8641  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-13] Billionaire Steven Cohen Enters Crypto Industry on: July 24, 2018, 12:49:15 PM
Only 8% of the top 25 funds have reported profits since the start of 2018, with many shutting down due to the massive losses. Most funds did not register double-digit returns until cryptocurrencies’ rebound in April this year.

I really do not understand, these guys invest millions of dollars and do not do research before investing their precious money? Why would they have to sell with losses? since they are very rich people, they only need to invest long term because they have other sources of income, so they will not worry about the current loss if they are investing in the long term, now reading that they sell at a loss. makes me feel shocked and does not understand why

My guess is that many of big investors do not purchase crypto directly.
They buy futures contracts or other derivatives instead.
Probably having literally no idea what Bitcoin or Altcoins are. Roll Eyes

Of course, that's why the get hedge fund managers to do that thing for them. I'm sure that they have heard about bitcoin and altcoin from their "billionaires clubs". But perhaps they only talks how much money they can earn. LOL. But when bitcoin and crypto suddenly makes a U-turn for the worst this year, they are at shock and now enters the "what went wrong". They now real how the market works and they become wise investors now. Maybe most of them cut their losses already, or others stay for the long haul.
8642  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin might rise soon on: July 20, 2018, 11:04:15 AM

According to observation, I think we are at the bottom and now and there are high chances that the price of Bitcoin might go upwards in a few weeks.
The last time Bitcoin cam this down, the next few days BTC went upwards quickly. So I believe that the price might soon cross $7500 in a few weeks.
We should hold our coins tight in this critical time because sooner or later the correction will end we will see a spike soon.

Nice prediction, you got it perfect dude because price grows $7,500 in just 3 weeks now im starting to believe in predictable thread lol

Now tell us whats next after this one?im excited having new feeds from you as were aiming for the bull that so hard to find this year

Good call by pawanjain, but we shouldn't jump to the conclusion that we might see the needed bullrun. Not yet, we need a strong support at above $7000 before we can talk $8000-$10000. There's a lot of positive news lately, that causes the price to do some reversals from $6000-$7+++. Maybe the OP is making another call and can update his thread so you can follow his predictions. Its going to be critical and exciting in the specially coming August as the decision will be handed down by SEC regarding CBOE application for a Bitcoin ETF.
8643  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: What is the cost of building an ICO website: on: July 20, 2018, 10:49:28 AM
What is the cost of building an ICO website?

After working with dozens of ICO’s in the last few months at GuerrillaBuzz
I can estimate the average website costs for an ICO from

5000$-20,000$.

~ snip ~

You get what you paid for. There are a lot of blockchain and ICO offerings out there, but if you chooses the cheapest among them, then you should not be surprised if you get a poor Word Press website. LOL. But I was surprised you quoting the price around that range, is that just for a website alone? I don't think that it will cost that much, in my opinion. Are ICO project willing to pay that for just a website though? I think $1000 website will be enough to attract investors with good design and layout.
8644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing News: Crawford beats Loma for ESPY fighter of the year (2018) on: July 20, 2018, 09:52:36 AM
@harizen , yes I totally agree with you. But not be wise at Pacquiao side to fight Loma even at 140 lbs because of the age factor. So there's a lot of risk in his end. And it was really close, however, maybe Terence Crawford wins has more weight and the way he demolished and toyed with his opponents gives him the edge against Loma for the coveted award. Maybe it would be really interesting to see Pacquaio-Crawford, Terence just go up at 147 lbs with that fight against Jeff Horn, it will be a great fight and I do hope that we are going to see that next.  Grin. It can easily be made and I reckon that we has no complain about a 70-30 or 65-35 split. Manny is still the A-side.
8645  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin back on track? on: July 20, 2018, 04:39:44 AM
Do you really think that bitcoin will really reach 9k this year or more ?

As of today we are trying to break the $8,000 value since we hits $7,500 already for couple of months we have been denied multiple times already but bitcoin keep on holding

Yes, this is a familiar scenario. Bitcoin is holding around the $7400-$7500 for 2 days now. Might be consolidating and getting ready to breach $8000 in the next couple of days so we better stay tune and make necessary adjustments.

If we get that $9,000 for sure we will break the 10,000 also so keep it there guys, all bitcoiners were heading there with hope and luck so never give up

$10,000 might be around the corner, but it will take a huge effort for all bitcoin enthusiast to push to that level. For now let's see if we can actually break the $8,000 barrier and see if we can sustain it or not. We don't want the price to be pump artificially, its better to take a slow approach, rather than pumping it $1000 a day and then it crumbles the following day.
8646  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-19] Billionaire Investor Says No One Wants to Buy Bitcoin on: July 20, 2018, 04:26:07 AM
Wait till his investors clients pressured him to look at bitcoin as a alternatives for them and I'm sure that he will make a complete U-turn. Its his personal belief and not the overall sentiments of his clients. There might be a time that other hedge funds are going into bitcoin so if he goes against it, he and his company will be left out in the closet and then at the end of the day heads will be rolling and I'm sure that this statement of his will be overturn by his superior at Citadel in the next couple of years.
8647  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What about your trade? on: July 20, 2018, 03:25:24 AM
I found lot of traders who bought a special coin from many exchange site. Then few months they go for sleep and wake up after 5 years. So now what about your trade?

Trading is good now a days because there are some small pump every day in the market so i think that daily trading become profitable now days.

If you really know how to day trade, its really profitable. However, the problem is its hard to identify what coins are going to be pump, unless you join a pump-and-dump group pay them and get the inside scope. However, its not recommended because its not a guarantee that you will always makes money. There are quiet a few times though that I got lucky and was able to ride the waves and I get out once a see a 100% gain on my investment. You don't need to be greedy and just take the profits as it is. Sometimes I also look here (https://coinmarketcap.com/gainers-losers/) and see which coins are being pump in a day or in about a week. Then you will have a idea which coins might be next or ride the waves of the coins that is currently pumped.
8648  Economy / Speculation / Re: If bitcoin fails to bull run on: July 20, 2018, 03:14:11 AM
I see some threads discussing that bitcoin will bull run getting to the end of this year. Guys, what are you going to do if these speculations fail to come to reality and enters next year. Will you still invest in bitcoin?

LOL. What do you expect from us? Cry at our room because the much touted bull run didn't happen? We have seen this before so we should be emotionally affected by things we can't control. What we can do it make adjustments and evolved at the situation. Maybe you can buy at the dips again and try to accumulate more bitcoin while waiting for a break out run. Others just prefer to HODL and don't do anything stupid. The worst thing you can do is sell during a price decline which we all advise against it. So let me rephrase your question then, what are you going to do if this bull run continues?  Grin
8649  Economy / Economics / Re: What would happen to banks? on: July 20, 2018, 03:08:12 AM
Many says that banks would become obsolete if cryptocurrency would take over the world in the future, but i guess not. Here are some of my assumptions on what would be the situation of banks in the future with cryptocurrency.

~ snip ~

That's a bit far stretch, I don't think that crypto will make banks obsolete. Historically, banks has been with us for a very long time. And I'm sure that they will do everything at their disposal to fight back against crpyto (its obviously they are really doing it right now). Plus why don't we just take advantage of them? Having a banks and crypto makes sense and other government institutions rely on banks, so absolutely they will not die. As for your assumptions, some of them are feasible, but the ongoing battle will continue and there will be no clear winning at the end, but us, who learn to take the opportunity to our advantage.

8651  Economy / Economics / Re: HOW BITCOIN BENEFITS THE ECONOMY? on: July 20, 2018, 02:30:38 AM
The government in most countries have decided to ban Bitcoin and cryptocurrency as a whole. I begin to wonder why the government for these countries have taken such an initiative. Any idea on the benefits bitcoin offers to the economy? Help me convince my government to accept Bitcoin.

So far there are 2 well known cases that help countries during their financial crisis. Zimbabwe and Venezuela. Those two nations economy was bring to the brink of financial disorders that they have abandon their own currency and introduced others like bonds. But locals have others things in mind, go to crypto specially bitcoin. But as far as other benefits it can bring to let say a nation that is financially stable, like Japan, remains to be seen. But in my view, the economy can still grow because through bitcoin, people will have more purchasing power, so when people has the ability to buy products, it will definitely translate to a country having a better economy.
8652  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: EU 4th AML directive to cut down crimes related to Cryptocurrency on: July 20, 2018, 02:22:29 AM
European Union has released 4th AML directive to curb on Cryptocurrency crimes. Will it be beneficial for the cryptocurrency? What do you guys suggest?
Read More: https://shuftipro.com/blogs/eus-4th-aml-directive-aims-make-payment-ecosystem-crime-free/

Short term, it might affect the price negatively, but we all know that bitcoin is such resilient from this kind of news so in the long run it doesn't have that much effect on the price. I think having a strict AML on crypto will somewhat bring a lot of good news to the ecosystem. At least everyone should be aware that its going to be difficult to hide your assets and not being caught. It will gain that legitimacy and perhaps those legit investors will pour more cash resulting to the price gaining some grounds. I guess if you are not hiding illegal, you wouldn't opposed to this KYC and AML being laid down to us.
8653  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-18] ‘Wow’: Ethereum Fees Higher Than Bitcoin’s For First Time Ever on: July 19, 2018, 04:40:50 PM
Do you guys understand what happens to Ethereum as of late? There are accusations that EOS is doing a attack, similar to what we have seen Bitcoin Cash doing to Bitcoin last year.

So it looks like someone is spamming Ethereum network, that's why their network clogged resulting in higher fees. (really sounds familiar, isn't it). So I'm not surprised by the fee's, if its deliberate or not, remains to be seen.

Sounds really familiar as to what happen to bitcoin and bitcoin cash last year. Well we have yet to see then if EOS is really the one behind the attack to clog the network and make it more expensive. For now, it is more favorable for people to use bitcoin in transaction instead of ethereum.

If EOS is guilty of such accusation then it sure will affect then their reputation. Bitcoin cash has a good image then before but because of what they have done, its value subside then.

Of course EOS will not admit what they have done. But its all over the ETH news and I'm sure that the reddit user will not spill the beans if he doesn't have proof to back it up. Anyways, I'm sure that ETH will fight back so its going to be a long battle. As for Bitcoin Cash having a good image, I completely disagree, we all know who are the people behind and we all know their intentions and up to now they are still promoting themselves as the real Bitcoin Ver and his minions are really trying to create a schism amongst bitcoin enthusiast.
8654  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-18] Cryptocurrency Rally Builds Steam as Bitcoin Surpasses $7,500 on: July 19, 2018, 04:08:33 PM
Counter dumb money, that's it.

I'm glad that I have taken the opportunity to buy sub $6000 levels last month, it was too tempting to not buy. I am however not selling anything so I technically don't benefit from current increase at all. It's not worth taking marginal profits anymore. I purely focus on large shorts and that's more than enough to build up my Bitcoin stack. I'll let the price go up and short just before the SEC is going to announce an approval or rejection.

The reason I am shorting is that even with an approval you have to deal with buy the rumor sell the news, especially with how the ETF itself won't roll out this year.

Good strategy. We should all learn from the Winklevoss ETF application and the subsequent denial of SEC, bitcoin really pump prior to the decision but its better to short before the actual announcement. Its a win-win situation, short it and take the profits, but don't sell everything, in case that its approved, you can still gain as well. So let's see how the price will go leading up to the day the SEC makes their decision. Hope for the best, but at least we prepare for the worst.
8655  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is predicted +218.9% Price hike is expected. on: July 19, 2018, 03:34:22 PM
Complete report at - https://coinpredictor.io/bitcoin#events

What is your opinion on this prediction, is the algorithm really true and accurate?

Bitcoin has been in existence for almost a decade now and we haven't seen any algorithm that can accurately predict the price movement. So I would say that is going to be a miss as we have seen countless predictions this year that already failed to deliver. Everyone is really expecting that bitcoin can hit new all-time-highs, go to the moon etc. But its not certain when we are going to reach that. Certain parameters should be met and at least you need to have that patience to wait for the price to hit $50000-$100000 if that's what the predictors are pointing at.
8656  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC is green today! on: July 19, 2018, 05:55:58 AM
There are two main reasons, in my opinion.

Firstly, the $6k support held up well despite the bearish sentiments, which prompted this rebound in the markets. I don't think that this will be the absolute bottom of this bear market, however, because there is no momentum right now to say that we're heading into completely bullish territory.

Secondly, Blackrock seems to be interested in entering the bitcoin sphere. I really doubt that it's going to have a long lasting effect on the crypto market, but the market certainly responded strongly to it.

To me, I think that this is most likely just going to be a short term rebound instead of a major trend reversal. The bear market doesn't seem to be over yet. Though, I'd definitely suggest for investors with spare funds to start buying on a regular basis regardless of the price, as we are very close to the bottom if not already there, and prices are extremely low even after this small pump.

Yes, the BlackRock news some really impacted the price in the last 2 days. More than $1000 does really bring some sigh of relieved in the already struggling market. So we can attribute the last big uptrend on that news, but you are probably right that it might just be short term reversal as there are conflicting reports about Fed Chairman's Powell declaration on crypto.

I think we need to be very careful of every news going on. We need to read between the lines and make our own judgement. So let's see how it pans out in the next couple of days if the price will continue to shoot up.

8657  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Good news] U.S. central bank isn’t going to regulate Bitcoin & other crypto. on: July 19, 2018, 05:29:26 AM
During long time we have seen a rumor that Bitcoin will be regulated by U.S central bank. But it's long time has gone. And Bitcoin was also stay long time on bearish. Finally Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell made it clear that, they aren't looking for regulate cryptocurrency. I believe this is the one of great point for become bulls on crypto market. So almost we can expect that very soon we can see bulls run. On the other hand may we will see some more possitive news about Bitcoin.

News source : https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-07-18/powell-says-cryptocurrencies-aren-t-big-enough-to-pose-a-threat

Really welcoming news to hear the US stance on cryptos. People have been speculating that US might take a hard stance so I'm glad that Powell made it clear and finally announced the good news. Maybe this one could be a good catalyst for the bull runs that we all have been waiting for. So let's see, we slice $7000 and move even further, maybe this news can sustain the price to go and surpass $8000 in the next couple of weeks.
8658  Economy / Gambling discussion / Boxing News: Crawford beats Loma for ESPY fighter of the year (2018) on: July 19, 2018, 05:14:35 AM
Quote
Terence Crawford has been named the 2018 ESPY Best Fighter for his wins over WBO welterweight champion Jeff Horn, Julius Indongo and Felix Diaz. It’s a nice accomplishment for the 30-year-old Crawford to get the ESPY award, but his biggest win was over Horn, a fighter that won a controversial 12 round decision over Manny Pacquiao last year.

Since we are still in the Manny Pacquiao's fever, it was reported that Crawford wins fighter of the year over Lomachenko. This two has been in the discussion on who's Manny going to face next. So its going to be interesting if either one of them can get in the ring with Pacquaio and prove themselves against the legend.
8659  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I WAS TRY TO FIND ONLY ONE CRYPTOCOIN EXCHANGER NOT SCAM!!! on: July 19, 2018, 04:24:07 AM
Do you mean scamming and hacking reports? To be honest, Yes, its true, but there are a lot of solid and reputable crypto trading exchanges out there like Binance and Kucoin or even OKEx. If you want to get a good measurement as to what trading has large volumes per 24 hours, you can refer to: (https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/volume/24-hour/). Its fairly evident that most traders trusted that exchanges, IMHO.
8660  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC reach 10k$ at this time? on: July 19, 2018, 04:18:12 AM
Chances of reaching bitcoin to $10k is possible for that the market should recover because previously there is sudden growth in terms of bitcoin price and this makes to consolidate the price now before increasing to the next level.

Ok since we are in a short of mini rally in the last couple of days and we are above $7000 now, it looks like we are in a good path to reach $10000 at least in the future. Its just once news to tip the balance from $6000-$7000++ in 2-3 days so I'm not surprise if we can reach $8000 at least at the end of the month if the sentiments of the investors remain positive. Its going to be a slow process, but at least we have started it as early as July. We don't know, maybe in the next days or so another break out run happens because of another positive news that will sustain this break out run. So let's see how it goes and let's remain optimistic that it can be achieved.
