Is that real https://www.cryptominerbros.com/bitmain-releases-overt-asicboost-firmware-for-antminer-s9

i am newbie here can you anyone can guide plz..

yes bitmain released a new firmware.

Any Idea how much hashrate increase after this new firmware.

all the ones I put it on dropped about half a TH/s - some are seeing slight increases - others are seeing hash rate remain the same but seeing power consumption drop.

If you read back thru the comments and on a few other threads here you will see quite a few people stating their results. They do seem to vary.

how much btc I can mining on your miner for today 6x1060 6gb?

this is not mining software - this is software to manage the miners. Tad bit of difference.
8643  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: BitCrack - A tool for brute-forcing private keys on: October 24, 2018, 12:17:25 PM
well apparently it is against some moderators rule to question this apparent attempt to hack private keys - so carry on! seriously hope this never succeeds.

This tool is to bruteforce private keys.
Bruteforcing means to try out every possible combination. You can't forbid someone to try out each number (since private keys are basically just big numbers).

The keyspace is big enough for a randomly generated private key to be never found by such a bruteforce tool.

This is not hacking in any way. It is just 'trying out numbers' (and it will not succeed in finding private keys generated by proper wallets/clients/etc..).

Oh, I get that it wont succeed, however, several of the posts here are specifically about targeting specific wallets with high enough balances.

On each miner?   Wow! Overkill and expensive.   You will have to build your own in-line meter out of something like this:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Digital-LCD-AC-220V-450V-230V-240V-LED-Voltmeter-Panel-Volt-Amp-Watt-Combo-Meter/192038472749

nah it was not expensive - was the cheapest cord I could find when I installed my outlets, so I installed the matching outlets.

I will need to look at doing an inline meter for sure. The ones you linked though - I have never seen 220v outlets that look like 110v outlets though - do you have a link to ones that match an existing 220v outlet?

Be aware of this firmware!

Many of mine S9 have 1 dead board just after flashing this firmware and Im not able to repair it.

If there is anybody with the same problem, please let me know...

Old firmware didnt help, its all 13,5ths versions.

what version of S9? you did not put it on the S9i or S9j did you? and did you check your control board?
8646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 10000 miners on: October 24, 2018, 10:50:30 AM
ok so I got my GPU's and CPU's to work - but only if I add NiceHash to the Pools in the Profit Switching page - when I turn off Nicehash none of them will work and with Nicehash their hashrate is super low. If I log into Nicehash directly the hashrate is 5 times higher.
another question - and this is probably the dumbest one I have asked ever... is AM capable of measuring how many watts the miner is pulling?
The hashrate displayed in Awesome Miner is what the mining software is reporting. Depending on the algorithm used it should be possible to find out if the number shown at Nicehash really is realistic.

If there is some specific scenario you want me to investigate, please start the mining software with the Diagnostics button and share both this output and the Awesome Miner log file with me. Thanks!

Awesome Miner can get the power usage during benchmark of some nVidia based mining software (ccminer and a few more). In all other cases you need to enter power usage approximations in the Profit Profile.

Thanks - I disabled the nicehash pool for now but none of the others will work with my cpus/gpus - I get the error that there are no available pools configured blah blah blah .

I was curious if it could pull the power usage of my ASICS. lol I know that would prolly be impossible but had to ask.

I did see someone state they tried on some s9i and it worked for a bit then a board would stop working - so they reverted back and miners are working fine.

what is the best way to measure the electricity usage? I always just use my electric bill lol

also, with LPM selected, is the hash rate supposed to drop or increase? last time I tried mine all dropped by half a TH/s without knowing if the power drop is sufficient to cover the lost hash rate, I am unsure as to whether to leave it checked or not.

Pickup a couple wall plug "watt meters" on eBay and use them to measure the wattage you miner uses in real-time.

I use these since they work both 240v and 120v:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Digital-Power-Saving-Energy-Monitor-Watt-Amp-Volt-KWh-Meter-Electricity-Analyzer/282562106503

You can even enter your kWh power rate in the meter and it will keep a running total of power cost for the unit plugged into it.   Mainly I just use it to do power surveys to quantify changes and their affect on profitability.

I cannot use those and have not ever seen ones for the types of plugs I use - L6-20P

Got all the S9s up on the 20181023 (2nd LPM release) firmware.  Happy to report 12.5-13% drop in power use, perhaps a fractional hash rate drop.  I have noticed the measured power usage is more stable as well...doesn't vary as much as previous.

Nice to knock a few kWs off the bill...and increase profitability ~25%!

I'll track pool side specs overnight and report back.

Curious if anyone has tried it on S9i or T9 yet?   (Bitmain said those specific FMs were coming later)

UPDATE:  Bitmain released a revised version of the firmware today...it works with Slushpool and others now.

where do you see this revised version? I only see the one released yesterday.

Same place the other https://service.bitmain.com/support/download, look under S9:
Antminer-S9-LPM-20181023.tar.gz

...the first one released was 20181022

ahh lol I didnt catch the date, just saw the one file - thought they would have added not replaced - thanks!

I have put this fw on 5 machines so far and have seen almost no difference in power or hash, im really confused how you guys are getting so much out of it and im not

don't feel bad - mine do not have the c5 board and all it did was to slow them down almost half a TH/s - but without a way to measure the power consumption, I am not sure if that would be more efficient for me or not. I need to find a way to measure the power usage. I have seen ones that fit right in the plug for some plugs but never for the plug style I have (L6-20P).
8655  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: BitCrack - A tool for brute-forcing private keys on: October 23, 2018, 05:31:25 PM
not to sound to ignorant - but I gotta ask, is this just to crack btc addresses with the intent of stealing the btc ?
8656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer S9 Firmware Update Bitmain Release Overt AsicBoost 🤠 on: October 23, 2018, 05:09:07 PM
So is this suppose to lower everybodys hashrate so to bring difficulty down Huh

Some people are saying this bricks their antminer. So if you don't have the firmware saved before upgrading it this could be the case.

for the ones having issues, they may not have the compatible version of S9 - there are ones with specific C5 control boards that are not compatible.

They can always reinstall the prior version by downloading and updating to the old one.
8657  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: New firmware for antminer S9 - less power consumption on: October 23, 2018, 04:24:45 PM
how exactly do we turn the AsicBoost on/off? I set that LPM to be checked and my miners lost hash rate - dropped from 13.8 range to the 13.3 range. I do not have a way to measure power consumption though.

I then set the LPM to not be selected and miners increased back to 13.8 range.

Is the LPM selected going to give me a lower hash rate but at a higher efficiency so essentially more profitable?

I have seen people post that they upgraded and were running just fine on Slushpool

Anyone knows the difference between "Low Power Mode" on or off at the total hashrate ? what reaches more?

with "low power mode"  selected, my S9's are getting a lower hash rate - I do not have a way to measure the power consumption though.
