someone should clearly be able to spot a scam and make a different between a legit and non-legit ICO otherwise he is screwed. It's not that hard though , It's all about the marketing and how effort the developers and managers has put in the project , escrows is something else that everyone should look at.
As for Poloniex or other exchange , then those Altcoins logically came from ICOs so someone should once again use his brain (mostly If he is investing for long term) while buying and selling.
8629  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin payment app for converting bitcoins to gift cards at various locations? on: December 09, 2016, 07:11:42 AM
I don't think I understand this very well , is the application going to be for finding places where you spend the gift card balance or you simply deposit BTC and you get whatever Gift card you would like to use , or both ? If It's the second then this would be great If the rates are good , the first would be a good add as well.
8630  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Bitcoin Failed to Deliver ? on: December 09, 2016, 05:45:08 AM
well i would say u are too soon to say this as .as bitcoin is in the first phase of development and it has too many bugs and programmers are trying hard to make it right .i would say u to wait for another 5 years and this post has it impact then.

I understand that Bitcoin isn't fully developed and there is more versions that will come out in the next years but saying that It has "too many bugs" make no sense. I mean the clients has but the Network Itself isn't really buggy , there might be some problems that need to be solved but those shouldn't be considered as a bug.
8631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am sorry to say, Mike Hearn was right. on: December 08, 2016, 06:00:58 PM
Or maybe we could wait and see how things with SegWit goes (even If it doesn't look so good so far) : https://blockchain.info/charts/bip-9-segwit and then decide whether he was right or wrong and I'm sure developers will come up with another plan If it fails.
8632  Other / Politics & Society / Ferndale Earthquake: Magnitude-6.5 In California Shakes Northern Part Of State on: December 08, 2016, 05:33:01 PM
A magnitude-6.5 earthquake struck northern California early Thursday morning local time, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The earthquake's epicenter was more than 100 miles west of the town of Ferndale, which is located in Humboldt County. The magnitude was quickly downgraded from an initial estimate of 6.8.

8633  Economy / Exchanges / Re: LocalBitcoins.com and Paxful reviews on BitTrust disappoint. Any alternatives? on: December 08, 2016, 03:15:39 PM
I prefer using Bitcointalk (currency exchange) as a trading platform all of the time as It's not that hard to spot scammers and there is a lot of DefaultTrust members who are active in that section which make it easy to do business with them without worrying much.
What I had in mind is to do some business in Amazon Gift Cards, me buying their cards for bitcoin, a high risk business for me. Paxful seemed to be the place for that, this forum isn't. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Any ideas for this?

I tend to disagree on this one , digital goods section is more then enough to run any of your businesses. As long as they are legit , trusted and of course a good (or let's say a competitive) price , a lot of people will come to you whether you are a buyer or a seller . Just check the section and If you are buying then make a thread about it + search the selling threads out there.
8634  Economy / Services / Re: Envato items on: December 08, 2016, 02:48:15 PM
I can get anything off from envato. 50% of the price and I can provide update for 6months as well.

I obvisouly can go first for good rep members.

Any offer?

I know this is an old thread but while searching I came across to this thread, OP do you still offer this service, I need a themeforest theme and I would buy it for 50% discount or more.

He is clearly not as he didn't connect since July 2016 but there is quachphuc who is offering the exact same service with almost the same rates and he is active (daily) on the forums : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1365991.0
8635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Bitcoin Failed to Deliver ? on: December 08, 2016, 02:29:16 PM
Since most of you here are that Bitcoin has not failed to deliver yet and BTC is still young and have the possibility to grow more , I want to ask you this ... while taking in consideration that SegWit signalling percentage seem to be very slow and there is a chance that It won't be activated , could we say that Bitcoin has failed to deliver then (after not being able to activate SegWit and LN with it) ?
8636  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Services like Twilio ? on: December 08, 2016, 05:21:22 AM
Hmm. I remember seeing something similar. A call service to mobile or landline. (No sms though so that rules out the big companies)

But they do accept bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

Here: Xcoincall and they're thread and their website :  www.xcoincall.com

Oh and there is Nexmo. It should work with the big companies(Microsoft, Uber, Google, etc) but as far as i know, they don't accept Bitcoin yet. Still, check it out. : https://www.nexmo.com/

I don't think you got my question right. I'm not looking for services that are able to call companies like Microsoft , Uber , Google and I'm not looking for anything to make calls (at least not normal ones).
I want a service to send both SMS and call automatically for 2 Factor authentication verification that those "big companies" use , In other words a reputable service just like Twilio but they should accept Bitcoin
8637  Economy / Service Discussion / Services like Twilio ? on: December 07, 2016, 06:07:20 PM
Does anyone have an idea If there are any services that are as good as Twilio (that most of the big companies like Microsoft , Uber , Google etc... use) and In the same time , they accept Bitcoin as a payment method as I can't seem to find any ?
I've seen a blog post from them where they had a comment asking about when Bitcoin should be available and they said they have no plans for the moment.
8638  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Insurance products on: December 06, 2016, 06:43:09 PM
I'm not experienced with this kind of stuff but from what I've searched , I found a couple of interesting results.
http://insidebitcoins.com/news/winklevoss-twins-to-launch-bitcoin-exchange-with-fdic-insured-deposits/29155 (FDIC insurance that the Winklevoss twins used in their exchange) and this company http://www.coindesk.com/great-american-insurance-bitcoin-coverage-businesses/ that Coinsbank spoke about in 2014.
8639  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcointalk Escrows - Trade Safely! on: December 06, 2016, 05:39:58 PM
Dabs, thanks for the info. Beside BTC, do you have other modes of payment?

Also, in the event the product shipped is not what is agreed on (I apologise for my ignorance) and I don't accept the delivery, what then? Like, it's a brick or something.

1.Using anything else as a payment method (like PayPal or anything that is reversible) will make using an escrow totally useless as someone could simply wait till he receive the goods and chargeback.
2. I will assume that you will need to provide a proof for that and probably ship the item back to the seller.

8640  Economy / Exchanges / Re: List of bitcoin debit cards on: December 06, 2016, 05:28:37 PM
I thought that It's worth mentioning that CoinsBank are giving free cards at the moment because of Christmas and new year. Offer is valid is valid for both No-name and Named cards , users won't pay anything until they activate the card (so the issuance of the card (14.95$) is free ). See details : https://coinsbank.com/cards-details
