I would have thought that the Activity count would be that of 2, in accordance to the two posts made on Meta. While trying to figure it out, I stumbles upon a couple of weird additional Newbie cases: a) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2744380This account has 7 posts according to the post count, but 0 Activity, and actually no posts in the “show the last post of this person” link. If fact, the account made at least 10 posts, all being deleted at some point (see http://loyce.club/archive/members/274/2744380.html). b) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2756879This account has 1 posts according to the post count, but 0 Activity, and actually no posts in the “show the last post of this person” link. If fact, the account made at least 2 posts, all being deleted at some point (see http://loyce.club/archive/members/275/2756879.html). Additionally, this account is banned. So there do seem to be some isolated circumstances that throw the Activity counter off its path.

Not sure what you mean behind personal notes, but the idea behind the Trust ratings is to make information available to others (specifically related to Commerce), so that others may use that information to get an idea of what that person is like in terms of trading. With that in mind, a personal note that (may have) no use for the general public is probably not the right use of the system here.

I’m pretty sure that has already been pondered multiple times. Software projects that get delayed well behind an intended schedule may start spinning well off-budget, and evolving requirements on the current running platform pile up to that delay. What is going to dictate the outcome is the willingness to go ahead (which seems to be there), controlling the budget/scope/managing changes, and the skills of the team currently allocated to the project. Without there being a specific dire need to migrate platform, I’d say that anything longer than an additional year may be a turning point, and a point in time to reconsider. I’ve seen large projects go down the drain after years of investment with large consultancy firms. It does happen.

The OP kind of reminds me of one of those HR questions that nobody answers with sincerity, although on a professional ground it is easier to envision one’s hopes for himself five years down the road (at least, at certaing ages, whilst one is still hungry for climbing the ropes, and before finding that it’s pretty much more like a game of snakes and ladders). In the crypto context, I figure that, for the most, it is a lateral hobby and not a main driver in live (with obvious exceptions), and as such, setting roadmaps to obtain knowledge (as opposed to a financial gain) is pretty much far from what the average Joe will do. It’s likely more of an exploratory ground, where one will go at his own pace and time, bearing to the fact that live goes on and, as such, will command the main thrive and needs, leaving leisure to be what it is, with no real need for goals and roadmaps. In retrospect, going back 2,5 years (to become a virtual Newbie), I recall hearing the buzz and fuzz on the media, and exploring (a very small portion of) just what all this was about. No compass to wade the uncharted muddy waters. No plans (some halfwit hopes though).

We'll see ...

Merit Sources are not confined to a specific board, so any board may be merited as a result of their forum surfing interests/habits. Local boards are pretty heterogeneous: - A few have a large amount of awarded sMerits, but also many posters. - Others have a reasonable amount of sMerits for the amount of posters, and the better posters are normally spotted there. - About half of the local boards are pretty inactive, and lack a Merit Source acting there. Normally if a board (any) is considered undermerited, the best way to draw attention to it would be to report some details specifics in a thread (such as this one). By specifics I mean something in the line of: a) Providing some numbers on the number of posts (quantitative). b) Providing some numbers on the number of merits awarded there (quantitative). c) Providing a "lengthly" list of posts that are unmerited/undermerited there (subjective quality). The former two can be derived in multiple ways (for example using the Merit Dashboard). The latter requires more time to compile, but with the above you can make a concrete case that draws attention to the situation with specifics.

They are not illegal, but you also have to make sure that the one you are interested in is legit. After all, they are going to trade on your behalf and use an exchange API to access your account, so you need to assess pretty well the reputation of the trading bot, and consider just how much you are willing to let it manage (that is to say, the amount you can expose). It would be nice if others with hands-on experience could bear their testimony here. Unfortunately, I am not in that situation, but a couple of years ago I did take some time to look into them. Bearing no relation to it whatsoever, and without intending to vouch for it, I did find it interesting to read through a thread here on the forum at the time: [GUNBOT] Trading Bot with 136 exchanges available. Even if you are not interested in that particular software, reading through the thread and the wiki is pretty interesting, and let’s you get a view on what this sort of software can do (you’ll also need to figure out what it can’t and the associated risks). Just don’t assume that it’s plug and play, click, and get rich. The algoritms need to be selected and parametrized according to your needs, and sudden market sways may not be played well if parameters are not thought through.
